View Full Version : multiAVCHD - author Blu-ray/AVCHD (Blu-ray players, camcoders, Viera TV) + (HD) DVD
deank
10th February 2009, 13:47
Build 359:
[-] Quit on last title finish option in Authoring.
It will insert STOP command at the last title, so your player should return to StandBy. Useful if you fall asleep :) - your player won't loop thru titles nor will stay at the TOP menu page til the morning :).
Also limited support for MOV files. They will be processed if encoded with HDV3 video codec (digital camera) and with PCM audio. (mplayer is required in tools folder).
Links in first post are updated. (mplayer included in tools folder)

Hi dean,
i have a small request - ability to change the character set in the tsMuxer font selection. instead of the default one. for unicode characters.
this is available in tsMuxer GUI itself. like arial has different sets - i need one that is HEBREW_CHARSET instead of ANSI_CHARSET.
thanks alot!!
deank
10th February 2009, 15:32
multiAVCHD uses the SYSTEM DEFAULT character set, not ANSI, so subtitles should show normally. Doesn't your display correctly?
asherungar
10th February 2009, 15:35
not when i have hebrew subtitles. its a different charset... it shows , but not the correct chars.
i need ISO-8859-8 encoding which is unicode.
i think tsmuxer command line has a way to change the charset. doesnt it?
thanks
p.s. - this is all on mac. in windows its possible to change the charset for non-unicode programs which does the trick.

It should, in tsMuxerGUI i allways select "Verdana" for instance, and it allways get used that way. So somehow it must be possible to get tsMuxeR to use all (true-type) fonts you have installed.

@G_M_C: I'm not sure if I understood your post.

CHINESE 136
EAST EUROPE 238
GB2312 134
GREEK 161
HANGEUL 129
HEBREW 177

Everyday it seems complete for the goals I set for myself.
To-do list:
* AVCHD split (allowing (for example) 15GB bluray movie only rip to go into 2xDVD9 or 4xDVD5 discs or just to a USB disk for Playstation3)
* Add content to existing multiAVCHD generated output
* Compatible output for Panasonic TV/BD SD cards playback

Just install the newest version, in multiAVCHD folder look at sub folder "tools". Copy what´s in there direct into multiAVCHD folder so that all files are in multiAVCHD.

A small bug in build 361 : when .mkv files are added, their default menu title is truncated to 7 first characters. e.g. 'Lost S05E01.mkv' becomes 'Lost S0'.

Same for me.
But when I launched the build 361 I admit it was sad to see that only 19 had already donate.:confused:
I haven't a Paypal account but I'm sure that I'll donate for this very good job.

Hi deank, I tested with v351 but still got 4:3. Will try to test the newest version with forcing 16:9 again later ...
Hi deank, I still can not get this work...I checked the BDMV folder by using mrr19121970's tool(http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=1247218#post1247218) and did see the AR of all clpi files is showing 16:9 but my PS3 still plays it as 4:3. Another strange problem I found is, even the PS3 menu poping up when I press the "X" button is much slimer than normal. Apparently it is compressed from 16:9 to 4:3. looks PS3 compresses all the screen from 16:9 to 4:3 not only the video. I didn't see this when I played other normal 4:3 videos.
I've put the DBMV folder(real stream removed) here in case you have chance to take a look. Thanks.

You can uncheck [x] Delete temp files and check yourself the TEMP folder... open .meta files and you will see how they are generated. I can't do anything else - sorry. Try using multiAVCHD in Wine....

Dean do u know where the png files are for menus in the bluray structure?
Backgrounds (motion or static) are not separate files but encoded as AVC/MPEG-2 and encapsulated in the transport stream files (m2ts).

Build 362:
* I wonder how no one reported this bug:
Blue and red channels were swapped (because of AviSynth) and colors for menu titles and outline didn't work as expected :) It is fixed now
* All entry boxes will now allow you to use characters, specific to the code page / character set you select in tsMuxer tab. For example - now I can enter title names, welcome screen message and menu headline/credits in cyrillic.
* More options in Authoring tab - probably most of you will like it a lot.
- You can now change the title of multiAVCHD menu to anything you like
- You can now change the font used for the title and bottom credits
- Top menu title and bottom texts (version/site/date-time) will use the color you select for "Menu font color" but top title will have 40% decreased luminosity and bottom texts will have 70% decreased luminosity (both will be a bit dimmed)
* Menu is now encoded in 1080p (opposed to "interlaced" for former builds)

A really helpfull feature would be the possibility to add additional .ac3 files to be muxed into those .ts/.mov./.mkv files, which are to be authored.
deank
11th February 2009, 16:46
It can be done easily if .AC3 files are named after the imported file...
for example if you have test.mov and test.ac3 in the same folder (and an option checked) - multiAVCHD will include it in the final output.

