Hello! I'm from Ukraine, so sorry for my bad English.
I needed a function DistributedEncoding and I discovered your program.
However, I did not get to use it. In standard mode (UseDistributedEncoding = 0) all is well. However, when enabled DistributedEncoding = 1 a message appears: ERROR! Source file could not be indexed! Autoclosing at 5 sec/

And in log file:
C:\>"H:\Torrent\TEMPP\RipBot264v1.17.4\EncodingClient.exe" "C:\Temp\RipBot264temp\job1\job1_EncodingClient.meta"

I tried to mp4 (H.264), avi (divX) and mpeg2 - any difference
I use Windows 8 x64, UAC - disabled, and i run RipBot264.exe as Administrator - nothing helps...
Please help me.

oh I see now. I will take a look in my code.
I'm thoroughly amazed by your professionalism regarding all this. Not many authors would even react so fast, let alone think of looking at their code.
Your work is greatly appreciated.
Take your time. Day after tomorrow I shall be traveling anyways, so won't be able to do any two-machine encoding as it is.
For my current project that I have to finish rather fast, being able to distribute encode the whole file (complete with added script) is enough and much obliged.
We can sort out all this trim business once I return :)
Again, thanks!

Microsoft is always made changes that f$$ a lot of things. Over some months i look for an issue with Outlook changes that need HTML based on Strict 1.0. Tranditional 1.0 html are getting obselets and they not communicate nowhere for that change.

Now that I'm back... have you looked at what's the problem with this #trim stuff? Thanks!
edit: Also, what's the reasoning behind forcing min-keyint 24 and keyint 240 in the encode settings? Something one has to change those but however you try,
the program forces it and my changes to the encode settings won't count. Annoying.

More stuff.
When manually entering x264 options, apparently RipBot doesn't take kindly to the "--zones" option. Wasted like 6+ hrs yesterday, because the source which I wanted to encode with particular amount of frames set with --zones option was encoded throughout with ONLY the frames set by zones. Like, I had --zones 0,2351 and whole file encoded just looped these frames over and over again.
Another thing. Not only does YLevelsS disappear every time I set it under show script or by modifying the job script directly via temp folder, there also doesn't appear any effect stuff like Tweak and/or YLevelsS are doing to the finished product. I may set them under #Color (that one at least sticks) and #Colorspace, but no effect, at all.
Other stuff I wrote previously about I got figured out. Similarly, somehow #trimmed amount of frames encoding appear to work now in distributed fashion. But don't ask me how.

Ok, I have more problems (not that I'm surprised given how clunky scripting w/Ripbot appears to be).
This script (source was m2ts that was internally changed to mkv by Ripbot supposedly via eac3to):
#MT
#VideoSource
video=DirectShowSource("C:\Temp\RipBot264temp\job1\video.mkv",audio=false).ConvertToYV12() ## have tried FFVideosource and DGSource by setting the loadplugins explicitly and having them in the shared tools folder, same thing each time.
#Deinterlace
#Decimate
#Crop
video=Crop(video,0,140,-0,-140)
#Resize
#Colors
video=Tweak(video,hue=0,sat=1.1,bright=0,cont=1)
#Denoise
source = video
sharp0 = source.SeeSaw(nrlimit=0, nrlimit2=99, bias=61, sstr=2.75, Spower=4, Szp=13, Sdamplo=4, SdampHi=19, Slimit=99, sootheT=0, sootheS=0).mergechroma(source)
sup1 = source.fft3dfilter(sigma=2.5,sigma2=0.6,sigma3=0.9,sigma4=1.2,plane=4,bt=4,wintype=2,bw=16,bh=16).MSuper(pel=1,sharp=2)
sup2 = sharp0.MSuper(pel=1,sharp=2,levels=1)
bv1 = sup1.MAnalyse(isb=true, delta=1,overlap=8, blksize=16,truemotion=false)
fv1 = sup1.MAnalyse(isb=false,delta=1,overlap=8, blksize=16,truemotion=false)
bv2 = sup1.MAnalyse(isb=true, delta=2,overlap=8, blksize=16,truemotion=false)
fv2 = sup1.MAnalyse(isb=false,delta=2,overlap=8, blksize=16,truemotion=false)
bv3 = sup1.MAnalyse(isb=true, delta=3,overlap=8, blksize=16,truemotion=false)
fv3 = sup1.MAnalyse(isb=false,delta=3,overlap=8, blksize=16,truemotion=false)
video=source.MDegrain3(sup2,bv1,fv1,bv2,fv2,bv3,fv3,thsad=1200) ## same w/no explicit video variable setting, i.e. source. ... Curiously, the way this script originally is, w/o any "source", it wholly breaks in RipBot.
video=Temporalsoften(video,2,1,1,6,2) ## same outcome w/just Temporalsoften(2,1,1,6,2) w/o video
video=Gradfun2dbmod(video,str=0.1,strC=0.0, temp=85,adapt=64) ## enne oli temp=70 & str=0.17
#Subtitles
#AudioSource
#DownMix
#Delay
#Tempo
#Normalize
#AudioDub
#Triming
video=trim(video,5000,10000)
#AVSameLength
#ColorSpace
return video
While everything appears kosher, each time I'm trying the encode (which works in distributed fashion now, mind you), it comes out as if only 1/3 of the frames get
encoded and then the finished product just loops this data around and around.
edit: and each chunk's info file ends with "error: wrote only 2285530 of 2304000 bytes" for what's it worth.
edit#2: I might have a hunch what's happening. In the avs scripts of the individual chunk files (1,2,3 etc) there's this section of AVSameLength and whereas I supppose
there has to be a setup of AVSameLength(video,#,#) there's no "video" in my current scripts. Might that be it and if it is, how to fix it?

To be honest I didn't design DE MODE to be used with custom made scripts. This means that when you inject your stuff I do not guarantee it will work.

Well, just wanted to say that after enough of rather sophisticated tinkering, it is possible to make manually entered scripts work with RipBot in distributed encoding mode. Of course, most of the tricks have to be deducted and best-guessed given the apparent robust (and way too clunky) nature of the program.
However, the time spent in figuring out the fine (but emphatic for the overall process) details was well worth it.
Heavy script which previously ran at 2.1fps on 2core/4threads ran at 9+ fps at combined 6core/12threads system. Amazing stuff.
Many thanks for making this kind of shared encoding possible, in that sense RipBot truly is one of a kind.

Been having problems with the more recent x264 builds not displaying "x264 [info]" in the log file after an encode.
Usually I'll get many lines starting with x264 [info] & the most important data on a 2pass, the final ratefactor.
But since build r2356 to r2358, the only info that shows up in the log file is settings used, the mkvmerge muxing info & how long everything took.
The last x264 build to output the correct log info was r2345.
Not sure if this a RipBot264 issue, or x264 issue, due to some internal changes.

Hi.
I have some troubles with red color after encoding. It's a common problem, I had the same in StaxRip while ago and adding that line:
ConvertToYV12(matrix="Rec709")
solved the problem.
Question is, I can't find the right place to add that line in RipBot. Where is it?
Thanks for your amazing work.
aldix
1st September 2013, 22:55
Perhaps add to the same place Ripbot usually sticks ConverttoYV12 for non-DVD encodes (rather redundant but whatchyagonnado). That is, right after the source call.

So this is in Encoder settings - commands at the bottom?
When I add the line I can't render the clip out.
