I don't like it either. There were so many complaints from users with old 1024x768 screen resolution displays, so I was forced to do it.

A quick note:

multiAVCHD full download (http://download.videohelp.com/deanbg/multiAVCHD_4.1.exe) and standalone goSUP/easySUP updated:

Question: Does "multiAVCHD full download" mean a significant revision, so users should uninstall their earlier baseline 4.1 installations before installing the latest? The word "full" seems to indicate (to me) that this revision is greater than just replacing an older multiAVCHD.exe file with a newer one.

Thanks for your ongoing work and development :)

Full-download means 'multiAVCHD and all other tools'. No, you don't need to perform any uninstall/install even if you decide to download the full-package. You can install it OVER the old one.

You can simply update multiAVCHD (when prompted) and manually download easySUP and goSUP - that's it. :)

Errrr....but why not a Windows-Window :p okay seriously now: I mean a window you can drag in any size you like? Like most windows applications have? It's really annoying to scroll from left to right...sorry to say that...

@insane: Why do you play the files individually and why do you play them with MPC? Use BD player software like nero showtime or arcsoft tmt or PDVD, WinDVD.

Your problem may be caused by broken/wrong version of matroska haali splitter. You can try to change the setting in haali splitter to scan more TS packets before rendering. The default is 45000 I think - try to alter the value, but please use the recommended version.

MPC is free, that's all. Plus, the other programs usually have codec-baggage.

Thanks for the suggestion.
I am using the version you recommend (from your link)
I upped the TS pkt from 45,000 up to 500,000 and it still doesn't work.

Is there any easy way to make a sample clip of this file for uploading to anyone willing to look?

You can examine the m2ts files in BDedit. TS packet structure is not of much interest/help. The main thing is the IGS graphics and the way they're muxed into the m2ts file.

If you talk about 6 mono waves, you should maybe make a single multichannel wav before importing it in MultiAVCHD. You can do this with WaveWizard.

Excellent looking addition deank! :)

I tried multiAVCHD in re-author mode on a title that has IG stream for the menu. I was trying to reduce the Blu-ray to BD5, AVCHD.
My first attempt, I used transcode on all 8 titles, 4 features and 4 menu m2ts files, blanking 3 warnings and adverts. The resulting backup would not display the button highlights, presumably since tsMuxeR will not support IG streams.
My second attempt, I chose to only transcode the 4 video files to reduce there size, and left the the menu m2ts files as is. Though the button highlights now work and I did appear to create a successful BD5 backup, after burning to DVD+RW and testing on my Sony S360, the audio on the menus is not playing back correctly, but stutters every second or so. Also, at these stutters, I see my receiver stereo lights flash with these stutters.
My thought is, though these menu m2ts files are still pictures and not motion menus, the bitrate is above AVCHD requirements, thus causing this. The video, being a still picture, does not display any noticeable glitch.
Could this be my problem?
Is there any way to reencode these type of IG menus, and be able to keep the button highlights?
I do not have a problem if I keep the original menus and burn to BD-RE, only when trying to keep them and use DVD media.

You should never allow multiAVCHD re-encode playlists marked as [menu MP]. It means the IGS is muxed into the m2ts and it will be lost after encoding. Use it only with [menu SP] (sub-path) menu playlists. In fact - I think multiAVCHD should gray-out the 'blank' button when you mark [menu MP] playlist.

About the stuttering - I get the same receiver 'flashes' when bitrate is too high and media cannot serve it. I don't think we can do much about it. If you test with software player there should be no stutter, nor when using BD-R(E) as you said.

Dean

// Also DVD-RW has lower access/read rate than regular DVD-R (I think).

I figured the menu re-encode was not a good idea, which was confirmed by testing the backup. :( However, I also suspected that for AVCHD, bitrates need to be reduced, so it would be necessary.
You are correct about the software player test, which is why I thought, initially, I had created a good backup. My ultimate goal for my backups is to burn to optical media, which is why I may not have the overall success rate of others, since playback on standalones requirements are different. :)
Oh well, another learning experience! :p

Hi all,

please excuse me for posting a very basic question, but I have not found a complete, step-by-step explanation on how to do this so far, and I believe I am not getting the best results as a result.

