Decided to see just what this program could do. I installed it on 8 Quadcore i7 machines and gave it a 23 minute file to chew on (h264 source, no audio). I let it go with the default settings and it encoded it at 370fps in 2min 04secs. Pretty impressive. I then set it to the Ultrafast preset and it crunched it at an incredible 1800+ fps!! But... it then took ages to Mux the file. Total time to completion: 2min 07secs! What's going on there? The strangest part is that there was no audio present to be muxed. Any ideas?

Also I'm trying to hunt down some AVC-Intra footage if anyone can help? The only AVC-Intra material I can create at the moment is MXF OP-atom - audio/video in separate files, and not recognised by RipBot. Any links to any other flavours of AVC-Intra, and preferably MXF OP1a (audio & video in same MXF container) gratefully received.

Thanks everyone

Am I able to make AVCHD's with Lossless audio?
I chose Demux once loaded, top right when loaded said "DTS-MA"
When I hit AVCHD as the output and change the size, add subs anything I get this error = 'Unknown / 1509000' is not a valid floating point value

dtsma and truehd are not allowed in avchd according to specs. I just forgot to disable copy stream option.

I have made loads of AVCHD's on BD25's with lossless audio and they all play fine on my Panasonic (known to be fussy with discs and AVCHD specs) and my Cambridge Audio, after all AVCHD has the same structure as a blu-ray.
How can I enable it or can you enable it for the next update?
I'm fed up with calculating MB's and not getting it to fill 100% of the disc, most of the time its 95-98% filled.

Here is a BDinfo if it helps

[Distributed Encoding - Multiple NICs Setting?] Hi all. I have a main HTPC that does most of the heavy lifting for me, including video conversions. It serves as the Master for all the encoding nodes with RipBot. In this HTPC is also a Ceton TV card which has its own IP address. Arguably you could call the device dual-homed. I was wondering if it is possible to set the Server to use a specific NIC? Changing the config file with the loopback address 127.0.0.1 to the Network address 192.168.1.xx seems to have little effect, and the DE Server still listens on the Ceton IP address (which for info is 192.168.200.1). If I disable the device in network settings DE Server then picks up the correct address.

Any help is appreciated.

Many thanks,
Mark

I was wondering if you could swap ProRes/DNxHD with AVC-Intra. I will describe my workflow on Windows 7.
1) first i've installed x264 VFW codec
2) in Sony Vegas I configured x264 codec to encode only in intra mode (example : --preset superfast --tune fastdecode --keyint 1 --bitrate xxxxxx)
3) my destination container is .avi

once .avi is created it can be used in DE mode.

I suppose you can do the same on mac. Just install x264 codec and then select .mp4 as output container.

I've tried to achieve this using both Final Cut X and Adobe Premiere CS6 but no joy so far. Premiere outputs AVC-Intra into an MXF container. No built-in options for AVC-Intra within an AVI. Not sure how I add codecs to Premiere but that's my next step I guess. However...

Feature requests:

Support for DNxHD & ProRes source files
Support for MOV and MXF containers (OP1a preferred but also OP-atom if it's possible)
Batch encoding where the same source material is encoded to several different bitrates/resolutions
A 'watch folder' where new files are automatically processed using predefined settings

I believe these functions will open your software up to many grateful professional video editors!

:thanks:

Is there any option in ripbot264 to convert to Bluray directly?

If I remember right, this option existed inb older versions. I don't want to burn AVCHD to BR because not all BR-Players support AVCHD so I prefer to use native BR format as output.

hoju3508

@QUEENFAN, you can always change --avchd to --blu-ray manually in tsmuxer.meta file.

N1ghtjar
11th February 2013, 13:12
This is true but I have found more incompatability problems when selecting blu-ray strangly.
I never have an issue with selecting AVCHD with tsMuxer, but both my machines play AVCHD without issue.

It seems that they dumb filter marks everything with x264 and mkv as some illegal content. They removed benchmark because they didn't like test sequence SVT_1080p50.mkv in archive.
