With FFMS2 YOU WILL DEFINETELY have problems at split point in DE mode!
Trust me! I've been there and I was extremely frustrated with FFMS2 until I switched to LSmash. All my problems were gone when I dumped FFM2S! Older users of DE mode can testify how buggy was FFMS2. Corrupted frame when chunk starts, duplicated frames at chunks start and so on...
Missing frame means that frame for some reason was not extracted for testing. Maybe ffmpeg.exe crashed... Maybe you ran out of memory because UHD consumes a lot especially with 32 thread CPU! On my 16 thread CPU memory consumption reaches 18 GiB!
Focus on CORRUPTED FRAME ERROR and FRAME INSERTED ERROR
Did some more SeekTester runs today, keeping a very close eye on the memory usage.
With a 1080p clip, FFMS2 ran between 7 & 9Gb, whilst LSmash ran between 8 & 10Gb.
However, a totally different story with 2160p.
A 10bit HDR clip (Dirty Dancing), using LSmash, the usage was sky high, all but maxing out my 32Gb of DDR5 memory.
Didn't have any FFMPEG errors, and the memory usage was jumping aroung wildly, and when the test completed,
there were 998 errors out of the 1000 frames tested.
Then using FFMS2, there was even higher memory usage, and it actually crashed the PC, I had to turn it off manually.
There were multiple FFMPEG error popup warnings, before the crash.
Needless to say, I won't be running that test again.
So I starting to think that with these new Gen multi core CPU's, that 32Gb of RAM just isn't enough.
I will try a test on the Ryzen 5900X 12 core, and see what it does.
This may just be a reason why the 16 core Ryzen's are "falling off a cliff" when encoding 2160p.....
OK, more testing, but this time on a 5900X 12 core with 32Gb DDR4.
Testing a 4K Game of Thrones episode.
FFMS2 is a memory hog, it used close to all the 32Gb at certain points, and resulted in 498 errors.
However, LSmash used up to a high of approx 22Gb, and had ZERO errors.
I need to test that same file on the 16 core PC's, just for a bit of consistency.
Later on in the day, I did some tests on the 5950X, and I upped the RAM from 32Gb, to 64Gb...at first I had some crashes, but shuffling the RAM sticks around, fixed that.
So, the same episode of GoT.
FFMS2, is still a memory hog, it peaked @ 52.5Gb usage, but only had 111 errors, so maybe more RAM helps FFMS2.
LSmash, memory usage peaked @ 35.3Gb, and had ZERO errors.
No FFMPEG errors
So, I guess the next thing is to test some encodes of 2160p, while I have 64Gb available.

Another day, another interesting observation on memory use.
Obviously SeekTester is also a MAJOR "stress test", as it maxes out both the CPU & RAM, and like I mentioned in the previous post, SeekTester using FFMS2 is a usage hog.
So today, I am just doing a "normal" encode over 4 PC's, on a 2160p HDR movie, decoded with FFMS2.
Memory use, using only 1 DE server per PC:-
5900X - approx 13Gb (32Gb DDR4 installed)
5950X - approx 13.2Gb (64Gb DDR4 installed)
7950X - approx 15.3Gb (32Gb DDR5 installed)
13900KF - approx 14.8Gb (32Gb DDR4 installed)
And I have to mention that this is first time I have done significant encoding since the RB update that darkened the text colour in the Encoder screens.
Very nice, thanks, Atak.

hi,
ripbot264 is not quitting properly, when i exit it hangs and i need to kill it, does this happen to anyone else?

So regardless of the errors that SeekTester produces when using FFMS2, (and sometimes with L-Smash), the encodes I did yesterday did not have any encoding issues, and I'm using DE, and the whole movie played without issue.
I still think it would be appreciated if this could be added back as a decoding option....it's already a part of RB, it just needs the "switch" in the code to be enabled, and made available.
Leave it up to the user to decide, please consider.

So is this a regular occurrence ???
I sadly have this happen every so often, not too sure how, or why, but the best way to deal with it, is to "kill" it, and re-start.
I would be shocked, if nobody else had this issue, from time to time.

Yes, happens more often then not for me.
i even noticed a ripbot process in suspended mode that i could not kill i process manager (access denied) .

Encode vc-1 which is very common on blu-rays and then see what weird things happen at split points. I've told you before. EncodingClient always modifies script and ffms is replaced with lsmash! Ffms is unrealiable. Stop asking for this inferior and broken filter. I WILL never allow ffms to be used in De mode again.

So how come it shows it to be using FFMS2, in 1.avs ??

