I agree with clsid for not putting checkboxes everywhere.

In my case, "While playing audio and video" is as good as "Always", I don't see the need for always on top when we are not even using MPC-HC, that's why I vote for 3 options. While we could use the word "Always" for "While playing audio and video" only, unless I have misunderstood it.

Just to summarize, I agree with clsid: 4 options without extra checkboxes. Thanks.

p.s. I'm not rushing U, Underground78, just your PC :D.

The difference between "Always" and "While playing audio and video" is that if you pause it, it stops being always on top. I use that all the time because I'll have a video playing in the corner of my screen, but sometimes need to see a window that's overlapping the video area (generally the menubar of whatever app I'm using while I watch video).

hi, when playing cd-audio the mpl-hc make a pause to find next song( or timeline), in audio-cd with no pauses between songs this is not good :)
there are a alternative CDDA Reader Filter to use? or will be possible to fix this? Foobar2000 plays well with no pauses.

thanks, adéu.

Do you think giving more space for "On top" text will fix the problem? (I can also use two lines, one for the label and one for the combobox.)

About r3299 (https://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/mpc-hc/changeset/3299/trunk), I agree with the fact using default font size is usually better but here it is not so great because the path can be very long and with the default size it will be always cut. (A real fix would be to use more than one line instead of cutting the message but I am not sure it is easy to do ...)

Vice versa. It is now well. I used default OSD size = 10.

The problem is not only a width. Combobox looks bad in Windows 7 at this place.

About width:
eng - On top: while playing video
rus - Поверх других окон: при воспроизведении видео

Why not remove that option like I suggested before? It is unneeded since the option is already in the View menu.

I want to report a long-persisting bug. When you open MPC-HC in D3DFS mode any command you try to enter with a keyboard gets doubled. For example, if I press pause, it pauses and unpauses; if I press PgDn, it skips two chapters; if I press "s" to change subtitles, it skips one, and so on... The only way to fix this is to press the left mouse button on the screen as if making MPC-HC an active window. Please, fix it.

This is really annoying.

If you don't want it to be lost again in this thread, you should probably open a new ticket in Trac for this bug report.

Agree, it might helps for translations that v0lt is encountering.

This has been discussed a lot on IRC yesterday and we will probably rework the options page so that the combobox fits. Tetsuo and XhmikosR don't really like the idea of removing the option from the options dialog.

I changed the log message, it won't change in Trac but at least it will be correct in the svn log. (It is probably possible to resync Trac with the svn but I don't know if Sourceforge let the admins do that).

1) MPC exits the Full Screen mode when switching to another window. Can I prevent it?
2) A request for the Go To function: Converting the value of minutes that exceeds 60 to the corresponding values of hours and minutes, e.g. 0:99 to 1:39. BSPlayer does this.

About "Go To frame" function. Does anyone really need a feature to manually set the fps?

TheElix
4th July 2011, 10:34
Can't really see why. Maybe if you want to compare same movie/different release with different frame rates on the same frame, but I usually use the 'eyes and framestep' method. Let's treasure the time of the developers and let them spend it on something more critical.

About OSD.
I suggest the writing "Image saved" instead of "Image saved to: C: \ ... \ image.png".
The path is visible in the status bar.
People (who have requested this feature) is not against it

A question about the standalone MPEG splitter: with the splitter Zoom Player always loads subtitle renderer on MPG files which breaks DXVA acceleration. Is it planned to be fixed?

A question about the standalone MPEG splitter: with the splitter Zoom Player always loads subtitle renderer on MPG files which breaks DXVA acceleration. Is it planned to be fixed?I think the player is supposed to blacklist the subtitle renderer for these codecs. The splitter is correct in its behaviour by demuxing the subtitles.

1) I'll explain my previous request about the Go To box. It is purely for convenience of finding a particular position. Without specifying the hour, you just enter e.g. 0:99 and get 1:39.
Functions to go to the start and end position would be useful too.
2) If this forum is not dedicated entirely to development, can I avoid exiting the Full Screen mode when switching to another window?

LAV Splitter does not expose subtitle pin on mpg files, Haali doesn't either.

But - MPG files can have subtitle ... or not ???

They can, MPG files can have VOB subtitles.
And if they do, LAV Splitter will export a subtitle pin, but only then.

this is supposedly the changelog:

Quote:
Catalyst 11.6b Hotfix resolves the following issues:

- Blue screen erorrs (BSOD) seen when connecting HDMI and DisplayPort based displays
- Screen flickering when the system is idle
- Mouse pointer corruption found in previous AMD Catalyst releases
- Fixes for various OpenGL issues
- VSync bug fixed
- Improved image quality

http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/AMDCatalyst116bHotfix.aspxFor all users: as usual, don't forget to set up settings again in the Catalyst Control Center after installing. EVR will use all those filters that are enabled by default in the video settings panel in any video. Enabling automatic deinterlacing, pulldown detection and using settings on internet video is fine, but the other options should be set up manually by the user, according to taste. Note that all video enhancement filters will inhibit the renderer from displaying reference pictures correctly.
The filters are also costly in performance. EVR uses a lot more resources typically than VMR-9, but that's only because of those extra filters.

Possibly related to the new driver, I have a black screen in VMR-9 w. and VMR-9 r. in mixer mode. VMR-9 r. without mixer mode has horrible color clipping. Can anyone else verify that?

TheElix

VMR-9 r. without mixer mode has horrible color clipping. Can anyone else verify that?I dunno about VMR-9 r., but I noticed some nasty feature in CCC drivers. I set Limited RGB pixel format in CCC for my display, but when I choose different resolution (or frame rate) pixel format is reverted to Full RGB. In other words, I have to choose pixel format for each resolution I use, otherwise I get clipping.

Thanks, it works. But I reviewed your patch, the splitter still always adds subtitle pin on TS files, which leads to the same effect as with MPG format. What's the purpose to add fake subtitle pin?

For MPEG-TS need add fake subtitle pin, because - subtitle stream can be found not at start of file, and if no fake stream add ... we can't play subtitle.

I don't know if developpers works on sub renderer but this problem still exist with the last version of mpc-hc. It's a problem with blu-ray subs.

internal DXVA filters don't seem to be working as expected, i checked VC1, H264 and VC1 for DXVA yet i open any H264 file i have(MKV, CCV1 reported) and ffdshow loads.
for some mp4 files, then it does load the DXVA filter.
i'm using r3262
even if i disable ffdshow h264 decoding, then it fails to rende the pin.

I don't want to enable ffdshow decoding ad it won't be able to use internal mpc-hc subtitler.

What is your graphic card ? It might fail because the streams you are trying to play are not compatible with hardware decoding. In that case, the decoder will reject the connexion so that it fallbacks to software decoding.
