Subtitles Problem
While converting mkv/x264 videos to a smaller size I've been having the problem of the included subtitles being hardcoded into the converted video.
On the Edit Job > Properties settings I've choose "Do not use subtitles" but they keep being hardcoded.
Could someone please tell me how to stop this from happening. It's ruined alot of videos.
Incase this info helps. I often add videos to the queue to be processed later, reopening Ripbot when needed.

I can confirm that this solution worked perfectly for me. It should indeed work for you as well!

Is anyone else able to use ripbot with 64 bit jvm and jre?
Do that step by step:
Deinstall all Java REs / SDKs
Install Java RE/SDK 32-bit
Install Java RE/SDK 64-bit
Now everything should work fine!

That 20%-30% speedup probably only refers to the time spent on the mbtree algorithm, not to the overall speed of an encode.
ahh never thought about that, cheers

Except I have to have both jvm's installed and my JAVA_HOME would have to be the 32 bit. Sort of makes the 64bit Java install redundant.

No... 64-Bit web-browsers need 64-Bit Java... if you have a 64-Bit OS you should have BOTH x86 and x64 extension versions installed...

meh, no need unless you're using IE x64 (everything else is x86 as far as I know)
I'm not sure if an x64 flash was ever released or not

There is a very good working Beta... I have been using it for months and months... Here is the link if you are interested. I never (Or I should say very rarely) use x86 IE... 64-Bit is much faster and crisper. It also has less add-ons :)

Never put any files other than links on your desktop. Tools which add files in the same directory will clutter it until you don't remember what's important for your Windows' health and what isn't.
Make a directory on a data partition (if you have more than one, and you should – for security and speed). Place your video files there. That keeps your desktop clean. If you absolutely need quick access there, copy a link to that directory to your desktop...

1. No audio probably because the ffmpeg in RipBot264 cannot extract/copy the audio stream from your .avi that seems to be warez.
2. Output directory contains "illegal" characters, that is due to your windows user name. Change your output directory to "D:\" .

Since you are playing dumb, I've struck you rule 6 for this violation and for an earlier obvious rule 6 violation. If you come back after your suspension, you need to READ and OBEY our forum rules if you want to stay around here. That means no discussion of downloaded or torrent files.

you can try increasing your DPI in display settings (it's under the resolution tab and then the advanced button or something, I don't have xp so I can't tell you exactly based on memory alone =P)
this will affect everything though, not just ripbot

Still staying with XP SP2 might be seen as "suicide trip"... I hope this machine is far away from the Internet. ;) And there is already software which requires SP3 as minimum.
There seems to be an issue with some possibly corrupt font files. No idea how to fix that reliably. But falling back to "System" looks serious to me.

To make your PC part of a bot network and have it send out spam mails or attack other PCs – without you even noticing.
How certain can you be not having a rootkit? And you might catch one easily. Like by browsing the web with insecure software. Even by just being connected, depending on the vulnerability of the unfixed security hole.
SP3 alone may not protect you from all that. But many following updates require it as base.
But well ... that's not the topic here.
