I can but I will not... multiAVCHD usually takes 5 to 30 minutes to complete its job and while it's still under heavy development I'd rather have users watching what it is doing, instead of going for a beer or to bed ;)

Try to use VirtualCloneDrive (or something alike).. not Daemon tools for mounting the iso. Other users reported problems with DTools and the inability of PDVD to play such .iso files.

...

p.s. (edit) A small test that can prove me right or wrong is to use the same .iso that PDVD has problems with and burn it to DVD/BD (depending on the options you used in multiAVCHD), play it in some stand-alone-player (SAP) and compare the results.

I have no SAP as I am using an HTPC with an LG-Bluray/HD-DVD drive for watching my Hires movies.

Imho, a HTPC with PD7 (dis-)qualifies itself as an SAP as the PS3 does - it's a Von Neuman machine running software to play Blu-Ray movies. And I can watch all of my commercial BD w/o any issues.

I've explicitly mentioned PD7 as software, as it may issues others do not have. The test, if the multiAVCHD XMB-menu is still working after starting a movie (and jumping to the top-menu) can be easily exercised by anybody who has burnt a DVD/BD with multiple movies and chapters - I just want here results and point possible issues.

If someone with an SAP is willing to perform a test on the MPEG2/480i material, I can provide a 2min sample (57MB), just drop me a PN.

And regarding Daemon Tools/PD7 - I've read various messages in this forum referring to the problem, but none tracking it down. It's as easy if I wrote: if the disk is large enough (greater than a DL-DVD) it works, otherwise not. This was just a hint to other testers.

[QUOTE=deank;1274254]It is added.... and will work for MKV/MP4/MOV files.

So with this option now (in Audio / Subtitles) and with the other (HD audio to AC3) you can enable avchd-compliant audio mode.

MKV files with HD audio or with DTS audio will get their audio converted to LPCM or AC3 - formats which are a standard in AVCHD specs.]

Thanks Deank

You can't compare PS3 with any software player. PS3 BD/AVCHD player is almost as having sony bdp player aside.

I did more than 100 compilations and never had problems with menu or its visualisation (using DVD or USB).

Examine your log tab because sometimes there are errors which affect menu creation.

Maybe I've expressed myself not clear enough:
The menu works fine when I start the BD the first time.
But when switch to the menu from a running movie I can't navigate the menu any longer.
Nevertheless, here is the log (timestamps omitted to match the 16k limit). I can't spot any error

i've tested the MPLS import since the bugfix and now i confirm its ok with my first movie (king Arthur).

But there is two other problem.

1) With King Arthur movie :
I don't know why. With this movie the menu is not correctly generated (no XMB menu and no thumbnail although the options are checked and the log report there is 0 titles in the menu)
When i play it, i have the basic menu with no thumbnail, if i click ok, the movie start and play without problem
Here is the log :

2) The other problem affect my second movie : Changeling
The m2ts contains 3 video tracks (the movie+2 commentaries tracks). When importing the MPLS file, multiAVCHD seems to keep the 1st video track (commentary) when the good one is the third (movie).
When playing, i have only the commentary video track on screen. No movie.
Here is the specs of the m2ts :
http://img230.imageshack.us/img230/2333/changeling.jpg

Addentum :
i have noticed a little bug in the Menu tag -> Visual Settings -> Background. The value seems not be saved correctly. When a value is selected and the program is closed. The next time the program is launched, another value appears.

@navycrow:

I found a major bug which affected MPLS import and other things. It is fixed in build 526.

About the background - it is not a bug - I set it to randomly change on start.

Video track is also fixed now...

@schlaufer: There is a slider in Menu tab - Frames to encode. Try with higher values to see what works for you. And update your multiAVCHD.

Since the bugfixes in build 526.
My first movie is 100% perfect. Great work deank !

I'm actually trying to import the second movie (with the 3 video tracks). Feedback in a moment....

i have a question :
When i use an AVCHD movie alone created by TSMuxer or MKV2VOB. It's played by the PS3 according my language and subtitles preferences. In my case, FRENCH language and FRENCH subtitles (if necessary).
But when i use the multiAVCHD compilation. The PS3 play the first AUDIO track and the first SUBTITLES (if activated).
Is there a way to make multiAVCHD to respect the LANG et SUB prefs?

Is there a way to make multiAVCHD to respect the LANG et SUB prefs?

What happens if you uncheck the option [x] Force subtitle track #1 in Audio/Subtitles tab?

*****

Please post the multiAVCHD log of your second movie (with 3 video tracks) when you're done with it. Thanks.

