It works in Playstation 3 (USB and burnt to DVD) and in Sony BDP-S350 player (reported by xeniste).

@fsnavi:

Please try with [x] Fade transitions checked and unchecked.

Check if you have correct path for your background image in Authoring.

Also - take a look in your output folder - 01401.m2ts and 01403.m2ts.

If you can play them and see the menu then you have avisynth and x264 working.

You may also download LITE version again. I believe your SAP is PAL, so...

I've read some reports that Samsung players will do strange things if some folders are present. For example:

CERTIFICATE
BDMV\AUXDATA
BDMV\BDJO
BDMV\JAR
BDMV\META

As multiAVCHD creates AVCHD disk you may try removing these folders from output folder before burning the disk.

01401.m2ts plays my background with titles shown,no arrows
01402.m2ts plays my background w.o. titles
01403.m2ts plays a very short black picture
01404.m2ts plays a very short black picture

If that is correct, I will check the other points.

No. 1403 and 1404 should show the same as 1401 and 1402.

The navigational stream and everything else is in 1403 and 1404.

What is the filesize of these two? And what player do you try to play them with?

And you can't have arrows by simply playing .m2ts files. They need to be played by your player to see the IGS.

I also hope that you're using x264 provided with multiAVCHD -(x264 core:65 r1074M b6bb3d4) not a different build.
And.. avisynth 2.58. (build 22-12-2008)

You can check your AviSynth version by going to

THANKS! and CONGRATULATIONS!

Now my SAP Samsung BD 1400 works with custom menu.

I checked version.avs of my avisynth 2.5: it is the correct version 2.58!

Do I have to use your background file 'multiBG.jpg' or can I use my own as well?

In build 315 it should work with your own background.

I'm doing some other changes, because if the custom background image is TOO COMPLEX it can't fit in these 516KB and that's why you had the problem.

I'm recomiping it again so I guess it should work with images of any complexity.

Dean.

Build 315 - Custom Menu

Sony 550: Two initial screens appear normally. No dark screen. Titles are playable from the second screen. Pressing "play" on the remote brings "prohibited operation" notification.
Pressing "select" causes the titles to play normally.

Panny BD35: Two initial screens appear normal but selecting either of the two titles brings the player to a "stop". This was to be expected. As previously mentioned, this player will not play muxed VC-1's. It WILL play muxed H.264's

Then use SELECT, not PLAY. Probably Play is expected to show popup menu or something else.

And AVCHD does not include VC-1, so it won't play if the player follows the standard (playstation3 plays it without problem with TrueHD).

There are reports on some players which refuse to play optical media with AVCHD structure if BD structure is also present.

I'll add an option in multiAVCHD to select if "create multiBD" output should not contain non-AVCHD folders, i.e.

CERTIFICATE\*
BDMV\AUXDATA
BDMV\BDJO
BDMV\JAR
BDMV\META
BDMV\BACKUP\BDJO

It seems that some SAP FW programmers decide to rely on their existence and if such folders are found, disc is treated as BD, not AVCHD, so missing files in these folders make some players just stop.

I will also try to make multiAVCHD process AVCHD folders with multiple multi-title-playlists correctly and making output compatible with Panasonic TVs with SD cards input, capable of playing AVCHD.

deank, I have a few questions about multiAVCHD. I'm thinking about bakcing up some movie trilogies to a single BD-R, I'd like to keep the HD audio too. I'd also like to mix and match movies too.

1. Can the movies on one disc have different audio codecs, i.e. One with LPCM and two with TrueHD?

2. If all three need subs are they displayed as three individual movies, or is movie #2 a continuation of movie#1 (and same for movie#3) in regards to runtime. Will srt time stamps need to be adjusted for movie#2 and #3, or can the original .sup file be used?

The way I hope to do this is have each movie be it's own m2ts with their own codecs, then load individually, will your app keep the three movies separated when final muxing takes place?

Thanks,

multiAVCHD will keep these 3 input files as 3 separate titles and won't glue them together. It won't touch the original audio streams if you have [-] Use eac3to when needed and the other two [-] TrueHD... to AC3/LPCM unchecked. But tsMuxer will not process trueHD correctly. If your m2tss have LPCM audio - output will be okay.

AVCHD does support VC-1 as well as MPEG 2. They work in both my two BD players.

VC-1 is not part of AVCHD standard. Some players work with VC in AVCHD - others don't.

Please update your build. It will remove this garbage. It is my fault.

You should never have seen this background. Check your log for RED lines around the point multiAVCHD creates custom menu.

Something may be wrong with your background file.

It is possible that avisynth does not process the script for creating custom menu page if filenames contain some strange symbols. I tried to remove all " ' / \ % * ? and many other characters that may confuse avisynth, but be sure your files have normal filenames.

suffice to say that my CUSTOM menu works!!!
I'm using my own CUSTOM background, and the picture is shown perfectly.
I'm using the AVCHD folder on HDD, connected to USB Port of my PS3.
Arrow shown, Custom Titles (I tried up to 5) works.
Selecting "DOWN" button on PS3 on the Arrow, after title no. 5, it shows arrow going down to no. 6 (no title there) but fine for me. The Arrow keeps going down and down, but again, fine for me.
I'm using 312, and haven't update it yet.

