Hi Atak ! I really like the new version (adding jobs while encoding :)) !

I was wondering if it would be possible in a future release to use hardware-accelerated decoding ? For those who have an ATI/nVidia video card. Encoding will be faster because the CPU will only be used to encode. That sounds awesome, isn't it ?

Is it possible to make it happen :D ?.

you checked to make sure it wasn't an issue with your current anydvd version?
tried changing (VC-1) codecs with ffdshow?
full uninstall of FFDshow / reboot / reinstall?
someone had a list of install order a few pages back. might want to find that. it seemed to help a few people when installing things in a specific order

i dont think it could have to do with anydvd because i have the most current version and i rip blu rays to my hard drive before using ripbot.

i havent tried changing vc-1 codecs but it happens with blu rays that arent vc-1 too and i dont have any trouble playing vc-1 files so i dont think that is it either.

i tried uninstalling ffdshow and i tried installing everything in the order specified but that didnt work either :confused:

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling Haali and Avisynth? I would uninstall all of that, including ffdshow, and reinstall it all to see if you can fix your problem.

I don't recall the order of installation ever affecting me. I honestly can't remember in what order I installed Avisynth and Haali.

There could be the problem...RipBot264 v1.16.3 does not require a specific installing order.
You can try to DELETE all adjacent softs that compete in operation of this program ,and re-install latest versions of them...

I am trying to rip a blu-ray to and iPad compatible MP4 (720p) that can also do double duty on my HTPC with 5.1 audio. I am hoping to get forced subtitles as well as chapter markers. It's the chapter markers that is driving me crazy. I just can't seem to find any setting or option for them although RipBot obviously know they're there? Am I missing something obvious or does RipBot just not do chapter markers?

pacaveli211 was correct, it was difficult to understand what you were implying and this has nothing to do with a "language forum" (as you so put it), just common sense. When you don't describe something to someone properly and use the proper terms, then there is a chance that they will either still not understand you or mess something up because you described it wrong. I've been reading these posts for quite sometime now and honestly, Benjyv, you have been rude, degrading, and unappreciative of the help people have tried to give you. It's OK if you go ahead and "ignore" this post but for someone who is not really technically inclined in this field, I think that you are the last one who should try to help someone, especially with the bad attitude and condescending tone that you bring to the board.

Oh, and in our country (as in most countries including most likely your own), you don't have to be a specialist to use well-known or specialized terms. People in this country are allowed to use any terms they like to.

Hi, I have a multi-angle movie (Final Fantasy VII Advent Children Complete).
I can't open the playlist file in RipBot, so I choose the first movie file, and RipBot automatically links all movie files, but it selects the movie files for the first angle...
Is there a way for me to choose which angle RipBot chooses?

Not always but out of 5 files i re-encoded with 1.16.3 3 of them ended up with audio being out of sync.

this type of problem was rather uncommon with 1.16.2

and I have not checked a/v sync in preview, the computer that renders videos doesn't have speakers, is just a "render" box.

I will open ripbot on my main rig and check the preview.

a/v sync is ok when original video is played in WMP or PowerDVD.

recorded .ts could be damaged. Probably decoder during decoding droped some frames. Try this. change extension to .m2ts.(This will force remuxing to .mkv by eac3to)

Atak - There are a lot of options out there, but Ripbot is clearly the best IMO.

Hey Atak, thanks for your updates.

But I have to disagree with you, PSP "listens" in fact to --SAR values. When I encode straight from avisynth to x264, i give them and no problems, except for the fact that the PSP only cares about those 2 standard values:

-720x480 (16/9)= --SAR 40:33
-720x480 (4/3)= --SAR 10:11

Any other proportion won't work.

In 640x480 also there are a couple of values that work, being 640x480 (16/9)= --SAR 4:3 and for aspect 4/3 you don't need to give it, as it's 1:1

Funny, I was wondering to ask you to implement the possibility of modify the command line, just to add those sar values on my own.

PS: Those AR values also work with mp4box, using --par in the commandline. That's what I used to do with the resulting ripbot files.

Selectable Subtitle error:

When trying to add a subtitle I got the following error message and Ripbot freezes:

"Cannot open File
D:\Temp\Ripbot264temp\job1\17_subtitles_german_1080.sub The System could not find the given file"

(but in the temp job folder there are alle subtitles files with the .sup sufix)

This error appeared suddenly and now i get this error message every time while using ripbot.

My System is Win7 64Bit.

Does anyone have a clue to this issue?

True. Nevertheless according to my math --sar 1185:1000 is more accurate than --sar 40:33.
1.185 * 720 = 853
853 / 480 = 1.777 (~16:9)

0.889 * 720 = 640
640 / 480 = 1.333 (4:3)

Right, and sometimes you can even feel it, that the widescreen effect it's a little awkward or not precise, but that's what sony left us to deal with (as many other things)

I've managed to tweak the PSP profile with the SAR value and now it's better than never, not having to touch the resulting file, unless I need a second audio language.

By the way, I have an issue. From certain time to now, I cannot get decent preview, it's not just a problem of sync, but also jerky playback. I've tried uninstalling ffdshow, avisynth and haali, rebooting and reinstalling new version, but nothing works. DirectX update to the last, and I can't think of anything else. It started to happen, I think, with ffdshow 3300 or higher, but Im not sure.

Any thoughts?

PS: My cpu stays at 50% at most during this jerky preview

I just finished a fresh install of Win 7 Ultimate x64. Except for uTorrent the only other pieces of software installed are RipBot264 and the 4 required programs. I fired up Ripbot, pointed it to a Bluray folder on one of my HDs, Ripbot recognizes the main stream, Audio, and Subtitles...but once I click OK I get a pop up that I'm missing MSCVP71.DLL. I get this pop up three times, then the demuxing begins. I noticed that the temp files "job1" got stored on D:\, where as the RipBot program is located in C:\. demuxing finishes and I can choose the custom output, which I select MP4. Click done and click start, I get initializing then all jobs finished within about 2 seconds without any output file produced.

Please help. I searched and found a lot via google but nothing related directly to Ripbot.

Thanks. I don't care that much about preview, but I was just wondering if "bad preview" means "bad encode"? I read some people were asked if preview was in sync, when they talked about sync problems, so I thought I had it even worse, since at least with VC1 I cannot get decent preview after all.

Thanks for the link, I no longer get the pop up but it still isn't producing a final file. after it's done demuxing and I'm back to the main screen to start the job, I click on start and get please wait...initializing and then all jobs finished within the next second or two. Has anyone seen this before?
