I don't understand what you mean. It sounds like you're not using Ripbot to rip, but are using it to build your AVCHDs. How do you do that? Can you give me more detail on the steps you're using?

After being ripped by AnyDVD, Clown_BD creates movie only BD's (with only wanted audio and subtitles). If the results are bigger than 23.3GB then they can go through Ripbot.

Correct, I had started this process before someone posted the fix for Ripbot. I'll try the fix tomorrow. 8 hours to build a 720p mkv though is ridiculous.

I tested the mkv I made tonight of Iron Man. Damn does it look great!! I have it down to 720p/AC3 for size reasons but it looks great on my TV.

Now, (I have no clue why) it cannot create a Job. I choose the file (mkv, vob or mp4), the process start, demuxing audio appears or indexing and then it opens MPC with render error. No jobs, nada.

Do you have any clue ?

64bit version working for me OK with ini file set to: Usex264x64=1 in version 1.14.0. Also confirmed by the task manager showing the x264_x64 file running during encoding

Yes, the ArcSoft Total Media Theater includes a DTS-HD MA decoder. You will need to find a version prior to 3. I am using 2.1xxxx and it works flawlessly. Unfortunately, I have to manually demux the audio track and encode to flac with eac3to. I can then import the audio track into RipBot. Would definitely be nice if this support was added similar to the TrueHD/PCM support Atak introduced in 1.14.

Hello, I'm having a problem, not sure how to go about this.
I downloaded this, and the other three necessary programs avisynth, matroska splitter and ffdshow too. I was able to convert like, 3 shows to psp format, but then things started to get bad.

Now, everytime I try to convert something, it takes several minutes to initialize. This isn't my main problem though--everytime, it barely even finishes audio, and my computer will just restart, without any prompting from me whatsoever.

I looked on google to find out why, and some place said to look in my computer management files to see any red flags. Well, this is what those say:

I figured it was just the mkv file type or whatever, but now that I've tried an alternate mp4 file, it still restarts, sometimes not even fully doing the audio. Does anyone know why this is? I mean, I can't convert anything it seems, all it does is take 5 minutes to initialize, a few minutes to get through the audio IF its able, and might start the encoding, but soon after my comp just restarts (due to the application failure, usually the one i posted).

For some reason after loading a avs script the boxes for "mode" and "save as" are still greyed out. I'm not able to select two pass or avchd. Is anyone else having this problem?

I had the same problem on Windows 7 64bit. Started my encode and x264_x64 reported a crash. I got it to work by using the 4.0 profile instead of a custom 4.1 profile which had a buffer and max rate of 50000.

Don't know if the 4.1 profile had anything to do with the crash or if it was just coincidence that x264_x64 worked after changing to 4.0.

Thanks Balthazar. I didn't get a chance to test it because I upgraded to Windows 7 and that resolved all my problems.

Question for Atak, will RipBot continue normally during any phase after Hybernation? My laptop shutdown after 360 minutes and after starting it back up, x264_x64 and RipBot continued as normal. I'm hoping that the data is not corrupt due to the Hybernation.

One more question which is sort off topic (I think). How can I burn forced subtitles into an mkv? It's hard to determine which subtitle track is the forced one. I'd like to rip my copy of Black Hawk Down but will need forced sub support. I generally use PS Media Server for playback, but can test in MPC.

Edit: Also, how can I make a proper mkv if the main movie is not all in one m2ts?

Well it still doesn't work for me. Do you think it has anything to do with using DGAVCDecNV? The script plays just fine. Using MKV as input all the options are available.

Atak, I just try an AC3 tracks and image size is correct. DTS tracks all the time oversize of 1%, same if i put 4425 or 4400, all the time 1% oversize.

I apologize for apparently misunderstanding your problem. I thought you were trying to decode DTS-HD MA to FLAC. It seems you are trying to encode to DTS. At this time I am unaware of any other DTS encoder other than Surcode. May I ask why you wish to encode to DTS?

When I addborders with the new version on an .mkv file and choosing AVCHD it gives me an error when trying to add subtitles. the error says warning not valid AVCHD. This is the same method I use in 13.3 but with the Bluray option.

Hi,

I am using Ripbot 13.3.7 with Windows Vista64. I want to shrink National Treasure to fit on BD-R.

Movie is reported as 2:11:4.531; audio (copy stream of AC3 640 kbps audio) shows as 2:11:4.512. BDinfo shows original movie has 19 chapters. (is the mismatch in movie/audio length the cause of my problem below?)


After converting National Treasure, creating ISO and playing with Power DVD9, it shows 13:15:21 in the movie info box for movie length (BDinfo on the converted mt2s also reports this length). Both bdinfo and PDVD also shows 20 chapters. The 20th chapter appears to be all black. The movie actually ends at the right place on the slider bar (2:11) bot then plays a black screen for the remaining 11 plus hours.

Any ideas why I have this 11 hours of black screen?

I'm not well versed in AVCHD versus Blu ray format, so forgive me in advance. I"m just trying to shrink from a BD-DL original to fit on a BD-R (sometimes even after removing unwanted audio/sub streams the movie is still too big)

Ripbot v 1.13.3 allowed output to Bluray as an option. v 1.14.1 shows AVCHD as the output option in its place. Do I just use imgburn to create the iso from the AVCHD output, burn to BD disk and I'm done (for playback in a standalone BD player on BD media) - or do I need to move files/folders around, edit clipinf header, etc first?

Sure, make sure 2 pass is set, check lock to MB and enter in a size in MB.

Good question. I installed ver 2.1xxxx as an entire package (fortunately, the trial version is sufficient). I have looked several places and most everybody seems to be doing it that way. Do not use version 3 as ArcSoft has made changes to their decoder and eac3to is not able to use it. Unfortunately, it is the only way to properly decode 7.1 DTS-HD Master Audio into FLAC.

I have been trying to sharpen the video quality (to take the soft look out of the picture) and after trying different variations of the settings I don't seem to get much better results

Atak just tried a few 2 hr movies AVCHD 720p (2 pass) using 1.14.1 - On my quad core PC encoding takes about 50% longer than using 1.13.3 and CPU utilization is running at about 50-60% on pass1 and 80-90% on pass 2. Using all previous versions of ripbot CPU utilization has always been at 95-100% on all 4 cores for pass 2.
Not sure if this is caused by the latest x264 release or a change in your ripbot settings.

This is normal. First pass does not require that much cpu cycles. If you enable Denoiser (GPU) cpu utilization can be a little bit lower. Simply CPU is waiting for GPU to finish filtering.

Must be the new x264 slowing the process down - just tried the same movie with 1.13.3 - all commandline settings are the same used in 1.14.1 ( bitrate ,drive partition all the same) . With 1.13.3 encode is about 70% of the time using 1.14.1 and all cpu utilization is higher.
