strictly speaking, NTSC should be top frame first, BUT, some capture card encode bottom first (regardless of their input). you're just going to have to experiment a little to get the right setting

It is up to source. Personally I use always Top Field First.

ok Im obviously missing a step or something somewhere. I have a couple blu-ray discs that I need to convert the vc-1 video to h.264 so I can stream it thru the ps3. I have them ripped to my hard drive and they are currently stored as m2ts files. I try inputing them into ripbot264 but im getting an error after a few minutes of it saying demuxing audio stream. The error im getting is as follows: DirectShowSource: RenderFile, the filter graph manager won't talk to me (C:\Temp\RipBot264temp\job1\getinfo.avs, line 1)

Do i have to convert my video/audio file to another type first? If so could u give in depth info as I am very new to this. Thanks!

For the file I was encoding? "Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann 01.mp4".

I keep getting the same error. What exactly do you mean by remove all codecs? I think this may be my problem. I have the latest FFdshow and Haali media splitter installed. I also went into ffdshow and changed the vc1 settings to WMV. I also downloaded windows media asf video 9 series.

I don't know what you've installed in your system but if you have K-lite codec pack or something similar installed then uninstall them.

ok well I reinstalled everything. Still got the same error. Could it be something to do with my m2ts files? Again, I ripped them to my hard drive. There is multiple audio streams and a single video stream. From there I just try and add them directly to ripbot and thats when im getting the error.

how about to add a new line in ripbot.ini. Line called : x264ExtraParams :)

x264ExtraParams=--me-prepass --intraxxx --newfeatureNotYetSupportedByRipbot :)

and appends this line in the command line just before the output filename.

Atak - just tried ripbot on a few more True HD movies - same problem- The True HD stream demuxes with ripbot to a silent audio stream with what looks like the correct filesize. If I remux the movie with TSmuxer and downsample the audio to ac3 then the demuxing with ripbot using win xp cuts the demuxing short. Don't know if ripbot is supposed to support True HD audio - but if you want a small sample (20mb like the HD dts one i gave you) -let me know. Movies are spiderman 1 and 2 bluray.

Just tried demuxing True HD audio only (without downsampling) using both tsmuxer and tsremux - both produce different file sizes - yet both are silent.
It seems there is no way at the moment to preserve True HD when remuxing or riping bluray??

Current decoders support only core AC3. The same applies to DTS-HD.

I've installed RipBot 264, MatroskaSpilter290308, ffdshow-rev1953__20080504_xxl and AVISynth-258 and am trying to open a bluray vid file.

I get the following error in Media player classic.
DirectShowSource: couldn't open file C:\....\00001.m2ts: Cannot play back the file. The format is not supported. (C:\Temp\RipBot264temp\job1\getinfo.avs,line 1).

I've tried this on two machines one being a clean Vista install.

I also tried installing klcodec390f.

What else do I need to get RipBot working?

for 1.9.7 you should add the option for splitting the moviefor blu-ray output. useful when exporting the FAT32 drive like USB.

Yes, I figured maybe four times as long as a quad, but not over ten times longer. I just wanted to make sure this was normal.

Also, the program is awesome but I find selecting the audio tracks annoying. It would be great if you had a little player embedded in ripbot that would play the selected audio track from the drop down so you could determine quickly if it was Spanish, German, English, etc. Also, often I find the drop down is not wide enough to display the full path to the audio files. Perhaps making this a bit wider would help in determining which audio file you are selecting.

I like the installer AJAX, but I am still unable to read an m2ts (Bluray) file. I uninstalled everything before using your installer (RipBot 264, MatroskaSpilter, ffdshow,AVISynth-258, MEGUI and DVDFab.

I ripped the disc to the hard drive and I get the following error in Media player classic.

does anyone want to post some ideas for settings when re-encoding from from 1080 to 720?

I am encoding from a 20Gb rip to 4.5Gb, and although i am doing a 2 pass encode, setting the options on the GUI as best as i know, its still good, but not great. encoding is taking around 16 hours on a 1.8Ghz C2Duo, which is what i expect

i also find that when i resize, and i ask it to automatically crop to keep the OAR, i still get the padding of the black bars, i thought it was because i was playing it in fullscreen on my laptop, but when i resize the image from fullscreen, it takes the bars, as an integral part of the movie

how can i REALLY remove them?