The problem with DT and PowerDVD is that it emulates a CD-ROM disc for any ISO images < 1GB in size, a DVD-ROM for anything <= DVD9 size (4169920 sectors) and BD-R for anything bigger than that.

PowerDVD (and ArcSoft TotalMedia Theatre 3) will not play BD / AVCHD content from anything looking like a DVD-ROM.

Virtual CloneDrive has the advantage here in that it actually parses the image file (at least in the newer beta versions) and will mount an image (of any size) with a BDAV/BDMV folder in the root as a BD-R. That's why it works and DT doesn't.

Thanks!

I have a question about ImgBurn. multiAVCHD uses .ibb to call ImgBurn after a compilation is finished. Can I put something in it to prevent ImgBurn of altering the folders (such as CERTIFICATE, etc...)?

hey, i just made a compilation of a 7 videos and XMB menu.
everything went fine except the first video.
his menu page looks like a Thumbnail Menu page with that default background and a title stating "Multiavchd custom Menu"
if i press down or up i can see that all the other videos and their pages are fine, and also an arrow is visible in the middle of that Thumbnail Menu page and the video works if i click it.
however this brings me to the second problem...i used the "Change first SRT line timing" and what i got was
[14:59:30] First subtitle time changed to (00:00:01,295 --> 00:00:00.000) result in only the first line of text from that SRT visible through the entire video, however all the other subs are fine.
the only second error i could find was [15:04:13] Chapter mark out of boundaries (00:00:01)! Last mark set to 0!
all the rest of the log seems fine with no error.

I hope that all the info needed :)

@zoner: can you execute multiUPDATE and try with that faulty title again?

I fixed the SRT problem if end-time is also 00:00:00,000 but I'd like to know if the problem with the chapter and the menu page is fixed.

What happens if you uncheck the option [x] Force subtitle track #1 in Audio/Subtitles tab?

*****

Please post the multiAVCHD log of your second movie (with 3 video tracks) when you're done with it. Thanks.

If this option is unchecked, Audio is according my LANGUAGE prefs and SUBTITLES too. Perfect. It's like TSMuxer and MKV2VOB now, thx.

By the way, some movies like mine contains 2 FRENCH audio tracks. The first is normal, the second is FORCED. Is it possible to force to display the FORCED one in AVCHD mode automatically when FRENCH language is selected just like in Blu-ray mode ????

When you post your log, please use [ code ] [ / code ] tags, not the quote ones..

I don't think I can make what you're asking about the forced subs/audio.

Also - please update to 527.

Thanks!

I have a question about ImgBurn. multiAVCHD uses .ibb to call ImgBurn after a compilation is finished. Can I put something in it to prevent ImgBurn of altering the folders (such as CERTIFICATE, etc...)?

Dean

Hmm not really, no.

There are 2 settings for that but they're not part of the IBB stuff.

I assume you're really talking about having ImgBurn not prompt to a include the (existing) CERTIFICATE folder which has been left out on purpose (probably for compatibility reasons) and not to make an empty one either?

deank
16th April 2009, 17:33
The .ibb I pass to ImgBurn has:

[START_BACKUP_LIST]
new_path & BDMV\
new_path & CERTIFICATE\
[END_BACKUP_LIST]

or

[START_BACKUP_LIST]
new_path & BDMV\
[END_BACKUP_LIST]

and I'd expect to have only BDMV in the second case.

The reason I was asking about it is that CERTIFICATE folder has no place in AVCHD structures and may confuse many players, which otherwise would play the content. It is not like the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS for DVDs.

Different players have different logic on determining content and it is:

1) Some players will first check the media (DVD or BD-R) and act accordingly (DVD - AVCHD - no CERTIFICATE)
2) Other players will check folders first and if CERTIFICATE/AUXDATA are present will treat it as BD-R
3) other won't care at all and will ignore media and folders but will care only for BDMV/CLIPINF/PLAYLIST.

I can add another cli parameter to disable it prompting to add an existing one / adding an empty one automatically.

deank
16th April 2009, 17:57
:) Okay... I'd then switch to ImgBurn CLI, instead of .ibb... I just thought that it is better to use .ibb's.

LIGHTNING UK!
16th April 2009, 18:12
By passing the IBB file as a parameter, you're technically already using CLI! ImgBurn just translates that parameter (if it's the only one) internally to /SRC "parameter" and sets the mode accordingly (ibb = build, image files = write).

Now you'll have to use something like:

ImgBurn.exe /MODE BUILD /SRC "[ibb file name]" /CERTIFICATEFOLDER NO

Please note that '/CERTIFICATEFOLDER NO' will not prevent it from adding one to the disc if it is actually present in the Source box.

