For Kill Bill you will notice there are two english subs on the disc. The second sub is the one you want. As for converting suprip is the only tool I know that does PGS subs. However I know for this particular title it had a lot of issues recognizing characters.

Best bet might be to get the subs from the dvd version.

That's how I see it too. And I've actually never seen 'forced subtitles' on a commercial DVD, either (though I understand the principle).

My subtitle philosophy is very simple: if you can afford to turn your subtitles off, you don't need them. And if you always need them, you might as well include them in the reencoding process. :) Like I did on Vexille, for instance, the other day: it's either that, or learn Japanese. :) So, I'll take my chances just burning the subs right into the movie, Domo arigatoo!

I recently did Die Hard 4.0 and it replaced every , with a C. It took ages to sort that out.

Forced subs on R2 DVD's are popular. They are often used for location names and translating foreign langauges which are often burned in on R1.

I locked size to 8.150 to write it to a dvd9 and I can't write it with any burner because the media Size: 8.547.698.416 bytes and the image Size: 8.548.581.376 bytes. This happens for the first time with ripbot. Is there a way to at least cut something from the bluray folder in order to burn the disc? Any help plz!!

You can't really cut something from the Blu=Ray structure, as there's no bonus material to cut or blank. Your best bet, I think, is to have a look at the audio-track. Is it DTS-HD or some such? Or even plain DTS? You might then wanna downgrade to AC3 to shave off what you need. Or, if it's AC3 already, downsample to 448Kpbs instead if 640Kbps. None of which is a particularly attractive option, really. And, if I were you, I'd just reencode the original material (not from the .mkv to start with) and set a somewhat smaller size.

I asked a while ago why we couldn't have one pass and get exact single layer dvd size. I was told that 2 passes is needed. However, just before the second pass starts, the created 1 pass H264 is the right size. So why cannot that be used? Is there something different about the file over a standard H264 file?

It might just be me, but checkboxes next to jobs in the jobs list would be nice. For example: I put 5 jobs in the queue, they're all checked I start encoding I come back some time later and see that there's a little bit of time left for job #2 to finish I uncheck jobs 3, 4, and 5 When job 2 finishes, RipBot falls through and doesn't try encoding the rest of the jobs At this point I can use my computer again

I'm trying to find a way to manage when I can/can't use my computer because ripbot is encoding. Sometimes just letting it go overnight isn't long enough :)

Thanks asarian, I will keep that in mind. Is there a way to reduce only the audio quality and do nothing to the video using ripbot? If only there was a way to cut a teeny tiny part of m2ts file... another movie did that bug again just now, the third that i made after the first two was fine. Unfortunately I can't do the process from the beginning, I don't have much patience left to keep my computer buzy for 2 more days. From now on I will lock the size first and then I will reduce the kbs a little more.

I'd say, just get eac3to, if you don't have it already, and extract the audio, like so:

eac3to 0000.m2ts 2: newaudio.ac3 -448

Assuming 2: is the audio track, of course. Then remux the new audio back in with tsMuxeR.

EDIT: eac3to is also in RipBot's 'Tools' directory, btw.

Probably you use ISO+joilet but you must use UDF only !!!!

Hello atak, no I use imageburn with UDF 2.5 but I also get it in nero when I use udf 2.5 . If I use an older one like 2.01 it will reduce the size a little and it will be compatible?
I made a lot of movies with ripbot and they are excellent, it only happened in these 2.

When you burn your file you must select UDF 2.50 file system!!! ISO+joilet is always larger therefore it won't fit!!!

Well, first make sure it isn't the UDF issue, as Atak suggested. :)

As for tsMuxeR, there's hardly an easier program. :) Just start up tsMuxerGUI, which comes in the zip, at:

Then just click the 'Add' button on the top-right corner, and simply deselect your audio stream. Then, click 'Add' again to include your new audio. Then set 'Output' (below) to 'm2ts muxing', choose a new file name, and presto, you're done. :)

I always do that Atak. And also I saw that imageburn keeps my file system saved everytime I open it. I only use udf 2.5

I haven't tested it, but I doubt it. Blu-Ray is specified to use UDF 2.50 (2.60 for HD-DVD). So I doubt just using 2.01 will work.

Yeap I added subtitles, greek btw. Thankz for the quick response, I made 7 playable movies with ripbot.I use the 1.11 version cause the 1.11.4 made the common problem with directsource and I didnt want to bother you. I also have the problem in 1.11 with the first couple of minutes as they trempling.
Here are the length and bitrate
1) 1:36:46 audio AC3, I think 640kps
2) 3:44:00 audio: DTS

For the second movie I get it but for the first one I dont. Also the sizes are tiny bigger to fit in the disc.

