What??

Oops, didn't see that one. I used the other custom ...

Ok, then i need support for subtitles ripping. Right now i use Vsrip to create idx and sub and then load them into Ripbot, but it would be nice to have that function "built in".

It works with Bluray, but not DVD - or am i missing something .... again ... :)

Can we now use the new Matroska Splitter released on 19/12/2009? A few weeks ago Atak said to use the older version (Atak´s post on the first page, but the warning is missing now).

Hi Atak,

Please can advise on this question above? :thanks:

RipBot keeps messing with my ffdshow settings. I have my own decoders selected and I don't want to use the settings RipBot uses. Can you make an option to disable auto configuration of ffdshow?

Frankly it does not matter which version you use... Both use the same sources.

ok, i'm using the CLSID version now but i can't play m2ts files
with VC-1 with wmp or wmp classic!?!?

maybe i have to set in the ffdshow filter to use "libavcodec" insted of "wmv9"?

thx for your answer atak

I use libavcodec for H264, VC and MPEG2 but RipBot sets them to the following settings each time I run RipBot:
H264: ffmpeg-mt
VC1: wmv9
MPEG2: libavcodec.

That is exactly the same error i got a few weeks ago. I resolved it by deleting the "locale" folder. Do you have installed mkvtoolnix? Please deinstall, and delete the registry entry of mkvtoolnix (search for it).

ARE YOU REALLY SURE THERE IS NO GERMAN UMLAUT IN THE FOLDER OR FILENAME YOU WANT TO ADD? JUST TRIED IT WITH "Tränen der Sonne" -> NO AUDIO, RENAMED IT TO "Traenen der Sonne" -> AUDIO WORKS

Just tried Ripbot last night for the first time.

I have a question. I am encoding a DVD-VIDEO (MPEG 2) to MKV. I pointed Ripbot to the Video_TS. RIpbot indexed the files and came up with the proper info streams. I went through and auto-cropped, selected copy audio.

However, I did not see the available subtitles to select to put in my MKV container. Where is the option for DVD video? I think I've seen it when encoding Blu-Rays...but did not see it for DVD-VIDEO

TIA :thanks:

This has been discussed numerous times before. Atak is allowing the lossless conversion of HD audio (TrueHD, DTS-HD Master, PCM) to FLAC. FLAC is a more efficient compression container and in most instances saves space. Any PC can playback multichannel FLAC without breaking a sweat and the XBOX and PS3 can stream FLAC via most UPNP servers (I would recommend PS3 Media Server).

Maybe you have already answered this, but do you have the Arcsoft decoder installed? I see you are trying to convert DTS-HD MA to FLAC, without the decoder installed it will be impossible.

Edit: Probably should have read back a page to see what precisely was the problem. I see you are trying to do a 5.1 downmix, but the content you are converting is already 5.1. I don't think RipBot shows the 5.1 downmix option unless the content has more than 6 channels.

Didn't know DTS MA could come in 5.1.... I thought DTS MA was all 7.1?

Atak do I need the Arcsoft?

Or is my FFdshow need to be set to 7.1 or?

DTS-HD MA just means uncompressed / lossless. I've seen it in 5.1/6.1/7.1

if you're going to downmix to DTS 1.5 just use tsmuxer (downconvert HD audio), or if you want to keep the original track just demux / mux it back in after encoding

Yes i use tsmuxer to downcovert to 5.1 sources then mux it back with Ripbot - I am trying to eliminate a step!

The downmix option is only available on sources with greater than 6 channels. You will not see the option otherwise. I have used it many times without issue.

I change/modify audio tracks as little as possible. And as far as I know ripbot won't output any DTS (other than copying). so I never do any audio processing with ripbot. if I have HD audio I just use tsmuxer or eac3to to extract the core. I was talkin about downconvert, which is not the same thing as downmix. but you also end up with a 5.1 track after doing the downconvert.

When i rencode a bly-ray movie, with CQ 18, the movie from 15gb become 9.5gb (around).
Isnt this too much?!?!

I also see always some artifacts/pixelation if (while playing) i move the movie forward...is this normal or what?
(this happen with CF 18 or with 2-pass bly-ray movie)

Someone can suggest me better settings for bly-ray in "profile/advanced"?
(I dont care about the output size)

hope in your help :)

I was seeing pixelation with my profile settings and the newer r1471 x264 when using KMPlayer with CoreAVC 2.0 By change I opened the same file up with Windows Media player using the latest FFDshow 3305 (tryout version) and pixelation is gone.

BTW, I noticed the link in the new 1.15.1 Ripbot for FDShow say minimuim version 3300, however the link goes to a 3299. you can find a 3305 tryout if you look..works fine

Same for MPC HomeCinema.

humm...this "artifacts/pixelation" have to do with the conversion process or only with the codec?

Atak say that there is no difference about the ffdshow version you are using...
Currently i'm using the xxl version, before i used the clsid one.
Now you say to use the tryout...links for the tryout (32 & 64)?
(if remember i have to install both under windows 7 64 bit, correct?

And...

sometimes i see the same artifact (not always) using tversity to stream hd movie to my lcd with PS3.

anyway, which are the best settings for bly-ray under "profile/advanced"?
There are so many options and i'm lost...

i'd like to know if there is a guide/help about are all these settings (where you select bly-ray 4.0 profile) - "profile/advanced"!!! there is?

sorry to make so many questions and aksing so many info!!!
and thx again for you help and patience! :)

weird, I re-encoded an m2ts (from blu-ray) with vc-1 and dtsma about 4 days ago with 15.0 just fine. Had the same Haali version installed, the latest from december.

edit, yap, VC-1 in m2ts works fine with 15.0 and latest version of Haali

I previously explained what doesn't work with the new haali: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=1369193

just one question.

(I dont care about the output size)

hope in your help :)
thx a lot
if you don't care about size stop compressing / re-encoding your movies. I guarantee you won't get any pixelations then.

I built an HTPC for my living room and I will use use it as a rip box while not in use.
I'm getting the ffdshow and Haali warning when starting RipBot 1.15.1.

In the HTPC I have latest version of win7codecs installed which comes with the latest tryout of ffdshow and the most recent version of Haali. I've read here that one must revert to an older version of Haali for VC-1 to work. Is there a way to skip those checks like many versions ago?

I don't need VC-1 support right now and I know for sure that I have the most recent build of ffdshow tryouts. I can use the new version 1.15.1 with these checks.

Thanks.

Yea i know :D

Ok the size dont care, but some movie are really toooooo big!
Around 12/15GB, each one, its ok for my htpc with a buffalo nas.
So i have all my movie ready to play :) but i cant buy 200 buffalo nas :D too much expensive!

I'd like to compress my movie, not too much, but with a good quality.

thats why i'm asking about the problem!

.

so only playback issue, works fine with powerdvd.

that is the problem, you can't use ripbot 1.15.1 unless you change your haali version, since ripbot itself works fine with new haali, i wish there would be simple way to ignore that check

However, I still have the ffdshow warning.
The version I have is 3309 but somehow RipBot keeps telling that I need at least 3300.

Any advice? thanks.

shark sometimes forgets to update the registry information for ffdshow, you have to go into registry and change the version number yourself.

for 64bit ffshow go to

LOCAL_Machine\Software\GNU\ffdshow64 and look for revision, change the decimal value to 3309

for 32bit ffdshow go to

LOCAL_Machine\Software\Wow6432Node\GNU\ffdshow and again look for revision, and change it to 3309

It didn't occur to me. Thanks for the tip.

I will notice shark so he can update those revision entries for applications that read them like RipBot264.
