The option is there for almost 1 year already :) and is not specific to version 4.0

If you already created a compilation and don't want to re-run just because of this option, open index.bdmv with BDedit and edit the first command of object #256.

It says SetStream 2147598337,0 (51C00001 8001C001 00000000) -> replace it with NOP (00000000 00000000 00000000) to match the one I boxed in green. (edit the 2nd box first - the one with 8001C001 and then the 1st one)

Yeah I figured it may have been there before. I just installed on my other pc and I guess I forgot about that setting.

Hi Dean,

...all of the BD-content got an error like this:

[18:07:32] Processing imported AVCHD/Blu-ray playlist...

[18:07:32] Media transfer: 00000 -> 00047.m2ts
[18:07:32] Input M2TS file missing/corrupted (k:\blu ray\dune\BDMV\STREAM\00000.m*ts). Replaced with empty clip!

The drive K:\ is reachable for multiAVCHD (read only).

You can't expect read-only source to work with [x] Move option. + multiAVCHD doesn't work well with read-only source folders/compilations. If your input compilation is multiAVCHD created and residing on a read-only drive make sure to untick [x] Move transitional files.

Hi dean,

I tried to make a compilation containing a 1920x1080p video, when it was done muzing it gave an error, the file is 11 gigabyte, and is split up into 3 parts,
multiavchd says that tsmuxer didnt make a playlist file and that it is tsmuxers's fault, i tried again, still same error, what could be the problem?

Nice... If there was no need to show the COPY progress then this wouldn't be a problem, but people want to know what is going on and a lot of progress bars (10 if possible).

FULL ACK

I've earlier changed the policy to "read only" because I lost some of my original files due to my fault of ticking "move transitional files" some time before :)

Just a note:

[x] Move transitional files

WILL NEVER TOUCH original/input files/folders. It is applied only when importing multiAVCHD compilations. [x] all does the same, but in addition to multiAVCHD compilations it will move unknown/Blu-ray/AVCHD playlists (created with other applications, camcoders or blu-ray disc structures).

i´m sorry if this has been asked before but this is way too much info to read up on, is MultiAVCHD using tsmuxer or has it some other/own muxing mechanism?

Hi Dean, fantastic work!!

I have a few basic questions from a newbie:

1. How do can i horizontal center my "headliner" and "footer" notations in "advanced menu settings"??

2. My chapter thumbnails do not playback on my player. When the disc is played, my top menu selection appears (XMB), but when i select each individual title, the thumbnails do not appear at all, whereas they appear in the chapter preview.

3. How come the "<" and ">" navigational arrows do not appear when i create "slide" or " carusel" menu when playing the dvd on my player? They appear when i use the menu preview.

Thanks for your help and continue the good work!!:thanks:

You could've clicked [remove] and then hold the [enter] key to delete more links, but editing the project works, too (I hope you edited/replaced -1 only in TLINKS tags).

If you have used multiAVCHD for preparing the titles (and not tsmuxer) you could've avoid remuxing of the input few times.

Add these three chapters should be the last thing for the last/final compilation.

edit: I'll also suggest to close and start multiAVCHD after each step and not using the [clear] button. Just to be sure that all is clean at each start.

Hi again,

Your tips to click once and hold [enter] key was superb, I don't need to replace -1 with -2 in text-editor, since pressing [enter] did it very fast. Yes, I did only replace -1 in TLINKS tags, no other places.

Here is my result from the test so far. I have to do some more testing, there was some problems with audio-sync after merging playlists and I need to find out where the out-of-sync arrived in the process.

Bye,
Dolsen

72 pictures may be too much. Use the option to split each 30 or 40 in separate title. It is a problem in avisynth and it can't open so many files at once.

Hi Dean,

after having a compilation-process running for nearly 24 hours, I've got an x264.exe error in a loop, when trying to extract 63 chapter-thumbs out of "Kingdom of Heaven". Seems, as if I can kick this compilation...

Suggestion: is it possible to have a button like "skip compiling this title", that works WHILE multiAVCHD is compiling?

So the work for all other titles wouldn't be gone. Or a button like "finish compilation right without actual title"...

Or "delete this title from compilation and go to next title"?

