Thanks for replying. Hmm, so you think it's cause I have Java x64 installed? I don't like installing stuff I don't really need and already have. What is java needed for anyway in ripbot? bd2up2sub ?
Many programs use Java, install both versions

would it be possible to add denoise options into the Batch dialog?

sometimes I want to re-encode 20+ clips and denoise them a bit after adding them all into batch I have to open them one by one and add denoise option.

:thanks:

would it be possible to manually update the "plugins" used in Ripbot?

I also use MeGUI in conjunction with Ripbot and was wondering if I could use the most recent version of the various plugins (x264 for example) that MeGUI downloads with Ripbot.

I am very OCD when it comes to updates. and was thinking about copy/paste the latest versions to the ripbot plugins folder.

Hi Atak,

I'm currently converting my whole BD- and DVD-Collection to make it accessible over a NAS for my HTPC and Raspberry Pi. Unfortunatly I've noticed that every movie out of 5 produces the "avs2yuv stopped working" - Error. Always the same movies but on different encoding - status. So i.e. one Movie stops the first time on 36%. On the second try at 57%. So it does not seem to be a corrupted sources.
Even I wonder that it is "avs2yuv.exe" which crashes instead of "avs2yuv64.exe" as I'm on a 64bit - System.

On DVDs I sometimes get the message that no Video-Stream could be indexed after "Combining VOBs..." finished.

My System is a complete fresh install with only ffdshow as the "codec pack".

My System:
Windows 8 x64
Intel Core i7-4770k
16GB RAM

AviSynth 2.5
ffdshow v1.3.4500 Official
ffdshow x64 v1.3.4500 Official
Haali Media Splitter (23/06/2013)
Java 7 Update 40
Java 7 Update 40 (64-bit)

Would be great If you could help me in any case. Using RipBot264 from the first day and I love it.

P.S. Another small wish: Would be great If you could turn RipBot to a multi-RIP - Tool. Just to make ripping DVDs much easier (get the main-movie by it's own as it does for BDs). Or to ad H.265 in future as it gets more importent ... in the future.

Thanks a lot!

This random behaviour on the same source means that something is wrong with your system. CPU is overheating, memory fault ...

On DVDs I sometimes get the message that no Video-Stream could be indexed after "Combining VOBs..." finished.
Try preprocessing problematic DVD first in DVDFabDecrypter. There are few modes to try.

Or to ad H.265 in future as it gets more importent ... in the future.
h.265 is still in very early stage of the development. It will take few years before we get decent x265 encoder.

Thanks for the hint. I've allready checked that. LinX, Prime95, memtest86 and smartmontools haven't found any problems. It's quite strange that it only effects the exact same movies.

Can you tell me where I can change the script so I can encode an AVCHD disc with master audio, I believe this was to be addressed in the next update, at the moment I am having to make mkv's which is not my preferred format and please dont say use FLAC as that is not the option I want.

Many thanks

Have you seen AVCHD specs?

Neil1976
22nd September 2013, 13:39
Yes I have read it but I make these type of discs all the time and they all work perfectly, AVCHD is in the blu-ray family after all. The crap part is that I have to encode without sound and then add the audio in with tsMuxer, the problems is the calculations with the overhead that the AVCHD uses (same as blu-ray) so when making a BD25 I hardly ever get 100% of the disc used, thats why I need ripbot to except MA or TrueHD so I take up more of the disc and also get 7.1 sound, trust me it works perfectly.

Atak_Snajpera

Ripbot264 also can't calculate correct size for DTS-MA. You can try with DEMUX option though.

Hi,

sorry if I may annoy you but I still have problems with avs2yuv which stops working every time on the same sources.
I've twice checked my hardware with a bunch of tools. Even in windows and linux and everything is fine.

Then I've check every source, codec, bitrate etc. of my movies and they all have something in common. Every video-stream is VC-1 - encoded.

So may thats the major problem. So if anyone has an idea how to fix the VC-1 - Problem under Windows 8 x64 that would be fantastic!!!

