I don't think so, got nearly 4 GB free space, these videos are maximum 2GB. (on the other partitions i got 104 - 200 GB free space)

Edit: Ok, i think you're right, my C partition just has got like 4 GB, the problem is, that Rip bot decodes the video and audio in the "temp" folder.
So i got a 2 GB video.264 data and a audio data, then he muxes both together but still on the C partition and then sends the final video to the output folder.
Can i change the RipBot264temps folder?

After DE finishes, the server just sits there, w/o even any error. Doesn't mux or anything.

Interestingly, even muxing manually doesn't appear to work though chunks are all there.

Yeah, that's the first thing I did. Both cmd windows were open for like a split second and no muxed file appeared.

Re-installed everything from scratch. Will see how this goes. Has to be like fifth time already (at least) when I have to re-install the software because of some odd fault.

Hi All

I keep getting demuxing errors on all the blu ray discs i try to convert to either mkv or mp4.

This is a recent occurence. I have uninstalled all codecs and re-installed them. I have also downloaded the latest version of ripbot and am using the recent version of AnyDVD HD.

Any help or suggestions?

Firstly, I'd like to say thanks for all your efforts on this excellent piece of software. I have been using it for a year or so now and it makes my life so much simpler and is very easy to use. Please keep up the great work! :)

I've recently started using distributed encoding but I am finding that on my main PC it isn't using all the CPU properly - only utilizing 1 or 4 cores.

I either need to get it to use all four cores or I need to increase the number or instances of the Encoding Server running. I'd prefer the first option if it's possible.

Also, are there any command-line arguments for the encoding server so that I can specify the IP address and port number to use?

Ah, ok - that's a pity. Multiple instances are working so at least I can get around it.

One last question: why does it have to copy the tools and the source video file to a shared folder every time? I have shared the RipBot tools folder and the source video folder is also shared. What am I missing?

Because all remote PCs must have access to those tools and video file. Besides it is easier for me to have all necessary files in one Job folder (paths and so on). For better stability source file is also remuxed to .mkv (audio and subtitles are discarded to save space). Indexer works better with mkv files.

I would also like to express my thanks for your wonderful software. Once I figured out the interface, especially the forced sub-titles, I've had a very easy time recoding to mkv.

However, even though I have a hex-core Intel processor which OC'd to 4.2 GHz, and 32 GB of 2133 RAM running at full speed, I'd like to see if the recoding process will run faster. Therefore, I'd like to know if redirecting the temporary files for the recode from a SATA3 HD (7200 RPM) onto a suitably sized SSD (SATA3) would appreciably increase the throughput, resulting in a reduction of recode time. Any assistance you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Atak, was there a particular reason for not using the latest x264 r2377? Thanks for adding Opus audio, i'm also wondering if there would be a way for me to use QAAC without manually editing job"x"_encodeaudio.cmd in the temp directory before starting the encode. Is there a way to use command line options inside of ripbot264 for the audio compressors, i'd like to use VBR modes instead of CBR. Thanks again, always excited to see an update from you.

Im suggesting a switch to Qaac as it does have a mode that can support the upper frequencies and even its cbr mode handles better as well. There was a listening test over at hyrdrogenaudio forum that favored Qaac too, although those tests were performed at 96kbps.

Sorry but your method does not measure all aspects of perceived quality. QAAC preservers extra 0.75kHz-1kHz but does this mean that it always sound better than Fraunhofer's encoder? For example HE-AAC 128 kbps can "preserve" (SBR) whole range (22.1kHz/24kHz) but does this mean it will sound better than LC-AAC 128 kbps with cut off point at 16kHz/17kHz?

I know my method is just a visual representation but, several listening tests have been done as well, the following has a couple compiled together http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=1574350#post1574350 SBR is only an approximation and will never sound as good. The audible differences are noticeable between them in their max quality modes, qaac being the better sounding, bass response is better and transients are sharper.

Getting nothing but avs2yuv errors when using SetMemoryMax(1500)/SetMTMode(5) - before source/SetMTMode(2) -after.

w/o any MT it finally starts to work in a snail-like fashion.

I've updated both ffdshow and Haali.

edit: just tried avs2yuv manually w/ the script. I mean, I tried the test.exe in the folder. Read 10 frames then I got the Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Libary error.
Should I update that too, but with what version?

CoreAudioToolbox.dll and CoreFoundation.dll found in Apple Application Support.msi If you have iTunes installed you already have the files and QAAC will use them. If you are like me and don't particularly like apple ;) You can download Itunes and extract the "AppleApplicationSupport.msi" file and install just that portion.