Why, if you have a DTS track already, why not just ditch the AC3 stream, then??

And, btw, what's with the DTS being almost 4 hours?? Something must be wrong.

EDIT: Btw, it's always wise to minimize your audio tracks, of course, when you're cramped for space (which you always are, of course, when trying to fit BD stuff onto a DVD9). So, before you encode, I would remove the AC3 or DTS track first (whichever suits your audio needs), and only then reencode, so as to leave more room for the movie.

I did some testing on both my PC's (one contains the registry key ffdshow_vfw and the other doesn't).

It seems that after you run the ffdshow installer and if you choose not to run the VFW configuratator during the last step of the ffdshow installation, then ffdshow_vfw is not setup automatically. After I ran the VFW configurator, everything under ffdshow_vfw became populated.

So before RipBot264 inserts the mjpg value into the registry, it should check for the existence of the key ffdshow_vfw, if it doesn't exist, create one first.

I can confirm this as I had this same problem, I couldn't figure out how to hack the registry so I just re-installed ffdshow and made sure I ran the configurator, and bingo RipBot works fine now.

For the second movie:
I will try to use your method to make the DTS into AC3 and then remux them with TSmuxer.

For the first one I will downgrade ac3 to lower bitrate.
I can't wait for the version 1.11.5 btw.

I get the error in the attached image. "Directshowsource: Timeout waiting for graph to start".

I've searched and tried several fixes which have not helped.

The problem started with I upgraded to version 1.11.4. I had the "mjpg" error when starting the new version after I upgraded ffdshow. Per a post, I added "ffdshow_vfw" & the "default" key which seemed to fix that problem.

What is causing the timeout issue and how can I fix it?

Did you try Ajax's installer? That also installs a new haali media splitter, which solved an odd issue for me. Might give it a try.

Atak, what is the m2ts muxing overhead for DTS audio ?

Because today I need to make a backup with 2 DTS audio tracks, ripbot output will be "create blu-ray". So I think I will do the backup with 1 audio track and then once it's done I will remux the 00001.m2ts with tsmuxer to add the 2nd DTS track.

But for this to work I need to set the video bitrate manually so that it will still fit the DVD9 after I add the 2nd track.

So, how much (%?) do I have to add to the 2nd DTS track file size for overhead. Or is there a better way to do this?

(also, will ripbot support 2 audio tracks in the future?)

And finally, will my 2 audio tracks work properly with the ripbot blu-ray structure, or do the index files need to be edited in some way to support the 2nd audio track?

Thanks for the new version. I should have my last encode completed soon and will go straight on using the new one. I have done several with subtitles and they all fit fine. I tend to use a custom total of 4450MB.

There is a bug with the new version 1.11.5. When I start it I get a screen that tells me it needs UAC to be switched off. I have also tried to run it with admin privileges, it doesn't work. Using vista x64.

If i set it not to auto start anydvd, i thought it should not try to stop anydvd when ripbot is closed even if it is running?

I usually rip the files from my blu ray / hd dvd to my harddisk first, and then encode in batch with ripbot.

Sometimes I have ripbot do the initial steam extraction, while I have another anydvd process to rip to my harddisk. When i close my ripbot accidentally, it will stop my anydvd.

I have news for you. Microsoft has decided to remove UAC from Windows 7 :) UAC has nothing to do with security. It is another annoying pop-up window. Besides This app is free of charge so I don't care if you don't agree with me. You will do whatever you want. You have so many alternatives these days. Personally I HATE UAC (I don't use UAC from the day one!). I HATE when windows always hides file extensions by default. I HATE indexing . I HATE prefetch . I HATE ...

Ok, i'll start with a massive thank you for this program. It makes my life so much easier to transcode all my HD-DVD files to H264 / AC3 Blu-Ray compliant clips to use on my HTPC without a HD drive. I can also get some very reasonable low bitrate 1080P transcodes (4.7GB with good sound and video, well, good enough for everyday use).

But (there always has to be one), whenever I exit the program I find AnyDVD always closes with it (which is annoying when used on my media server), can this be changed so that it is not closed (or at least an option).

And with regards to subtitles. I have Close Encounters of the Third Kind special edition on Blu-Ray, this uses part of the normal subtitles to overlay subs during the foreign language bit at the start of the movie. There are no separate subtitle tracks just for this bit so I am going to have to go through the movie looking for subtitles that need to be kept and blanking the others.

But, as I said, Thank you for this lovely program.
