0140x.rar (http://multiavchd.deanbg.com/_MENUSTR/0/0140x.rar)

There are four files in the archive:

01403.cPAL
01404.cPAL
01403.cNTSC
01404.cNTSC

If you're using NTSC version, rename 01403/4.cNTSC to 01403/4.m2ts and copy them to your output AVCHD\STREAM folder. Burn the disk and try the menu.

Sorry, just got home now and can test. But I think you already built this into the latest build - correct?

I tried downloading the files but keep getting a timeout.

UPDATE: Got the files, burning the disc now.

UPDATE2: It works! Replacing those files gave me a nice blue arrow. I almost did not think it was working as it took about 15 seconds for the arrow to show. So works on this SAP - Panasonic BD30.

Note on build 294:

Now HD audio (TrueHD/DTS-MA/HRA) can be converted AC3 or LPCM. Option is in Settings.

http://multiavchd.deanbg.com/multiavchd_settings.jpg

Some changes in the GUI. I hope you like the new arrangement.

I had no chance to test DTS-MA. if someone can - share the results.

Very SWEET! thanks! Although I will only use it for TRUE-HD as my ps3 handles DTS-MA muxes from tsmuxer.

I found few bugs (audio delay, audio channels) - fixed now. DTS-MA/HRA is recognized now.

If someone has video sample with DTS-HA - please test if you'll have it properly converted to AC3/LPCM.

Thanks.

@jfcarbel: Yes, these files are in the latest builds, so no need to replace anything manually.

Update executable and server order is changed now in build 298-299. It should help with failing updates.
Startup procedure is now changed. multiAVCHD should load much faster.

Nope. Don't know what it is, but same thing as before--multiAVCHD splash screen, then custom menu with no arrow, then black screen and blue arrow (w/ 14 selectable slots). It's a Sony BDP-S350 and NTSC. At least now the custom shows up again, where with one of your previous updates it started hanging on the splash screen.

Depending on what you do, I suppose I might try a firmware update over the weekend.

First post here... Great program - thanks so much! I have the same result as described here by Cerpintine, using build 295 and playing back on a Sony BDP-S550. Also when the screen goes black showing the arrow, I also have empty, square brackets on the right-hand side. But by remembering which titles belong to which arrow positions, everything plays back fine.

Don't use custom menu.

It is interesting that you see "[ ]" in the lower right corner.

Do you first see your custom menu with the background picture and title names?

What are you saying? In general your app caused a problem with the sync? Because I've been experiencing that, although sometimes it happens if your audio is being run through optical and video via hdmi. So players like mine come with a delay feature..

Don't use custom menu.

As far as I can recall, that doesn't work either. I've resorted to burning them one by one via tsMuxer. I will double check to make sure later though..

deank

The audio delay was when processing m2ts/ts/mpg and the bug was just for the last few builds, not before.

Using static (not custom) menu works for everyone. I don't know what's wrong with your hardware.

Yes - the custom menu came on with sound, picture and title names but without arrows to select the titles. Then the screen turned black and the arrows appeared with the empty "[ ]" on the lower right.

Custom menu test result (build 299) with SAP Samsung BD1400:
no arrows
titles are not selectable by RC

Unfortunately, different SAPs behave differently.

Nevertheless, Great Work! Congratulations!
Now I can burn the files from my HDV Camcorder (video:mpeg2, audio:mp2) in one single step on BD-R instead of 3 steps.

Custom menu works better on Sony S350.

What is the default colour of the menu text?

I chose a black background and just get the arrows. If the text is also black that will explain why I can't see the titles. Each title can be selected just fine from the menu.

edit.
I see the default colour for text is grey. The custom menu is nearly working.

Great job so far.

Err, nothing. And no, I just tried, it doesn't work  At one point it did. I've now tried it on two different S350 players ( + latest firmware) and two different brands of discs. It's not a cheap player, essentially a PS3 and the only difference between it and the higher model is analog outs. Without the custom menu now it hangs on your splash screen. On my pc it works via WinDVD.

I CAN however hit Options > Title Search on the splash and manually enter the title for it (them) to play. I can NOT afterwards get back to the splash.

Can we get at least one more person to confirm a non-working static menu?

FYI, I have these options checked:

Create top menu
Static menu (lite)
Sequential title playback
Apply compliant height to CPI/MPL
Force black fill for NC MKVs (PS3)
Ignore MKVs with high ref count
Add SRT suntitles from MKV folder

TV system: NTSC

I don't know what's wrong. Apaprently it's incredibly fussy with something.

Not me - it works fine with the build 299.
But still: colour changed to red - no effect.
Instead of custon titles I just have Tile 1, etc.
Same player, latest software. But this may come from file names in capital lettres.

And one more thing. My mkv bilingual file converted to BD looses the second language. Keep all audio track option is checked!

Ok, so I never had the 'full title count for menu page one' option checked. After a test titles 1-5 show up, with my two working. Otherwise, the Top Menu won't show unless on a pc. Do you have it working the other way, and that's just for me (nothing but a splash)?

If audio is OGM/MP3 or something different than AC3/DTS - it is not supported.

I will try to add conversion for non-compliant audio types when MKV files are imported.

At this point MP2/MP3/DTS-MA/HR/TrueHD in m2ts/mpeg/ts are converted to compliant audio, but not when MKV files are used.

You can post or examine your log file.

deank
31st January 2009, 22:18
@Cerpintine: Yes, this option always shows titles 1-5 in first page. If you use 2 input files only first two titles will point your movies. Other titles point to top menu. You can see it in the log.

