great program Atak. just going to add a few suggestions.

1. adding a pause button to the gui

2. when adding a new file remember the audio normalize as off

3. make the gui maximizable

+1 for the pause!! My compressions take around 6 hours each, and if I don't time it right, then the cpu is unusable for that day or I have to cancel it and start it all over again.

Another good idea, if it is even possible, is the option to put your computer to sleep after the compression is done. I always start a compression before I go to bed. It'd be nice if it would go to sleep when the compression is done.

However, I haven't done any testing to see if the cpu will just go to sleep when it is done on it's own or not.

silly question

Does that shutdown ripbot, or does it shutdown my computer? I access it remotely often throughout the day while at work, so I need the ability to wake it up, but I can't power it up when it is off I don't believe.

And, I will just test this myself sometime this week, just wondering :)

it does not appear that I have a restore point close to the last date I remember encoding my last blu ray. I do appreciate the help...but nothing seems to be working.....its frustrating, but I think handbreake can get the job done

If you have a problem to open a MKV or MP4 (x264/H.264) or not ...
get used to do the Demux by tsMuxeR (http://www.videohelp.com/tools/tsMuxeR) and work with video files and separate audio (.264 + AC3 or DTS).
This procedure also helps to improve quality somewhat, without increasing the size of the file.

I've searched for help without any luck (google points me to a result here but the page tells me to bug off lol, and the form search doesn't take me to the page with the result on it just the this thread).

I've been using RipBot for a long time now, though recently I went from Win7 to Win7 64bit and downloaded the current version of RipBot, but now I'm getting an error and it doesn't work properly anymore, the error says, Failed to get data for 'isWhitelist' and nothing else, after that it opens but doesn't work correctly. Opening a MKV causes RipBot to sit there just saying Gathering information.... but nothing happens. Clicking abort gives me the error "External Exception C000071C", from then on it won't even exit giving that error again and the process has to be ended.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I have Windows 7 64bit and everything works perfectly for me... Blu-ray to MKV or MP4, MKV to MP4...
provided they contain audio AC3 or DTS.
I noticed now that I can not open the MKV with AAC in the RipBot.

Also I do not usually work from AAC.
The important thing for me is that the RipBot convert an AC3 or DTS to AAC, and he does it with great quality.


P.S.

Resolved: I did a mux with a MKVmerge to MP4 video with AAC audio and it worked well in RipBot.

You tried to do a "Demux" with tsMuxeR and leave only the video and audio stream that interests you.
I think you gave a "knot" in eac3to, It has a lot of audio on your MKV or Blu-ray. rs rs rs

Try again, now that way.

That's what i've did.
In RipBot i've selected these streams:
Video: h264/AVC (left eye), 1080p24 /1.001 (16:9)
Audio: DTS Hi-Res, German, 5.1 channels, 24 bits, 2046kbps, 48kHz
(core: DTS, 5.1 channels, 24 bits, 1509kbps, 48kHz)
Subtitles: Subtitle (PGS), German

So these streams will be extracted.

I've seen that only one of my Blu-Ray-Discs produces this error.
It's the "Residen Evil: Afterlife" Blu-Ray. I haven't bought the 3D - Version, just the standard
one!! But i can see that there are 2 Video-Streams (left eye / right eye).
Is it possible that RipBot (eac3to / tsMuxeR) can't handle that?

UPDATE
Demux the whole movie with tsMuxer WITHOUT using RipBot worked perfectly. Seems that's a RipBot - Problem.

Try to make a first Mux with this new version of MKVmerge (mmg) (http://www.videohelp.com/tools/MKVtoolnix), and then the Demux with tsMuxeR if you want.
The MKVmerge should show another video track.

Often, the files originated MKVmerge can not run in tsMuxeR.

In this case you would first...
1) MVmerge Mux
2) Mux to MKV in AVI-Mux GUI
3) tsMuxeR Demux.

After MKVmerge can also send direct to RipBot.

It's a little bit more complicated.
On the Blu-Ray RipBot recognizes the .mpls - file which contains the chapters, .m2ts - files and anything else.
So RipBot loads these 2 files:
00000.m2ts -> 15,3 GB; contains 1 video-stream (right-eye); all 3 audio-streams; 1 PGS-Stream
00013.m2ts -> 24 KB; contains 1 video-stream (left-eye); 0 audio-streams; 0 PGS

The strange thing is that the 00013.m2ts is far to small to have the whole left-eye-video-stream included. So it seems that this m2ts is used as a placeholder for the 3D - BluRay or something similar.
Because of the missing stream. RipBot (eac3to) crashes.

I've did the follow workaround:

1. added the 00000.m2ts to tsMuxer
2. deselected the streams i don't need
3. muxed the remaining streams into a new .m2ts - File
4. loaded that new file with ripbot and everything works fine

So it seems that on the "Resident Evil: Afterlife" - BluRay (Standard-Version) are to video-streams. A real video-stream which is located in the 00000.m2ts file and a DUMMY-video-stream in the 00013.m2ts for the 3D - Version.

I think that on the 3D-Version of that BluRay the 00013.m2ts contains a real stream.
So RipBot should check if a .m2ts is big enough to contain a Full-HD, 90min Video-Stream. IF NOT this stream shouldn't be selectable.

The last alternative would be if you use DVDFab or BD Rebuilder to separate only the main video and audio. And subtitles, if you prefer.
I guess you can not make the decrypter in BD Rebuilder, DVDFab I know that does this.