[QUOTE=Pauly Dunne;1983226]Hey guy's,
I have 2 new re-hashed builds for you to try.
Hello P Dunne
I would like to try out your special builds but unfortunately my AV BitDefender keeps blocking the download and flags the file ImageSeq.dll in avisynt/libraries/x86/plugins/ImageSeq.dll as infected.
It does clean it and leave the file in the folder( presumeably sans infected bits).
Its probably a false +ve and the file has been uploaded to BitDef but would you mind checking?
The same warning occurs for all your recent uploads. I havent yet tested if every thing works.
Thanks

Hi avinewbie,
Thankyou for wanting to try my builds :)
I would doubt that there is anything wrong with that file, or the downloads in general.
I would suggest that it's AV BitDefender being way to severe with certain files.
I only use Microsoft Defender (the default Windows AV app), so maybe just as a test, at your end, disable or remove AV BitDefender, and see what happens then.
Having said that, I think you'll find that RipBot doesn't need the files in the folder that that file is located, but if that's what triggering your AV, then that's a problem.
PM me, if you're still having issues.
Cheers

In light of "avinewbie" 's post, I will remove the offending files & folder's, as it appears that RipBot does not required them, anyway.
And getting valuable feedback, can just make things better :)
Also, and yet again, there has been some significant updates to the working's of my build's, mainly Dogway...he just can't keep fiddling & updating his scripts, and he has basically re-written SMDegrain in the passed couple of days. :(
So to keep up with his changes, I've needed to reflect those changes in ALL the SMDegrain based scripts (and there's a LOT of them, especially in the full build).
So I will be posting updated builds, shortly, and unfortunately, the changes may not be compatible to the current builds.
I knew I should have waited a bit longer before posting, but you just never know what the others are doing, and when they will update their app's.
So when it comes time, I will leave the current builds available, and leave it up to you, whether you want to try the updated builds.
Sorry guy's, I know this is a PITA.

Thanks avinewbie, that is good to know :)
I had a good look around the files & folders of Avisynth, and found some older stuff in there that didn't need to be there.
Now I can update the "full" build, and post that shortly.

I have run into a bit of a problem when importing a DNxHR HQX clip..
Getting this error message :-
https://i.imgur.com/ojNUrpS.jpg
File info :-
https://i.imgur.com/42lYSme.jpg
Or is it that RipBot264 doesn't support these types ??
Even after running it thru MKVToolNix, it has the same error :(
EDIT:- more info...I tested this .mov with Staxrip, and as it has several "Source" options, I tried FFMS2 & L-Smash, and it imported the file with no issue.
But when I changed it to DirectShowSource, it displayed the exact same error as RipBot does.
So RipBot must somehow "connect" DirectShow with both FFMS2 & L-Smash, when decoding.

Hi Atak, well, you've done it again ;), greatly appreciated.
Silently working, and fixing the "problem" I posted about, so now RipBot264 can handle a whole new range of "special" video files.
So, with that in mind, there is a nice little autoupdate to fix this, and also 2 other important components.
Core (2023-02-26)
Mediainfo 22.12
MKVToolNix 74.0

So, due to Dogway constantly updating his scripts, I have to keep updating as well, just to keep up, and as he's the current author of SMDegrain (and it's addon's & dependencies), it affects how the script's perform, or even work at all.
There have been several substantial updates of other components since the last build, as well.
So I apologise for all the changes & revisions, but it just makes for a better product.
Updated to build 4.0

Hi Atak,
Here I go again,
As I'm sure you know, a lot of TV series episode's have the annoying pre titles & the "previously on" review, when you really just want to "cut to the chase".
Could you consider adding an edit function that just quickly "chop's of the start", where you can either specify a certain amount of frames, or time (to the second).
I can do the video "chop" with a script, but I can't get the audio to "follow suit".
Atak_Snajpera

Keep in mind that when you edit video then you will also have to reencode audio stream. Copy stream will not work in this case. You will end up with obvious a/v synch issues.

Yes, its reasonable easy to make changes to the video related scripts, but modding audio commands & scripts is not (well for me, anyway)
So is it possible to do both in RipBot ??

This should work
#AudioSource
Import("C:\Temp\RipBot264temp\job1\job1_a1.avs")
Trim(0,1)
or this
#AudioSource
Import("C:\Temp\RipBot264temp\job1\job1_a1.avs").Trim(0,1)

Nice, I will try that tomorrow...so to basically state the obvious, if the video script was like this:-
video=Trim(video,100, 0)
This :- #AudioSource
Import("C:\Temp\RipBot264temp\job1\job1_a1.avs")
Trim(0,100) would look like this ??
This is an actual call:-
#AudioSource
LoadPlugin("D:\RipBot264\Tools\AviSynth plugins\lsmash\LSMASHSource.dll")
audio=LWLibavAudioSource("C:\Temp\RipBot264temp\job1\1_audio_English_DEFAULT.eac3",cachefile="C:\Temp\RipBot264temp\job1\1_audio_English_DEFAULT.eac3.lwi").ConvertAudioToFloat.ResampleAudio(48000)
Atak_Snajpera
6th March 2023, 14:31
#AudioSource
Import("C:\Temp\RipBot264temp\job1\job1_a1.avs")
Trim(100,0)
BTW. You do not need this video=Trim(video,100, 0) if you use above command because CLIP already has video and audio data. If you look in job1_a1.avs then there is AudioDub function which combines Video And Audio into one CLIP.
#AudioDub
AudioDub(video,audio)

