maybe updated mediainfo.dll will help http://mediaarea.net/download/binary/libmediainfo0/0.7.60/MediaInfo_DLL_0.7.60_Windows_i386_WithoutInstaller.7z

I updated the mediainfo.dll and am still receiving the floating point error. I un/reinstalled everything and am still having the same issue. The strange thing is, it doesn't happen to every video file I attempt to add.

I'm using makemkv to rip my movies and then add them in. I've also tried using ripbot+anydvdhd to rip them. I've run into a couple discs that can't be ripped by either setup and I've run into a disc that can be ripped by one program, but not the other.

Do you have any other suggestions I might try?

Thanks!

@Zeruel
in 2-PASS mode encoding client uses 10 min chunks. smaller chunk would only reduce quality.

however in CQ MODE this problem does not exist so encoding client will use 1 min chunks.

@GABES
national characters are not supported.

@USELTONM
send me 1min sample of problematic .mkv

i will have to see if i can reproduce your issue.

This might have been asked before, but I couldn't find it. Is it possible at all to do the demuxing/combining that happens when you first add a job to after you hit the start button?

Some questions if anyone could help

When ripbot is set to ouput in AVCHD does it already take the overhead into account?

Does anyone know what the overhead is?

Im making myself DTS-MA BD25 AVCHD's so I calculate it by subtracting the lossless sound total in megabytes from the 23830 megabytes that ripbot shows and encode with no sound.
The issue is that sometime the result is ending with an oversize encode once the sound is muxed back in, any help would be great.

Ah. I had misunderstood how the batch mode worked. Interesting. Though it doesn't appear to have a way to specify you want to include subtitles and have to go back and add that manually. And everything gets named video.mp4/mkv.

Thanks Atak_Snajpera for your great program, the Distributed Encoding is awesome! Do you plan supporting more input format like .TS with H264 (for distributed encoding)?
It's the format I use with my Hauppauge Colossus and my HTPC.

Keep up the great work

Hi Atak, I did a "DE" from an original blu-ray and the final file is corrupt at the same place where the chunks are. For example if I use CQ, I'll get a "drop" exactly at every minutes in my final file. If I use 2-pass I get the drop every 10 minutes. Did the test with MKV and AVCHD.

thanks

Could there be like filesize indicator? Just say I'm attempting to render 1 hour video, and using CRF=14, at the bottom while rendering next to eta=, could there be like size information, that shows the output size approximately?

No but that's because it doesn't know the complexity of the film and bits required in advance. Doesn't matter though just use 2 pass mode and set the final output size.

Atak,

Forgive if this has been asked before, but is the copy stream supposed to just copy over the original audio stream?

I have done a few encodes and it always seems to be downmixing or reencoding the audio from DTS-MA etc.

I really want to keep the original audio whereever possible, if you say to use certain settings and it will sound the same Ill believe you, but so far it has not or I'm doing something wrong.

FWIW I am going from my Blu-Ray discs > MKV which is played through XBMC to my Sony 7.1 receiver, which can decode all the major audio standards and is connected to my HTPC via HDMI.

Great product and thanks for any help you can provide, if the answer is here in the forums feel free to tell me to search and I will.

:)

Atak, I now see the error of my ways as I did not know that MKV does not support certain audio formats. Guess ill have to do some tests to determine the best audio to use for maintaining all the channels with MKV files.

Thanks.

So I've noticed that the app makes more chunks in CQ mode and less in 2-pass. I guess this is because it needs something to analyze in 2-pass. But Is there any way I can "force" the creation of more chunks in 2 pass?

Atak_Snajpera
2nd November 2012, 11:41
smaller chunks for 2pass mode will only reduce quality because bitrate distribution will be too flatten. vbr will become more like cbr. basically this means that high motion scenes and static less detailed scenes will get moreorless the save amount of bits. 10 min chunks is just a compromise.

Atak,

I know that most sites claim that HD Audio streams such as DTS MA-HD and TRUEHD cant be placed into an MKV container. Yet BD Rebuilder creates MKV files while leaving the audio intact.

Is there a chance down the road you will add an option at the first stage to copy stream or better yet an intact audio option as JDobbs has?

Better yet why do we even have to make those choices Pre demux anyway? I would think that adding the title would provide all the elementary streams and then on the next page you could choose all the options for output. As it stands now if you make any mistake on the first page you have to sit through the entire Demux again.