In build 527 (you may need to update manually with multiUPDATE.exe):

* Changed: Title font color is now 100% opaque (60% in previous builds)
* Changed: Title font outline is now 100% opaque (60% in previous builds)
* Added: tsMuxeR functionality check on load (for mpls file import only)
* Fixed: unnecessary parsing of missing CERTIFICATE to ImgBurn if "Strict AVCHD mode" is enabled for [AVCHD to DVD/BD-R]
* Major fix: Problems may arise if more than 10 audio or 10 subtitle tracks are present in output compilation or in input AVCHD folders
* Fixed: Problems with some menu pages when chapter-errors occur and bare "multiavchd custom menu" page is shown with navigation arrows
* Fixed: When loading mpls file with multiple VIDEO tracks - only primary video track (id 4113/0x1011) will be used

Hi Dean,

I have just done a full install of the latest multiAVCHD version and have run multiupdate afterwards and updated to build 527. I then updated tsmuxer within the "tools" folder to the latest version (1.9.9).

Still, I receive the following lines in the log window everytime when starting multiAVCHD:

[00:53:35] tsMuxeR not responding properly!
[00:53:35] MPLS file import will not work.

What's wrong here?

Thanks for your help,

Gero

It means that "cmd.exe /c tsmuxer.exe > tslogfile.txt" command is not working... It is used only when importing blu-ray playlists. Until roman makes tsmuxer to output a log file it will be that way.... you can also try to make a copy of cmd.exe to multiAVCHD folder to check if it will work.

Full downloads (and .exe only) for:

* multiAVCHD (build 528) (includes latest popBD and uncropMKV)
* popBD ver 0.6
* uncropMKV ver 0.6

are updated.

Check the links in the first page of each thread. multiAVCHD and popBD include tsMuxer 1.9.9.

***

Also in build 528 [x] Force subtitle track#1 won't affect audio streams anymore.

Should every player that plays without a menu also support with a menu?

deank
17th April 2009, 11:05
I think so. Exception may be players with profile 3, which are not bound to show menu:

Functions of BD-ROM Profile 3 Players
Required functions of the BD-ROM Players which complies with BD-ROM Profile 3 are the same as
for the BD-ROM Players which complies with BD-ROM Profile 1 and BD-ROM Profile 2, except that
• Only the following user operations are mandatory for the BD-ROM Players which complies with
BD-ROM Profile 3:
􀂅 Skip to Next Point() UO
􀂅 Skip Back to Previous Point()UO
􀂅 Play FirstPlay() UO
􀂅 Stop() UO
􀂅 Still Off() UO
• Output of video and graphics data is not available. However, decoding of the Interactive
Graphics stream still needs to be supported, so that that buttons which activate automatically
(without requiring the Activate Button user operation) will still activate automatically, and so that
any button related user operations that are supported by the BD-ROM Player are correctly
handled.
• BD-J is not applicable.
• Player function of Browsable slideshow is not applicable.
• Player function of Audio mixing model is not applicable.
• Player function of Binding Unit manifest file is not applicable.
• Player function of Local storage and Virtual File System is not applicable.

@deank:
I've tested multiAVCHD 527 yesterday evening (with tsMuxer 1.9.9). Unfortunately it did not solve my problem with the black 480i/MPEG2 title.
I've also moved the slider for encoded menu frames to the far right, and this actually made the problem with menu navigation worse. Now I can't navigate any longer after I first switched title in menu (i.e. move one title down).

@LightningUK:
Can you give me a hint where to find documentation about .MDS files? I am thinking of manipulating the virtual size of an image in order to force DT to emulate a BD - this would speed up testing a lot. A mount option for DT would be preferable, but I am always open to hacks, if they work.

Hello Dean,

1. I have updated the Language File to the latest changes.

http://rapidshare.com/files/222421468/multiLANG_deu.txt.html

2. However, there is a quite little and mostly insignificant bug in the "Abort compilation" routine which only terminates the currently running operation and not aborting the whole process. After trying to abort, subsequent batch processes continue until finished.

Please update again with multiUPDATE.exe and try with this 480i file. I did some changes and it should work.

Updated 19:07 CEST to Build 529, unfortunately it didn't solve the problem. :(
Thanks for trying, tough.

Update:
I've now tested the movie again on my HTPC which has a less powerful, but more recent GPU, and now the BD works like a charm. :D

Thanks a lot for the support.

