I’ve been using RipBot for the last few days and honestly I’m gonna started loving it. But there are lack of options which lead me to use other tools. There are some specific requirements which RipBot obviously can (as it is powered by those tools only), but doesn’t due to lack of options. Please consider the followings in your future release so that we; the RipBot lovers can stick on a single great application.

• Include option ‘As-is’. Sometimes it is required to re-encode the audio stream only leaving the video stream intact or vice versa or editing the individual streams.
• ‘Append’ option to include for joining multiple files (supported by ‘mkvMerge’).
• Mux-Unmux options to include (supported by ‘mp4box’).
• Trimming the part of the video (if possible: like removing the end credits).
• More file support required (like ‘.dat’, ‘m4v’, raw audio, ‘aac’, ‘ac3’ etc).
• Tagging: some options are there but not full-fledged like mp4box.
• What is the use of ‘Queue’ button? Include it in ‘Encoding Settings’ dialogue as ‘Add to Queue’.
• ‘?’ button should not redirect to the forum. Prepare a real good help guideline for the morons like what is ‘Deinterlace’ or ‘Decimate’ and what exactly they are meant for – SERIOUSLY!!!
• Preview doesn’t show the exact output quality (like ‘HandBrake’) using the ‘Preview Script’ option.
• Extraction of the contents besides de-mux (like poster) from existing file.
• Up-Down buttons are buggy and malfunctions often.
• Temp folder should be user specific.

It may be lengthy but I think; as a developer you should listen to the user requirements.

You do realize that Atak puts hard work into Ripbot for the low low price of... free (or donations). As for yelling out "SERIOUSLY", I believe that most of us are capable of googling Deinterlace or Decimate instead of demanding that Atak create documentation for those that are unable to google.

Temp folder could possibly be made user specific if you use %USERNAME% or %USERPROFILE% or for Windows Vista or 7 - %HOMEPATH% (a quick google got me the exact variable name) in the config file

I didn't deny the selfless effort of ATAK. That was some suggestions only. I think the developer is the best one to guide his creation; that's what the reason behind requesting for the help guideline.

Knowledge is not the thing to be exchanged with currency. If people can google everything then there is no need of professors or masters.

It is nothing more then an installer that installs ripbot and includes all required software. haali, ffdshow, avisynth, etc
Mainly for n00b!3s that need a head start. But is also for those that want to keep programs in the Program files folder(s)

WHAT? Ripbot264 demuxes ALL audio streams, ALL subtitles, Chapters and so on ... What else would you like to demux???

Does anyone have any settings that work with an XBox 360.
I'm currently converting from Blu-ray to MP4 which is stored on a NAS Drive then streamed when required to an Xbox 360.

I have done a few conversions already and most seem to workfine, where I use profile 4. Now there are a few that won't play on the Xbox and it generates either one or another error code. I have looked at these and beleive it is an audio problem. I have tried different audio conversion settings but it dosen't seem to help.

If anyone has any settings that work 100% of the time it would be a great help.

Just for anyone that would like to know the error codes on the Xbox are:

I am trying to do 300 blu-ray which is VC1 and have done many movies before this but when i click start it instantly says job done

have you moved / renamed / etc the file?
maybe just remove and readd the job

I've been having issues with the latest Ripbot. After demuxing it hangs at the "gathering information..." step. No log file gets generated. This happened to 127 Hours and Tron Legacy, the only two BD's I've tried. When I switch back to Ripbot 1.16.4 the issue goes away. I don't use codec packs. I have the latest FFDshow, haali splitter and avisynth 2.58.

Intel Core2 Quad CPU q6700 @2.67 ghz to something better for encoding blu-ray's to mkv

I am looking at an i7 2600 but wondering if i should go another route like an AMD 6 core or something

I can encode (to 1080p BD25) in about 5-6 hours with the AMD 1090t
this is probably about the longest encode you can do. as you wouldn't be encoding for BD50 and anything else (1080p BD9/DVD9 and 720p) would be faster
the 2500 and 2600 intels should do them even faster than the AMD

Can I use this value?

as far as I'm aware there is no valid 2 option/setting for this. it's just 0 [No] or 1 [Yes]

Get the latest version of 7-zip from http://www.7-zip.org/ if you are having problems extracting RipBot.

Ripbot setted as default is perfect for 720p encodes....
But for 1080p ???
Should I do some supplementary settings ,should I change some settings ???
What do you think about these parameters used for 1080p encodes ???

ref=4 for 1920x1080
deblock=-3:-3 for better grain and detail retention
subme=9 this is a MINIMUM for keeping good quality
me_range=32 but 16 isn't that bad
bframes=6 at least 5 for good compressibility
b_pyramid=2 turning on an advanced algorithm of compression
aq=1:0.80 lower adaptive quantizers for much better grain and detail retention

and of course : trellis = 2.....

Well if I'm doing such changes do I need another changes I missed here ????
Or the default settings are enough for 1080p encodes , too ???

Not sure how this would affect anything as that the setting defaults to 32 bit on a 32bit system. Also if your refuring to the need of strait 32 bit tools on a 32 bit codec vs x64 codec then maybe you should read up on this thread. (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=144140) :)

The only way I could get the correct video length was to use MakeMKV on the DVD first then open the file with RipBot.
Another way will be to use HandBrake to open the DVD .vob folder.

Is this a dgindex issue or am I doing it wrong?

fyi there are 2500/2600 and then 2500k/2600k
from my understanding the K models are unlocked and therefore OC-able. so make sure you grab a 'k' one

I don't think XP is supported by MS anymore
i.e. they won't be making any new patches and such for it
I'd get 7...if for nothing else, than to get x64 and larger memory support

Did you already try to catch the final VOB? The RibBot looks automatically for others.

I am sure all the .vob has been included.
I made a mistake in my previous post, only tools such as Hybrid and HandBrake were able to get the correct video length.

Here's my workflow if it helps.

AnyDVD HD > CloneDVD2(select main video 1:14:37) > Open .vob with RipBot > RipBot index using dgindex and reports 1:14:41

Cut out CloneDVD2 and just select a vob in the dvd that is one of a chain of vobs

that are ~1gb in size. ripbot264 will index it and then all you need to do is put your setting in and click encode and your done.
Or you can with anydvd running copy the Video_TS folder from the dvd to your hard drive and follow the steps above. ^

Just choose VTS_07_6.VOB, for example.

Soon after, check:
"Deinterlace" and "Decimate" appears closed? If this happens, it is because everything is fine.
