Maybe a problem with the profile of the x264 video.
Try with only one episode, without menu.

Hi!

Perhaps I'm misunderstanding your problem but:

Is there any reason you can't simply load the audio, subtitles and video into tsMuxeR and save as .M2TS for use with multiAVCHD?

@Bomopu

In the last graphic you presented, it shows a slider at the bottom of the screen after "setting FAT compatible 8.3 file names". If you move the slider to the right, does it show any additional information regarding the attempt to set the 8.3 filenames (or anything else)?

@Music Fan

Your right, there is definitely something odd with the video!
MultiAVCHD output to one episode without menu, audio and subtitles plays fine but no video!?

@setarip_old

The reason I use this workflow is that original chapters gets lost when using .m2ts

Edit:
Found a workaround, using TsMuxer, selecting episode, audio and subtitle, output each episode to Blu-ray disk.
In MultiAVCHD "Add videofiles" and selecting episode playlist .mpls and all works perfectly!
Audio and subtitles in sync, original chapters!
Nicelooking menu! Case closed! :D

hello,

I am running Win7 64 bit and multiAVCHD and mostly using it to make AVCHD or BD from TV recordings in HD.
For all recordings made from free to air programs in 720p everything works fine.
If using a recording from a pay TV program (encyrpted) in 1080i, I can add the video file to multiAVCD but as soon I check the file to set chapters and so on, I get an error message "AVSInfo.exe" and the pop up screen shows no picture of the film.
http://www.diekuhls.de/AVSinfo_failed.JPG
and the pop up screen shows no picture of the film.
http://www.diekuhls.de/pop_up_screen_blank.JPG
If trying to produce a AVCHD or BD from that, the preparation fails when making the thumbnails or video sequences for the menue.

I have no idea and didnīt find any log file to find any further information about that problem.

Does anybody has an idea what this can come from?

Any help is welcome!

Hi,
from all the following statments it seems, no one has answerd your question. I have just switched from a Vista-system where multA was running perfectly well since years (yes, I also donated) to a new system with Win 8. I have exactly the same problem and have spend days so far but all in vain.
Did you find some solution and got the software running under Win 7?
Any reply would be much appreciated as I have worked with multiA a lot and want to continue.

Your situation I've learn it decades ago. The solution was however given 40 years ago by Murphy: Never change a working system.
So, my DAW still runs W98SE and my video PC runs XP.

I got this error. ERROR: Compilation does not contain any HD-DVD/AVCHD/Blu-ray. I found out it's the .ass subtitles that's causing the problem because it compiled fine without the subtitles. The solution from this thread http://multiforum.deanbg.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=850 is to disable Advanced processing of subtitles. However, my solution to get the compilation to work with subtitles is to ENABLE Advanced processing of subtitles. What a weird opposite solution when the problem is so similar. The compilation failed if I disable Advanced processing of subtitles.

Hi. I hope I can get6 a bit of help but I will admit in advance I did not read this whole thread.

I have installed the program and updated to the latest build.

After loading the 3 mkv files I wish to author to a single bluray, the program runs well until tsmuxer is called. It then crashes(TSMuxer) with the following message.

Matroska Parse Error: Invalid H264 NAL Unit Size. Nal unit truncated.

The program cannot proceed. I changed the order of the files and I get a similar message with each file.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

PS One of the files is already 1080P and bluray compliant yet I cannot get the program to not transcode it. How can I mark the file to be burned as is without re-encoding?

Thanks BK

You state that one of the files is 1080p, so I'm assuming the other 2 aren't? If that's true, then that's the problem.
Tsmuxer can't join files with mixed resolutions, framerate, etc.

OK Thanks. I'm not trying to join them though. I'm processing them separately, with each file having borders added so they are all 1920 X 1080 by transcoding.

Isn't that what the programme is for?

Beak

I tried the programme with a single file that was already bluray compliant.

It still transcoded the file and I got the same TsMuxer crash

Matroska Parse Error: Invalid H264 Nal Unit Size. Nal Unit Truncated.

So it doesn't seem to be from mixing files. Any help for this?

The file has to be BD compliant. (1920x1080;1280x720; etc... You can check it with Mediainfo. The reason multiAVCHD is transcoding is it detects a non BD compliant file or you don't have the file size set high enough in the Author tab, under General, so it is trying to make it fit.

The problem is that TSMuxer is crashing with the warning I wrote out.

That means the file is not Blu-ray compliant in some way, be it resolution or encoding parameters. :(

I'm sure you are right. But the files that are being muxed have been created by the programme itself.

Why would MultiAVCHD transcode something that then causes TSMuxer to crash consistently?

Sounds like something got corrupted.

Thank You. Something is definitely corrupted but the reinstall as you suggested also does not work and TSMuxer continues to crash.

But I have also found that uncropMKV and AVS2DVD are also crashing.

I have uninstalled all of these. I kept MeGui and have Avisynth 2.5.8 MT installed. I also removed Halli Splitter and FFDShow and reinstalled all.

MeGui is still working correctly but all others crash but not necessarily with TsMuxer as the culprit.

I may have to reinstall Windows. (sigh) or add a second OS.

I would really like to use this programme(MultiAVCHD) as it uses great software and offers great Menu features.

Thanks for all that tried to help. Ive got an old dual core XP machine in the back that I'll give a whirl first.

Thanks again.:thanks:

For what its worth, the problem seems to be gone now.

