I solved ALL problems !!!

This version DO NOT accept ffdshow for x64 !!!!
That was the problem and all error .
I'm using win 7 x64 and I must install ffdshow 32....

and a new question :

I tried to change some parameters in Profile/subpixel refinement ,from 7 to 9....It seems that gaves me some gap between sound and images.
If this is NOT the reason for gap between sound and images , can tell me smb what are the reason for disparty ???

I'Ve got an small issue about this mkv file.

I had no 1080P size for resize in AVCHD mode.

Check in the ratio of the source; it's a 4:3 ratio in 1080P but ripbot264 doesnt give me the choice to convert it to 1080P 4:3>16:9!

fyi bluray players will play 4:3 stuff, like 1440x1080, or whatever the standard is

I know but in the past i was able to convert a 4:3 1.33 size to fit on a 16:9 1:35 ratio and play has a 1080P 16:9 format but only display the 4:3 image.

Took the example of Fantasia HD 16:9 Bluray released in that same situation, is the same.

So i just would like to know if ripbot is not able or just a setting method to took 1080P image.

I'd like to request a feature, an option to do a test encode of 10 seconds. It'd require a check box and then the user specifies a starting time.

I can't understand why a .ts file ,after encoding results an .mkv out-of-sync.
It is the first movie that happened such an out-of-sync....Can someone explain me what are the reasons for such an error ??

In some cases, when I did a "TS muxing" in a MKV with the tsMuxeR to obtain a TS, the RipBot accused some delay problems.
When I began using the "Demux" I had no problems of delay.
It was the way I managed to escape from the TS format, which in my case here, he is not very well accepted by RipBot.
I do not exchange the RipBot264 for any other, he is excellent.

muxing doesn't need codecs (as far as I know). it's decoding / playing that does
did you check the log for errors? does your destination drive have enough space for it to finish?
try a manual mux using the .264 from the temp (the audio and subs will be in the job folder itself)

Just a noob typ question. I often have MKV containers that have 24fps or 25fps that I need to change 23.976 the problem we all know is the audio becoming un-synced. I've done a search on this and I believe the only answer is use eac3to. I've recently downloaded the latest version (I was using ver. 1.1.4.6 and much has improved). Is there a way of doing this within Ripbot now? I know it has the assume --> 23.976 but I don't see an option to stretch or shrink the audio to match the new video. If I choose the assume option will it automatically adjust the audio? If it doesn't have this ability yet, Atak do you think this is something that could be added in the future?

A "codec" is a converter for video or audio formats, implemented as loadable plugin, integrated in a software or operating system.

Multiplexing combines several streams and wraps them into a container; it does not "convert", so a multiplexer does not use any "codec".

If the multiplexing process gets stuck, the multiplexer doesn't work correctly. Depending on your target format, there are different multiplexer tools used. But as long as you don't tell us details (which contained formats to be multiplexed into which container format), your report doesn't tell us anything.

is it possible to include crop, resolution, fps, in customer profile aswell as the usual stuff in the profile?
this way if I have a queue of things with resolution change/whatever I don't have to go and edit output options of each job in queue if they're all the same?

crop and resolution both seem to be done through avisynth
so they're not something you can put in the profile. there may be a way to create a custom script or something...but someone else would need to help you with that
there is a --fps 24000/1001 switch in the x264 cmd...so you may be able to to specify that in the profile

It will slow down the audio from 25 FPS to 23.97 FPS no problem.

I also use eac3to for this, if I'm not otherwise using RibBot.

DTS and AC3 are both supposed to be transparent
DTS-HDMA and DTS are NOT the same thing
if you're encoding DTS-HD to AC3 you're dropping HD audio
and from what you've said...I'm guessing that's what you're doing since you wouldn't be dropping 1-4GB by simply encoding a DTS 1536 core to AC3
personally I look very negatively on such things...but it's all up to you. if you have a nice home theater setup and such, I would suggest you keep the HD audio. if you're watching movies on your grandma's 26" CRT tv....


eac3to and aften are just different softwares that can be used for AC3 encoding (eac3to also capable of much more)...obviously they're not the same.
I have no idea how their encoding compares though.

That's great Atak, thanks! Obvious question, if original audio is dts then the only opton is, if you want the audio speed adjusted, is to convert to ac3 right? It doesn't appear to give a dts to dts conversion/adjust audio speed.

