I am also getting the same thumbnail error with 399. It still works when loading the exe directly.
Exactly here on mac/crossover. When I play it on ps3 I get my desired menu ... except of those thumbs: they are just filled black.

I still don't understand... If you mean 14 titles with their names with 14 thumbnails - simply there is not enough space on screen to fit all.
I mean, 14 titles and ONE thumbnail that changes according to which file is chosen in the menu by the remote. If I am not still clear I will make an example image next time :)

Ok,
Finally i got it to work!!! no more fWrite errors anywhere :)
the problem was that the whole mutliAVCHD had to be under the C:\ drive that crossover created and not under my OSX regular directory (go figure..)
so now all works except for thumbnails,
just like nwg/kenguru i get the "error creating thumbnail..." and black thumbnails when played on PS3.
BTW: the thumbnail picture does get created and saved in the same place as the source files.
Thanks!!

I think thumbnail creation should now work fine in 403.
@coolalibaba: There is also LINE: at which error occurs. You can delete your .ini file and try again. You have updated your DAT file, didn't you?
@asherungar: I'm glad you found the problem with your x-over. And about thumbnails - they ALWAYS get created :) it's just that mplayer puts them in different places all the time. I think I found a workaround and now it works fine.
@vpapanik: No, it is not possible. Not with 300KB free program.
edit: Drag/Drop functionality is removed. I get a lot of emails about problems with cDragDrop error on some windows systems, so until I figure out what the problem is, dragging/dropping files/folders to multiAVCHD window will not work.

This error is because he has the old DAT file. He needs to update it with 2.4.390. This error is fixed in 404. Those who get the error need to execute multiUPDATE.exe.

Can you update to the latest build, then use CUT-END and put 120 seconds in tsMuxer tab and do another test?
It will process your file in less than a minute and you can test if it works. There was a small bug with TEMP folder name if it doesn't exist.

Yes. In build 405 you can do this. You can enter a value in seconds when editing title names (either in Title editor or in Media tab/edit).
If value of "0" is used, multiAVCHD will use the middle of the clip to generate thumbnail. If other value is used - thumbnail will be extracted at the second you chose as value. I suggest you to set custom seconds once you're done with adding titles and rearranging them, but not before.
Also.. another fix for thumbnail generation.... mplayer makes me go crazy. I hope it works okay.

I meant your player, not TV set. What player do you use? You said PS3 - so my comment was about it as a "console".
Build 406:
At the end of the compilation you will see a total:
Your compilation contains 3hrs 4min 29sec video material.

If you think the same way, I could help by translating it to Brazilian Portuguese.

@jdeiro: I'm afraid it is not possible. And even if it was - it would have required massive amounts :) of time that I can't spare.
You can post in your forum about the problem vadelagu has with Drag/Drop error. It should be gone in latest builds.

Quick question, does the latest version allow you to add titles or do you always have to start from the beginning and copy all titles you want included? Had a look at the description, but doesn't seem obvious.
If this is not a feature it'd be great to add a 'save/open project' function so one can open an existing layout and only add new titles. Also, it would be extremely useful to have an undo function to seperate all titles again. Reason being, so i can just keep one copy of these massive files. I know i could just save the log and do it manually when required, but it would be nice to have.
Regardless, the progress on this is amazing - well done!!!
deank
20th February 2009, 15:02
Yes, you can add existing multiAVCHD compilations.
No, there is no way to implement UNDO function - sorry.
I know of NOT one application (no matter how big/expensive/free it is) that will convert your VCD/DVD/BD/AVCHD files back to what they were before authoring/compiling them in the new format/structure. :)

Very true, never thought about it in that way. :) Didn't really see it as an authoring platform, but you're right and doesn't really make sense now that i think about it. Just didn't wanna keep all the BDMV folders on my system.
Again, great work - will try it out at the weekend.

As I think more of it - it is possible to create an application that can process *.m2ts and *.mpls files and convert them back to MKV files for example...
But at this point I don't have the time nor will :) to do it.

Up and Down buttons are used for moving to previous/next title. Left and Right are used if there is more than one menu page and then arrow should move to page-changer arrow >>> for first page, <<< >>> for 2nd-3rd page and <<< ^^^ for the last page.

The reason for Drag/Drop errors on some Windows installations is found (thanks to Gerhard Fricke)
If DEP is enabled for ALL programs in your system, former multiAVCHD versions will return error and won't start. You will find this option in:
System Properties / Advanced / Performance / Settings... / Data execution prevention (quite a long way to go :) )

i just encountered a little bug.
i made a custom menu with 4 videos w/thumbnails, i used Hebrew fonts.
the logs clearly states it encountered no errors and when i tested using TMT it really worked.
However when clicking on VIDEO 1 it played VIDEO 2 and vice versa.
same for VIDEO 3 and ViDEO 4.
Yes, they are in correct order on media tab and on title editor.
i wonder if it has anything to do with hebrew being written right to left. :)

:( Yes.... because title names are written as ONE line of text in avisynth - ie
".............. TITLE#1 NAME .......... TITLE#2 NAME"
" TITLE#3 NAME .......... TITLE#4 NAME ............TITLE#5 NAME"
".............. TITLE#6 NAME .......... TITLE#7 NAME"
I will see if this can be fixed.

As I earlier posted "Yes, it would be nice, wouldn't it!"...
****
A note I was really avoiding for the last couple of weeks:
Please, do not insult me with donations of 2..3..4... EUR. Just keep it to yourself (and not give it to paypal). It is funny (or not?!) how you can afford HD environment and equipment (one that usually costs few hundred/thousand bucks) to use for home entertainment and then "donate" 2EUR :)
And more - I'm a patient and understanding more than enough. Please don't overwhelm me with private messages or emails (because you can't post in this thread or you decided not to...), with statements like..."I donated/will donate $3 (or the funniest - I'll donate 100GBP) - great proggy! Can you make it do/process/compile/accept/transform/encode/rebuild/fix (... here you can put anything you may want - I have it already...)?

@~bt~: Don't worry about it. :) I was not in the mood yesterday when I posted... It won't expire.
@asherungar: Yes, there is a way to add slices with macroblocks for each frame. It doesn't touch the video itself and the final size get's a bit bigger but it's not a big deal.
I'm still working on it and waiting for some help from the x264 developer.