I see there is now a way to import a .mpls from an original disc, and thus multiAVCHD can detect/retain original chapter marks, but is there any way, if I've re-encoded the original, to have it import the 264, ac3, subtitle, and --custom-chapter list I've created? is there an option to have multiAVCHD pause at the .meta file/tsMuxeR step so I can insert new chapters into the .meta file?

You can create a folder with your movie's files

movie.264
movie.ac3
movie.dts
movie.srt
movie.sup
movie.txt (with your custom chapters)

load movie.264 (with settings to add external audio-tracks) and you will get what you need.

Wow deank, now that you have an almost perfect software to boot...should you consider getting to improve on the visual aspects of this great authoring tool? :P Say animated menu and better flavours in menu positioning? And you still remember my wishlist?

deank

It's 'almost perfect' since day one... but simply put - it is not at all what I want it to be :)

Menu manipulation and templates are a tough thing to do. What was your wish list?

***

I'm also trying to implement UMD movie (playlist.umd playlist) import (UMD video discs for PSP). CLPI files look a bit different in UMD's CLIPINF folder and STREAM folder contains MPS files (MPEG-PS) instead of M2TS (MPEG-TS) but it works. Still the problem is the audio in MPS. If anyone has any info on audio extraction (ATRACplus) from MPS - let me know. It is a nice way to backup (and play in your PS3 or BD player) these 720x480i videos.

Recap on wishlist...

Actually its not that hard to implement since the hardest part is over...hehehe...
I looking for a way to play only CERTAIN TITLES at start-up (Autoplay) and after which resume to the menu page.

For instance, I got the following clips in order...

Title 1 (Movie trailer 1)
Title 2 (Movie trailer 2)
Title 3 (Movie trailer 3)
Title 4 (Movie clip)
Title 5 (Movie clip)
.
.
Title 18 (Movie clip)

If possible, I will like to have Title 1 -3 autoplay upon disc insertion. Then after playback of the 3 titles, it will resume to Menu mode so that I can choose to play which movie clips (i.e. menu 4 - 18) in order of my preference. I believed its not hard? Like I said this is just a value-added feature for me if you have the time to do it. Its not a pressing one so I leave it to you to consider when you have the bandwidth to spare.

Take a look again. It was there for some months now. Just above the complete version log...

If adding FILES (mkv/264/mts/m2ts/mov/mpeg/mpg/ts), multiAVCHD will search for additional media (subtitles/audio/etc).

Example: your input (movie file) is called Test_movie.mkv

multiAVCHD can add corresponding:

Subtitles with LANGUAGE_CODE_ID (LID):...

Try to use NORMAL filenames without commas and a bit shorter. Also you can use [x] Change first SRT line timing option in Audio / Subtitles tab. Also if you can extract these SSA and send me a sample to look at?

1st - delete your log in the post because it seems the content is downloaded and - 2nd - try to use NORMAL filenames without commas and a bit shorter. Also you can use [x] Change first SRT line timing option in Audio / Subtitles tab. Also if you can extract these SSA and send me a sample to look at?

Hi Dean,

Thanks for the quick reply. I've tried your suggestion but it's not still working. Anyway I have another anime with two ASS subs and it's working fine..Dopn't know why this one is giving me trouble.

I've attached the subs files here. I change the extension to txt because of attachment limitation.

Did you try [x] Change SRT... option?

You can send the file to my email address. It is in the ABOUT tab of multiAVCHD. It is possible that this specific SSA file has a problem that multiAVCHD cannot translate properly to SRT.

You can use the SSA with SubtitleWorkshop and fix it and save it as SubRip (srt) and then use it as external - it will probably work. But still I'd like to take a look at this problematic ssa file.

Hi deank,
multiAVCHD is a great Tool!
I have a question about the move option. If the temp Folder and the target the same, the m2ts Files will not Move. multiAVCHD copy the m2ts Files.
If you add an old AVCHD Folder created with mulltAVCHD, then the m2ts will move.
Can you please, add option to move m2ts files, from an existing BDMV or AVCHD Folder. Thats created with tsmuxer?
These save a lot of time on an USB Drive.

I removed this MOVE option a long time ago, because some people got their ORIGINAL (and only copy) moved into multiAVCHD and it caused them troubles.

multiAVCHD moves only its own compilations. I can add another MOVE option, as many people asked about it.

Take a look again. It was there for some months now. Just above the complete version log...Hmmm, I guess you're right--I was supposed to know that "/etc" means "and custom chapters.txt"!

These save a lot of time on an USB Drive.

You'll find the option in SETTINGS in build 530. Done.

Option is (x) all - it will make ANY input files to be moved.
