Atak... You should consider working on enabling drag and drop for the batch window ;)
Loving this app more and more every day as I am gettiing more and more PC's networked to use. Up to 4 now. Today should add another one. This really helps me cut down on the size of my home videos.

Hello guys once again.
I'm having difficult encoding this sample (40 mb) http://www12.zippyshare.com/v/15596813/file.html
It is interlaced and I don't know how to deinterlace it.
Also I'd like to know which is the best crop for it. Just think I didn't crop it well becouse of the age of the movie (maybe a different AR then usual old movies)
I can't solve it by myslef so please help!
Atak_Snajpera

The source looks like this (PROGRESSIVE FRAME and INTERLACED)
PP I PPP I PPP I PP II
I think you will have to accept duplicated frames because this movie was originally recorded at 12 - 15 fps.(I'm guessing). So you will have to use TFF -> 29.97 fps.

This is the movie http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Safety-Last-Blu-ray/68387/
They say:
"The film is also presented at a variable frame rate of approximately 22 frames per second to conform to film historian and restorer Kevin Brownlow's presentation and the Carl Davis score that accompanies it. This new digital transfer was created in 2K resolution on a DTF Scanity film scanner from a 35mm nitrate print from Harold Lloyd's personal collection, made from the original negative. Thousands of instances of dirt, debris, scratches, splices and warps were manually removed using MTI's DRS and Pixel Farm's PFClean, while Image Systems' Phoenix was used for small dirt, jitter, flicker, and grain management.
So which is the correct FPS?
PP I PPP I PPP I PP II - What's the place I should enter this code for deinterlacing?
Atak_Snajpera
18th June 2013, 19:48
Correction. It turns out that Inverse Telecine + Decimate may work better. You will still have one duplicated frame due to original fps (22 fps vs 23.976 fps)

Hi, to all, but to "Atak" expecially!
Rip-bot video options are really sufficient. (Without 4K yet!) But, how about adding more sound options?
I want to see choosable bitrate options not only for aac upto 256bit with the latest build.
For example my mobile phone Sony xperia Z doesn't support aac. With software aac codec from MX Player causes jumps, not stable, or the proccesor power is not sufficient.
I need to re-use BeLight to convert aac to ac3. Why not adding just a couple of more audio options inside audio menu? :script: Because after choosing low bitrate, setting a higher bitrate won't give you a better frequency, only a little bit of more sound level.
(By the way, I am waiting to see 4K support soon...)

Hmmm, Ripbot doesnt appear to like my new Haswell CPu chip that much, causes my PC to BSOD, but other encoders dont. Seems to use use 100% cpu load on all the cores as well, but again other encoders dont use anywhere neat 100% load :(

@BlockABoots, 100% load on 1st or 2nd pass? 2nd pass is normal, and if you're using the latest x264 it's more aggressive on 1st pass as well.

Hi Atak_Snajpera,
I wanted to try your RipBot264 software ... just to play around, but I decided to run the Zipped folder thru VirusTotal.com before trying them ...
Well, I ran versions 1.16.4, 1.16.5 and 1.17.4 and they all came back with 1 or 2 Warnings ... and Not all of the Virus Scanners returned results ... so out of the 42 Available Scanners something between 27 to 38 returned results.
Can you or anyone else comment on this ... why VirusTotal is tagging the Zipped files as containing some Trojan or Worm!?!?
Things like "Win32/PrcView", "MadCodeHook".
Thanks,
G! :)

I have no prior knowledge of either thing you mention, but 2 minutes on google tells me they are not malware, in and of themselves. They are utilities which could potentially be used for the purpose of malware.
MadCodeHook: http://www.madshi.net/madCodeHookDescription.htm
I couldn't find where within Ripbot this is detected.
Win32/PrcView is found in Ripbot264\Tools\Process\process.exe and it is a command-line process viewer, available from http://retired.beyondlogic.org/consulting/processutil/processutil.htm

@burt123 With no more info than that I would guess that you ran out of space on the drive or access to the files to be joined got denied.

@Trayman,
I was actually running a little low on space on that drive, and now with your explanation, I'll know why, in the future :)
I thought I'd ask, and I got the answer I needed.
So thanks for that, I thought it might have been something wrong with the file being encoded.