Hi dean,
i just made a multiAVCHD (this time on windows) of the 6 star wars episodes (about 50G!)
anyway, i made a custom menu, and the arrows work but clicking on a title just sends me back to the menu again - doesnt jump to the title even if i "jump to title 1" (on PS3).
what went wrong? using v361.
thanks

Thanks for the excellent additions in authoring tab. Is it possible to easily create a 'preview' option for the menu image ?
PS. The custom 'Top Menu Title' and corresponding font is not saved in the .ini file. Furthermore, the 'Credits Info' cannot be edited (build 362).

Can you do some tests with build 363?
Option is added in "Advanced" tab:
[x] Add external audio tracks
If checked - AC3/PCM/LPCM audio tracks named after video (video_file.mts -> video_file.ac3 or video_file.pcm or video_file.lpcm) will be added to final compilation

A few more things (build 362) :
1) The default titles are still trimmed to 7 characters ! (strange) It does it all the time for any .mkv filename.
2) The program always creates 14 menu arrows irrespective of the number of .mkv files included. The empty arrows point to the intro screen. (note : I am previewing it in Nero Showtime, I don't know whether it is a problem of multiAVCHD or not).
3) Is there any way NOT to show the intro screen, and go straight to the menu ?
4) Dots '.' do not appear in the menu preview tab.
5) Is it easily possible to increase the max 37 characters for menu entries to 50 ? And use a better font than courier, e.g. Lucida Console (I understand that there has to be a courier type font in order to control the menu entry length).
6) I think than 1s 295ms is too long for the first SRT line. I tested 300 ms and works fine, while values lower than 50 ms scrambled the subtitle sequence.

Yes, but in SAPs and PS3 there is no way to see the unused positions... That's the way it is.

Yes. I think adding these options in authoring are more than enough for now. Once free version expires then it might be possible.

Did you ever try or just love to ask questions?
multiAVCHD will show title names up to 60 characters and it is since its initial build. What you see in the program window (37 chars only) is because there is no space to show more. If you click on a title you will see that it has its full name and it will be used when menu is generated.
About the font - I'll check if LC or any other font works with the menu.
Preview - it is possible.

You are right, it was not obvious that it internally kept the full title. A full preview option will help on this, or just a scrolling listbox that contains full 60-char titles.
Thanks a lot for your efforts. Donation raised ;)

I can't replicate this problem...
Does it happen with all titles?
Does it happen after you edit a title name in "MENU" tab?
Do you actually see the truncated name when you play the compilation?
What do you see in details.txt/multiMENU.txt/multiAVCHD.txt files in the output folder?

Tried :
Lost S05E01 -> becomes Lost S0
Prison Break S04E01 -> becomes Prison Break S0
hmmm... there is something wrong after character zero '0'. Is it set as a delimiter maybe ?
Does it happen after you edit a title name in "MENU" tab?
No, in the very beginning, when you add the .mkv files
Do you actually see the truncated name when you play the compilation?
Yes
What do you see in details.txt/multiMENU.txt/multiAVCHD.txt files in the output folder?
* Lost S0 (in details.txt)
Lost S05E01.mkv (in multiAVCHD.txt)
Lost S0 (in multiMENU.txt)
Hope that helps.

It seems there is a clear pattern for the error. Some examples may help :
abcd efgh.mkv -> 'abcd'
abcdefgh.mkv -> 'abcd'
12345678.mkv -> '1234'
Hello World.mkv -> 'Hello W'
HelloHelloHello.mkv -> 'HelloHelloH'

Yes, but AVCHD standard says that you can have 720x resolutions both 16:9 and 4:3, so we are missing something.
Can you send me a sample video of your encodes? I have captures of 720x576 (PAL) 4:3 and I can't make them play 4:3 - they play horizontally stretched in my PS3 - so I have the opposite problem :)
