Hi DeanK,

One problem more : trying to build a disk from h.264/mpeg (sound) files, as I do from time to time, I got this : ac3to refuded to convert audio! And the audio track is - and was in the past - mpeg Audio Version 1 layer 2 file.
eac3to is the latest one, avisynth as well - 2.5.

Any ideas ?

Thanx in advance!

Yes.. it requires directshow filter for audio processing to WAV format, which doesn't work in mac I guess.

Iīll test with external audio file ... so far this is not very important for me.
Main thing for me: support of mpeg2 HDV ... and that is perfect.

Edit: made a ac3 sound file from AppleTv file (very fast) and named it after the AppleTV file. Using option "add external audio tracks" in multiAVCHD I get my working AVCHD structures.

It is not working, but it worked before - is that what you're saying? What is your file's extension - mkv/mpeg/mov/mp4?

That's exactly I want to say. The file extension is as usually - .ts. It's a satellite receiver h.264 file with the mpeg sound, converted to .ts format with the usually used h.264 cutter.

Can you check agian? And can you send me again a sample of your HDV3 mov files?

There is a file multiAVCHD.pid - if present - multiAVCHD thinks that another instance is running.

I did a lot of changes today - probably I broke something.

pid file should be deleted once the program closes, doesn't it?

Right... ini get's reset if you do multiple launches. I do not advice you to do so.... I fixed it just now.

Is this pid problem also under windows or just a problem of virtual machines?

It gets deleted on my windows vista. And no one complained so I guess it works in win. At least the .ini will not reset anymore.

Hi Dean
I tried this app last night for the first time and after a few false starts due to me, it seemed to work, but I haven't tried to play the output on the PS3 yet because I tried to just playback the output MTS files on my computer and one set would only play the audio and not the video. The original M2TS plays fine. The other set I processed did play audio and video from the processed output folder. Anything come to mind that would cause one to play video and another not to?

PS, the one that did not play video, only audio, was an m2ts file. The files that did play fine were already in an AVCHD folder structure.

Autoupdate is not a probem here. I also did a complete download then I configured multiAVCHD from scratch. Still the problem with this .pif file. As long as it doesnīt resets my ini anymore I can live with it ....

The german translation .... Iīll test.

In "Title names editor", what's "Poster image" for? And thumbnail number?

Take a minute to read the guide - the link is in my signature. Poster image is not implemented yet - it will be used in XMB menu for each title, instead of generating AUTO background (if thumbnail (seconds) is <>0). Thumbnail (seconds) (not number) is used for entering a second at which to extract thumbnail for XMB menu. You can hover your mouse - there are a lot of hints in the GUI.

I haven't tried to play the output on the PS3 yet because I tried to just playback the output MTS files on my computer

PS, the one that did not play video, only audio, was an m2ts file. The files that did play fine were already in an AVCHD folder structure.

multiAVCHD output is supposed to be used in a stand-alone-player, not on the computer and in FOLDER mode, not playing individual files. Also be sure to read the complete guide.

Autoupdate is not a probem here. I also did a complete download then I configured

I asked for manual update, because sometimes I do changes to multiAVCHD, but not to the build number, so autoupdate will not update your .exe, but multiUPDATE will.

After read HDMI is activated.
Recognised as "BD-Video".
Videostream recognised as MPEG-4AVC. No Audio.

PowerDVD 7.3 does the same with BD-RE as it did above with AVCHD disc, calls the video MPEG-2, plays forever.
A secondary Video is mentioned, called Video 1.
PDVD is stuck then and has to be aborted using TaskManager.

Maybe its only a small step away...
Media Info shows 2 video streams,
video 1: ID4113 AVC 1920x1080x23.976
video 2: ID6912 AVC 1920x800x23.976
MediaPlayerClassic 6.4.9.1+ffdshow sees two video angles and can select and play these:
PID 4113 as solid FullBlack, filling my 1920x1200 screen, but I cannot see the 1080 height because it's black on black.
PID 6912 as solid kind of oxblood red, but looking like 1080high? should be looking like 800...

deank
7th April 2009, 16:26
Ok, now... I never thought I'll do that but in 507 multiAVCHD has a quad backup plan :) on NC audio tracks with MKV/MP4 files. It will try these 4 in the following order:

1) mplayer with avisynth -> eac3to
2) mplayer alone (with dumpaudio) -> eac3to
3) eac3to alone
4) ffmpeg alone

All these are run against your audio tracks to make sure they will be converted to AC3.

If all fail you should find a way to convert your audio on your own. :)

Btw. .... ffmpeg as No 2 in cascade did the job: it converted an AppleTV audio part to ac3 while before ac3to wasnīt able to.

But PS3 does not play this 720p file ... I think PS34 has a generous problem with authored structures containing 720p material.

deank

Ok I tested your structure ... it works ... perhaps it is because you did not use a menu. When I build an AVCHD structure I implemented a menu, then PS3 couldnīt turn from 1080p24 (menu) to 720p (film).

BD/DVD Cinema Conversion

BD 1080p 24 Hz Output (HDMI)

I'll try with a menu.

Well it plays but PS3 does weird things... 200-300ms video at start and then it goes crazy switching video modes and my AV receiver also goes crazy.

But I think it is not the menu that causes the problem. Can you author AVCHD without a menu (as I did) and try?

I'll test with a menu a bit later and will post a link with the output.

Yes, with menu it goes wild - I just tested... But playing directly the mts file from XMB works. That's weird - really really weird.

It may be the AVCHD format problem. I can't test with Blu-ray disk (BD-R/BD-RE) to check if it will produce the same result.

Congrats for over 500 builds. Amazing work.

I wonder if this would be possible. After clicking on the avhd/bdmv folder button, would it be possible to use shift to select multiple bdmv folders that are in the same folder. It would save having to do press the button and go to the parent folder each time.

deank

The program tool I'm using doesn't allow multiple folder selection (not that I know of any FOLDER BROWSE box that allows it).

You can put all desired folders in one folder (if you don't need to edit their contents). This worked for the last 50-100 builds ;) and thanks for the testing and support.

The other day I was thinking of my own implementation of add-files/add-folders win-controls and may be I will do it in next (3.0) version.

Yes, it is not bitrate problem. There is something else and I've never seen such behavior as with your sample+menu.

I'll test tomorrow with the same sample.

After all, multiAVCHD was not supposed to be a coversion tool :)