It doesn't matter which stream (left-eye/right-eye) i select, RipBot (eac3to) crashes.
My guess: RipBot things that the whole audio-stream is included in both files, the 00000.m2ts and 00013.m2ts. But it's not so RipBot says that the audio-stream is corrupt which is not!

So for now I go with the workaround to demux the 00000.m2ts externaly in tsmuxer and load the demuxed streams into RipBot. That works.

Hi guys, I'm having the same problem as GSingh but I didn't see a response solution. Diff is my OS is Vista 32 bit. I've never had this issue before and have used RB for many yrs (but never denoise feature). The only change is that I updated Ribot to latest version. I had an old version (pre-divx output). For me the result was an 1.91GB AVCHD with no actual video when played, although media info said "BDAV: 1.91GB 2hr 34mins Video: 161 kbs avc" If I don't mess with the denoise option it works fine. FYI, I did read the 1st post about having directX 9.0c, I currently have ver 10. Surely you don't mean downgrade to version 9, right? I have old vid card Nvidia GeForce 7800 GTX with drivers dated from 07/10/2010.

I just installed Windows 7 recently and ripbot is giving me problems. Same goes for my friends computer as well. first off, if I try to denoise a video, it says "LoadPlugin: unable to load "D:\Program Files\ripbot264\tools\avisynth plugins\fft3dgpu\fft3dgpu.dll" (S:\temp\ripbot264temp\job1\job1_preview.avs"

and if I just try to do a straight up 2 pass encode without any cropping or any other tweaks, it just stops at the end of the first pass.

Any solution?


Also, I saw someone else post another issue that I had as well regarding when adding subtitles sometimes it would freeze (unabe to quit, "OK" button was greyed/unable to close and therefore unable to close the add subtitle dialog window). I would have to quit program via task manager then restart windows and then it would the add subtitles function would work again (but it would eventually give me the same error again and would have to reboot, again).

Any solutions or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I need to convert a DVD 720 x 480 - Aspect Ratio 4:3 without distortion (perfectly)...
Still missing in RipBot an automatic option to convert 4:3 to 16:9. Thus there would be no need for "Manually" CROP, just resizing.
No need to resize to 720 x 540 and then cut Top=70 + Bottom=70. That would be correct, but...

At the moment I need to simulate a blu-ray using tsMuxeR, and the BD Rebuilder to convert 4:3 --> 16:9
Need to enter Setup BDRebuilder and adjust some settings. The whole process is very fast.
Then simply use the RipBot and apply the Automatically CROP --> Size --> Custom [x.xx:1] --> 720 x 400 or 720 x 406
The Aspect Ratio shown by RipBot remains 1.33:1. Do not worry.
Adding all these tasks are generated approximately 25GB of temp files (garbage).

My method crazy to work in RipBot, but it works.
1) DVDFab - DVD Decrypter (DVD-9 no compression)
2) Create a folder to save a separate copy of the muxing tsMuxeR. This folder should be empty.
3) tsMuxeR - "Add " VTS_01_1 and "Join" the other... VTS_01_2, VTS_01_3... --> muxing "Blu-ray disc"
4) BD Rebuilder - Create the files folder Blu-ray
5) RipBot - Add...
6) Open the folder generated by BD Rebuilder --> WORKFILES folder --> VID_00000 --> AUD_00000_4352
In RipBot --> Use Level: (High 3.0 or 3.1) Custom.

You can not delete anything without first finishing the encode by RipBot.

Presets BD Rebuilder:
Settings --> Output Options --> Select Target Size BD-9 (DVD-9)
Settings --> Encoder Settings --> Disable Automatic Quality Settings
Settings --> Encoder Settings --> Hight Quality (Deafault)
Settings --> Setup --> Select in...

Video Encoding Options:
- Use DEINTERLACER on interlaced sources
- Convert 4:3 to 16:9 (w/clipping)

Audio Encoding Options:
- Use 448 Kbs for AC3 encoding

The RipBot does not resize correctly from 4:3 to 16:9, the CROP does not solve one pass.
I need to resize to 720 x 540 first, then return and reencoding.
That's why I have to use extra tools, so I do not need two encodings.
Using the BD Rebuilder before taking to the RipBot, this process is straightforward.
I can not just cut Top=40 + Bottom=40, because a 4:3 aspect ratio is not correct.
If it was 720 x 480 Aspect Ratio 16:9, I resize to 720 x 400 direct, without cuts.

From the BDRip and BRRip I always use the demux tsMuxeR.
From the original DVD 720 x 480 Aspect Ratio 16:9, always choose the latter VOB.

The tsMuxeR has this function but does not work for RipBot.

It changes the aspect ratio to 1.78:1, but when you resize to 720 x 406 at the end he presents as shown below.

I always have some left over 30GB for the whole process ... :):)
Until someone show me another simpler solution, which can operate in RipBot.
I always prefer to convert my old DVDs or any video using the RipBot.
This was the only way found. I'll never give up the RipBot.

yeah I still don't understand why you're going through all that
why not just make a dvd copy?
it's not like you're getting better quality.
and I 100% disagree with cropping out parts of the video...that's no good
bluray players will play 4:3 AR material...even if you insist on burning a BD9 / BD5 or whatever you're doing
just encode to 960x720 or 1440x1080

the one you showed as incorrect you chose auto crop...auto crop isn't going to crop the movie
it cropped the pillar bars out like it should've and then resized it to 16:9 as specified
this could be played and then adjusted via your tv settings back to 4:3 if wanted
or you could change to a manual crop and add appropriate cropping to the top and bottom to achieve a 'zoom' effect to avoid the stretching
however....as I was saying, this will result in loss of some of the video
