Ok I am suffering from a mild issue, after encoding is done RipBot just stays stuck on Muxing for hours, although encoding is done, I have to abort manually to finish the Job ... I am on Win 7 x64bit had that problem ever since last version and still it's in latest ..

What to do ?

Since i updated to 1.15.0 the gui tells me "no audio" when i´m adding a mkv file. the getframe.avs contains this:

I replaced the mkvtoolnix with the old one from 1.14.6, then ripbot extacts the audio. Someone else got this error?

After testing other things an reading changelogs, I found this in mkvtoolnix 3.0.0 changelog.txt:

all: enhancement for Windows platforms: If one of the mkvtoolnix
components is run without having been installed before then
translations will be read from the directory the .exe is run
from.

My Windows 7 is german. When I open the mkvextract.exe from Ripbot 1.14.6 the text is shown in english. When I open the mkvextract.exe from Ripbot 1.15.0 the text is german. So I deleted the "locale" folder under "\tools\mkvtoolnix\" and Ripbot 1.15.0 shows me audio again.

You are right, got still this error, but only with avi files. mkv files work just fine. I continue testing.

Ok. Here the final solution:

Avi Files are demuxed with ffmpeg. I downloaded the latest ffmpeg.exe from here:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/mplayer-win32/files/FFmpeg/revision%2020900/FFmpeg-svn-20900.7z/download

Copy this file to "\Tools\ffmpeg".

Very important: Use a short folder and filename, when adding a new job, no ä, ö, ü, ß...
This worked for me, please let me know if it works for you, too.

I overwritten the file you said and it did nothing.
I shorten my filenames and it worked like a charm.

I have indeed quite a long filename syntax for my movies. I don't know how you figured it out but thanks a lot, the internet should be crowded with more people you!

/edit : In fact I was mistaken because I used a different folder with non-formatted (hence shorter) filenames. The problem was not the filenames' lenght but the special characters in the source foldername "D:\Mes documents\Mes vidéos". If I change the 'é' to 'e' then it's ok :)

With version 3.99 the problem was solved.

Thanks Atak_Snajpera, for creating this easy-to-use tool.

I have some .wmv files that I can play on each of my media players, and each show the video (which show in the profile as Blu-ray) but they can not play the audio (which shows in th profile as AAC). When I reencode with ripbot264 they play both the audio and video fine. I am wondering if there is a video passthru mode (I did a search of this thread and basically came up blank).

I am also confused as to why the audio plays after reencoding with ripbot264, since it is still AAC afterwards, just in an mp4 container. I wonder if maybe my media players only look at the first audio stream, and perhaps the order is changing.

Any hints? I am pretty new at this stuff, so this is likely something I am just plain not understanding.

Hey Atak, I have been using Ripbot for almost a year now and I LOVE IT.

But recently with one movie I am having an issue, hopefully you can help me out.

Now, keep in mind ive converted over 100 files into mkv format, and realy no problems. But this one is making me scratch my head.

Ive tried to convert it twice now and after 12 hours each time, ripbot says all jobs finished but I go to find my newly converted file and there is no file?!

Ive had this happen to me once, but I think I realized I did not have enough space on my hard drive...but I find it odd ripbot did not come up with any warning or error...anyways, everytime Ripbot says job is complete, but no file? Any ideas?

...also, where exactly would I find the "log" that should tell me what issues may have occured?? I did not see anything that pointed to any specific error.

I am using the updated v1.14.6 with Vista 64 (as Im typing this I realize there is a newer version...perhaps I should try that now!)

I'm trying to encode a standard DVD backup and it seems RipBot264 has some troubles handling the M2V file produced by DVD Decrypter.

I have DVD Decrypter set to demux the M2V and AC3 streams. When I load the M2V up in RipBot it seems to work just fine. I'll leave it alone to encode and when I come back a while later it says the encode is complete... but no files were created.

I checked the temp folder and it looks like it's only getting through the first pass of the encode process? I'm not sure where else to look for status updates on what might be happening.

So I guess my question is two fold:

First - Anyone able to provide some clarity on what's happening?
Second - How can I troubleshoot issues like this in the future? Can I enable some debug logging?

CleanCapture attachment is from the original file.

This problem is occurring on every encode and any file I try to encode. Nothing on my W7 system has changed that I am aware of other than upgrading Ripbot from 1.14.6 to 1.15.0.

I use ripbot264 to compress some of my dvd to mkv using profile HIGH 4.0 and CQ24.
I noticed a smaller size in encoded files after upgrading to ripbot 1.14.5.
Is there anything wrong or changed in this version?

I have the same question as QUEENFAN. I rip all of my Blu-ray discs in the same way (CQ 18), and I've recently noticed that the file size of my .mkvs are considerably smaller than they used to be.

For example, I recently encoded the Director's Cut of Watchmen. That version is 3 hours, and at CQ18 video compression the file size is 10.7GB. Honestly, I wouldn't have been surprised if .mkv was 20GB or something around there. I've checked the movie in a bunch of different spots (haven't watched the whole thing yet) and it looks perfect.

