Atak, good news, I found this site, and I did what it said, now I have:

Video + 2 audio + 2 subs + chapters working on iPhone :) You need Dumpster or Ultra-Edit, mp4box and Quicktime Pro

This what you do:
- encode your movie in h264 and put it in a mp4 container (mp4box -add video.h264 -new output.mp4)
- encode your audio to AAC (max. 2 streams)
- rip your subtitles to srt (max. 2 steams)
- convert your srt subs to ttxt subs (mp4box -ttxt sub1.srt)
- add you subs each seperate in a m4v container (mp4box -add sub1.ttxt -new sub1.m4v)
- change moov/trak/mdia/hdlr/coponent subtype from 'text' to 'sbtl' in either Dumpster (hex value: 7362746c) or Ultra-Edit (just rename text to sbtl) of your (m4v) subs
- open your output.mp4 in Quicktime Pro
- open your audio1.aac in Quicktime Pro, go to Edit -> Select All -> Copy
- go to your output.mp4 en do Edit -> Add to Movie
- do this for your 2nd audio track and your 1st and 2nd subtitle track (m4v files). !Remember to bring the slider back to the beginning after eacht time you paste something into the movie
- Now go to Windows -> Show Movie Properties in your output.mp4 file
- select the 1st audio track and go to 'Other Settings', set the language, and choose the 2nd audio track in the field 'Alternate'
- select the 2nd audio track and go to 'Other Settings', set the language, and uncheck this audio track since the 1st will be your default track
- uncheck both subtitle streams, set their languages, and chosse the 2nd subtitle stream in the 'Alternate' field of the 1st subtitle stream
- save the movie and sync up!

You do all that just to watch a video on an Iphone? Guess you have lots of time. I hope Atak will put in the option of creating a BD-R (25GB) and keeping the original audio. Of course I realize that is not posssible with Dolby TruHD (tsmuxer messes it up) but does work with DTS HD. Another option he could do is have eacto convert the Dolby TruHD to lpcm first then figure the video size. That is how I do it now.

I started ripbot 1.11.2 when I got a popop error : failed to get data for 'wmv1'. And when I import a movie after the audio is demux.. the screen freeze. I have the video track and audio track shown.. but all the others fields stay gray.

there is something wrong with 1.11.2, not sure what is causing it, but older versions worked fine.

when I create a new job, and browse for video, after the video track index, it just shows the video file name in video box, and nothing else happens.

If selected it will over write avisynth, FFDshow, and Haali but will not delete any extra filters or file that you manually put in to folders.

The installers that get downloaded by this installer (when selected) are of the same type and do nothing but extract the files into the already existing folders with an over write command (Nothing is deleted but might be over written)...

It's pretty self explanatory once you give it a try...

It allows you the user to install ripbot264, avisynth, haali, and ffdshow by choice... It installs shortcuts to the desktop StartMenu and the main project in x:\program files\ripbot264\*.*...

When ever I release a new version it has the most up to date version of the project and the latest FFdshow, Haali splitter and when the situation permits the latest avisynth.

So give it a try if you don't like it then you don't have to use it... Most people who are noobs or just want a simple strait forward installer that installs the software required. Love it...

Last count (accumulative) is 1987 downloads since I started building them... Only had 15 support requests and fixed all noted failings of the installer... Currently when adding subtitles RipBot always defaults to the temp job folder for every job. Any chance of making the default path for the subtitle option stick/remember the previous path? Or, default to the path of the selected video?

I also have the same problem as BZeeme in post #2921 above when using V1.11.1 or v1.11.2 when playing a DVD+9 AVCHD Blu Ray movie of Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull backup on a Panasonic BD30 Blu Ray stand-alone player. The player locks-up if I tray to skip to the next chapter or pause play. You have to eject the disc or power off the player to reset. This issue is not present in V1.10.8.

This issue is NOT present if I play the backup via PowerDVD v7 or v8 on a PC..

I seem to have problem with both 1.11.1 and 1.11.2. The video generated seems not as smooth (slight slow motion) when played back. 1.10.8 was ok.

I'm using CQ=18, mkv, profile 4.0.


I've tried the following :

1. enabled b-pyramid in 1.11.1 inside the profile, and set both bitrate to 30000 similar to 1.10.8.

