For chapters, you should use MKV container instead of TS.
And for subtitles, if your file is in srt, try to convert it in sup (for Blu-ray, not sup for dvd) with a subtitle tool, there are many. Then put it in you mkv with MKVmerge or open it in multiAVCHD. As multiAVCHD supports subtitles, I guess at least one of these methods should work.

The thing about converting BD to mkv and then making a BD for multiple movies with multiAVCHD out of it is that mkv and avchd have different results when imported to multiAVCHD, that's why I'm encoding to AVCHD with ripbot264 to calculate the right size for the encode so that both files (when creating BD25 with two movies) fit on BD25. For example a 10GB AVCHD is 10GB when imported into multiAVCHD while a 10GB mkv is much bigger (why?).

I know, it's because TS container is bigger than MKV, but it's not a problem.
If you wanna keep chapters, try to open it in multiAVCHD or put it before in MKV.

Is there any calculation how much bigger the TS container is compared to the same movie in a mkv?

@QUEENFAN
It's quite important
In TS the stream is divided in blocs of 188 Bytes. In this there is 4 Bytes for signalisation. It's a little bit more than 2% of the bitrate.
In Mkv, I don't really know but it's not divided in so small packets and it's much more better.
Another difference is metadata. Sometime you have metadata in one file, you remux in another file format but loose some metadata, because not admitted in this format...
Hope it helps

M2TS isn't just the 192 byte packet and its headers. You have an elementary stream that is packetized into a PES (Packetized Elementary Stream) and that is then inserted into the 192 byte packets (see ISO/IEC 13818-1). There is also some other overhead (like PAT/PMT packets, reference clocks, etc). You'll find that the overhead varies according to what type of elementary stream is packetized. Most streams I've tested have a total overhead of a little less than 15%, but others (for example True-HD) can be significantly higher. Bitrates can also make a difference too. I assume it's because of the packet boundaries involved. For instance 224Kbs AC3 doesn't take any more space than 192Kbs AC3.
It's pretty easy to compare the difference. Select a source and use MKVMERGE to create an MKV container, then use TSMUXER to create an M2TS of the same source. You'll find that generally MKV is more efficient -- but, the broadcast industry has chosen M2TS (and TS) as it's standard, so that pretty much trumps most arguments.
With that said, there are folks on this forum who can go into significantly more detail of the container formats than I can, and I'd defer to them.

Thanks for your quick reply. I encoded a BR with ripbot264 to AVCHD (with subtitles and chapters and one audio track because ripbot can't use two). When I remux the .ts file I loose the chapters and subtiltles I can't see anyway in multiAVCHD and if (I had this when encoding DVDs to BD with multiAVCHD) I have subtitles multiAVCHD deletes them. Until now I haven't got any clue how to keep subtiltes in multiAVCHD (Win 8 Pro x64).
You can use the add external subtitles in multiAVCHD. If needed, you can convert subtitles with the two subtitle programs that come with and are in the multiAVCHD folder.
You can also add chapters with multiAVCHD, just need to use the same chapter format tsMuxeR uses.

Playlists with different in/out times for a clip will be overwritten.
The will occur in any playlist regardless of whether or not it has been edited.
Most blu-ray disks contain these type of playlists.
CLPI file will also have its in/out time incorrectly edited.
Here is an example displayed in bdedit.

"Deank", Thank you VERY Much for your powerful software. I had some files that no other application could handle fully. Yours did it with few errors. And the errors that did occur, I believe to be user error. In other words, I didn't choose a setting, so it defaulted on the fly. Pretty complex software, but once you get the hang of it, it's very useful! I hope to donate to your cause as soon as I can ;) You saved my bacon!
22 episodes of anime on one blu-ray disc. VERY Impressed(X264 is wonderful). Longest process on my x6 core I've seen yet! 15hrs.

MultiAVCHD was thought to be an authoring tool. Any other activity like editing videos, changing sizes, fps, interlacing state, conversion, shouldn't be part of MultiAVCHD. Some of them are now integrated, which questions its bit-perfect status (and for this reason alone I did not upgrade). Personally I don't like the "microsoft officialisation" of multiAVCHD. Those looking for a dumb-grade one-button suite should use what google offers.

I try many times... 1080i HDTV multiAVCHD can do 1080p but....on my computer looks ok , but if i see this work for example on LG BD 370 , or BD Sony ...its not 1080p like another 1080p.
Its firs time when my work from multiAVCHD looks not good.
Its work with 1080i HDTV.
I try for couple computers and i said: multiAVCHD dont do deinterlace. Or dont do this good.
Like said my frieds : "Did you see button in [spam] :"Do deinterlace" - Yes. Did you see this button in multiAVCHD? Thank you for attention."

If someone knows like from 1080i HDTV do 1080p with no interlace on multiAVCHD just write here.

I was able to remove the AVCHD label by replacing the "C:\multiAVCHD\templates\res\Carousel\CM_back.png" file. I just created a 1920x1080 black image using photoshop, and that worked just fine.

