RipBot264 on Wine hangs!

I am able to run it in Wine and do everything but when I try to load in an AVI file, it will not do what I asked. It will just stay like nothing happened. What else do I need to loading the sources? I also don't see any error messages.

hi Atak_Snajpera,

I looked into your sugestion to use Makemkv to create a mkv with the original full blu-ray video stream.

I dont know if this is ment to happen, but it seems to just load the vc1 video in a mkv which is not compatible with windows media center and xboxs & also doesnt remove the black bands at the top and bottom.

I would prefer to keep using Ripbot ;-) But could you tell me if there is a way to keep the original bitrate, but just crop the back bands?

Nah, mate. Sometimes your replies can be hard to understand but I understand you Lol. I posted here since this thread discusses about RipBot264 and there are many users using this app will read/post so I chose this thread to see if I would get any reply related to my question.

Too bad something needs to be done to get it work properly. I will also try to search for it and will provide the answer here (if I found it).

I've tried every program (AltMKV, Staxrip, MeGui, you name it). I like the simplicity of RipBot but what I really like is that I can rip my DVDs that have DTS audio to MP4. It appears BeSweet (which Staxrip uses) doesn't support DTS so you have to transcode the DTS soundtrack using another program. RipBot does it!

However there is one thing holding me back from making this my #1 program. I rip music video DVD's where the DVDs are ripped into chapter VOBs so you can build playlists of music videos from different artists. A typical music video DVD may have 15-20 chapters. With Staxrip, I can just add the entire folder of VOBs, specify settings and go. With RipBot I have to individually add each vob, change the crop and deinterlace settings (it doesn't save those from the previous job for some reason) which is WAY time consuming.

Keep up the good work. If you have add the ability to add several VOBs at once, it will be a killer program!

Thanks for the info about Haali update. I will install it because I'm not encoding right at the moment.
There's probably no benefit for people who encoding 24/7 to risk an update because the x264 is where the speed comes in.
I don't see a new version of Haali have any real performance gains but i could be mistaken though.

it been a while. I just try ripbot with a movie that contains 2 ausio track : Jap, and french.

ripbot is not able to detect the audio track. (NO AUDIO).
it works fine in Media Player.

I don't need extra audio because I like more original soundtrack.
I was raised in country where you don't have stupid dubbed versions in cinemas (Full translations with native actors).

The same here in Romania ... in cinemas and at tv, all movies have the original audio, and we read the subtitles for all foreign movies.
But ... for cartoons is a different story, these are dubbed, for kids who cannot read the subtitles.
Here are DVDs and Blu-Ray with cartoons with original english and dubbed romanian audio, and I want to keep both audio in mkv or mp4.
The kids who don't understand the english language, and cannot read, need dubbed audio, at cartoons.

RipBot does extract all available audio. You simply need to locate the extracted audio and add in the appropriate command line option to RipBot's commands to mkvmerge.

(Assuming an .mkv container):
1. Find your RipBot temp folder and the appropriate job folder.
2. Locate the additional audio file you want to include, taking note of the filepath and filename.
3. In that same job folder, find the [YourJobNumber]_MuxFiles.cmd and edit it with notepad.
4. Based on the information you see for the other audio file, you can put in the appropriate commands to include this second audio file as well. Read up on available commands in mkvmerge here (http://www.bunkus.org/videotools/mkvtoolnix/doc/mkvmerge.html).
5. Save your edited .cmd file.

*Note: Be sure to triple-check your typed commands, as any mistakes mean that mkvmerge will not be able to properly mux your file. If you have a queue, your encoded video file will be overwritten by the next in the queue. Obviously, with no muxed mkv file and an overwritten video stream, you will need to re-encode the video again. This has happened to me twice on 40 hour encodes. :mad:

I regularly add additional audio streams, and also edit this to include default languages for the video and track names for the video and audio. Works like a charm everytime.

(I have mkvtoolnix installed separately on my hdd, I didn't modify the one in the subfolder of ripbot)

and now ripbot seems to hang up on gathering information or extracting frame. AVS2AVI.exe seems to be what's hanging up. anyone else have the same trouble? I'm tryin to determine which update caused the issue.


edit: it's the ffdshow, went back to 3119 and everything works fine again

Anyway to have ripbot just "bake in" some forced subtitles without re-encoding the video again? I forgot to do it the first time, so I now I have an already RB encoded vid that's missing important forced subs.. I'd like to get em burned in there without encoding the vid twice and losing quality.. Or will I have to start over? Thx

about 30% of blu-ray discs are encoded in VC-1 (http://www.blu-raystats.com/Stats/TechStats.php) so for me current version is a HUGE step back! Simply do not use it!

BePipe.exe - Application Error

The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135). Click on OK to terminate this application.

How can I fix this issue? Source file is AVI just a 70 seconds sample. It playback fine.

EDIT: I install MS .NET 3.5 like you recommended to another user who had this issue but it didn't fix it?

Atak. I'm trying to rip tv episodes from a bluray, but for some reason, when I try to demux the first playlist in the list, ArcSoft reports an error and the demux fails. This is only happening with the first item in the list, the rest of the episodes demux fine and is happening on multiple discs. I'm not sure if it's the commands Ripbot is sending that are causing the issue or what. But its strange that its only happening on the first item all the time. It seems to fail right at the end before it says "Gathering Information."

For a temporary fix, is there a different way to demux and then convert to flac? I'm not really that experienced so I'm not sure how to do it manually.

Edit: I demuxed the playlist manually with tsmuxer and put the .dts file into ripbot. When I did, it said "extracting DTS core." I assume this means I only have 5.1 audio now and no flac? Hopefully you can find out why arcsoft only fails with the first item in every list. thanks.

I installed .NET Framework 2.0 (now MeGUI works) and the encode started and also finished but it showed the BePipe error at the beginning. I also don't see the output file too. The speed was like 103 fps! Something is wrong?

EDIT: Nevermind. I kept on retrying with new files after installing .NET Framework 2.0. So in case someone else was looking for a solution to this problem, all the changes I've done since this error shows up were (in order):

install .NET Framework 3.5 (didn't work when I only install this)
install .NET Framework 2.0

and it worked after the two installs above.

PS: I am converting at 124 fps !!! nice.

Yes, I had... but I'm not using any codec pack, and I can't understand, why RipBot suddenly started to show these error messages, then they dissapeared, and now, again, I can't rip anything, only see MPC trying to open getinfo.avs
Tried to uninstall Avisynth, ffdshow, Matroska and install again - nothing changed...

Another nice feature easy to do.. is when you click on Properties (ex : setting the build in subs). it will reprocess script probably (Gaterring informations).. that's why it take some time before this window close .

Can you just don't do this step is the user enter a second time in the Properties Window without modifing anything.

Agree, but it's only when the user click twice in the properties button (second time, he change nothing).

suppose this case :

the user click on properties, set the subs, close the window. After that he manually change the .bat, and go back into the properties and change nothing.. for me the setting that the guy change should be the script he modify.

so I don't see why reloading if the user didn't change the settings in the properties window the second time.

(because I have no idea was the source code look like, I can't say it doesn't make sense, but as a programmer, I don't see the point of the second refresh.)

Is there a way currently to add another audio track into the mkv file that ripbot264 creates? I currently have it downmixing the True HD DD or the DTS HD file but I would also like to add the DTS track to the outputted mkv file.

What is the best way for me to strip the DTS track from the movie folder then add it into the MKV file?

Thanks for the info! I was worried for a sec I would have to rencode the video. That guide in your link is pretty nice, so basicly just rip the audio out I want with tsMuxeR and then use mkvmerge to "mux" it all back together?
