It does work. I always use 200% for PSP and difference is HUUGE. Period.

It does work. I always use 200% for PSP and difference is HUUGE. Period.

Yeah , right and 100% accurate? Did you know that TV broadcasters and some AVCHD camcorders tend to flag pure progressive source as interlaced? Every fast method based on mediainfo will fail! More accurate algos are slooooow as hell compared to my eyes.

One way is to correct the DAR flag afterwards in mkvtoolnix

I am wondering whether there is a way to override the playlist selection made by RipBot264 at the beginning of a project. The vast majority of times, RipBot264 picks the right playlist, but every now and then it gets it wrong. When I have noticed this, it has been with BDs that have very long playlists with many chapters. It seems like the playlist selection is based on finding the playlist with the most chapters. In the most recent time I experienced this, the playlist (for a ~90 minute movie) had 70 chapters.

When this has happened I have forced RipBot264 to pick the right playlist, by removing all playlists except the "right" one from the PLAYLIST directory.

Is there a better way of dealing with this? I think I may be missing something, because I do not see any other posts on this issue.

Ok, for this one the only subtitle tracks listed by ripbot are the ones for all dialogue in the movie, how do I simply get the forced subtitles for the small bits of foreign dialogue?

I've ripped it twice but the forced subtitles (if that is the proper term) don't show as they do in the original. So if they are embedded in the m2ts file then they are getting lost somehow. I'm lost on this one.

Ok, I got around it by downloading the correct subtitle track online, however I can't for the life of me find the same subtitle track (foreign dialogue only) on the original disc.

One subtitle track was the complete English subtitle for the whole movie, and the other seemed like a full English subtitle for hearing impaired (door closes, loud explosion, etc).

Seems weird.

What's a good profile to use for proper playback on an original XBOX using XBMC? I tried using Handbrake but the playback was too choppy, thought I'd try Ripbot instead.

I would start with Basic iphone profile. Resolution should not be higher than 640x480.

i had the same problem a while ago. i uninstalled all videotools, filters, codecs and such (e.g. also the Combined Community Codec Pack), then reinstalled only the stuff required for ripbot. the problem never occured again since then.

Thanks for this - I removed the majority of my playback/decoding s/w and re-installed ripbot, avisynth, ffdshow and haali- Success!!! im now able to make properly sized files :D

Earlier post I had submitted I was running Win7 RC. Now running Win7 RTM

I have a fresh install of Windows 7 RTM, Core 2 Quad, 2 GB Ram and plenty of drive. I am trying to convert .m2ts files to stream to my ps3. I was having no problems on my Vista box (but haven't tried v1.14.3 from Vista) with these video sources (blu-ray .m2ts files). The issue I'm now having is this:

It gets through the "Encoding Audio" but seems to get stuck on the "Please Wait - Initializing". I can leave it for over 24 hours and it stays stuck on this.

I show a process by the name of x264_x86.exe using 25% CPU and 700k RAM. Nothing shows up in the Ripbot Logs folder.

Any ideas to get me going in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. I've had no problems in the past using Ripbot and I love the program. Great job with the coding!

I've run into an odd framerate issue. The original Blu-Ray is 23.976fps and the demuxed .ts is recognised as 23.976fps by Media Info. But Ripbot is analysing the video stream as 24fps... I went ahead with the encode anyway, and the created .mkv is labeled as 24fps and the A/V is out out of sync. However, I've remuxed with MKVMerge and stamped the video as 23.976fps and this re-sync's it back up. But, my question is...will the video quality be affected in anyway by this?

This is the best easy reencode program I have ever used, but recently I moved to windows 7 RTM 64 bits and I began to have problems with vc1 m2ts reencodes.
Although I have configured ffdshow to manage vc1 throught libavcoded, it always change back to wm9 and the result is ripbot264 gets an error message with mpc hc showing something like line 2 error (I don't remember specific message now).
Is is a specific windows 7 problem ?
I have not had any h264 m2ts re-encoding issue by now.

