RipBot simply selects the largest playlist by default which in most cases is correct. In this case, not so much...

Yes, I have done a 720p encode and it works fine. I just don't see the need as the screen is 1024x768. Standard definition is about all you really get with widescreen material. So I choose to save the space.

Yes i know. 720x576 (16:9) will be upscaled to 1024x576. I was just curious because 720p would require level 3.1 in command line.

Well, I just checked the file and it shows it is Main Profile @ Level 3.0 via MediaInfo.

The vc1 streams are packaged into an mkv and processed just fine so long as they come from mpeg-ts video stream.
Otherwise you cant add them directly.

Are you trying to back up "movie only"? If so, I would recommend using Clown_BD (http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=25818). You can pick to keep HD audio (or down convert) and subs, and once it's done extracting, you'll be able to see if it will fit on a BD25.

+1 If you want to keep the original HD Audio tracks then Ripbot is not the program for you.

I have no issues keeping the HD audio, I just mux in after re-encoding. and I honestly don't even mind that so much. what I dislike is I can't properly determine sizes without having the HD audio added in the expected size.

Hi, I successfully finished several rips on different hardware -- now I'm on a fancy new i7 and I consistently have the following problem...

Ripbot finishes (after grinding away for several hours) but then generates no output file. After digging into the logs I see that BePipe has a problem detecting the audio stream. I think RipBot is just ignoring this and fails silently. (There's no visible rip bot error)

I've googled endlessly and can't seem to find anything relevant on this error.

I've tried reinstalling win7 from the ground up and then just installing win7 update, rip bot, anydvdHD, and the 4 dependencies, still no luck. The problem crops up if I'm ripping from disk or ripping from the hard drive.

If it matters, this is a 64bit CPU with 64bit win7 home premium. (but that worked for me before on a different motherboard/cpu)

@crankhard - Are you by chance placing a check on the demux screen next to audio that says FLAC? I ask cause based off your log it states input file must be WAV PCM which if you dont check the FLAC button you will notice in your jobX folder the audio track will be .wav instead of .flac. This is purely a guess on my part as I have not encountered this issue.

No, it does not re-encode. You're right you don't need it if you're comfortable using your other tools.

I have been using ripbot to convert HDDVD and BD to WTV files. I find it very useful, thank you for sharing.

I was wondering if it would be possible to add an option for WTV as the output file. It would be a simple matter of building the proper command line call to DVRMSToolbox and executing after the encoding stage. It would save an additional step to the conversion process.

What do you think?

Bump to my request. Here is what I see needs to be done;

- A radio button on the jobs window for a save-as option for wtv.
- Create a script to issue the command: "<DVRMSToolbox Inst_dir>\Applications\todvrms.exe" "<mkv output dir>\output.mkv" "<final output dir>"\output.wtv" -wtv
- An additional task at the end of the job to call to the new wtv script

Is this possible? It would be so nice for the Win7 MC and xbox extender folks.

I'm wondering if there is a general rule when it come to 5.1 to 2.0 downmixing concerning the checking of the "normalize" box.

I usually do VOB to mkv encodes using LC-96. Sometimes I just can't pick the 2.0 original audio because there isn't one. So I always do 5.1 -> 2.0 but I'm not sure whether I should normalize 100% or not.

I usually don't, but the reason is just because it takes longer...

My only concern is about dialogues getting "lowered" in comparison to sound effects. Is this corrected "automatically" with the downmix process involved in Ripbot or should I check "normalize" to achieve this?

I have read some threads about DRC, replain gain and normalization but I can't fin one concerning some general advice (in ripbot).

The strange thing is it was working the first time, but had a stupid autoupdate that restarted the PC. After that I was unable to do anything. I tried to just rerun the job, but it said it was already complete, but there was no file where it said it was. So I changed destination folder and it started again, but got the abover error. I have updated what I can and uninstalled and reinstalled AviSynth. Not sure what else to do.

when ripbot completes a job the video track will be in the temp folder, so you can just mux everything together
no need to reprocess it all

i did scan though a few pages but didnt come across my issue: ripbot on my current pc setup (windows 7 64x enterprise) will only tackle a few blu rays, handbrake will, but Id rather use ripbot...

the two issues , errors i keep coming across are either related to DIRECTSHOW or AVISYNTH
any fix available for these reoccuring issues??

I was messing around with RipBot264 1.15.0 and managed to convert a rmvb file by manually typing in the file name into RipBot with K-Lite mega-codec installed, however the audio was off sync.
I wasn't able to accomplish this with RipBot264 1.15.1 with only avisynth, haali and ffdshow installed.
I was wondering if RipBot will be able to fully support rmvb in the future.:D

RipBot was incorrectly identifying my FFDShow version 3326 as being less than version 3300.

Demux the HD audio track with TSMuxer or Eac3to. Check the size.

Re-encode video if necessary.

23830 MB - (HD audio size) -500 MB for padding = target encode size for Ripbot.

ReMux with TsMuxer.

Although this could be what you're already doing.:sly:

Please would you be able to put in a profile to support iPad? Currently the iPod/iPhone profile works just fine, but if you could include a profile (main profile 3.1), that could mean slightly better quality at the same bitrates.

Apple Technical Note 2188 says Apple TV export under QT is compatible with iPad. I've got a buddy with an iPad and can confirm the Apple TV profile in RB264 works with iPad.

Also for what its worth, I do modify the Apple TV settings to change profile to 3.1 instead of 3. I know this is just a label but do it so the log files are clean. Leaving it at 3 would see warnings about exceeding 10mbs.
