Also, I was also able to load both video and audio file in MPC and play. However, the sound diminished after 10 minutes or so and then went silent.

I tried to put CheckRequiredSoftware=0 in RipBot264.ini, but it doesn't work. Anyone know if this parameter has changed?

What i'd like to do is moving all my DVD on harddisk with subtitles, no extra or menu.

Hi Guys

Hoping I could get some advice. I've been trying to compress some of my recorded tv files (TS files) into mkv files for playback on a popcorn hour device.

I've been using the High 4.0 profile with 2pass at around 3300kbs.

The file creation goes fine but when playing back the file I seem to get de-interlacing problems on any rapid moving scenes which the source file doesn't display when played back.

Generally hdtv in Australia is 1080i so that's what the majority of my source files will be. Is there a setting I need to change to resolve the picture quality/de-interlacing problems?

Thank you for all of your hard work. It is certainly appreciated. Ripbot264 is an amazing piece of programming and I am grateful for it.

For some reason I can no longer successfully load an HDV file into Ripbot. On both of my Windows 7 64 bit machines Ripbot hangs at "Please Wait...Gathering Information". This happens on both machines no matter the size or length of the HDV file.

The HDV MPEG-2 is 1440 X 1080i from a Sony HDR-HC1 captured using Pinnacle Studio 12. I'm using v1.14.5 at the present time.

I've reinstalled all of the external programs with the same results on both machines. Is this a known problem or is the problem on my end?

Thank you for your quick response. I'm using the American English version of Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit version 6.1.7600 build 7600 on both of my machines.

I've use the Filter Tweaker, and avs2avi.exe not crashed yet.

Its called "Win7DSFilterTweaker". Normally when import mkv file or bluray direct m2ts uncrypted, ripbot ffdshow never open in system tray. I've make the settings with the tweaker and ripbot have imported and ffdshow filter open.

I've tried changing the default MPEG-2 direct show filters using the Filter Tweaker. In the 32 bit column I have a choice of 3 (ffdshow was the default). No changes I made would allow me to load an HDV file into Ripbot. In the 64 bit column there was only 1 choice that that was Microsoft's MPEG-2 decoder. I tried clicking it off and then loading it into Ripbot but still no luck.

I'm hopeful someone with Windows 7 64 bit and the latest ripbot will try to load the file and let me know if the problem is with Windows 7 64 bit, Ripbot or my two systems. Here's the link to the 2 second HDV file:

Seems like the more recent bluray titles i've been using with Ripbot the audio downconversion is either not working or I'm doing something wrong (while nothing different.) The goal (for me) is to have the Dolby or DTS (downconverted) from the HD version audio. Instead I get PCM as the default audio stream. I can fix this by running the .m2ts through TSMuxer first and downconverting the audio, however I know this feature used to work (for me) in Ripbot directly.

It's normal than you have only one option in the 64bit edition because ripbot264 required 32bit ffdshow, you can install ffdshow 64bit for playing purpose only if you really want, but i personnally would like to eleminate less possiblity for bugs or trouble and try to find the problem by after.

Yeah. Let me pull main sup file from hunt from red october and will pm you the link. That title most of dialog is in english however there are small sections that are in russian. When you go to open the sup file with bdsup2sub at the bottom it tells you how many lines? were forced.

Yikes. I just discovered that the latest versions of Ripbot are no longer removing the temp files it creates. I just discovered this when I suddenly ran out of room on my C drive. I found over 100 gb of data in several RipBot264temp directories scattered over 3 partitions.

Been using the program for a while and love it but been running into a problem recently after selecting all the changes I want for my job, and when I start the process, it would just get stuck @ "Please wait.....initializing". It just recently started doing this for some reason :(

Atak, is there a reason why the custom resolution/aspect ratio buttons adjust in increments of 4 pixels instead of 2?

I find that a fair few aspect ratio's aren't exactly 2.35:1, 2.40:1 etc. and require manually overriding to maintain the proper proportion to the source. For example, I've just done an encode where the cropping required -128 pixels from the top and bottom. 1080-256=824, and 824/1.5=549.33 (for 1080p>720p). Using the custom aspect ratio buttons, I was only able to select 1280x548 or 1280x552 when I needed 1280x550 to maintain the closest proportion to the source. Obviously I can manually adjust the AVS script which I always do, but just wondered if it was possible to change it so that the custom aspect ratio buttons increase/decrease in 2's instead of 4's?

The m2ts original file was 17.4 GB (13.5 GB for vc1 video, which is 17.6 Mbps) and the resulting mkv file is only 5.12 GB (bitrate : 6662 kbps with 5889 kbps for video). Isn't it stange ? Of course I know that 1 pass x264 transcoding gives different results based on what happen on screen. But still. Before v1.4.4, my transcoded videos were all between 9 and 15 GB. And now, they're more between 5 and 10 GB.

Does anyone fell the same ?

That'll be the work of mbtree which was introduced to x264 as a default from revision 1200. Version 1.14.3 was the last Ripbot to use a non-mbtree x264 revision. I personally don't use mbtree (yet, at least) and it can be turned off by manually adding --no-mbtree anywhere in the script/box of the x264 command line at the bottom of the video options section.

On the other hand, many will tell you that your new smaller file sizes are actually the same quality as your previously larger file sizes because of mbtree. Perceptively, anyway.

I've had it sit for 6 hours :(, it seems to only be an issue when I want to burn in subtitles into a AVCHD file.

I have an i7 2.6ghz so it shouldn't take that long :D

Yes, i check it my self & it work with out transcoding it again but the down side is that for some reason b frames don't work >_<, maybe MS will fix it in the next firmware.

That's weird. I am using 1.14.5 as well and just set up two jobs for Transformers 2 and Land of the Lost which generated MKV files of 32.5 GB and 20.6 GB, respectively. I, too, am using the default High 4.0 profile but didn't see "mbtree" in any of the syntax.

If you don't have Arcsoft DTS-HD decoder installed then you get DTS-core (1,5Mbps)
If you have above decoder installed then you get DTS-MA decompressed to .wav or .flac
Decompressed audio can be converted to AC3 640 kbps (the same quality as DTS 1,5Mbps but 2.35 times smaller size)

Quick question, I just installed a fresh copy of Win 7 64-bit. I am starting from scratch and not sure I'm missing something.

Like you said when I tried to rip DTS-HD movies before it would come up with Copy Stream, and I'd get a core DTS track (which is what I wanted). However, I just tried to load up "Serenity" that has a DTS-HD track but I am not getting the Copy Stream option. Did I miss re-installing something? This is with the newest version of Ripbot along with all the required software (AVIsynth, FFDshow, Mastroska, and Java), and nothing else.