Thank you very much for your interest! I think I have found my problem. It has got to be with the fact that windows 7 has some issues in managing directshow filters preferences. I have done as told in that post http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=146910 and everything runs perfect now !!!

With use of Tool for changing preferred DirectShow filters in Windows 7 everything is perfect again !! I have changed 32 bits preferences, not the 64 bits ones :thanks:

I have an MKV (1280X544) which is in 2.35 widescreen.

When I try to make a BD disc out of the MKV with TSMuxer, the disc plays back in squeezed 4:3 format...even though the MKV itself is in 2.35 and plays back properly on my PC.

What should I change in RipBot that would signal to TSMuxer that the aspect ratio is 2.35 (i.e. adjust under "Size" to HD Full, etc.? Do I need to crop?).

But ripbot264 can't encode the resulting videostream.

I tried last night to convert my m2ts of Crimson Tide, but when I load it up in Ripbot all the chapter information is lost. How can I retain the chapter info?

The movie was split into 3 m2ts files on the disc so I used tsmuxer to join them making sure to select the playlist file (which showed all the correct chapter listings).

I wanted to do that but how would this be accomplished with movies that are split between a few m2ts files?

de- & re-installed all I could find. Still same problem. mkv & ac3 files in the job1 folder and all cmd files appear to run OK (did your pause trick). Both mkv & ac3 files are separately playable in vlc

Thanks got it, one last question. I had to use another program to embed forced subtitles into the video. I have a 1080p mkv of that movie, can I use ripbot to resize that file down to 720p without losing chapters?

yes. if original mkv has chapters. chapters are automatically extracted and imported into new mkv.

I loaded up the BD so I could encode it down to 720p. However, when I hit encode there is no info at the bottom of the ripbot screen saying what % it's at. It's completely blank. I don't remember it doing this on other encodes. I checked my CPU usage and it's 50% so it appears ripbot is going, and the temp folder has all the files in it. I just have no display to see how it's going.


Edit: Looks like I have the same issue as Ken does. x264_x86.exe is only using 620k of memory but 50% CPU.

Have a bit of an issue, trying to re-encode 'Cloverfield' blu ray to 480x272 with the PSP profile. It whizzes through the encode at something silly like 500fps and then gives me an MP4 which is only something like 8 minutes long. If I don't resize and use the Blu Ray profile it correctly re-encodes.

Anyone got any idea what is causing this?

Uninstall AviSynth , Haali Media Spliter , FFdshow. Update manually x264_x86.exe (http://jeeb.fiveforty.jp/x264/1235/x264.exe) and x264_x64.exe (http://jeeb.fiveforty.jp/x264/1235_x64/x264.exe)

I was curious of the command that you use when running BDSup2Sub. I have a BD that's 24fps instead of 23.976fps and the subtitle is out of sync.

I manually ran the following from the cmd shell:

% java -jar BDSup2Sub.jar 4_Subtitles_English.sup 4_Subtitles_English_1080.sup /res:1080 /fps:keep


Now, the sup file is 24fps instead of 23.976fps. I was curious if you passed other options.

Hey, i would like to know what setting is more good? Im ripping right now at 1080p (HD full) and with QC - 20. It gives me about 10-15gig each movies. Its big but i dont really want to loose quality. Can i go 22? Or you could see the diference? I have a 48inch Plasma TV. And is QC better than 2 pass method? I know with QC i cant make the output size. So im gessing thats better right?

PS: and all the other programmes, like ffdshow, haali media splitter, do i need to change some of these settings? Or its all good if i keep it like it is?

Be more specific. Where are you selecting the subtitle. Hint: selecting the subtitle for the demuxing process doesn't automatically add it to the encode.

I had the same issue. Wouldn't show up and no players could display it even though it appeared to be added when viewing the encoded video file with mediainfo. When trying to add the sub with build in picture, ripbot would just hang after the encoding was finished, freezing on "muxing".

Okay I did some more research. The only difference between 4.0 and 4.1 is bitrate. The author of RipBot feels strongly that there is no reason to go to 4.1. What does the bitrate mean in terms of quality? If there is no difference why does the standard exist? Thanks.
