I modified the script like you said and it still didn't work. I encoded the the same file with Vidcoder and it works!

i searched this thread, and saw versions of this question asked, but never found a solid answer. is it possible to encode to 720p without black bars?

i notice the black bars on fixed on the outputted file, making it exactly 1280x720. what if you don't want black bars at all? for example, i was converting a 1080p movie rip that i calculated to be a 1280x544 image (without black bars) when 720p. i selected the high profile (4.0) then under properties i go to "do not crop" and "size = custom (x,xx:1)" and i input 1280x544.

the resulting file just squishes the picture and makes the black bars larger, instead of just encoding the video stream itself down to 1280x544, without black bars. what am i doing wrong?

does ripbot add the black bars just to make it easier to encode for the user as i've read in previous posts, or is there some benefit to the monitor/screen to have it perfectly 1280x720 already? i just know if i'm watching something in windowed mode on my laptop, i'd rather not have the black bars, they take up extra space that's unnecessary.

side question:
ripbot 1.16.0 & 1.16.1 won't take my demuxed .264 video files, nothing happens when i load them, i have to use 1.15.1 to encode HD stuff, but 1.16.0&1 take my .vob files just fine. any ideas?

Man i can't figure out my subtitle problem

I had as issue with Avatar and now 2012 , do i need to install anything else other then ripbot to get the subtitles to burn in.

I select build in picture and then select the subtitle in the temp folder but it never seems to work for me.

i have java so that is not an issue
It would help if you actually said what kind of subtitles you're trying to add.

Check your job's AVS file, and see whether it contains something like:

Also, java?? Are you trying to use actual .SUP files, by any chance? Then you need to install the SupTitle plugin; like:

N.B. I always run my .SUP files through BDSup2Sub first, and export to a new SUP file (you'd be surprised how many errors a .SUP file contains on average).

I have found out that ripbot seems to encode faster and better when i run it in administrator mode in 64 bit windows 7 instead of the default account that you use when you set up your pc.

I require proof of this improbable claim. you should try doing same exact encode twice (once normal, once admin). same pc uptime, same programs running etc

I got a question though: It appears that +/- keys are disabled in the preview mode, is there a way to enable them so i can detect the amount of audio delay much easier? If it's not possible it'll be much appreciated if you could enable this feature.

Quick question, I have a Blu Ray disc of a TV show (6 episodes on the disc). When ripbot analyzes the the disc it shows me three playlists. The 1st playlist is of the entire 6 episodes grouped together. The 2nd and 3rd playlist are of Episode #1 and #2. Any idea why a playlist is not showing for episode #3-6?

EDIT: OK, did a little more digging, I am wondering if it is a bug with eac3to? Using Clown_BD I only see the three playlists as well, but if I use MakeMKV I can see all 7 playlists (1 master playlist and 6 episode playlists). The other option I was thinking was to use MakeMKV to get an mkv of each episode, and then run the episode mkv through Ripbot

I have said it before, but this app rocks :-) Just did Final Destination 4 from BD to MKV using CQ22. Cropped black borders and filesize ended at 2.8 GB. Beautiful quality :-) AMAZING!!!!!!

prettyboy85712 sometimes ffdshow can make it where ripbot does not see any video or audio. Try ffdshow build 3477 and see if that helps out.

Just out of curiosity I tried the sample I uploaded and it worked just fine. If I pull the main m2ts file out of the stream folder everything is detected, but of course it doesn't have a playlist. It may be a bad rip, so I'm doing it again.

While your solution works and allows the file to be detected correctly, it doesn't allow me to create a 2-pass encode due to the missing playlist. I'm trying to hit a target size to burn.

Other than what I posted above yes. These are the unaltered txt files. The movie never completes the demux. It just errors out with "DirectShowSource: couldn't open file C:\temp\RipBot264temp\job1\video.mkv:

Updated, but still get the same error message. However, I can now encode the main m2ts file 2-pass by removing it from the stream folder. It's a work around, but least it works.

Rename your folder from "D:\--= Complete =--\" to "D:\Complete\" and it will work!

@ Atak- Hey man, I really hope you can help me.. I have done 75 plus blu ray encodes with your program with no issues until now...


Here is my issue: I start an encode (it doesn't matter if I select 2 pass or quality (CBR)) and use all of the default settings.. I select an M2ts file (have also tried MKV) with AC3 Aften audio (the audio I always use (640kbps)). The streams demux .. Everything goes great.. The program starts encoding (lets say CBR 18 setting) .. It gives me a 2 hour time that it is going to be finished encoding in.. Keep in mind that I have a i5 750 quad core.. It is fast.. but cannot encode a constant quality blu ray movie like "Avatar" (yes, I own the Blu ray as well) in 2 hours or less.. So I let Ripbot do the encoding process.. The time ends up going up to about what it should be .. around 7-8 hours to complete. After the file is completed.. It gives me a different file size each time.. Some times it is a small Kilobyte file and some times it is a small Megabyte file that obviously doesn't work.. The file size should be a few Gigabytes at least .. So obviously something has gone wrong with my ripbot264..

Things I have tried doing:

I have uninstalled all ripbot plugins, ripbot itself, windows 7, etc.. Reinstalled all to the latest versions.. and I have tried older versions as well.. When I reinstalled Windows 7 again fresh, I even deleted my hard drive completely and made a brand new partition. After all of this I'm still getting the same issue.. Remember that I have successfully encoded 75+ movies perfectly in your program and I'm just all of a sudden having problems.. I figured something was up with my computer so I tried Megui and I can successfully encode a full blu ray no problems..

I have also looked at the log file when ripbot is running and it will display a completely different time that the encode will be completed than the actual ripbot and they will always remain different .. For instance: Ripbot will state that the movie has 2 hours remaining and the log in the cmd window will state that it has 18 hours remaining and then will just shoot up in the cmd window..

PLEASE help me man! I really want to get ripbot working again..

I noticed eac3to cannot read avs files, would it be useful for you if it could, how are you currently processing audio? I consider making a feature request eac3to reading avs, if a couple of GUI authors support this request it has a better chance for being successful.

i'm giving your program a whirl after getting a but frustrated with megui (feeling like its using a shotgun to kill a fly).

anyway, is there a way i can change the default settings to be 2pass ~1meg, enable resize etc, ala megui's one-click profiles?

i'm converting 1080i and 720p hdtv caps to 624x352@1meg or 960x540@2meg sorta like standard scene rips.

edit: maybe this is covered in help documentation that i cant find?