How to use xml chapter files? I wonder because I extracted one from one version of a movie in mkv format. I would like to use it to author a blu ray with chapter names (without typing chapter names manually).

I don't know if multiAVCHD support xml files for chapters but you could maybe try to open directly the chaptered mkv and see if multiAVCHD detects these chapters : you can see it in the window on the right, chapters' names and timecodes appears.
If it does not work, I found another way to do what you wanna do : extract chapters with MKVExtract in ogm format, not xml, change the extension to .chp, open your MKV not chaptered and not subtitled in Hybrid (create first a new MKV with MKVmerge to untick chapters and subtitles, just keep video and audio), choose passthrough for video and audio in Hybrid, go in the chapter tab, load the chp file and save in MKV (you need a temp folder having the same size of the file because Hybrid extracts elementary streams before to remux).
It's supposed to work also with xml but after creating mkv, timecodes are changed, thus prefer ogm.
If you have also subtitles in PGS in your MKV, extract them and load them separately in multiAVCHD (properties of the file, external subtitle, load it, click on it, choose language and click on change to confirm) because it has problems to handle correclty pgs when included in MKV.
But I believe it works when pgs are in ts or m2ts, but if I remember well ts and m2ts don't support chapters, so if you have chapters and pgs subtitles, do as I explained.
Here is Hybrid ;
http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=153035
edit : you can also try to import chapters in MKVMerge (global, chapters), the mux will be faster than Hybrid but I don't know if multiAVCHD will recognize these chapters (try ogm with txt extension or xml).

Hi ! I do not post often because I usually found my answers easily in the forum. But this time, I am stuck ! I have a BD structure which works flawlessly and I want to add 4 m2ts files from another BD, keeping audio intact.
My problem is, once added as Media, I can not achieve a playable blu-ray because audio from one m2ts file does not play right, emitting continuous whistle. I've tried to unchecked "Use eac3to" to no avail. What should I do better ? Thanks for any clue.

I have problems authoring blu rays from mkv files with mpeg2 video and dts audio. Basically ts muxer informs of an error and then no video strim exists in authored blu ray. I think tsmuxer might have problesm with mpeg2 in mkv. What's the best way to avoid those problems (without reencoding video to h264 avc)?

Hi guys. Trying to make a backup, and I have 2 m2ts files. I want them to be one AVCHD movie on a PS3 USB Drive. What I did was add both to the video files, and hit start, but when it reaches the end of the first video, the PS3 must "start" the second file and there is a skip in the video and sound, and the "play" button on the screen illuminates like you just started a video. Is there anyway to get this play as one consecutive movie as if it were just one M2TS file instead of 2 ?

I don't remember if multiAVCHD can merge files thus in doubt, do it before with TSMuxer (add for first, join for second). But sound and video of the first file have to have exactly the same length, otherwise you risk synchronization problem on the second part.
And of course, both files need exactly the same specifications (codec, resolution, sound ...).

You could also try, with multiAVCHD, to load the two files via the "Add Video Files" tab, then select the first title under the "media" / "Compilation" tab, then select After Playback go to next title.
There could be a slight pause before the start of the second title, but if this is acceptable, you may be able to have consecutive playback of two or more titles that may or may not have identical properties. :)

In this case, I believe you also have to select "add chapter at title end" because otherwise, and if I remember well, you can't go to next title (unless you add pop-menu which allows to go to next title).

I just ran a test with two H264 1080i titles, and did not have "add chapter at title end" selected and it worked perfectly. No menu, just starts with the first title, and at the end of the first the second title starts.

Yes, but I meant that it's useful when you wanna go to the next title by clicking next (chapter) with the player's remote when you wanna go to the second title before the end of the first.
If you don't check "add chapter at title end", I believe nothing will happen if you click on next if you are in the last chapter of the first title (or if there is no chapter in this first title, which means that the first chapter is also the last, going from title's debut to its end).

No pop up, just the first title ends and the second title starts. There is a slight pause before the start of the second title, but that should be expected if you choose this method.

weird how multiAVCHD can chunk all the files into 4GB blocks, and play them seamlessly, but can't transition from each source without a hiccup ? That makes no sense and should be easily accomplished, but I just can't figure it out.

It is impossible, unless the sources have streams that have EXACTLY the same duration.

I read up on that and there are video/audio synch problems with that method. I stumbled upon another method involving tsMuxeR and eac3to, which I was preparing to use, until I thought of using the playlist method. The silly thing is that you can't pick the playlist you want: You have to choose "longest" or "top 3 longest". So I chose the top 3, since it wasnt the longest, then I manually removed the other 2, and then processed it this way. I tested it last night and seamless transition as if it was a single file.
If that hadn't worked, I would have tried joining.

I don't know but sometimes, the simple fact to re-start multiAVCHD helps (I often have crashes when I start export and when I make it again there's no problem ).
That's why it's important to save the project before to start the export, you just have to open the project after re-start.
