I'm trying to convert my blu-rays to mp4, but it looks like TrueHD or DTS-MA isn't supported. Can you guys confirm?
Also, when trying to convert to ACVHD with copying the source audio it looks like the video plays with no audio in PowerDVD and WMP. Using MediaInfo I can see the audio stream is a part of the file. I'm using pretty much default settings for ACVHD with the exception of changing audio to source.

mp4 is limited to AAC and AC3. However AC3 is not supported by majority of devices (ipod/PSP/PS3/xbox360 for example plays only AAC)
if you choose mkv then you can use lossless FLAC compression. (better compression than TrueHD and DTS-MA)

Hi Atak,
about ripbot264 1.14.6, 5 projects in the queue and one conversion as a trouble. The video is unreadable, green bars scroll fast (see sample video capture file i've done).
File Video Capture:
http://www.mediafire.com/?oymmzymmmmy
In the video capture you will see that the video resolution is (1920x800 suppose to be 1920x1080) and strange that the avs file is correct with addBorders filter.

Hi there, using latest version of Avast AntiVirus software and it claims some of the files have trojan horses in the latest build, never had a problem with this before as have been using Ripbot for quite a while? Problem exists with Ajax_undone installer and the winrar archive on Mediafire?
Has anyone else had this problem during install or copying files?

Good morning,
I use ripbot264 to compress some of my dvd to mkv using profile HIGH 4.0 and CQ24.
I noticed a smaller size in encoded files after upgrading to ripbot 1.14.5.
Is there anything wrong or changed in this version?
Thanks a lot for your help.

if you choose mkv then you can use lossless FLAC compression. (better compression than TrueHD and DTS-MA)
the problem here is that many devices don't support flac, but DO support true-hd and DTS-MA. I think thats why people keep asking for it, including myself. FLAC is fine for computer use, but not for external network devices that can play mkvs. Pleeeeease reconsider? :)

Hi Atak.
First of all: Great Software, thank you for your hard work.
Now my problem:
I want to convert the "Genesis-The Video Show" DVD. For every song there is one VOB File, so I need a very long time to add the jobs for each VOB. It would be much easier if Ripbot could import the IFO file, so I can convert the complete DVD to one single MKV (I dont want a MKV file for every 4-5min Video).
I tried a few programs that muxes VOB files together (like VOBmerge), but everytime the output was async.
Is it possible to add the option to open IFO Files with Ripbot?

I know a while back ripbot would recognize DTS-HD and True-HD and automatically extract these. Is this something that is configureable? Would like to end up with an mkv with H.264 compressed video and core audio (either standard DTS or AC3).
I've been getting around this by processing the ripped bluray feature with TSMuxer to downconvert the audio, wondering if Ripbot can again do this during the demuxing phase..
Many thanks...

this is only true in theory. i tried using a DTS track in AVCHD and it played fine on a bluray player. i think it's because AVCHD uses bluray structure and bluray players support DTS.

This is my final answer:
DTSMA -> wav -> AC 640kbps = DTS core 1,5 MBps in terms of quality.
Now tell me why would use DTS if you could get the same quality with smaller AC3??? Blind tests made by professional do not lie. Just use google.
@jacksback
I forgot to add proper downmix for 6.1 audio. You will have to wait for new version.

Ripbot plays nice with evo files. Suggest you pick the first pevob.evo or feature.evo file with Ripbot.
On a couple of titles where it didnt and in those cases used either tsmuxer or hdbrstreamextractor to pull out the necessary video/audio streams. Two titles off hand that gave me headaches were The Frightners (had interview with Peter Jackson at the begining of the file that needed be removed) and Galaxina (which had 13 evo files that made up the main feature). That title was very poorly authored.

I have problems with "2001 - Space Odyssee" converted to AVCHD.
Film begins with a 2 minutes black scene only with music.
When playing this scene at PC all is fine, but when playing AVCHD at Panasonic Player or PS3, i get stuttering sound.
I reencoded AVCHD with --min-keyint 2 --keyint 24 and scene works fine at PS3 and Pany.
So I think, default of "--min-keyint 25 --keyint 250" in Ripbot are abit too high for AVCHD.
They may work in normal films, because scenedetect reduces keyint, but when the strange thing happens that keyint really goes to 250 (for example in 2 minutes black screens) then maybe some incompatiblity pops up.
I will extract that scene and will recode it with some other keyints and min-keyints to find out at what threshold both players begin to stutter.
First step will --keyint 60 (default for rc-lookahead from preset slower onward)

hi, i just installed the newest update 14.6. i've been using 14.3 for a long time without problems.
Can someone educate me real quick on the choices of subtitle options. at the output menu upper right corner where you choose your subtitles, i click on the + sign and there're three choices,
1. english.sub
2. english.sup
3. english_forced.sup
the #2 has the largest size and #1 smallest.
i am assuming the the forced will burn the subtitle into the picture with no option of turning it off, correct? what about #1, and #2, which one do i choose if i want the subtitle to have the option to be turned off/on. which is better in your opinions.
i am really glad to see the revision history mention now that 14.6 finally have the option of implementing subtitles into the encoding in a much easier way perhaps without using another software. i guess i will find out if it really works once the encoding is done.

Yes.
if yes then replace old iphone profile with this

.
I had to rename it to "[BASE 3.0] iPOD . iPhone", because with the original name it didn'T want to convert the video stream.
But somehow the bitrates for my Doom sequence (first person shooting) are too low (200-300 kbit/s), so the quality is really bad. Not so for my other files.
Edit: It's much faster than the old profile.