I backtracked on software I have installed in the last few months.

I recently configured MPC-HC and they recommended installing the LAV splitter.

I uninstalled this and rebooted. I then swept my registry and removed anything I did not recognize using Bitdefender's Tune-up option.

All working well now. I don't know why but there it is.I am absolutely loving this programme now!

Thanks to all who tried to help.

Thanks. This really is fantastic software. The menus look great and the convenience is incredible.

And if you want, you can still make compliant files with MeGui with as many avisynth filters as make you happy and still enjoy the benefits and savings of having multiple files on a single disc.

Thanks to all who helped and especially to Dean who did the work.:thanks:

what a great tool, congratulations !!!!

I want to use multiAVCHD to encode my (own) DVD with TV-series to BD (25GB).

There seems to be a problem with subtitles on my Windows 8 Pro x64 (8GB RAM) System. I receive an error:

-!!! Error converting subtitles (java?)

The newest JAVA is installed on my computer.

Does anybody have a clue?

I am trying to author 1080p60 m2ts files as AVCHD on DVD-R media.
Can some one please to confirm/clarify:
1. The two folders BDMV and AVCHDTN created by multiAVCHD need to be placed in DVD-R Root directory.
2. "AVCHD Strict" in two places of multiAVCHD need to be checked in order to create "AVCHD on DVD-R" playabale on most BD players.
3. The other methode I have seen is palcing BDMV and Certificate or only BDMV folder (with more than four folders inside) in the Root directory are not correct or will not play on some AVCHD rated BD players?

Guys,

I recently got the above error on my 4.1 Build 770 install. Been working fine and nothing I've installed of late that I can think of.

It does it when MultiBOOT.exe runs and then checks for a newer version. It then continues to give the error when amending a Project in anyway.

I ran MultiUpdate manually and this updated to 4.1 Build 771. Once the updtae finishes, it runs the software without error. HOWEVER, if I run via MultiBOOT.exe as normal, the error still happens and editing doesn't work. Yet, if I run via MultiUPDATE (no update needed now!) it works fine and I can amend my Projects?

Any ideas?

Steve.

Hardly the fastest way to start the program while it runs off and checks for updates, downloads and then installs? Besides, that's what Dean's program tells you to start it with!

Was looking for a Linda more helpful answer to the problem to be honest.

Griffith, I had that problem a couple of years ago. It was with a differrent build but I think it fixed itself just by uninstall/reinstalling mAVCHD.

but it may be that a newer build was released and that solved it. Can't be sure now.

I am authoring AVCHD on DVD-R media.
Can some one please confirm:
Two folders BDMV and AVCHDTN created by multiAVCHD need to be placed/burn in DVD-R Root directory.
"AVCHD Strict" needs to be checked in order to create DVD-R playable on most BD players.

I do not use "AVCHD Strict", but use Blu-ray for all my backups. No problems experienced.
Blu-ray has BDMV and CERTIFICATE folders only.
I believe AVCHD has only BDMV.
I have never kept the AVCHDTN folder or any other folders created by multiAVCHD.
I would suggest testing a few different cases with DVD+RW for compatibility.

Anyone know how to(or if it's even possible) have for example two titles untouched (no re-encode) and one to fit the rest of the disc?

I don't know. If no, you could maybe try with BDRebuilder : it can re-encode movies to fit a certain disc size, but I don't know if you can apply it to only one title and untouch others.
If yes, and if you need first to make authoring with MultiAVCHD, you can make this authoring without re-encoding and then re-encode one of the titles with BDRebuilder.
Otherwise, you will have to calculate the bitrate needed to fit the disc and encode it with before opening it in MultiAVCHD.

Check "burn with ImgBurn", MultiAVCHD will launch it at the end of the authoring process and you will see what folders are ready to be burnt.

"AVCHD Strict" needs to be checked in order to create DVD-R playable on most BD players.
I believe it was only useful for old Panasonic players which didn't support "out-of-mux" menus.

Hey guys, first time ever posting here so thanks for any help that may be given. I've read about the issues when trying to add audio with a static background for the menu page and how only BD and I believe AVCHD formats are capable of doing this in MultiAVCHD. My issue is I am creating a BD Disc format and I still can't get my audio to play on the main menu. I've used mp3 and ac3 audio formats to test. When I play the file from the BDMV folder on my computer the music plays, but when I burn to a blu ray disc and play in my PS3 or other Blu Ray player, the music doesn't play. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue and what solutions there may be. Thanks for any help, it is appreciated.

Does anyone know of a way to add chapters to the less-than-fully-compliant HD-DVDs that are created by MultiAVCHD?

Hey guys this is an awesome program and I would just like to raise a couple of questions about menus.

1) In the instructional thread there is a custom looking menu of Valkryie. I was wondering how, if I was able to make a background image like this, do I map the regions of the screen to buttons?

2) Is there any way to have the title menu be the top menu or first menu upon starting?

3) I would like to play a DTS/THX intro before both of my features. Is there any way to do this within MULTIAVCHD or would the files have to be re-encoded with the promos?

Thanks!

There seems to be a problem with subtitles on my Windows 8 Pro x64 (8GB RAM) as well as Win XP SP3 system. I get the following error:

-!!!subtitles may be incomplete!
-!!! Error converting subtitles (java?)

The newest JAVA is installed on my computer.

Does anybody have a clue?

Thanks a lot in advance for your help.