I know, that some menu-pages are then not correct becuase of the mising of this title.

But then I can re-compile this compiltion with "move transitional-files", what would save MUCH time :) (this time of course without the problematic title).

Regards

Puki

EDIT:

Maybe it could be another solution, if multiAVCHD would save the .mpf-file at different points of the compilation-process (because if I stop my compilation right now there isn't one).

I know, that I can stop my compilation right now and use the copied .m2ts-files for compiling again. But I cannot import the broken compilation as an "old compilation", so I have to reload all the files without title-names etc.

Summary: I would be lucky, if I could stop the compilation, and use all the good work in it for the next attempt (e.g. just without the problematic file or with a modified one).

I tried : "can't detect stream type".
There is no sound in the mpeg (It's separated in a Wav file), that's maybe a problem for TSMuxer.

I've killed like a mass-murderer  (at least 10 times) and I was watching the folders, where multiAVCHD places the extracted chapter-thumbs. There were 44 thumbs (of 63) and nothing happened...

The x264.exe-error came (after ca. 10s) again and again. Shall I continue killing? :p

YOU! WERE! SO! RIGHT! :thanks:

After killing x264.exe some times more, multiAVCHD was (re-)able to extract the last chapter-thumbs of this title again (only thumbs 45 - 51 out of 63 were not extracted ) and now the process goes on.

But maybe some of my ideas are nevertheless worth of thinking about, because sometimes compilations may crash unrecoverable...

A little request about the SETUP menu.
Can add a option to desactive the (X) close button (display and navigation).
On some custom menus, this button is not needed.

An other request, add "video and audio background" option for SETUP and CHAPTER menus, if it's aviable.

Hello deank! The more I use multiAVCHD, more I like the software!

I have a problem: I'm trying to use a mkv file and an external SRT sub file, but after conversion, in setup menu, the external srt file that I've used appears as "English", even when I change the language to "POR" (portuguese) in External Subtitles guide (video properties). Why is that?

And a suggestion: is it possible to make the track name "changeable" and put whatever I want for external SRT subs (like the "audio track name" or embedded sub option)?

Thanks!

I'm attempting to use the Join tab to create a single title from 35 .m2ts files from a camcorder. The m2ts files are the only files in the folder. The properties of the resultant camdump file has a duration of 01:11:44.000 which seems about right. However, the video that's displayed in the properties window seems to be one m2ts file duplicated for the entire length. That is, if I move the video timeline slider all the way to the right, I see frames from one file and no frames from the other 34 files. The camdump.txt file has 35 chapter points, but they are all within the first 20 minutes

Is this a bug or have I missed as needed setting? I was expecting a single title from the joined files with the chapter points at the beginning of each joined file.

I'm using 4.0.736

You didn't miss anything... I'll check it, but since I didn't change anything about m2ts-join I guess there is a problem with tsdemux, which handles the join.

If you have the original playlist(s) of these m2ts files you can join/merge the playlists and still have one title (with many m2ts files).

OK. I'll try to import srt to mkv file. Thanks.

Other way for automatic name code subtitle track is :
Direct name the "srt file" like as :
video.fra.srt
"Video" is for the same name of your mkv video file
"Fra" is for language code used for naming and reconize by the player. (Fra for french language code is this sample).

But check the correct code, something two existing codes are avialable for on language but only one is supported by the player.
(sample for French language 2 codes exist "fre" and "fra" but only fra works correctly for european player products).

You see codes on this link (original source found on Multiavchd Forums - Hit and Tips section)

Edit :
After check the list, only one is aviable for "Portuguese" language code : por, you use the correct code.

If you have the original playlist(s) of these m2ts files you can join/merge the playlists and still have one title (with many m2ts files).

I have some more info on the problem. To try to determine if the problem is with tsDemux, I processed the 35 m2ts files with tsDemux and then passed its output to mkvmerge with the parameters suggested by tsDemux:

mkvmerge -o output.mkv --chapters C:\Temp\chapters.xml --timecodes 0:C:\Temp\20100314130406.track_4113.tmc C:\Temp\20100314130406.track_4113.264 --timecodes 0:C:\Temp\20100314130406.track_4352.tmc C:\Temp\20100314130406.track_4352.ac3

The resultant output.mkv is with the 35 files joined properly and it plays ok.