I gave it a try and it produced an error. However I think I have the solution to your problem.

Download this file:

Then go in Ripbot264/Tools rename the mp4box folder to mp4box_old or something, extract this file and rename its folder to mp4box.

It should now create over 4GB Mp4 files correctly.

If you haven't delete the temp files from your previous project, just open a command line and copy paste this line from your log:

and it should create the mp4 file just fine without re-encoding.

I have tried transcoding Syriana a ton of different ways and it is the first movie of the dozens I have done with Ripbot that has an issue.

The audio is out of sync with the video. The audio is running a few seconds ahead of the video. What info do you guys need to help me troubleshoot this?

Hey quick question. After muxing a BD movie to mkv, then encode it to 18, it has a size of 6-12gig. If you take the file you have just encoded, and encode it to 18 again, will the file size be exacly the same? Or it will drop more down?

You might want to just stick with the default setting of 22 as there is no real notable differences other then the over abundantly large file size.

Plus you wont end up needing to re encode and damage video quality to gain a smaller file size.

I am having an issue with ripbot stopping when it gets to "Please wait... Gathering information" after demuxing. This issue began to occur after I updated from 1.16.3 to 1.16.4. It apears that there may have been some leftover data that is causing the issue. I have tried uninstalling all required software, updating all the software and reinstalling in the recommended order (i found this info from another thread on here). I've tried going back to 1.16.3 and it still gives me the same problem. I have found a workaround solution by moving the ripbot 1.16.4 folder to my D: drive. It works fine on my D: drive by not on C: (my OS drive). Do you have any ideas what could be causing the issue?

It's certainly bearable, and is more noticeable some times than others. I capture using the default setting of 22 and setting denoise to film. I have noticed this across versions of Ripbot and from several video sources, monitor, HDTV, and projector using different computers and different software players. Is there something I can do that will reduce the banding? I imagine encoding without the denoise would help, but I like the clean look and better encoding compression that I get with it. It sounds like it could be something mechanically at fault.
One drive vs another in this situation tells me that the software is working. the Drive on the other hand may be near failing. (Age of the drive doesn't matter).

I would clone the C: drive to a new hard drive and boot off the new drive to see if the problem continues.

I bought a copy of Dark City, which I'd like to re-encode for my HTPCs, but RipBot is not cropping it correctly. It's supposed to be 2.35:1, which should be 1920x816, but when I set it to that in RipBot, it crops off a good portion of the top and bottom. Is there anything I can look at to fix this? It plays fine in VLC and MPC. Thanks for any help.

Hi,

I have been using Ripbot for the last few days after thinking I had FINALLY found a solution (after using Vidcoder, Xvid4PSP top name a few of probably a dozen programs) I have been using the AVCHD setting choosing 1280X720 as the resolution & 640Kbps for 6 Channel Sound & CQ 18 for maximum quality. I have been getting fantastic results in both quality & file sizes...for example

A Bugs Life 2.2GB
Cats & Dogs 2.7GB
Zombieland 2.6GB
Wild Hogs 2.6GB

But now the problem I have is that for the following movies I am getting great quality but ridiculous file sizes

Black Death 9.6GB
Juno 10.2GB
Bend It Like Beckham 8.6GB

I have checked the output with mediainfo & they are definately 1280X720 & 640kbps like the rest but approx 2 times the file size. This is due to the video stream now becoming 10.1 mbps instead of the usual 3500 - 5000 I have been getting on the other films.

Can someone please point me in the right direction as to the best solution to this as even on my Quad Core it is taking 4 hours for each movie (the previous movies were taking about 2)

If I pull up some left over jobs from my old Windows drive, I get click Start but it just says Initializing and in task manager I see avs2yuv and pipebuf using almost no RAM and no CPU at all. I even left it like that for a full day just to make sure.

I've reinstalled ffdshow, the splitter, and AVISynth 2.5.8 ST a dozen times and nothing is working. I'm really frustrated because everything worked just fine on my old Windows 7 install and I still have some jobs waiting to be processed.

Actually, that's not the case. The video was ripped on my old installation of Windows 7 and the encode started just fine on that system. I just canceled it in order to install Windows 7 on my new SSD.

The same problem also happens on 4 existing rips that I already converted on my old Windows 7 system.