Excellent... just what I wanted to hear. As long as tsMuxeR muxes the TrueHD and creates the BD structure, I can take that particular m2ts file and remux using tsremux and then replace the new (tsremux) m2ts with the bogus (tsMuxeR) m2ts... sorta like a swap. It will play the TrueHD file fine on a single disc... at least my PS3 does, not sure about other stand alones.

Also, is movie #1 00000.m2ts, #2 00001.m2ts, and so on?

I stepped over a small problem with titles when selecting custom menu:

Adding files to a new creation, the shown titles are the names of the added files.

Adding folders to a new creation, the shown titles are the names of those folders, which contain the BDMV folder.

Unfortunately, a lot of programs - including the SW to move my camcorder videos from the SD card to HD - create (and request) a different, more complex structure, like:
'name of the creation\Private\AVCHDL\BDMV'. Selecting such a folder to be added, its title will always be AVCHDL. Changing the name of the AVCHDL-folder makes this folder unaccessable for other programs.

FSNAVI

In the next few weeks I will make possible to edit title names in media tab before processing.

So if you add 5 AVCHDL folders you will be able to change their DISPLAY names to be used in the menu.

Now I have time to continue and will add this option.

Hi Dean,

build 319 works now great on both Samsung BD-R1500 and PS-3. Only difference is, that Samsung doesn't show the title page - 01400.m2ts , but straight menu page - 01401.m2ts (not a big problem at all). On both SAP's are working both cursor and direct title selections.

There is another glitch noted on Samsung, because the aspect ratio of the clpi (of the corrected NC title) is wrong, Samsung seems to use it and shows title with the wrong aspect ratio.

p.e. MediaInfo of mkv file:
Width : 1 280 pixels
Height : 528 pixels
Display aspect ratio : 2.424

BDedit info of generated clpi: 720p, 23.976, 4:3

Is there any chance to set the correct aspect ratio with multiAVCHD in title's clpi file?

deank
5th February 2009, 19:22
Probably your Samsung recognizes your disk as one already played and skips "First playback" title.

I read about the aspect ratio solution in another thread (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=144064). Well, 2.4xxx is not supported but 16:9 should make the clip show properly.

I'll try to add this in next build.

deank
5th February 2009, 19:58
I just check my code... and this is already implemented for CLPI files. Are you sure you have [x] Apply compliant height for NC MKVs (PS3) in Autoring tab?

Also a small error in my code prevented updating playlist files if only one title is in the current playlist.

Can you update to 322 and try again?

Build 322 will set playlist and clip information to

16:9 if input AR is greater than 1.7(7) and
4:3 if input AR is smaller than 1.7(7).

16:9 and 4:3 are the only options available in AVCHD and BluRay specs. Simply put - there is no other value to put for different aspect ratios.

In the latest (322) build I tried to correct this so please try and report back.

There is no way to make changes in playlist or clipinfo files and see aspect ratio different than 4:3 or 16:9.

Good and bad news.

Build 322 now correctly set 16/9 AR in clpi files. But it doesn't help my SAP to show correct AR. It shows the same AR as with 4:3 !

It seems, there is/are another settings, which decide about SAP's AR.

Fortunately there is a workaround in my SAP, I have to use "16/9 WIDE" option, and the image is stretched to the whole width of the screen.

deank
5th February 2009, 21:55
You have one option :)

Buy yourself a PS3. It handles everything and it costs much less now.

There is no way to get anamorphic AR for NC input videos (be it MKV or MPEG/TS) playing in AVCHD/BD compatible player (except PS3).

As I stated earlier, all ARs not matching 16:9 (square pixel), 4:3 (square pixel) or 4:3 (1 / 0.75 anamorphic) are not supported in AVCHD and BD.

It seems there is a problem with your avisynth/x264:

[01:00:14] Encoding menu pages (x264)...
[01:00:20] Authoring custom menu completed.

I have a fast machine and encoding menu takes about 15-30 seconds. In your case, multiAVCHD goes too fast and performs no encoding.

Tested it using custom menu on a Pioneer 51fd player. After the intro screen you see the custom menu with the proper filenames.

After a second or so that screen goes away and you see only a "Custom menu xxxxxxxxxx" line. With a selection-arrow though. Which can go down as many times as there are movies on the disc. So while unable to read the filenames it is possible to select the "correct" one.

While playing a movie if you press Menu again you initially see the custom menu screen with all the proper names and boom, gone it is again. Odd!

Update on version 2.2 (build 325):

No more FULL / LITE downloads.
No more PAL / NTSC downloads.
No more 2D animated top menu.

Build 325 is just 10MB self-extractable 7zip archive.