2. i've even replaced the x264 from 1.10.8

3. I've also replaced the mkvtoolnix from 1.10.8

When i use mediainfo to compare both files, they video have the same settings... yet the one from 1.10.8 plays smoothly.

I've running from a quad core Q9300, 4GB memory, vista home premium

Videos longer than 2h don't properly fit on a DVD-DL in 1080p. I have done several 2h - 2h15 backups lately and the bitrate drops as low as 7500k, and this is with only 1 DTS audio track (So we can forget about 2 audio tracks).

And at this bitrate I start to see some compression pixelation in several scenes. Below 8000k the video starts to lose too much detail, 8M should be the minimum for 1080p. Below that going to 720p is recommended.

1080p multi audio and 2h15+ movie backups are not possible on DVD-DL (maybe if you replace the full DTS track with an AC3 track you can go to something like 2h20, but even then you already lose detail in the picture).

So yes, BD to BD backups would allow to compress the 30+Gb m2ts files down to 25Gb, maintaining full 1080p glory and multi audio tracks.

Yes it's cheaper (although BD-R 25's are becoming cheaper now), but there's no point in having a 50" plasma and good quality HD audio home cinema system if you going to compress quality to such a low level without HD Audio.
I think RipBot264 is great, but mine, and probably other's desires of the program will change as single layer BD-R's become more affordable. I use as as a kind of DVD Shrink for Blu-Ray's.
I assume the new TViX models won't be hampered by only supporting lower bitrates, the new models will have support to bitstream out DTS-HD and TrueHD.
At the end of the day it's your software that we're all taking advantage of and it's up to you to choose the direction you take it in. I would hope that it could include single layer BD-R facilities (including keeping HD Audio) as well as higher compression for DVD's.

I only do 720p as it takes around 12 hours shorter.

Everytime I have done a disc there has been another version. :) btw, now I tested it, I had no problems wit AVCHD and a Sony S350 player

Cartoons fit in 1080p on a single layer DVD5. But not movies.

And I have again done 5 or 6 1080p 2 hour movies backups on dual layer DVD9 last week. This was with the latest ripbot (0.10.8 to 0.11.2) using the latest version of x264 (1016 to 1028). When I was getting bitrates under 8M (and even at 8M, 9-10M was better) it was very clear that I was starting to lose picture quality compared to the blu-ray. The picture is smoothed out, losing detail, and in some scenes, especially on skin and people's faces there were compression artifacts. This is on a fullHD 46" TV.

Yes you can backup a 2h 1080p movie to DVD5, but the picture is smoothed out so much that the upscaled mpeg2 DVD will probably look even better than this. You lose the 1080p picture detail. Anyway, 2 hour movies will look MUCH better on a DVD5 in 720p than 1080p.

I see the difference on 46" and it is very obvious. Many other people have confirmed this on these forums and on other forums like avs and highdef all over. There are dozens of posts about this. At lower than 8M you are starting to lose too much picture detail with 1080p, the picture gets smoothed out. When this happens 720p will look better.

No I don't have a problem with 1080p on DVD. 2 hour movies fit nicely on a DVD9. But forget 2 hour 1080p movies on a DVD5 as well as 3 hour movies on DVD9.

There are however some 1080p blu-ray movies that rather look like upscaled DVDs, so you can probably fit those on a DVD5. This also applies to cartoons. But not quality highdef content.

I can't even fit longer movies in 720p on a DVD5. I once compressed King Kong (3h) to 720p on a DVD5, many scenes were ugly (but overall it was still somewhat ok).

Anyway, there are posts all over the web from people who don't even see the difference between mpeg2 DVDs and highdef Blu-rays. So if you are happy with 1080p on DVD5 that's all that counts.

Ah ok, so the picture probably isn't as detailed on a projector as it is on an LCD screen if you can't see the difference between 720p and 1080p content (I agree that the difference is not huge). On quality LCD screens you clearly see the difference starting from somewhere around 40".

But I have also seen some lower quality LCD screens where you don't really see a difference.

You don't see the layer change at all. Where I was seeing the layer change with my Sony DVD player (on original DVDs), here I don't see it on my burned BD9s on the blu-ray player. The movie just plays straight through it. You can just burn it as usual, there is nothing to worry about (at least using Nero 9).
