I solved my subtitle problem by moving the second 'movie' that was on the disc into another directory. It continued after that without further issue.

I didn't like the result (wasn't exactly 16/9) so I auto-cropped and streched the video to 1920x1080 (job was loaded yesterday). When I exited that menu, I got that error.

No distirbuted encoding was used. I edited last night's job.

When I reloaded the movie today and did exactly the same steps, there were no errors.

I'll try and reproduce the error, tomorrow (after compression) to write you exactly what it said.

Atak_Snajpera, I just want to say thanks! The new version now allows me to encode across four sandybridge quad cores on a domain at unbelievable speeds. A full blu-ray in under an hour, phenomenal program!!!

Something strange. Just FYI.

After a couple of encodes, I notice the final files were missing. After some investigating I found that the ":" was gone from the path in the destination. I bring it up, because I DIDN'T type it. I simply chose the directory with the GUI and somewhere along the way ripbot dropped the : from the path.

Putting the default path in the ini file solved my problem, but like I said. FYI.

Hey Atak,

Is there any particular reason that you use pgcdemux and not just do copy /b to join the vobs together ?
I tried both methods on one of my movies and then compared the resulting files using a sha1 checksum and they are exactly the same. Even checked with ppf-studio and it found zero differences.

The reason i'm wondering is that i get a dgindex error on some of my movies when there is more than one cell id in the pgc. Well actually not an dgcindex error since pgcdemux generates one file for each cell id and Ripbot264 isn't capbable to handle this so it calls dgindex with no input filename.

I tried joining one of these movies with copy /b and ran dgindex on at and it seems to have workd like it should.

I would love to try a pached version using copy /b instead of pgcdemux just to see if it goes thru like it should.
Or paus ripbot right after the combine is finished and exchange the joined vob with the copy /b one. whatever is easiest to implement for testing purposes.

That problem was corrected, but with this update normalization turned on 200% by default.
And no option to turn off when x.x copy stream is selected.

I'm also getting the same kind of Demuxing Error as Gabes. This error is occurring on a new machine I just loaded RipBot264 on. It's showing up with version 1.17.1 and 1.17.0 so there must be something else going on with the support software. Any idea what's causing this?

Thank you Atak for replying....I had a hunch that was going to be your first instinct. But I'm still stumped. I've uninstalled and reinstalled everything (Avisynth, Hali Matroska Splitter, FFDShow) twice to no prevail. Ran registry cleaners too to make sure no lingering crap was there. Double checked to make sure I didn't have any old codecs installed. Using XP so made sure Windows Media Player 11 was installed and updated. Nothing is working. Getting the same Demux Error. Any other ideas? Versions 1.17.0 and 1.17.1 work great on 3 other machines in my possession (2 XP and 1 Windows 7 machines). It's this new machine I'm setting up that is fickle.

Update: I got it to work. Finally after 2 days. I was using ffdshow_rev4436 and decided to switch to a different version. I tried ffdshow_rev4422 instead and this did the trick. I am no longer getting a Demux Error from RipBot's interface with this version of ffdshow. That's weird because rev4436 is working just fine on my other machines.

Personally, I uninstalled all codecs (except java) and reinstalled them with ffd one changed and running ripbot from archive not from windows. Try these. I'm using RipBot264v1.16.5. http://www.girlshare.ro/3779404.2

As well for console compatibility I will need to use mp4 container with AAC audio right? Thats fine with me, but I noticed there is no simple way to convert subs from bluray to mp4 without having to recheck each line for spelling errors.
No need to OCR when you convert the PGS to Vobsubs with BDSUP2SUP or does the console require SRT?

DVDFab show a check mark next to subtitles, and since I never use them, I figure why have them there? I guess it is text and size may be negligible
Vobsubs on DVDs are bitmaps not text.

My DVD rip doesn't have idx files. Only ifo, bup and vob files.
Use VSrip to extract idx/sub from them.

Added: Chapters are now automatically adjusted if output speed changes ( for example 25 fps -> 23.976 conversion )

I'm converting 24fps -> 23.976, and the tsmuxer.meta file is missing the chapters info causing tsmuser.exe to crash. The chapters.txt file is present in the jobx directory.

in Ripbot program folder is a further subfolder called "profiles" where those settings are stored in txt-files.
You can easily copy&paste (like Atak said) or manually edit your preffered settings.

You only have to have a little bit of knowledge about x264 cli switches.

Hi,

nice application! I find that feature about "distributed encoding" particularly interesting as I would like to hook up a few old-timers on my local for that purpose. However, I have a few questions in that regard (excuse me if they have already been answered in this very long thread):

(Q1) How does RipBot264 choose the length of the chunks? From the screenshots on the first page, it looks like they all have same constant length. And on a related matter, how are they encoded? I am asking this because applying same x264 settings, including target avg bitrate, to video chunks with constant length is not quite the same as encoding the whole video with the same x264 settings and would lead to a very unbalanced encode bitrate-wise among other things.

(Q2) How are the chunks "merged" after encoding? By concatenating the H.264 streams? That used to give troubles with muxing into mkv and mp4, but looking at your changelog it seems you have found a workaround. Our of curiosity, does it have anything to do with the new versions of mkvtoolnix (because apparently it can now handle concatenated H.264 streams well)?

(Q3) What happens if the connection between client and server fails for some reason? Are the chunks then queued to another server, also is there any file corruption etc?
