All my XMB thumbnails are corrupted. I have attached and example 00000001.jpg. I believe it is a bug in mplayer.exe that is causing the issue. I can reproduce the issue if I do -frames 1. The work around is to do -frames 2 and discard the first frame (see 00000002.jpg).
Here is a mplayer command line that works for me:
mplayer -nosound -vo jpeg -frames 2 -ss 30 I:\AVCHD\BDMV\STREAM\00001.mts
The above command line work via remote desktop also. The -ss is the seak position (30 seconds in this case).
What command line is MultiAVCHD using?
Also is MulitAVCHD processing more than one MTS file per title for chapters icons when using XMB menus? I am not getting very many chapter icons between 3-5 per title.

@plee320: You can't play PAL (25fps) content on your (NTSC) console - that's why nothing happens when you play a title.

mplayer -ss myduration -frames 1 -ao null -vo jpeg:quality=100:outdir=/.multiTH mtsfile
Chapters are created @ 5min intervals for the first m2ts file of a title.
I'll change -frames to 2 to see what will happen. You can post back with results with build 445.

I did some tests with 60fps sources and finally decided to use -frames 5 as the 5th always shows fine.

Deank,
But if I create a USB multiAVCHD and select DISPLAY ALL and then the individual m2ts files, the NTSC PS3 would play the 25fps clips. Although it would behave the same - return to the main menu if I just play the USB as an AVCHD.

Yes, via PS3 XMB you can play individual m2ts in any FPS.
In BluRay/AVCHD mode (BD player mode) you can't play PAL content on NTSC console.
Warning message in the LOG if NTSC is set for menu but some clips are 25fps is added in build 447.
I just finished adding overscan option to multiAVCHD when I realized that it's not going to work, because menu navigation will get misaligned - sorry.

No, it is not.
You can use "Cut end" option in Muxer tab and put value: 60 then check the output compilation - it will be created really fast. Then if you like it - put 0 and create normal compilation. It will cut 60 seconds of each clip.

No, it is not normal. It should take less than a minute.
Restart your computer, start multiAVCHD, go to Settings and check [x] Show spawned tools then load the mkv file and see what TSmuxer will show.

* Up/Down buttons enabled in AVCHD playlist editor
Now you can reorder input AVCHD contents. If you have old compilations you can load and reorder them and multiAVCHD will generate new menu in less than a minute.

Hi Dean,
Up/Down/Delete buttons work in playlist editor.
Up/Down arrows when moving through chapters is a little confusing since up arrow moves you backwards and down arrow moves you forward (on a BDP-S350).

Is there a way to convert the clip from 25fps to 23.976fps with the audio in sync? Tsmuxer has the option for video but not for audio.

How confusing that can be? Up moves back, down - forward. You're either a gamer (using invert Y-axis) or just like things being awkward :)
I think BACK/UP should move pointer back, and RIGHT/DOWN should move you forward.
Hi Deank,

Yes, there is a way, but it's out of multiAVCHD scope. multiAVCHD does not "do" reencoding, tho it is really easy to do, but then it won't be what we all need.

Any chance of updating it to allow .TS files to be used as well?

The new build fixes the thumbnail image quality.
The chapter icons/thumbs seem to only be seconds apart (like 5sec) instead of 5min (or 300sec). When they are selected, the real chapter is selected. Any chance that 5 seconds was used instead of 300 seconds for the -ss parameter?
Just wondering if you are planning on showing the actual duration of the move on the XMB menu instead of just the duration of the first MTS file. Are you planning on adding chapter marks for the entire movie?
Great job on developing this useful tool.

No. -ss is set correctly. Try to play a .mts file with mplayer and set -ss to see what happens and what A:/V: show :) Yes, I'll fix the chapters and the duration.

