I just grabbed the newest version of RipBot and ffdshow, but I'm still having a strange issue.

I have some fansubbed HD anime .mkv files that I have been reencoding for streaming to various devices in my house. Most of the files convert just fine, but I've run into a couple where the audio doesn't come through.

If I double-click the original .mkv file and open it in Media Player, everything is peachy. Audio and video both work just fine.

If I open the exact same .mkv file in RipBot, everything seems okay (audio and video tracks both demuxed, listed and selectable), but I get no audio in the preview, and output files have no audio either.

I'm really scratching my head on this one...

Yes, that would be fine. Or just drag and drop a bunch of files directly onto the interface, like in ConvertXtoDVD.

Hi

I just installed ripbot on a quad core along with ffdshowMT

1.I am going from blu-ray to ipod resolution and am getting 65 fps, is this low ( i thought before it was over 100)

2.when i open task manager avs2yuv.exe is using 65% and x264_x64.exe is only using 25%. is this normal

3.one final question, i tried doing saw 3 blu-ray which is mpeg2 and it doesn't show ffdshow by the clock and the video is all screwed up when finished,i checked libavcodec is selected in ffdshow config under mpeg2

For god sake! Use default 22 value instead of 18. Who told you to change this value?
Nurbs is right! 18 is too MUCH!!!!

I use 20 because 18 is overkill as you said but 20 is just about right for anime & shows :)

I've used this program to convert many .mkv files into AVCHD discs that play on my PS3, what I wondering is if the blu-ray option could be expanded, say a value in the fixed size dropdown of about 23gb ( I know I can type this in manually, so that isn't very important) but what I'm more interested in is if support for LPCM audio could be added, so it didn't downconvert it to AC3?

I've authored a few blu-rays myself, but the process is much much more complex than the very easy process this program has given me to make AVCHD discs.

In any event great work, I love the program.

I recently sold my PS3 and replaced it with an Apple TV and am very pleased with it. I am now using Ripbot to convert my HD DVDs (1280 x 720 6144 kbps, 5.1 AAC) and Handbrake to convert my Blu-rays as that allows me to keep 5.1 DD audio. Films are streamed from my main pc in another room and my iTunes music is on the ATV hdd.

Are you sure your getting 5.1 out of your reciever?
What settings are you using for audio in Handbrake?

I only do HD DVD or Blu Ray to DVD/BD 25. Everytime I have used a version 1.13 or later, I get out of sync audio. I think I remember that cut is used for the audio? When I use 1.12 I have always used off for the audio and has been in sync everytime (20+ now). Am I missing something?

I am going to try to save a encode by muxing the original audio from the disc to try and get in sync.

I still have all the temp files from the last job if any particular file is wanted.

Also, every disc I have done does not ff/rw (even with that jdobs fixclpi). If the disc is not processed by ripbot, and just muxed with TsMuxer then ff/rw is fine (under 23GB already).

GeoffYes, my amp indicates it's receiving DD 5.1. I leave audio track 1 to automatic aac prologic II and audio track 2 shows none in the first column and ac3 in the second. The rest of the line is greyed out.

I think track 1 has to be aac for iTunes to recognise it. My Apple TV is connected to my amp via hdmi and the ac3 track is just passed through to the amp by the ATV.

Update on my syncing dilema. I found the audio on the original had no delay required so why the problem? The audio is about a second in front even with the AC3 track extracted from the original TrueHD.

Is there anyway I can put a manual delay in TsMuxer if I can work out the required amount. The BD is The Dark Knight

using RipBot v13.3 now (but problem has existed from v10.4)
ffdshow v2633 mt

Rip HDDVD/BD movies--->> BD-R/BD9 everything is OK
except FF/RW doesn't WORK on SONY BDP-S350
Chapter Jumps OK after (fixCLPI) but Sound is couple seconds late

Chapter Jumps & FF/RW works in PowerDVD v7.3
but not w/ SONY BDP-S350

I haven't used it successfully yet but I haven't tried it for a few versions.

With the delay problem, I managed to make it better by using a - delay but it still isn't spot on as I don't know what the actual delay is.