At this point multiAVCHD produces:

0) No menu. 1st title starts. Titles directly selected via RC.
1) Animated menu with predefined title positions/count.
2) Static menu with predefined title positions/count
3) Static menu with used titles for page one..1 or 2 or 3 or 4
4) Static menu (CUSTOM) with proper title names for page 1 or 2.

0), 1) and 2) should work for EVERYONE

3) should work also for all of you

4) Seems to work for some SAPs and PS3.

@Cerpintine: I have all these scenarios working on PC (with Nero Showtime) and on my Playstation 3 (PAL). All WORKS as described in tutorial/screenshots.

Yes you are right. I did have the arrows and the titles could still be selected and played. I just don't see the title names. It is the same on a Samsung 1500 and a Sony S350. The standard static menu works fine on both players and has always have.

31st January 2009, 22:39
Okay... I'm glad to know that this works. At least for PAL version.

I have no other means to test output but with Playstation 3 (PAL) and Nero Showtime.

So all I'm doing goes thru these two.

I'm working on the custom menu. And I think that in next major version, there will be no animated menu, nor PAL/NTSC downloads. One version for all players.

It should clear things a bit.

deank, i'm having a strange problem in the last builds. In some files, the subtitles only works for some time, then they dont show anymore. I've made several trys, even embebed the subtitles in the MKV but always the same result... i'm having this problem in 2 of the 4 files i've worked since yesterday. Anyone had this problem?

deank, cool stuff. I have compiled a AVCHD with multiple files that tsmuxer would not do on its own without errors. I have a SAP Sony 350 and have tested several attempts getting success after re reading this thread. I am happy to post my results, and will continue to test this utility and post if useful.

my settings with build 299
X create top menu
X static menu
X custom menu
X skip top menu playback

I get your static menu briefly, then my background and titles of chapters from file names. I do not get any arrows at all, nor can I select with my remote.(I know you are working on this) I use my option title search and can choose from 1-40. (which is strange becaus there are only 7 titles, but I know 8 is the static and 9 is my background, so figure it must be something with the file structures.)
side note - Cool feature, please do not change, - is where I can pick a title and then it allows chapters within the titles with default 5 min intervals. This will be very convenient when making longer complex structures.

I only know of being able to use DVDs and am not able to use a memory card that I know of, so I try to only make titles I will use, but will try all new features on each new AVCHD I make which is pretty regularly.

Thank you,
wade

Yes, I had similar problems, even in earlier releases. This has to do with tsMuxer, not multiAVCHD. Probably something with streams inside mkv/ts files. I don't know.

@wader999: It seems something is really wrong. Using Skip top menu should make 1st title play after disk insertion.

I will put another release soon (v 2.1) and a FULL download will be needed.

I tried to combine 2 BD-Rs - made with a Panasonic program to save my HD Camcorder recordings from a SD card - onto one single BD-R. Each of the 2 separate BD-Rs is playable, the combined version is not fully playable.

The AVCHD structure of the first BD-R (input disk 1) contains 9 titles, each title contains up to 42 chapters, with a total file count of 250.

The AVCHD structure of the 2nd BD-R (input disk 2) contains 5 titles, each title contains up to 60 chapters, with a total file count of 214.

The AVCHD structure of the resulting combined BD-R (w.o. top menu) contains 14 + 4 titles. All 464 files (250 + 214) are included in the 'STREAM'-folder.

My SAP Samsung BD 1400 plays as new 1st title the old 1st title of the 1st input disk (with all chapters) followed as new 2nd title by the old 1st title of the 2nd input disk (with all chapters). Then it starts with the 1st title of the 1st BD-R again. A manual selection of new titles 3 to 14 via RC shows always the 1st title of the 1st BD-R again.

Sumary: Combining two BD-Rs puts all necessary files into the new AVCHD structure but plays only the first title of each (input) BD-R.

I'm aware of this. multiAVCHD does not process original playlist order.

Can you send me your AVCHD folders (original) without M2TS files?

deank, now that you are really going forward with your app; You might be able to look at te (GPL'ed) source of tsRemuX. You might be able to use it to create you own muxer, and circomvent (small) bugs that occur in tsMuxeR. And the other advantage is that you are not tied to effords or energy spent by others or the updates of a programm, that like tsMuxeR doesnt seem to happen or where no communication seems possible.

The source is freely downloadable here:

(The first post of the txRemux tread).

Thanks... I'm not really good in C++

tsremuxer needs one small change and it is to use 2 files for muxing, not only one...

Another day... and a lot of tests.

Today I found that with the same multiAVCHD output

* TMT
* Nero Showtime
* Playstation 3 (USB)
* Playstation 3 (DVD5)

-- all these behave DIFFERENTLY.

I issued build 308. It should make TMT and NERO work fine with custom menu.

Also PS3 plays custom menu - still no nav- arrows, but titles are selectable via Remote Control (or "triangle", NUMBER button or Jump to - title).

Please if someone can test with their stand-alone-player.

Here is the result of build 308 with the SAP Samsung BD 1400:

still no arrows
the SAP stops showing the menu, but is not accepting any command via RC

Did multiAVCHD update some menu files for PAL/NTSC?

And I'd rather have someone to test with Panasonic or Sony. They follow AVCHD standard and not Samsung.

So guys! Report from the build 308.

On a Sony BDP-S350 (SAP), it's like this (Custom menu checked):
AVCHD screen > 1 second> Title menu screen >2-3 seconds > Arrow appears. Arrow movable and clickable!
No problems, it works perfectly.

With Corel Win DVD:
Clickable menu without file names. First title starts playing immediately without menu. Titles selectable via Title menu of the player.

All in all, that's what I've said: as many SAPs, as many problems. Same is right for software players.

And Dean has absolutely right: the more we report different behavior or different SAP brands, the better he can solve various problems, isn't it?