Neil1976

I use demux but it errors as you said before you disabled this option for AVCHD hence I have had to use MKV and then tsMuxer to convert to AVCHD

Yes it is/was present all the time.

Have noticed ever since upgarding my system to the new intel Haswell CPU, i have been having hit and miss performance when using RipBot. Basically RipBot is causing my system to get the Blue Screen Of Death (BSOD). I can got 5 encodes and then the 6th will crash the system, or got just 2 and get BSOD.

I used the program, WhoCrashed with give system code each time the system crashes, and the code im getting is, 0x3B. here is the log file for the crash....

On Mon 23/09/2013 18:05:13 GMT your computer crashed
crash dump file: C:\Windows\Minidump\092313-8704-01.dmp
This was probably caused by the following module: atikmdag.sys (atikmdag+0x7AB99)
Bugcheck code: 0x3B (0xC0000094, 0xFFFFF880072B0B99, 0xFFFFF880070488E0, 0x0)

Bug check description: This indicates that an exception happened while executing a routine that transitions from non-privileged code to privileged code.
This appears to be a typical software driver bug and is not likely to be caused by a hardware problem.
A third party driver was identified as the probable root cause of this system error. It is suggested you look for an update for the following driver: atikmdag.sys (ATI Radeon Kernel Mode Driver, Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.).
Google query: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION

Is seems to point to the ATI Kernel Mode Driver, Ripbit appears to be the only program that cause my system to crash. Has anybody else had problems at all with ATI based cards....or though im not even sure how or why my ATI GPU would have anything to do with RipBot?

Since I rolled back to Win7 EVERY problem is gone. Shame about the 25€ I've paid for Win8 Pro but ... who cares? :)

Edit: By the way. Till now I have seen a lot of people who had ATI-Driver-Problems under Win8. So the implementation seems buggy.

Hi!

Is there any way in RipBot264 to rip more than one audio track? I like to have both the original language track + the french audio track when available, but the GUI seem to be limited to one audio track and one sub track only...

Presently I have to use eac3to to extract the second audio and sub track and then use mkvmerge to insert them in the final package. It would be more convenient if I could do it in one shot within ripbot.

have you ever consider doing such a modification to this wonderful utility?

Darksoul71

@Tuxon86: I am not Atak but i answer anyway. Support for multiple language audio tracks has been asked before and ignored. So chances are low that this will be implemented any time soon. Similar to other things such as local characters in filenames

Not really...the rest of the functionality is still great. I would rather use a tool chain around RipBot to extract and re-merge the additional audio tracks to your final movie. At least if you are happy with the functions RipBot provides.

In the end: One that mainly wants to do BD backup to a certain format gets pretty much all he needs by simply using the standard tools (x264 / ffmpeg / ea3to / etc) and glues them together with some scripting language (Python / AutoIt / AHK). When choosing the right tool chain, things do even run on Linux and Windows.

hai atak... how to fix this?? http://i.imgur.com/WBUyp8l.jpg

Neil1976

Hi Atak, I have worked out how ripbot can calculate Lossless audio (DTSHD MA & TrueHD) going back to our earlier conversation.

Firstly we know that ripbot knows how to calculate the core of the audio so you subtract that amount the size of the total size of the lossless audio (in bytes to be most accurate).
Ripbot has some default sizes, I am choosing 23830MB (I am assuming that this figure does take the core audio in account)

That allowed me to shrink a full size blu-ray to a BD25 and I was only 1% out once the video and audio was muxed together with tsMuxer, so I would say minus 50MB to be on the safe side.

Is that helpful and something you could build in to Ripbot?

I've been using distributed encoding for a while, today I left my computer processing a batch job, when I came home I found my daughter had logged me off and turned off the PC

So I restarted the job, but only the server on the host PC works, all other servers flick between IDLE/ENCODING and the status line flicks between Queue and 192.168.0.7: -> Starting...

I've rebooted all computers, checked IP addresses, but can't think what else it could be.

Any idea's what's caused this or how to fix it please?

