Sorry if this is obvious...where or is there an option to specify the # of chapters? I can see how to add them by using the slider and hitting the add button, but is there a box where you just add the # you wish?

EDIT:

Nevermind, used the search function and found my answer.

I never said multiAVCHD will accept an HD-DVD structure and will reauthor it as BDMV. It will however import .EVO files and each file goes out as a title.

You can use eac3to to join the features and then import the result in multiAVCHD. Since I don't have a sample with 'feature_1...2...3', I wouldn't know what the result would be. I also think that EVOdemux can do it too.

And you said you get an error, but didn't say the most important (for me) - the line number where it occurred.

Dean

Thanks for the evodemux tip. The error I'm getting after a short(ish) time is:

(RT) Floating point division by zero - Line 10183 - on build 689

deank

The error you get is caused when you transcode something?

It errors out probably because x264+avisynth simply do nothing. Use multiUPDATE.exe now to update for the fix and try again. I guess it will still do not transcode your source, but at least it won't crash.

drmih
20th August 2009, 22:02
Yes it keeps going but on both sources I've tried it's the main movie it fails to transcode. It says that tsmuxer didn't like it.

I just wanted to let it finish. The file 'Feature' is created by evomuxer from 'Feature1' and 'Feature2'. Without being a rocket-scientist it looks like all of the 1920 ones failed whereas the 720 were fine. Here's the top of the file.

@DMagic1

Does your latest post mean that my suggestion resolved your problem?

Yes it did fix my problem.

I don't know what to say dean, but for what ever reason the update process did have a issue when I had multiAVCHD folder in a folder named MKV_TO_BLUERAY.

On another note I have a problem with undersized final output. Two different projects have been off by 500mb and 700mb. They were 720 and 1080 projects of mkv with dts keeping dts as is. It was also two pass normal and two pass fast.

I'll do another encode tonight to check again with the DTS but so far I get 99% close results.

Last few nights I transcoded something set for 4480MiB and got 4441MiB final output, which is pretty close to 100% (no DTS audio there, just AC3 and 10 extras along the main movie + few 'inter:)pol warnings'.

And you got 500MB off for what destination size? For 700MiB or for 25000?

Setting was to DVD-9 size.

I was using RipBot to get my bitrate size before and it was pretty spot on. I would usually knock off about 150mb for the authoring size increase multiAVCHD has.

Just to compare with one file, RipBot states for DVD9 output bitrate at 9269 and multiAVCHD states 8469.
This is a single title project with only a basic menu. This is the one that came out 7,791,305,457 bytes

The new version just crashes out with the floating point division at line 1423 as soon as I try and save the 'Fit All' settings. I see that it also duplicates the titles at the lower resolution in the Media window with the resolution in brackets.

Are you sure that the audio was not converted, or after the suggestion you removed an audio track or subtitle tracks?

I let my PC run tonight with target size of 3900MiB (4GB) and got output 3899MiB for 1920x1080p with DTS audio.

The new version just crashes out with the floating point division at line 1423 as soon as I try and save the 'Fit All' settings.

I fixed this too. Still for some reason nothing of this will work for you. There is a problem, detecting the original bitrate/durations of the files you loaded. As I asked before - try to use only the large titles, no the whole disc/features.

Few nice additions will be available later today, regarding subtitles. It is now possible to:

* import all vsfilter/textsub supported text-based subtitle formats (like SRT, SSA, ASS, microDVD TXT/SUB)
* preserve the original styles in SSA/ASS and SUB
* create more beautiful subtitles for you compilations, using features not available in tsMuxeR:

--- Left / Centered / Right justification
--- Transparency
--- Outline
--- Drop shadow
--- Opaque box

These functions rely on avs2bdn (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=146493) and BDsup2sub (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=145277). The only downside of using this feature is that it is slow and takes time, but produces great-looking results.

The options will be available in muxer&audio (not really proper place - redesigning is in progress) and will depend on having avs2bdnxml.exe in tools folder, which will be available shortly in the full download for build 690.

Ok, since the "Advanced subtitle processing" was kind of slow, in build 691:

* advanced processing of subtitles takes about 5 to 10 times less (about 5-10 mins for a full length video of ~2hrs)
* SSA/ASS subtitles will be parsed directly and will have all their features untouched
* you can now import MicroDVD text .SUB subtitles (cool!)

BDsup2sub and avs2bdnxml are updated to 3.6.9 and 1.7 respectively.

more to come: Advanced subtitles preview

Some GUI changes done... It seems that in some of the next builds only one "FONT-properties" box will be left to users' choice. I doubt there is a real need for 1080p as a different set. So a preview is now available in "Subtitles & Audio" tab.

Build 693:

* Fixed bugs for advanced subtitle processing for 25fps, 29.97fps and 59.94fps (thanks to drpaulng)
* Rewritten routines that handle copy/move/delete functions in multiAVCHD, so RT: errors should be down to 1 a year :)
* Save project now works as it should (saving all Settings) in the .mpf file for later import/reprocessing (10x to Cela for bringing the subject again)
* All settings are now saved in the output folder mpf file, too. (10x to Cela again)
* additional 5 to 10% speed improvement for Advanced subtitle creation.

Hi

I bought an OPPO-BDP83 to replace my PS3. I did test 25 Blu-Rays archived on a 500 gig Fat32 drive authored using multiAVCHD on the PS3 and it worked brilliantly. Now I tested the same HDD disk connected to the OPPO but there seems to be a lot of problems. Picture freezes. Need to hard reset the OPPO. Resolution is different. Does not respond very good to skipping of chapters, etc.

