I've got a problem ripping Downfall (2004) from Blu-ray. When I add the job, the only audio track available is an AC3 German, 2.0 channels, when there should be a 5.1 channels track. Also, there are no subtitles available, and there should be English subtitles.

Edit: Also, I just noticed... when it finishes demuxing, the audio track's length is reported as 8:39:21.952.

Well, it's almost 500MB, so it'll be a while until it's uploaded. Had to split the zipfile containing the structure to be able to upload it to mediafire, hope that's not a problem.

I have a suggestion for the program.

Did you can add a line on the top of movie and audio with the current size of original file, or the video and audio file size so i can save time to open a explorer, get the source size and set the DVD5 or DVD9 ?

That's a copy of the BD structure, with m2ts files clipped/trimmed to 20MB, everything zipped, then the zipfile split into 3 pieces to allow for mediafire's 200MB cap.

Does it include a "preview image" into the video, and that image is showen by iTunes, a Video Player or Windows as preview?
And what are the limits that picture nedds to have (size, aspect ratio...)

I zipped the whole structure, then I split the zipfile using DGSplit into three pieces. Should just be able to paste the three segments together into a valid zip file (for example: copy DOWNFALL_CLIPPED.zip_0 /b + DOWNFALL_CLIPPED.zip_1 /b + DOWNFALL_CLIPPED.zip_2 /b DOWNFALL_CLIPPED.zip /b).

Trying that now. Only thing I can think of is subtitles must be burned in on the original video. The movie DOES have english subtitles, at least when I watch it on my Blu-ray player.

Yup, apparently the subtitles are burnt in. Preview showed them properly. By the way, the preview is video-only, right? I didn't hear any audio when viewing the preview, but I'm thinking the preview is just of the video anyway.

Hello – I have been using RipBot for awhile now with very few issues, great prog btw - thanks Atak. I do have two questions though.
1 – Is it recommended to update the various tools (x264, eac3to, etc.) as they come out with new versions or wait till RipBot includes the updates. Or is it a case of don't fix what’s not broken.
2 – I noted that if I want to encode to 720p, the cropping settings do not stick auto or manual. Is that the norm? I know that including the “black bars” does not eat up much space supposedly, but if I wanted to crop in a 720 encode, how?

I have just a lil reproach : when an encode is finished the soft didn't pup up an advertisment or don't generate a sound to draw our attention ;-)
..but maybe isn't necesary , because could generates interferences within the encodes processes....It works great , as usual :D

The .idx and .sub are working thanks to your method, I also got it to work by opening it with VobSup's submux and saving it as a .ass.
Unfortunately I do not have the DVD or the .sup with me right now so I can't provide you with the original .sup file.

How did you get those files idx/sub? Ripbot264 does not extract subtitles from DVD sources (.vob).

Now i want to load the LOW - Blu-Ray in RipBot264 and add the DVD-Audio-Track to this job. Now my questions:

1. Would it be possible and if yes how can i change the audio-"fps" from 25fps to 23,9... fps? So can i access the "-slowdown"-command from eac3to within the RipBot?

2. I don't want the video-track to be recoded, just copy. I've never seen a function like that. Is there any workaround for just copy the Video-Track and if not it would be a great idea to implement that!

3. Sometimes I love to watch english-speaking movies in it's original language. Is it possible to include 2 audio-tracks with the RipBot? So that I can build this new "Lord Of War - German - Blu-Ray" with two audio-tracks (English and German)?

Would be nice if anyone could help me or if Atak says "multiple languages; audio-resampling and copy tracks will be available soon!"

Encode the video from bluray to 25fps. Mux this video file and your audio tracks from the DVD to one file with mkvtoolnix (Open mmg.exe under "tools\mkvtoolnix" and just drag&drop the video and audio tracks.)

Thanks but i just want to use RipBot264 on as much steps as possible on this Blu-Ray-Mod and i definitely don't want to change the video-source. I know how to transform 25fps-audio to a 23,93fps-audio with eac3to but it would be great if anyone knows if and how it is possible within RipBot!

I'm afraid that you can't change those settings using RipBot. RipBot was designed from the ground up to be a "simple" GUI. This means that the more advanced options (like changing the audio fps) have been either abstracted away or not even available.

Pretty much everything you want to do cannot be done with RipBot (like changing the audio speed, including more than one audio track, or copying the video track).

Now, before I offer some solutions, what output format do you desire? Do you want another Blu-ray or AVCHD, or would you like a DVD render, or an MP4 or MKV, etc. etc.

Could anyone help me, I'm running the latest version of Ripbot, installed ffdshow manually and I'm still having issues with out of sync audio. I'm on windows 7 pro 64 bit. Ripbot 1.14 seemed to work fine, but some more recent blu ray dvd's seemed to hang and so I got the latest version. Is there anything I'm doing wrong?

On the one hand it's called "a simple" programm, on the other hand you're aloud to resize the video, change video-fps, crop or denoise the video and even change color-space for the video. So it seems a little bit more as simple. Just copy the video-track or add a second/third audio-track would be MORE simple then these things i've listed above. You can copy the audio-track why not video?

What i want to do:
1. RIP and demux my bought Blu-Ray to HDD
2. Demux the DVD of the same movie to Disk (because it includes german subtitles and audio-track)
3. Combine BD-Video-Track, BD-Audio-Track (english DTS-5.1), BD-Subtitles (english), DVD-Audio-Track (german DTS-5.1) and DVD-Subtitles (german)

you realize that by changing framerates you aren't ruining the video in anyway, it just makes it 'faster'. all the content and quality is still there.

personally I'd just use eac3to by itself if absolutely necessary to change the audio framerate.
And subtitle workshop to change the subtitle framerate

Anyone notice a big difference in the filesize of the output, compared to the older versions? I went from 1.14.x to 1.16.1, and I notice the output is much smaller. Take the movie info below for instance. At the same quality (CQ18), the size went from 17.9 GB to 13 GB. Pretty sure the profiles were the same too. Audio the same.

I saw the vast difference in version 2.4.2 -> 4.0.0... But I didn't see anything on the MKVtoolnix site about efficiency improvements.

So... Is it encoding much more efficiently now, like 25% or so, or is it simply dropping the bitrate for the same quality setting?