@burt123 vjoin does not care what kind of file since it basically does a copy /b. I have not put any error handeling into it when running low on space, that will probably be added in the next version.

@meshaun:
Several month ago, I used Komisars builds for updating Ripbot each time a new revision of x264 came out.
they worked fine with no problems.
Then Komisar decided to implement some cosmetic CLI progress patches in his custom builds and encoding progress in Ripbot wasn't shown properly anymore.
Encodes were fine, it was only a "transmitting problem of progress informations to GUI".
Vanilla builds should still be fine, custom builds should still essentially work, but since then I don't know if Komisar or Atak have changed anything to be better interoperable.

Hi stylez82,
Thanks for taking the time to reply, I bet Atak_Snajpera was laughing his head off at my Totally Newbie Q.
Anyway, my gooogling must stink ... because after I ran VirusTotal, I googled the items noted and came back with scare comments (to me anyway) on prcview ... but same result as you did on madCode.
So, since I trust Doom9 and everything that Doom9 Regulars offer ... I wanted to verify that VirusTotal results might be Wrong (btw, the major companies ... did NOT report any of the anomolies ... it was the AV companies that I had never heard of) ... anyway, I tried MetaScan but it refused to Scan since it claimed that the 7z file expands to 100MB and their limit is 40 or 60MB I believe ... so then I tried Jotti's ... but it has only 20 Scanners which are almnost similar to VT ...
That is when I decided to post my Q to Atak_Snajpera and you folks ...
I am Glad at least you reposnded ... helped me and may be will reassure somebody else if have the similar Q.
Thanks again!
G! :)

Thanks, got it to split the video into more chunks. May I sugguest a feature on the next version? That is the ability to change the server amount. I have access to a computer lab and 8 is a little small.
Seem like you are defining static server allocations on the Encoding Client UI, you can reuse that by reading server list from the EncodingClient.ini, grouping the servers by group of 8 (only show 8 at a time), server1 - server8 will be in page 1, server9 - server17 will be in page 2, etc. And there will be nav button "Previous Page", "Next Page", and also a ComboBox for quick nav. When user selects Server 9 for example from the list and press "Go to Server", the UI will change to page 2.
Below is how it would look like:
http://puu.sh/3wu7y.png
Well, this is only my suggestion and how I imagine it. Heck, you might think of an even better way to implement it.
Also, how about DE over NAT/VPN, there is netAvs2Yuv by sh0dan to get the source from network, and it is possible to share folder over VPN (NetBIOS over TCP is possible too).
Finally, I want to thank you for making such an amazing program.

Simple: Yes
Complex: No
It can read left or right channel of 3D and encode it in 2D.
You can't create 3D with Ripbot, except you change yourself Avisynth Scripts.
For creating 3D, try BDtoAVCHD.

Thanks for the replies, I did do a quick test with ArcSoft MediaConverter v8, to do an SBS 3D conversion of Evil Dead 2013, but unfortunately, I couldn't watch it, as I have only just ordered a Samsung 50" LED 3D TV, so I will interesting to see how it turns out.

Hello,
I have been using RipBot off and on for about a year now and I believe I have the basics down. However, there is something I have been meaning to figure out how to do but haven't really been able to, so I figured I would ask here.
Currently, if I have a Blu-Ray boxset or movie or whatever where I want to have two audio tracks in the resulting MKV, which in this case would be the cast and crew commentary track, the only way I've found to get it is to:
1. Encode first copy of, say, an episode at desired resolution with track.
2. Make another copy of the same episode with the desired secondary track, with a much lower resolution in order to decrease time necessary to process.
3. Use MKVMerge to splice the second track into the first file, assign metadate (file name, etc.), and produce the final file.
Anyway, does anyone know of a way to just get the secondary audio track out of a given decrypted Blu-Ray so that I can then add it to that first encode? My method is obviously inefficient, for producing a postage-stamp video encode that will never be used just to get an audio track is a waste of CPU cycles.
I am using RipBot 1.17.4, newest ffdshow, Windows 7 SP1 x64, and I decrypt my Blu-Rays with AnyDVD HD.