I have another example. A year ago (with whatever the current version of Ripbot was) I encoded my HD-DVD copy of Blade Runner at CQ18, and the file size was 14.5GB. I re-encoded it 2 days ago from version 1.15 and now the file size with the same settings I used a year ago is now 7.4GB. I've spot-checked this file and it looks great as well.

So did something vastly improve in Ripbot recently? I just want to make sure there's nothing wrong with my new encodes.

I've run into a strange problem with trying to encode District 9. I picked it up on blu-ray the day it came out, and I can play it in TMT3 just fine, I can rip it to my hdd just fine with DVDfab and play the m2ts file. However when I try to load the m2ts into ripbot to encode it I get the following error:

I've removed all codecs, re-installed as per the FAQ and info in the first post. did some searching and found someone else had a similar issue and that fixed it for them...however mine doesn't seem to want to cooperate. I've even gone as far as re-installing Windows and starting with just the basics. Same error.

I see the errors in the video-log.txt and the arcsoft decoders so I replaced those, same error.

It seems to work with other m2ts files from other Blu-Rays I've bought, but for whatever reason District 9 gives me this error. Any ideas?

The easiest way is to run AnyDVD HD and then select .m2ts directly from disc in Ripbot264.

I tried all of those - nothing seemed to work. What ended up working was using tsmuxer to re-mux to a .ts file, then feed that to ripbot. I'm encoding it now, so I'll see how it turns out.

Thanks for the suggestions - I had tried some of those before re-ripping the entire disc. Must be something funny with the m2ts file on this one. Anyone else have this issue with this movie?

When trying to turn a mkv (Kickboxer 720P) to a AVCHD. I'm getting the error of "Is not a valid floating point value". I've tried reinstalling ripbot, restarting, and it's only giving me a issue with the convert. This is the first time I've had any problem with this software. Here's the log info:

i was trying to convert a MKV File (h264+aac+srt) with RipBot264 and i get this message "Unable to load function: (OptimFROG.dll)"

I tried again in other pc and it worked, maybe it's codecs conflict but, i don't use codec packs.

After that, i tried each file separately, first I loaded the video and everything was fine, but when i loaded the audio file, ffdshow Video decoder icon appear in systray next to haali media spliter icon and later the OptimFROG.dll message appear.

i have installed, Xvid 1.0.3, ffdshow rev3154, QuickTime alternative 3.0.1, Real Media Alternative 2.0.1, Haali Media Splitter 1.9.42.1, Avisynth 2.8 and AC3Filter 1.62b

Any sugestion?

EDIT: i remaned the file bass_ofr.dll to bass_ofr.dll_ and it worked, but i don't know why...

Could you implement in a future release more options regarding CRF values? For example you could give us a wider range from 16-26 (or even more) in a more detailed manner (like 16,17,18 and so on and not 18,20,22...) - kind of like in Staxrip...

For the time being if i want to encode in CRF21 (just an example) i have to edit the .cmd in the job folder - would be nice if these options could be selectable from within the gui...

I think that should be not too much trouble for you...

When AviSynth load BassAudio.dll, all bass_*.dll are loaded also (needed or not) and bass_ofr.dll try to load OptimFROG.dll.

There are two options:
- If you need OptimFROG decoder put both files (bass_ofr.dll and OptimFROG.dll) in your AviSynth plugins folder. You can download the last version here (http://www.un4seen.com/bass.html).

- If you don't need OptimFROG decoder delete bass_ofr.dll, rename to '.dll_' also work because only .dll are loaded, but is useless, you can always download a correct pair bass_ofr.dll and OptimFROG.dll.

have an issue with the saving file to a hard drive after decoding the film to prepare for encoding
if i choose other drive for the ouput than the one given by the software itself , usually by default c:/
i get no file at all at the end of the encoding .no trace .
i had hard drives with bigger spaces than c .
and when i choose d drive for example or m drive { my 2 other drives}for saving the file to encode in the output section , and i have a lot of space left , i get 0 files saved and nothing in the folder i saved the file for the encoding at all .
i get ripbot has finished encoding .but nothing
i was encoding postman in blu-ray ripped last time and i had to leave it to ouput in c drive to get the job done . if not i get nothing in any other drive i choose . that happened in windows xp and 7 .
let me know if i don't do something right . cause i can't figure it out . i presume it is a bug that need to be fixed long ago . it happened with previous versions of ripbot as well.

Demuxed dts audio seems to be damaged in some weird way.
Solution:
1) After demuxing movie go to X:\Temp\RipBot264temp\jobx folder (do not close ripbot!)
2) open Blu-Ray_ExtractStreams.cmd in notepad
3) remove this section from first line
1: "X:\temp\RipBot264temp\jobx\video.mkv" -seekToIFrames

modify 2: section like this
2: "x:\temp\RipBot264temp\job1\audio_Undetermined.flac"

4) Save file and close notepad
5) Double click on Blu-Ray_ExtractStreams.cmd
6) add .flac file in ripbot