I loaded output.mkv into multiAVCHD and the chapters are where they should be. I created a Blu-ray structure and the chapter thumbnails are present.

However, the Blu-ray image play is jerky. Is that a framerate problem? The original .m2ts files are 29.97; output.mkv is 58.824 (original 29.97); and stream 00000.m2ts is 58.824.

Without using mkvmerge, can you import .264 in multiAVCHD, then add .ac3 as external audio and .xml as chapters? If needed, [alter detected properties] and set proper framerate.

You can retry the import in multiAVCHD, since it is possible that the 1st time only the preview was wrong, but the final mux could've been okay.

Something new, which probably will be available soon:

http://multiAVCHD.deanbg.com/multiAVCHD_sddvd-title.jpg

http://multiAVCHD.deanbg.com/multiAVCHD_sddvd-output.jpg

It allows similar to HD-DVD functionality - one title per disc, hard-burned subtitles (probably soft once I find a way how to). Now this should allow converting blu-ray playlists (branched or non-branched) to dvd. [SD-DVD] produces DVD output, compatible with standard DVD players.

Here is a log from a compilation I made few mins ago, importing Ghost Rider Blu-ray disc :)

I did as you suggested and retried the Join of the 35 files in multiAVCHD. The unaltered properties of the camdump file show a duration of ~ 01:11:44.000. I altered the duration to the proper duration of 1151 seconds, used the camdump.txt file for chapters, and reset the thumbnails.

The preview is still not correct. However, the resultant Blu-ray image is now correct.

Any idea why the proper duration is not detected? Is it because the .264 stream doesn't have fps data?

Yes, duration of elementary streams cannot be detected/calculated properly before they're muxed into a container.

Build 737:

* Full download required if you want to use (SD)DVD basic authoring. Link #1 (http://download.videohelp.com/deanbg/multiAVCHD_4.0.exe) / Link #2 (http://multiavchd.deanbg.com/download/)
* Added another output/authoring mode for standard DVD players (SD-DVD).

In SD-DVD output mode multiAVCHD will generate [DVD] folder with subfolders for each of the compilation titles, ready to burn to DVD5/DVD9 (VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders)

SD-DVD output mode supports:

* Original chapters
* 1 audio track (forcefully encoded to AC3)
* 1 external subtitle track
* 1 hard-burned subtitle track

Supported subtitles:

* Text based SRT, MicroDVD SUB and Blu-ray SUP subtitles for hard-burned DVD subtitles
* Text based SRT and Blu-ray SUP subtitles for soft DVD subtitles.

To use subtitles in this mode you need to have them as EXTERNAL tracks. Internal Blu-ray or file-embeded subtitles won't be used.

If there is any interest in this feature at all, I'll add more audio/subtitle tracks support.

***

Using SD-DVD output mode you can import virtually any format (files, Blu-ray structures, playlists, AVCHD playlists, DVD folders or IFO playlists) and output to standard DVD format.

Examples of using this mode:

* Camcoder users shoot a lot of HD material. Exporting to DVD is an easy way to share their videos with relatives and family, which don't own Blu-ray players, but have DVD players at home
* Back-up your Blu-ray Disc (movie-only) to a DVD and watch it in the other (non bdp equipped) room, or pass it to your children to watch in their room :)

Thanks Dean - looks like a great update. Sorry if this is a stupid question, when you say it supports virtually any SD file import, does this include xvid files? I get no preview and a warning that xvid transcode not supported?

Edit: with MPEG2 files I get Avisynth open failure. ConvertFPS: requires YUY2 input.

I'll need to check about MPEG2 but XviD works just fine here.

Thanks dean. Should I get a preview with xvid?

Yes... It has nothing to do with the DVD output. I have preview and transcode working for all media types/codecs. It depends on your configuration/decoders.

But I get this error:

What version/build did you use? A complete log will be easier to understand. You can send it to my email (it is in the about tab of multiAVCHD).

There is something wrong with your input folder/files... I don't know what you used to pre-process it but it seems that the important things are not there (at least not in 00001.mpls):
