I've created all 200+ files myself, and i'm looking for a faster way to re-encode all of them. If anyone knows a way it would be a huge help. I think the problem lies in the fact that each MKV would need to be demuxed before the video can be re-encoded.

Try HandBrake.

Otherwise, if all files are exactly the same, it should be very easy to write a batch of your own, if you have basic knowledge of batch and x264. If you use a patched x264 you could even circumvent spending any time on remuxing the video.
I could help writing a simple batch for you, but we better not do it inside this thread as it would be off topic, then.

I have a folder full of MKVs that I want to convert to iPad format. All the MKVs have the same properties: 1080p AVC (High@L4.0) video & 640 Kbps AC-3 audio.
All I want to do is change each file from (High@L4.0) to (Main@L3.1) & from AC-3 to 128 Kbps AAC (LC) ... Also changing from MKV to MP4.


You can try MkvToMp4 (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=163050).This program makes mp4 compatible with iPad. But 1080p will not sync via iTunes with iPad1, only iPad2.

Have you checked that "large SUP file" with SupRip.exe , for errors?

Why don't you upload 50 MB sample to ww...

Hi... simple question, how do I fix aspect ratio of the original 16:9 material to 4:3, after cropping it. In this particular case I am cropping a 1920:1080 frame to a 1440:1080 frame.

If I just crop and encode (mkv) then it still shows stretched and MPC reports it as 16:9 AR in the properties. I also tried re-muxing it via mkv-toolnix and setting the AR there but it doesn't fix things.

I don't want to resize the video using 4:3 profiles (although I tried that too, using custom resize that matches my targetted frame hoping that resize would just pass it through) but the end result was still being reported as 16:9.

Obviously I can fix the picture aspect on the TV and/or the player but that's beside the point.

for that particular case you will have to manually edit jobx_EncodeVideoPass1.cmd and jobx_EncodeVideoPass2.cmd.

Change --sar x:x to --sar 1:1

1440x1080 in AVCHD camcorders / HDV / HD-TV is always 16:9.

Yes, that worked exactly as expected. Perfect. Thank you. I am not sure though why 4:3 framed video would show up as 16:9 in avchd material.

Either way, would you consider adding "--sar" parameter to the GUI?

Sure you can. At first you need to install the needed feature first.
Got to Server manager -> features -> add features and select "Desktop experience" and "windows audio experience".

but i have windows server 2008 r2 web PL and I do not see anything similar to these options. Can you make screenshot?

I don't have Windows Server at all but with a simple google - search you'll find a lot of workarounds.

Have you tried the windows server 2008 - version of media player 11?

200? I was on your side until that. You do know you can add files whilst it's encoding right? Start one encode and just add as you wish.
BTW, I have over 18,000 files that I'm in the process of encoding. :sly:

Thanks! I've used RipBot for quite a while now and it really is good.

Simple answer. Use mkvedit. It's in the ripbot folder in the tools subfolder. With mkvedit you have two choices. You can recompile the file with your specs, takes a few seconds, or just edit the header info to display what you want. That's why I love MKV's. The header editor is in the FILE toolbar. I use those features all the time to fix AR.

I like your program and I know that ripbot264 is younger than megui but you shoud improve ripbot264. I have a lot of suggestion what should be improved.

maybe you're right but there are others gui that maybe fit what you want, i would only ask to add batch encoding with something like pickup profile... but ripbot is one of the best guis that i use... and as i said before you can not only edit the x264 command line but also the avs script, besides it requires more than basic knowing of avisynth

nobody would be worried about nero if we could get better support for vorbis. Vorbis with aotuv sound is brilliant.

I'm just going off what Atak said. He said he would not use NeroAAC since it's a commercial product. Or something like that. I wasn't the first to ask for NeroAAC. Personally I've never seen anything encoded with Ogg, but it's in ripbot so someone must use it.

Well I never used ogg vorbis until recently. Especially the builds with aotuv have really good sound quality and compression. Saves being tied into Nero. Also noticed from late last year a lot of manufacturers have started including support for vorbis and releasing firmware upgrades to support it.

Ripbot264 is perfect for me I have just a small suggestion to make:
- Increase the bitrate AAC 2.0 up to 256 Kbps & AAC 5.1 to 640 Kbps (for audiophiles)
- No encoding codecs (FFDShow -> MPlayer or other) ;)

In any case I find Ripbot264 Great with every encouragement Atak_Snajpera thank you