Sorry, I can't get this to work...
Script/call (generated by RB):-
#AudioSource
LoadPlugin("C:\RipBot264_PD 3.0\Tools\AviSynth plugins\lsmash\LSMASHSource.dll")
audio=LWLibavAudioSource("E:\Temp\RipBot264temp\job10\1_audio_English_DEFAULT_DELAY23ms.aac",cachefile="E:\Temp\RipBot264temp\job10\1_audio_English_DEFAULT_DELAY23ms.aac.lwi").ConvertAudioToFloat.ResampleAudio(48000)Trim(150,0)
#Delay
audio=DelayAudio(audio,0)
#Tempo
#Normalize
#AudioDub
AudioDub(video,audio)
And the error I get in preview:-
https://i.imgur.com/ytE21Y0.jpg
This call (below) doesn't make any sense to me, it seems irrelevant, somehow
And the ONLY place I can find this is in job10\job10.avs
#AudioSource
Import("C:\Temp\RipBot264temp\job1\job1_a1.avs")
Trim(100,0)

@atak, plesse add invert axis option for auto resize after crop.
For example: 576 for height, automatically find width after crop. (I prefer a lot), or free resize without auto height (I'm using my personal resizer calculator with itu parameters).
Then, add 2 or 3 audio tracks in batch mode... very frustrating for multiple episodes....

ok.
Esample for Blu-ray with 244,0,244,0 crop values (left, up, right, down).
My "active" movie is 1432x1080. I prefer set 1080 for width instead 1432 for height. The height box is grey abd cannot set manually this value.
I set 1432 on the left box for auto 1080 value.
for 540 or 576p I need to set 716 or 764 for auto height. Ripbot264 calculates 574 as value, so then set manually to 576....
Edit: Hybrid encoder have invert axis in resize tab too, but is very boring to use.

That's a heavy crop, don't you like black borders ??
Is that using Batch ??
You need a special script to do all that, and then you could use it in both single & batch job creation.
Hybrid is VERY complicated :(
darkio

I normally do not mind the black bands above and below if the film is letterboxed.
Ripbot already uses add borders as a script. they bother me more on the left and right for native 4:3 letterboxed video.
Hybrid is a good encoder, but not user friendly gui....also have good avisynth or vapoursynth script, but is very boring...

Many updates & new scripts & filters, some have been removed :(
Scripts will not be compatible with previous builds.
And to keep the build sizes to a minimum, the LUT's folder is a separate download, and can be copied to wherever you like.
I'm trying something new today, no more hyperlinks, simply click on the "PD Builds, etc" in my "sig", and hopefully, all will be revealed.

Is there any way to increase the FPS of the video ?
I tried the AssumeFPS, but it actually just sped up the video, but the audio was still "normal", so it's instantly very out of sync :(
It would also be very handy to be able to do some basic Avisynth editing of the video & audio tracks, for those pesky intro's of TV episodes.

Audio must be re-encoded. Probably you used "COPY STREAM" in audio section. That would explain why audio stream was out of sync with video.

Well, if that's what you want to call it!
But it would be a lot more useful than using AssumeFPS...I mean, who'd want to speed up their video & audio, expect for a novelty, like a "Chipmunk's" movie...
It would just be nice to have a few more video & audio editing & encoding options.

If I recall correctly font style and size was controlled by external file .style.
example
[V4 Styles]
Format: Name, Fontname, Fontsize, PrimaryColour, SecondaryColour, TertiaryColour, BackColour, Bold, Italic, BorderStyle, Outline, Shadow, Alignment, MarginL, MarginR, MarginV, AlphaLevel, Encoding
Style: Default,Tahoma,18,&Hffffff,&H00ffff,&H000000,&H000000,1,0,1,2,1,2,20,20,20,0,1
It should be probably in the same directory as subtitle file with name like this
YourSubtitle.srt.style or YourSubtitle.style
I do not remember now...

Atak,
I have been looking around at how to add hard coded subtitles (.srt, .ssa), and it was suggested to me to try "assrender" (an unfortunate name).
It's very simple & basic, and I think you could easily integrate this into RB (but ONLY for rendered subs), there are lots of options, but the main options are font size & font style/type.
More info here :-
AssRender (http://avisynth.nl/index.php/AssRender)
And a simple script:-
LoadPlugin("%AVISYNTHPLUGINS%\assrender\assrender.dll")
video=assrender(video, "subtitle path & name.srt", scale=0.8, srt_font="Sans")
Biggest problem might be needing the full path & name of each & every subtitle, in the call :(

Would it be possible to add an option to change the size of the subtitle font, especially when Rendering them ("burning them in") ?
I found this old post on VideoHelp...
https://forum.videohelp.com/threads/388276-How-to-put-burned-subtitle-on-top-with-RipBot264-(avisynth-vsfilter)
video=TextSub(video,"C:\Temp\RipBot264temp\job1\ca ptions-3.srt",-1)
Does that -1 have anything to do with the size ??
I simply edited the "default.style" file with notepad located in the ripbot program folder under "Tools" and then "srttossa", I changed the Fontsize from 18 if I remember correctly to 16 and now each new file what load in which I print the subtitles above, it gives them to me immediately with this default, I hope I have been of help.