I recently installed the full retail version of CoreAVC. Everything went fine, even installed the latest NVidia drivers & CUDA support.

On setup, you can set CoreAVC to be the preferred codec in DirectShow, I believe, so it overrules any other codecs.

When I now re-encode an M2TS file in MultiAVCHD, is there any way of forcing it to use CoreAVC, or should I be seeing something to that effect anywhere, should it say COREAVC is being used anywhere ?

If anyone would be so kind to tell me the exact steps I have to perform, I'm assuming possibly in Haali Media Splitter and / or FFDShow, to make sure only CoreAVC is being used in the future ?

I'm guessing my re-encoding is going to take less time using CoreAVC, right ?!

Cheers

I doubt that. Avisynth serving + x264 encoding takes most of the overall completion time. No matter what your decoder is, the difference will be insignificant.

Hi deank,

First of all thanks again for this great program…

Now a request: Is there any chance that you could add an option to play an alternative playlist according to the players default language / audio selected in config menu?

The idea is, I have two playlists (seamless branched) one has some m2ts with texts in one language and the other has them with another language, one playlist should be the default that will always play apart from when your player has as default the language corresponding to the second playlist or when you select this second language in config menu.

Thanks

No progress there... It puzzles me why Panasonic won't play multiAVCHD new menus.

I have no way to test directly, but I wonder if BD Rebuilder full-backups written to DVD5/9 work in Panasonic players.

I wish I could run a test but I will be out until mid September. If no one has done so by then I'll test then.

It won't play this in full backup mode, you have to chose movie only and BD5 for Panasonic players, because BD Rebuilder's BD25's structure is a little bit different of its BD5 structure, even in movie only mode.
And BD Rebuilder keeps only one title in movie only mode (when I tried it a few months ago), which means that if you wan't to keep more than one title, you should author this project with MultiAVCHD.

I believe it's explained in Audition's manual, or it creates itself the name of each channels (front right, center, ...) when you make a 5.1 project and then you put each mono wave on the corresponding line and it makes the good assignment when you export the multichannel wave.

Unsupported means "Unsupported for direct authoring". multiAVCHD will have to re-encode the file to make it Blu-ray/AVCHD compliant.

I think you are getting confused. CUDA is there to harness the power of the GPU (your graphics card). It has nothing to do with harnessing your 4 cores.

However, CoreAVC does offer multithreading support, so that would provide better harnessing of your 4 cores.

Hi deank, I recently made a full movie backup to BD5 from BD-RB, another one of those Universal titles I have had trouble with, and ran it thru multiAVCHD in re-author mode to add external audio.
On this BD-RB backup, I selected to keep the PiP from both the main movie, which had two - 480P, PiP tracks as well as a DTS Express audio, and one extra deleted scenes track that also had one 480P - PiP track with DTS Express audio.
Upon completion with multiAVCHD, I notice that the PiP for both tracks were not kept.
I realize the DTS Express is lost or not available for any backup, but is it normal to remove the PiP video track?
There was an additional .m2ts created because the original had two .mpls playlists associated with the .m2ts, which you had explained this before, but this additional .m2ts file did not have the PiP either.

Right, multiAVCHD doesn't support more than one video track per playlist - it means no PIP videos are preserved in the remuxed playlists.

Right, multiAVCHD doesn't support more than one video track per playlist - it means no PIP videos are preserved in the remuxed playlists.

Is this true for Re-author mode too?

... I just checked a previous BD-RB backup that included PiP and DD Plus secondary audio, which I used multiAVCHD, in Re-author mode, to remove/blank warnings only, and multiAVCHD retained the PiP track as well as the DD Plus audio.
I will assume, but please confirm, that if I choose to remux an external audio track to a mpls/m2ts that has PiP, then "it means no PIP videos are preserved in the remuxed playlists".
However, if the mpls/m2ts with PiP is not touched, but only warnings are blanked, multiAVCHD will retain the PiP within the mpls/m2ts upon Re-author? ( Since it obviously did! ):)

EDIT:
Just confirmed again that PiP is retained in Re-author mode as long as the mpls/m2ts file with PiP is not touched.