Did someone tested multiAVCHD on the OPPO with more than 20 Blu-Rays ripped on a 500 gig HDD or even higher? Did it work for you? If so, what tool did you use to format the drive. I used dos version of fat32format (http://www.ridgecrop.demon.co.uk/index.htm?fat32format.htm). What was the settings used in multiAVCHD?

Unfortunately I sold my PS3 to cover the costs of the OPPO. I have also reported this to OPPO but wants to make sure the fault is not on my side.

Thanks for a great tool. If it only works on OPPO!!!

Oppo has confirmed they have a problem (sorry if this is already mentioned here):

I decided this afternoon to create a small tool (easySUP) to help users create nice (BD) SUP, DVD SUB or BDN XML+PNG subtitles, which can later be used with applications which support SUP format (import in tsMuxeR, multiAVCHD, Scenarist or any other tool). It is kind of an extended GUI to avs2bdnxml (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=146493)+ avisynth + vsfilter + bdsup2sub (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=145277) and should make users' life easier. :)

It supports some things not found in multiAVCHD (like LOGO, outline color and shadow depth) and it can be used as a stand-alone application.

Input formats:
Text based subtitles: SSA, ASS, SRT, microDVD SUB.

Output formats:
Picture based subtitles: Blu-ray SUP, DVD SUB and BDN XML+PNG.

DVD SUB (idx+sub) and BDN (xml+png) are packed in .rar files for easier distribution.

Click the image to download the standalone application (2.5MB):

...or if you have multiAVCHD, just download (http://multiavchd.deanbg.com/easySUP.rar) the executable (44kb rar) and extract it in your multiAVCHD folder.

If there is any development I'll post it in Subtitles sub-forum (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=149160).

Ok!Thanks Dean!

You probably installed the latest MS Windows update, which states to check your clock after the update.
Happened here too.:p

Sorry Dean, this is OT. I know a lot of people following this thread have PS3s. The new slim is able to bitstream high def audio and I wanted to check if the slim is able to play m2ts/ts (streamed or directly from the XMB) with high def audio also if anyone got it to play BD iso. Thanks,

Thanks again Dean for your hard work on this program, as it has worked well for me with some mkv conversions to HD-DVD on DVD5/9 disks.
My question concerns 720p support in HD-DVD players. From reading some other threads and boards discussing 3xDVD, it appears that 720p video may be supported.
I understand that the hddvdrebuilder code you are using requires 1080 sized video, but is it technically possible to author 3xDVD 720p for playback on a HD-DVD player?
If so, can hddvdrebuilder be modified to process and create 720p 3xDVD disks?

Thanks again for a nice program, and a little something is on the way by PayPal for all your hard work.

Yes, it is possible to modify the source code - it is published anyway. A lot of formats are supported in HD-DVD but the current crippled hddvdmux won't work with anything but 1920x1080@23.976. That's about it.

So 720p is supported in the spec .. thanks for the clarification.
Where did the author post the source code, or do you have a copy up on your site? From your experience with the code, would you rate such a modification as impossible, very difficult, easy ???

I recently noticed that when I initialize multiAVCHD it creates a file called "program" on the root drive. In my case C:/program. It is 59 bytes. When I restart Windows XP SP3 complains that this file should be renamed. Any idea why this file is being created?

I don't know what this is. multiAVCHD does not create such file on purpose.

Here you go. Hopefully you'll be able to read it. I think photobucket is going to resize.

I enlarged your posted image in a graphic program - and from what I can make out, it's information about SmartLabs' "tsMuxer" - including the version number and website.

Hard to understand/believe that "multiAVCHD" could have generated this file...

Did you obtain "multiAVCHD" from the official "deank" site or elsewhere?

These two files showed up on the root drive yesterday. I renamed Program to Program.txt so it could be uploaded.

Hm... yep... both are generated by multiavchd.... I'm away from home now but once i'm back, I'll fix it. I hope they don't cause trouble.

edit: use multiUPDATE.

I still have the undersized issues. The last project was done on another pc with a clean multiAVCHD install full with no other codecs and such.

The project was for a DVD-9 output. I used 7300 for my bitrate and the final product was near perfect size. Problem is multiAVCHD was stating to use 6738 for the bitrate which would have been undersized.

I've done many other projects which keep ending up undersized. That is why I went with 7300 instead of 6738. The projects have ranged from mkv to wmv and of course the wmv didnt have dts audio.

I know Dean has stated he gets almost perfect output in his test. Are there others besides me getting undersized outputs? I've only done DVD-9 projects so I dont know how well DVD-5 turns out.

It depends on how 'wrong' the resolution is. You may be able to play them as they are... Otherwise you will need to transcode to proper resolution.

Have in mind that strict Blu-ray/AVCHD resolutions are 720x480, 720x576, 1280x720, 1440x1080 and 1920x1080.

It is better to test and then decide what to do.

burro08 if you plan on using your output in a PS3 on a dvd then you need to transcode to the proper resolution. If not you will get the dreaded green boarders.

Well, with multiAVCHD he'll not get the green bars, but still...

New user here.
If I have avisynth, haali and ffdshow already installed on this system (I'm using them with other programs), is it safe to uncheck their respective checkboxes while installing multiAVCHD?

deank
4th September 2009, 11:05
Yes, it is in fact preferred NOT to install them if you already have them installed and working :)

***

multiAVCHD was certified yet by another site as safe and clean:

Cool, thanks!

Could you please add a short notice on that page in the installer to not install those things if they already exist on the system? I think that's going to help new users. Thank you.

(Of course, auto-detection would be even better, but I guess that requires more tinkering with the installer.)