Thanks Atak for the quick reply. I manually reshared the folder, but I can't see any of the shared folders on the host PC, as far as the other PC's are concerned it doesn't exist when I try to access it, so there lies my problem. The host PC can see the other PC's shared folders though, and I can ping the host PC. I expect it windows playing about. At least I know where to look now, :thanks:

Edit: After shutting down and restarting the host PC, I can now access it's shares from other PCs, so I expect distributed encoding will now work ok next time.

After experiencing that same problem, I finally figured out that it is happening with PAL videos. Every time I loaded a PAL video I get that same error. Since the Playstation 3 won't play PAL videos, it has become sort of a warning for me, to look for another video to process with RipBot264...

How come .avi's don't work with Distributed Encoding even though config file says otherwise? Tried with a lossless avi and it just started to encode it on the primary pc, not the server one.

Also, plugins that may require reading an external file, even if in the temp dir, makes the program function improperly so that no crucial info file is created. Just saw this with tdecimate reading txt file.

1) What codec do you use for lossless file?

2) I don't understand your problem. ffm2 also must save index file in order to work properly.

1) Lagarith

2) I particularly meant the txt files Yatta produces and which are read with FieldDeint & TDecimate. When I insert the Deinterlace bit into the Ripbot script and do the same with Decimate bit, the program doesn't produce any info file and hence, can't encode.

Furthermore, I haven't had any success to make scripts with external file readings to work previously, either. For instance, for variable framerate I would first do tfm/tdecimate and make files via Virtualdub, then I'd read those files again with tfm/tdecimate in order to encode. But can't with Ripbot.

And what's worse, given that I can do all the 2-step business with Yatta at once & just make intermediary Lossless file, Ripbot doesn't do distributed encoding with it so it's pointless.

Don't know if I can explain any clearer.

Hi,

Quick question. I've noticed on a few blurays the autocrop seems a bit strange

White House Down detects as 138,2,140,2 - Why is it setting the sides to crop 2. I've checked the film and having it set as 2 means you actually loose a tiny bit of the picture (granted not much, but still). also, does the top and bottom look ok with having different numbers?

Star Trek The Motion Picture is really wrong though as half the screen is missing. I had to do that one manually.

Thanks!

Always crop manually, shouldn't lean on doing everything automatically so much. And 138 is wrong as well, it has to be evenly 140/140, + I have yet to see a BD which requires cropping left/right, heh.

Sometimes there are vetrical black lines, left and right, that's the 2 pixels left and right. Same thing top and bottom, that's how you get 138. I always remove them.
Always check cropping before you begin the job.
You can't crop left 2 right 0, the remaining pixels should be a multiple of 4, so it should be 2 left and 2 right or 4 0.

And check the size below to get the proper 1920x800

would it be possible to add Subtitle options into the Batch dialog?
e.g. always insert all subtitles
and would it be possible to add the command line options for mkvmerge (--engage no_cue_duration --engage no_cue_relative_position)?

Why do i get an "Source File could not be indexed" while using DC?

I do not get it, it worked perfect for about a year and now this error.

Reinstalled everything, nothing changed ...

Source file are various x264 mkv files.

How well would Ripbot perform, with a XEON E5 2697 v2 12 core CPU ????

If you were to ask me, Id say aside from some slight NUMA latency, RipBot is a stellar performer with multi-core, multi-processor systems.

This particular encode is using the Hi10P Slower preset.

Also, my cat is sleeping on the exhaust vents which is why my temps are higher - But she is happy, so oh well :sly:

Atak, If I've not said this over the years, Thank you for such a wonderful program. I've been using RipBot for longer than I can remember and you, this program and Doom9 Forums have helped my understanding of video encoding greatly.

Ever in Seattle, I'll buy you a %Drink_Choice%

@Metaphor:
I am a bit curious, you are only getting around 11fps in first pass (uploaded picture) with that highend CPU.
FullHD Stream? What settings?
Because in first pass I get over 30fps with an normal OCed (4.4GHz 3570K)
2nd pass with "very slow" is still over 10fps.