I'm having an interesting problem. I use MultiAVCHD a lot for converting 1080p and 720p files all the time to avchd to play on my ps3. However I also have some standard def mkv's that I'd like to play on my ps3 but need to convert to avchd first.

However on the standard def stuff when I convert to AVCHD and transcode (or even when I don't) the audio is drastically out of sync with the video. However this is never the case with 1080p or 720p files. I've noticed that it does this with MultiAVCHD and MKV2VOB as well so It's not just a program glitch I'm guessing. Anyone care to shed any light on the situation??

Hi Dean, sorry to trouble you again.I use muitiAVCHD to create blu-ray menu, and then parse the file 93001.m2ts(IGS). With Pelican9‘s help, I have this file's structure more clearly, now I parse the 93001.m2ts[interactive segment], and then create my own menu, but I encountered some problem.I just want to make a simple menu(one page, one BOG,one button(auto_action = TRUE)),tell you the process of modification.

First, I analyze the structure of your IGS
1)In the source 93001.m2ts,it has one interactive segment, one palette segment and a lot of object segments.I need to change the interactive segment ,because it is so complex. The interactive segment contains 4 menu pages.
2)In the first page[page id : 0],it contains one BOG[ two buttons]:
http://www.moandroid.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/Page0.JPG
3)the third page seventh buton's[Page id:2,Button id:6] command:
http://www.moandroid.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/SetButtonPage62.JPG
4)If copy third page seventh buton's [Page id:2,Button id:6] command to first page first button[Page id:0,Button id:0], when loading menu it will anto play title 1. I did the test,it is right.
http://www.moandroid.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/Change-Page0.JPG
Now ,I do the change:
I replace you IGS with my own IGS(one page,one BOG,one button(auto_action = TRUE))
http://www.moandroid.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/M2TSError1.JPG
TS packet is :
http://www.moandroid.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/M2TS-Packet.JPG
Also I do not change the TS's time-code and PES's PTS/DTS .
But it does not work anymore? Where I am wrong? Give me some advice!
Thanks in advance!

Build 761:

* [x] Advanced subtitle processing is rewritten, so avs2bdnxml is no longer used. The algorithm is the same as goSUP and now advanced subtitles are created 5 to 20 times faster than before.

* 3 free-text labels added in MENU tab and in CUSTOM menu / TEMPLATES with options for font/color/outline/size and X/Y position:

http://multiAVCHD.deanbg.com/multiAVCHD_freetext.jpg

* New options for chapter thumbnail generation. It is now possible to select DIFFERENT time code to be used for chapter extraction. There is a new field in [PROPERTIES] (colored in blue), where you can set the time-code for the thumbnail. You can set it manually or using the [Chapter thumbnail] button, which is below the chapter list. If you click the BLUE box, multiAVCHD will preview the entered time-code.

http://multiAVCHD.deanbg.com/multiAVCHD_chth.jpg

In the screenshot you can see that the first chapter points to 00:00:00.000, but for the menu, multiAVCHD will extract the frame (from the preview) at 00:00:10.101.

*.chp/*.txt

For example:

which for example will make chapter 3 to play from 00:00:50.000, use a chapter icon captured at 00:00:50.500 and use a chapter name "3 Water in Canyon".

Is this "JACKET" picture/info shows in any other player than Playstation 3?

Picture does not show in my Sony S360, only the title name.
This is what I see when I stop the Blu-ray player, which is why it will be nice to see the name of my disc, or whatever I choose. :)
I was just editing the xml file in the DL folder of the meta folder before, as you suggested a while back. And that does work fine, when I remember. :p

You can now set "Compilation name" and it should show in your BD player. No need to edit the xml manually. Right? :)
