I have a small beef/suggestion that RipBot264 NEEDS... The Properties window is fantastic and has just about everything we need, however there is a small yet very important thing missing. And that is AddBorders(). As we all know Blu-Ray and AVCHD must be specifc sizes (eg 1920x1080, etc etc) and addborders is the easiest way to get a 1920x800 file to spec without any special work. The current way to do this in RipBot264 is with the resize pulldowns, but we don't want to resize... just add borders. So to do this we have to manually insert the AddBorders() to the bottom of the script to do what we want without resizing. I am sure there is a way for another pulldown option to allow us to add borders without manual insertion

Saves as: Container MKV.
Profiles Video: Hight 4.0 HD, Bluray, Consoles --> Encoder settings - does nothing (automatic)
Profiles Audio: 5.1 AC-3 448 Kbps.
Normalize: 100% (When activated)
CQ: 20 Very Good ou CQ: 18 Excellent --> In this case, the encoding time and file size may increase by between 20% and 30%, CQ=20 should be ideal.
Selectable Subtitles: Embed subtitle (Optional)
Propriedades - Picture Properties
CROP: Automatically (and wait...)
Size: HD-Ready 1280 x 720
Permanent Subtitles: Optional - First of all use the Subresync to convert SRT/SSA and configure it.

448 kbps is crap. at the very least I'd keep the cores 1536 DTS and 640 AC3
changing framerate is unnecessary and will only potentially cause problems
mbc0 keep in mind some blurays will not always have a single m2ts for the movie

changing framerate is unnecessary and will only potentially cause problems448kbps is hardly "crap", and it's virtually impossible to tell the difference between 640 and 448!
Still, if an audiotrack can be "cored" to 640 then that's typically what I'll do. If it's a 1536 DTS then I will convert to 448kbps DD. :p
Look at this article: (http://www.hemagazine.com/node/Dolby_TrueHD_DTS-MA_versus_Uncompressed_PCM?page=0%2C0)
The shocker came when we compared the lower 448 kbps Dolby Digital DVD bitrate to the original. There was an audible difference, but it was only ever-so-slightly noticeable (and this is with a high end audio system in an acoustically controlled environment that is so far beyond what typical home theater systems are capable of resolving).

448 is still crap. an average trueHD track is 2500-3500kbps
ripbot has a 640kbps encode option too, you don't have to use 448
soneca
8th March 2011, 20:58
Of course they have that option with less compression will be the one I use!
Dolby Digital/448kbps never been bad, not even close ...
Forget the numbers a bit and listen more closely.

In the RipBot, there is no option for DUAL AUDIO...
That is very much asked by me and many people.
LigH
9th March 2011, 09:59
The limitation to 448 kbps will be related to the DVD era. DVD specs limited AC3 to 448 kbps even though AC3 alone (A-52a) would have supported up to 640 kbps. Unfortunately, AC3 decoder manufacturers made chips which also supported only up to 448 kbps, and so A/V receivers existed which were incompatible to e.g. AC3Filter/ffdshow on-the-fly recoding multi channel audio to AC3 with 640 kbps.
Modern Blu-ray Home Cinema sets should be compatible to 640 kbps AC3, though...

Many Thanks For The Info Guys, This is pretty much what I have been doing and I have been using 640 on the AC3, I have had great results except I have hit a few 90 minute movies that came out close to the 10gb size!! for those I chose 2 pass 4000 kbps & got a 2.5-3gb file size & excellent results on the media center....I have already found a few of the split m2ts movies & used tsmuxer to make one big file....
Thanks Again
soneca
9th March 2011, 14:00
I have tested the DD 640kbps on some older receivers without problems.
Some of the first receivers with Dolby Digital decoder had a defect and can not accept this bitrate tracks, despite the limit of 640kbps always be part of the specifications Dolby Digital.

I'm using RipBot264 1.16.4
I encoded a few short videos from m2ts to mp4, then exited. I decided to re-encode with a few different settings, but I can't Edit the jobs in the queue.
I get an error message:
Cannot Open file "C:\Apps(x86)\RibBot264\Tools\MediaInfo\.bmp"
Which, of course, is an invalid file name.
Any ideas?
Edit:
I re-created the jobs because I remember the settings. But something went wrong with RipBot anyway.

do a manual crop...
Thanks Paca. I tried the manual crop. The picture seems OK, but I now get black bars at the top and bottom of the picture, which I never had before. It makes me think the picture is 1920x816, but includes the black bars. If I crop automatically, it cuts off the picture. I've done a number of movies this way and never had this problem before. I don't understand what's going on here. Thanks for any help.

specifically I want HD demux and copy
Dual audio wouldn't be useful to me, but by no means would it be a bad thing to have
zazon - after you set the manual crop did you set the options for the crop?
if it is in fact a 2.35:1 movie you should be cropping about 132px off the top and bottom
and as soneca said....you'll want to check (preview script) to make sure it all looks ok

When English is the original audio, for those who master it does not matter one second audio.
But for users from other countries, the second audio is necessary.

Just out of curiosity, are you planning on making ripbot work with an x64 version of ffdshow? I installed rev3771 x64 (SVN builds by clsid) and Ripbot still wouldn't run until I installed rev3500+ with a 32 bit build. Let me know asap! Love your work and would love to donate money to keep you going at it!

I setup a job using the default settings HD, Blu-Ray, Consoles setting using .mp4 container. Uninstall everything again, restart the System and use the basic cleaning of the programs below, in the order.
Uninstall... AviSynth, Haali Splitter and ffdshow.
Following the steps below you can return to install everything again.
First of all, let's eliminate some potential conflicts. Follow the steps...
It is essential and necessary that you use the two clean programs below.
MV RegClean 6.0 is an excellent cleaner for Windows, it follows an old tool from Microsoft. Very light and efficient.
Both are 100% Free, while the MV RegClean has a lot of advertisements and is maintained by donations. Not Spam.
The advertisements are extracted when registered through a donation negligible.
Even with the advertisements he usually works. MV RegClean surpasses 11 million downloads.

Eliminate everything that is found by MV RegClean. He makes an automatic backup for safety.
2º) CCleaner Slim: http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download/slim
When there is an update of CCleaner, this "Slim version" takes about 24 hours to be available.
Reinstall in the order...
