A week? :) I've just finished encoding Avatar in less than 5h. Default level 4.0 , 1280x720 ,CRF22 and everything on my old Q6600@3Ghz ;) I think you should stick to defaults. 2-pass use only if you have logical reasons.
I just did the same, except chose to use 2-pass because I wanted to make sure I could archive it onto a DVD-DL disk. It only took 6 hours even with 2-pass, on an I7-920 Dell. After demuxing had finished, I opened the English-Forced .sup with BDSup2Sub, converted to 1280x720 size, exported. Chose to burn the subs into picture, worked beautifully!
You've got a great program here! :thanks:

Wouldn't be simpler to just import .sup directly in RipBot264???

Hello I'm Maurizio from Italy, I successfully copied (it works well) with AnyDVD HD 6.6.4.0 through a protected image file of blue-ray disc, now in an attempt to create a MKV file or an AVCHD folder with RipBot264v1.15.1, after demuxing it froze and it get following error:
DirectShowSource: DirectShowSource : Graph refused to run.:
Dimensioni non impostate. Impossibile allocare memoria.
(C:\temp\RipBot264temp\job1\getinfo.avs, line 2)
I tried to update the various RipBot tools, but the result does not change. Anyone can help me?

Hmm, will the next update include support for OGM files? The other converter I'm trying is giving me audio sync problems. (Psp Video Converter) I'd much rather use this one, but if it's too much to ask I don't mind.
Drat, ignored. :P
It's all good, no hard feelings on this end.

Sure, would have been simpler. But those subs are sized for 1080P video, I wanted smaller subs for 720P, that's why I resized them. :)

Okay so instead of bothering you to add ogm support I went on a small little journey to unpack the ogm and then repack as an mkv. But for some reason the English audio picks up a delay. The Japanese audio is just fine. I'm probably just going to fix it manually with the mkvmerge delay feature. Then I'll use Ripbot, which I just want to tell you, is an excellent program, and I thank you for creating it.
Edit:
Well it turned out I had to delay the audio by a full second. Odd, how it picked that up.

You should use 1080p subs because they will look better on 1920x1080 display.

Sorry for pestering, but for converting a 480p anime file to a psp compatible mp4 file is there a crf which produces higher quality? Or should I just leave it on 22? So far everything I've done I've just left at 22, but I'm wondering what type of difference it makes.

lower value = higher quality and larger size
higher value = lower quality and smaller size
crf22 is a good tradeoff

25mbps is enough for movies
23866 MB (bd-sl) = 24438784 KB
25000kbps (video) + 4608kbps (uncompressed 5.1 audio 16bit) = 29608kbps = 3701KB/s
24438784 / 3701 = 6603 s / 60 = 110 min

Hi ,
I know that Ripbot 264 has included eac3to .
I need to resize few files which are too large after encoding BD into 720p.
Resulting 3 files : a LPCM of 2 GB , a DTS of 987 MB and an AC3 of 980 MB.
I wanna convert them to maximum 200-300 MB each , doesn't matter the quality ( I know the problem )
So , in this case , can I use Ripbot ?? and how ??
If no , I must use eac3to , but I didn't found yet an interface for it...
can smb help me ???
THX !!
PS : One MORE question :
When a movie has 4 or 5 sound tracks , how can I encode ALL of them , in the same time using Ripbot ???
Is there such a possibility ???
If there isn't , how can I encode / convert them separatelly and how can I attach them to the movie ??

I had the same problem with Fist of Legend US version and what I did was:
I demuxed the movie with tsMuxer to get the audio files.
I am in the process of encoding the movie without audio.
When done I will add the audio to it with mkvtoolnix.
The audio tracks in the movie are all AC3 2.0 with bitrate 192-224 so there is no need to recode them but if they were DTS I would just use PopCorn AudioConverter to recode them from the finished mkv.

Use this as a GUI for eac3to to convert your audio tracks:
eac3to GUI (http://www.videohelp.com/tools/eac3to)
You can use tsMuxer to demux audio tracks and convert them separately. tsMuxer can also remux the video, audio, and subtitle files if you want separate versions. It will do MKVs and AVCHDs.

Can I encode IN THE SAME TIME 2 , 3 or 4 sound tracks using Ripbot ???...like subtitles , for instance....
I think NO ...also every DTS or other kind of sound tracks is automatically converted to AC3 file.
My problem is how to resize the sound files ???
Does eac3to has an interface to easy work with it ???

You should use 1080p subs because they will look better on 1920x1080 display.
Keep in mind though that some players (such as the PCH A200/C200) do not support 1080p subs in mkvs currently. I have to downres them to 480p
EDIT - nevermind, you are talking about burned in subs, I am talking about IDX/SUB subs muxed in

Can do otherwise, only video.
But to convert only the audio will have to use eacto3.

I hardly encode these days not even with StaxRip but since I got a new monitor I'm playing around now with different applications checking how fonts look. Until today I had 17" 1024x768 analog monitor, a good Samsung SyncMaster. In RipBot264 fonts were very hard to read, I remember you said you expect people to have a good LCD so I though problem is probably my analog monitor. Now I have a Samsung P2370 which is 23" at 1920x1080 using 150% system font size, it looks just as bad as before :), very hard to read. In the 'Encoding settings' dialog, fonts look really really bad here. You probably have perfect eye sight and a perfectly adjusted high quality LCD but I guarantee you there are countless users were things look very very bad due to bad eyes, bad monitor or both. My eye sight is poor, I'm 34 now and sadly it gets a little bit worse every year.

and everything on my old LG monitor (contrast and brightness set at 65%)

font color is 160,160,160 on 255,255,255 background. You should be able to see them very well.

lol, I know you're mad when someone asks you "easy" things but I do know x264 can run silumtaneously (I do that all the time in MeGUI with multiple workers) but in RipBot264, when I click on RipBot264.exe one more time, it keeps saying it's still in memory! So it won't open up another RipBot264. That's why I asked if it's possible to do the same like MeGUI or not since I'm not completely familiar with RipBot264 yet.

You're right !! MeGUI can run / work with multiple workers , but Ripbot - NO.
It occupies the entire memory or processor and two parallel programs can not work.
Moreover the software has been designed to ease your work and not obstruct it..
Supposing you could run two or three programs at once, during the encoding , logic , the time will increase proportionally, no matter how powerful your computer should be..

uhm, ah I see why RipBot won't run in parallel now.
@the time will increase proportionally
I don't know how RipBot264 will be programmed to run in parallel later in the future but if it's going to be like MeGUI, then the time won't increase for me. I have tried converting 4 HD (1080p) videos at the same time and they all encoded as fast as if I were running a single conversion.
By the way, can the speed of conversion ruin my output quality? Because I am still using the same profile as before (I got 25-30 fps conversion speed) and now when I use this profile on a faster computer it goes up to like 120-140 fps) :\ I like the speed increase but just want to confirm it if quality can be worse before I make profile a little heavier.

You are most likely selecting the wrong track. The one that automatically pops up is over 2 hours. Make sure you select the 98 minute playlist. I converted Daybreakers today without a problem.

Hi Atak,
Please would you be able to put in a profile to support iPad? Currently the iPod/iPhone profile works just fine, but if you could include a profile (main profile 3.1), that could mean slightly better quality at the same bitrates.
Many thanks!