NO-- never used Jdobbs - BD-rebuilder
watching the thread---however RipBot works like a Charm
FixCLPI was supposed to fix problems caused by tsMuxeR
tsMuxeR Blu-ray output and Fixclpi (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=145092)
it appears new ver FixCLPI does help Panasonic/Pioneer SAPs

i will give BD-rebuilder a try on next Encode
but what i think now==
SONY BDP-S350 is just toooo pickey-- only likes original CLPI files

What program did you use to rip the blu ray dvd? Im using Anydvd and then handbrake. I assume your doing the same?

It depends on what audio is on the original BD. If it has a 640kb Dolby track I use TSMuxer to remove any other tracks (just leaving the video and 640 DD track) and save an m2ts file which I take into Handbrake.

The fixclpi does fix packet count for me so it did something.

I am also trying RB Builder on the disc that didn't work with ripbot and your post is encouraging as it still has over a day to finish (single core cpu).

I got same results as mouw but then I would as I also have a 350. I prefer 03 Cont SPS and has both excellent ff/rw and chapters.

Without. It was still good with the fixclpi but chapter search seemed slower. FF/RW was as before as with without fixclpi.

If ripbot produced results without fixclpi then people would have a choice to use fixxlpi manually if they need it. I suspect fixclpi works differently on what player the person has. I borrowed a Samsung 1500 for a week and ff/rw has always worked on it since I have been using ripbot 1.10.0.

I think I wil remux a BD I have done already with the cont sps setting and see what happens. A 5 minute clip is not really long enough as I want to see what it is like for longer period of time.

I tried to get a previously ripbot encoded BD's ff/rw to work and didn't manage it.

I put it through the latest tsmuxer and selected continually insert sps/pps. It was no different even with the fixclpi.

Had those samples been put through ripbot as I only get the ff/rw problem when the files have been.

Up to now I have never tested if FW or RW was working after a BD movie was run through RipBot to make a DVD-9 (BD9) version of it. It had only been important for me that the chapter skip works both for forward or reverse.

All playback tests conducted on a Panasonic BD30 and BD35 player

So I tested the last movie run with RipBot v1.13.3 to now also check FW and RW – Results:

Chapter skip Fw and Rw OK -- FW OK -- but RW not working as the movie restarts from the very beginning

Now I’ve also run your requested tests:

Great app that i have been using for a while now. Heres my little problem.

I have many DVDs movies I have on my HDD and would just like to convert them to blu-ray 1.46GB Mini DVD Discs. I have no problems about how to do this, but I am unsure what the "LOCK SIZE" number should be set to - (there are CD,DVD5,DVD9 and Bluray but no mini-DVD size options in the drop-down box). All this MB to GB to GiB conversion confuses me! 1360MB? 1460MB?? Ideas anyone?

According to this page (http://www.osta.org/technology/dvdqa/dvdqa6.htm), there are 1,463,386,112 bytes in a miniDVD, therefore the number of megabytes is 1,463,386,112/1,048,576(number of bytes in a MB)=1395.59375MB

Since Atak has rounded down from 4482+ to 4480, and 8152 to 8150, if I were you I'd try rounding down to 1393 or 1394.

P.S. To be absolutely precise about your particular media, you should look at what ImgBurn has to say about its precise capacity in bytes, then divide by 1,048,576 as above. :)

Thanks :), also i'm finding CQ=20 better then 2 pass because my video files get done faster then 2 pass & look better then 2 pass but at a smaller size.

also [CoalGuys]Toradora-22[B8A101E7].mkv was 229mb but using CQ=20, it came out to 142mb. i'm really loving this program you made :D

All you have to do is put it into RB's Tools\x264 directory as x264_x64.exe.
I try that but it does not encode only thing it does in muxing.

Just ran the same movie through BD_RB v0.20.02b and yes both RW and FW work aswell as chapter skip forward and reverse

Does Ripobot calulate the M2TS Overhead when using Bluray/AVCHD ouput with locked Filesize (2pass VBR) ?

Looks correct including M2TS/Bluray output:

Megui calculates for a 1h36m7s 25Fps 44kbps AC3 = 6067Kbps for MKV Container
Ripbot calulates 6057kbps for mkv and 5728 for Bluray Output.

So the Overhead is calulated :)