Hello Dean,
Just tried the latest version with the XMB style menu. Works like a charm, apart from one little thing. When moving down through the titles the following happens.
After using the <down> arrow on the remote, the <down> arrow on the screen appears. Pressing <enter> will select the next menu item and the 'down' arrow on the screen appears. I think this is ok, because now I can browse down through the rest of the titles, just by pressing <enter> on the remote.
However, when going up through the titles, after each new item, the <right> arrow shows up on the screen. Now browsing up through the titles is not as easy as down because every time you need to press <up> and <enter> on the remote.
I created the menu importing a AVCHD folder and playback on a PS3.

In order to burn the multiAVCHD into to DVD-9 or DVD-5, which format should we choose? multiAVCHD or multiBD? Is there any restriction for a BD player for playing BDMV (multiBD) and BDAV (multiAVCHD) in DVD media and BD media?

multibd is what you want for DVD/BD. Multiavchd is for USB FAT32 devices.

No, but you can type "*" and it will show all files in the folder. I changed the loading box to default to *.m* so you'll see mpeg/mpg/mts/m2ts/mov/mkv. Only *.ts files will need drop-down-list selection.

When mplayer extracts frame from MKV it is all okay, but when using .m2ts file (while creating menu) - there is a problem. mplayer does not extract the requested frame. I know about it. :) And thumbnails in 7 thumbnails menu are also not correct :) tho no one really noticed it.

If anyone can understand what MPLAYER does - please let me know. Here is an example:
D:\multiAVCHD\tools>mplayer -ss 1 D:\multiAVCHD\AVCHD_2\BDMV\STREAM\00000.MTS
...
mplayer outputs:
A: 605.6 V: 605.6 A-V: 0.034 ct: -0.002 62/ 62 43% 4% 27.0% 22 0
... as playing second 605.
*** another test with the same file:
D:\multiAVCHD\tools>mplayer -ss 100 D:\multiAVCHD\AVCHD_2\BDMV\STREAM\00000.MTS
mplayer shows:
A: 636.2 V: 636.2 A-V: -0.002 ct: -0.035 28/ 28 61% 8% 2.4% 7 0

I was taking a shower and thinking... And I guess mplayer uses PTS time-stamp from m2ts for base. M2TS intro PTS timestamp usually holds value of 10-11 seconds, thus 600+ value in mplayer's output.
I'll check if -ss parameter is not about seconds but packets when it comes to m2ts files. Let me do some tests and I'll get back with more info.

Here is my take on mplayer -ss with m2ts files that contain VBR movies.
Looking at the source for Mplayer and doing testing with mplayer, I think it is not detecting frame rate (bytes/sec), so just doing a byte seek based on this source code demux_ts.c (http://svn.mplayerhq.hu/mplayer/trunk/libmpdemux/demux_ts.c?content-type=text%2Fplain&view=co):
newpos = (flags & SEEK_ABSOLUTE) ? demuxer->movi_start : demuxer->filepos;
if(flags & SEEK_FACTOR) // float seek 0..1
newpos+=(demuxer->movi_end-demuxer->movi_start)*rel_seek_secs;
else
{
// time seek (secs)
if(! video_stats) // unspecified or VBR
newpos += 2324*75*rel_seek_secs; // 174.3 kbyte/sec
else
newpos += video_stats*rel_seek_secs;
}
It looks like a -ss 300 is the same as -sb 300*2324*75 for VBR videos in a m2ts file.
For a work around (with VBR you will never be precise), you can take ( size of clip in bytes / duration of the clip in sec) * seconds to seek as the parameter to -sb instead of using -ss.
If you really wanted to be exact, you could do positions before and after approximate chapter mark and look at the V parameter coming out of mplayer to help narrow down the exact chapter location. (I would never bother). It is cool the V keep incrementing with each M2TS file in a series for one title.

Had a little problem yesterday, Dean.
I created a AVCHD with 17 titles, with XMB style menu and custom background. All other settings were default, I didn't even edit the titles names.
The 15 first titles appeared correctly on the XMB, but the last two were not on XMB format, it was like a custom menu, without any info on the titles (it was blank, all I got were the arrows).
Did I do something wrong?
Cheers!
