Its not causing errors, but its making my BDMV moves hiccup throughout the movie. When you wave your mouse over the other copies they just go away like when something just crashed and it was a copy in the task bar you waive mouse over it and disappears off your screen. Is the 2nd pass trying to open a copy and overwrites itself and crashes

Instead of being 6 files it is one big ass file of 4h20mins.
So after encoding it with Ripbot I tried to split it in 6 files with MkvMerge by timelines but starting with file 2 the audio is way out of sync.
How do you guys do it?

Hi there, I've installed [AviSynth v.2.5.8 MT, 64-bit] , [ffdshow_rev3914_20110629_clsid_x64.exe] , and [Haali Media Splitter 32-bit]. I actually wanted to get the full potential by installing the 64-bits, however when I try to open RipBot264, I get "Not Installed" for FFDshow is it because it must be 32 bit? Because if FFDshow has to be 32-bit then i have to make AviSynth 32-bit also, because AviSynth requires and reccomends FFDshow x64.

make sure after ripbot scans the disc that you are choosing the right playlist(s) (scan with bdinfo)
there might be a playlist to play ALL of the episodes. if so...and if you're choosing that playlist, that'd account for why you end up with one big file contain all the episodes =)

This is probably what happened, selected the "play all" file...which is just one large file with all episodes...should have copied just each individual episode by itself.

Your sample works without any problems. So I have no solution for you at the moment.
I think I may have found a solution; seems I used the "weightb" switch incorrectly in the custom profile. I removed it and re-ran the job. Seems to be working now. I'll post an update when its finished.

I finally got it working. It was all my fault. It didn't really occur to me that I should double check my profile settings until the exact same problem started happening with a another rip. The thing that bugged me the most was how cryptic x264's error messages seem. Like x264 [error]: could not open input file `1' which looking back now was probably just referring to an error with one of the options or its value- in this case "weightb 1" and not the actual input file. So is it safe to assume that this feature is always on?

Hi all

I have just started with BR so I may have missed something simple here very easily. I apologise if this has been asked, but this thread is 100+ pages long and is too long to read through on a 64K connection.

I am trying to use ripbot on an XP SP3 machine.

I had to install Java, FFDshow etc, to get it to load up.

WHen I start a job, it runs for a couple of seconds and finishes. Know I know its not a super computer so I went looking into the logs and found this

Error: The source file 'D:\Temp\RipBot264temp\video.264' could not be opened successfully, or retrieving its size by seeking to the end did not work.

Checking the directory, there is indeed no video.264 file there.

How do I fix this problem, what have I done wrong.

Thats odd, RIpbot264 should see the individual playlists (i.e. one per episode). Another option, use MakeMKV t o rip out the individual episodes, and then put through Ripbot. I had no issues with the Supernatural BR discs.

I've built an avchd with subtitles but the subtitles are invisible on the PS3. I can view the sup file and it looks ok. Any ideas?

Also, updraded from 1.16.4 to 1.16.5 in an effort to solve this problem but 1.16.5 gets stuck at "Please wait... Gathering information...". I've read lots of posts about this and tried all the suggested fixes with no success. Any suggestions? I'm running Windows 7 x64.

I've been trying to encode the LOTR extended trilogy I recently bought (starting with FotR), however I've encountered a few problems along the way - I'll be referring to FotR from now on as I believe I can extend the solution to the others.

It's spread across 2 BD-50's so normally one would just extract the av streams (.h264/.dts core) from each and append/mux them together using mkvmerge or tsmuxer, etc. - pretty simple you'd think? Unfortunately not. In fact it turns out there's about 6-8s and 1-2s of black screen at the end and beginning of the 2 av streams, respectively. Personally, I'd prefer my final result to have end scene -> next scene instead of a 10s transition screen so I went about cropping it using tsmuxer/mkvmerge (I forget which I used - this past week's been a blur) and then appended the desired files back together. It worked well as far as I recall and I then fed the .ts (.h264 stream) and .dts into RipBot; however the end result was less than desirable. The audio was out of sync and it progressively got further ahead of the video, which I thought was an fps issue as I've seen this sort of thing happen before. I tried encoding it a second time, this time using Assume -> 23.976, but again the same result.

I've used RipBot a couple hundred times now and it works every time so I'm not quite sure what the problem is, but my best guess is it has to do with the separate files and perhaps not using the best method for cropping them? I'm not sure how to proceed, so any assistance is much appreciated.

Is the first sub a blank one when viewed in SupRip or BDsup2Sub? If so, just removed it, and remux the modified one back into your AVCHD.

For DSS, is it audio=true or video=false? I haven't really used DSS much before, although it looks pretty straightforward. As for RipBot, the avs shows up in the audio window as well; however, it gives me a few profiles (vorbis, aac, ac3) instead of copy stream, which is what I'd like.

Ha dmy first error tonight using ripbot the first one i have ever had it has worked perfect but when i started all it does is just 1 second and stop. I did notice that AVG did not like the pipebuf.exe for some reason.

Those tests are biased I have to say. Every time I see a comparison chart there is always a different product on the top listed as the best.

Pick one that doesn't complain about good usable software and be done with it.. I do however agree with Atak, being a PC tech I've never seen a problem with MSE. :rolleyes:

Steer as far away from McAfee as you can get... Truly the worst AV EVER... Ive seen more computers come to me that have McAfee installed and working whiles being infected with 4 or more active chunks of malware. Root kits, Trojans, Key loggers etc.

While converting mkv/x264 videos to a smaller size I've been having the problem of the included subtitles being hardcoded into the converted video.

On the Edit Job > Properties settings I've choose "Do not use subtitles" but they keep being hardcoded.

Could someone please tell me how to stop this from happening. It's ruined alot of videos.

That 20%-30% speedup probably only refers to the time spent on the mbtree algorithm, not to the overall speed of an encode.

Or better choose as profile : [HIGH] 4.0 HD Progressive