If i am missing something or am totally wrong please feel free to point out my mistake, as I'm sure I'll learn something from it.

v1.17.4 (Unfinished)
Added: OPUS AUDIO CODEC (at 64kbps quality better than FhG HE-AAC!)
Added: Automatic Upmix Mono to Stereo (reason: FhG AAC does not support mono)
Added: EncodingClient will now automatically share Ripbot264temp folder
Added: Progress indicator while combining chunks
Added: AC3 192kbps,224kbps,256kbps profiles to mkv container
Added: Option in RipBot264.ini for tweaking sharpening strength after resizing
Fixed: Hanging on some AAC files during 'Gathering information' stage
Changed: Vorbis codec removed (Reason: OPUS offers better quality than Vorbis)
Updated: BassAudio 2.4, FFmpeg 2012-10-29, MediaInfo 0.7.61, MKVToolnix 5.8.0, x264 r2216

NOT WORKING:
Muxing .opus files to matroska container does not work because matroska team has not figured out yet how to support properly new audio format in .mkv

So we can not test the Opus codec, since it is not supported by Matroska and mp4 containers.:confused:

I do not know if you have influence but what use is this output and profile.
DefaultContainer=mkv
DefaultProfile=Slower, No Dct, AQ, Film
If i change to mp4 profile is automatically switched to [HI10 x.x] HD . PC ONLY . 10bit, which does not happen(correctly) when the output is changed to AVCHD.

Dear Atak,

I used ripbot 1.17.2 and 1.17.3 - in both versions I get the same error:

---------------------------
Application Error
---------------------------
Exception EOutOfResources in module RipBot264.exe at 0004CBCC.
RichEdit line insertion error.
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

see attachment. My OS is Windows 7 x64, I am logged under a user who is in administrators group.

I do the following: I add many mts files which are in different folders (path to them look like this D:\Pictures\_Pics_2012\2012-01-10\mts\20120110231512.MTS - they are groupped by dates) and then I set up following conversion parameters:
profile 4.0
2 pass 6000 kbps
resize to 1280*720
deinterlace tff 50
audio - xcopy
output mkv to D:\Pictures\_Pics_2012\_mkv\

As I see in C:\temp\RipBot264temp\jobs.list
the last line is [Job84] 20120122230840.MTS -> 20120122230840.mkv

but there are 85 folders - the last one is job85. So, most probably the last one has problems. The files in job85 folders are not all - there are just 6 of them:

11/04/2012 01:18 AM 1,689,856 2_audio_Undetermined.ac3
11/04/2012 01:18 AM 707 demuxlog.txt
11/04/2012 01:18 AM 407 job85.avs
11/04/2012 01:18 AM 245 TSExtract.cmd
11/04/2012 01:18 AM 168 TSgetinfo.cmd
11/04/2012 01:18 AM 431 tsinfo.txt

I see no files with more details about any exceptions neither in the job85 folder, nor in the ripbot folder.

I am sure on 100% that this is an interface bug with RichEdit control where you adding some data which it doesn't expect.

I want to help you reproduce the problem. You may send to my email (ibobak at gmail dot com) the "debug" version which will output some additional log files with traces, exceptions, etc.

ibobak

check your free space
this is not the case: I have 50 GB of free space on disk c and same amount on disk d.

besides, the application doesn't stop working on this error. it asks me "do you want to stop conversion?" (something like that). No matter if I press yes or no, it CONTINUES its work and converts all the files except the one on which the problem was.

ibobak
4th November 2012, 10:32
moreover, when it finishes its work, I remove all jobs, add that mts file (that it crashed on it previous time), start conversion again - AND IT WORKS.

So, the problem is not in the file. The problem is Delphi bug or wrong usage of RichEdit.

I am a programmer. If author gives me the sources, I can debug for him and help him fix it. OR, alternatively, give me the version which ourputs a trace to a file.

Hi there.

I have started the encoding off now, and again avs2yuv has crashed at 18.7% on the first pass (it's a different progress each time). I don't believe this to be an issue with RipBot264 itself, but potentially an issue between avs2yuv and the C++ runtime library. Given the fact that the runtime is the same dll regardless of the OS, I am hedging my bets that AVS2YUV is calling on a particular function that is not recognised through some compatibility issue with Windows 8. Either way, Windows 8 is officially released and people have started upgrading already :)

Also, thanks for the response, Atak. I waited 5 days to be able to post, only to receive an abrupt response from you. I'm sorry if I said something wrong, but maybe a small point in the right direction may have helped :) I even provided all the information I could. Hopefully someone a little more helpful may be able to lend a hand :)

@ibobak

I will do it after I will encode all these mts files.
But I don't think I have so much avi's.

if you could give me a version which dumps debug info between every line of code with variable values, etc, and which does

try{
dump variables;
some action(variables);
line_number = 1;
dump more variables;
another_action(variables);
line_number = 2;
}
catch{
dump into a file the line_number
}

- then I would be able to give you all the dump when it crashes next time.

I don't believe the problem is in avi or in mts or in file format. As we can see from exception, it tells "RichEdit line insertion error."

If we google it, we'll find this
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/10474883/why-am-i-getting-richedit-line-insertion-error-when-i-call-delete-in-onchange-ev

I was programming on Delphi long ago (I am C# developer for past 10 years), so I don't remember those technical details. But it seems as it is related to some control's problem.
