Hi Dean,
I'm using 734 of today.
In my opinion the motion thumb is actually created right from the very beginning of the video, mostly the title of the video is shown.
If I remember right, then it was in earlier builds that you didn't use the first and the last 10% of the video to create motion thumbs, right?
The background is created as it was earlier.
Any possibility to change back as it was?
Best regards
Puki

You remember wrong. It is as it was before and as it always was - 00:00:15.000 - 00:00:47.320.

Thanks Dean for your statement! My hair is much more grey than yours, so please accept my appology ;)
BTW: I've just got this error (see attachment) when pressing "<<<" on menu preview (last title, I wanted to go to the last but one), then multiAVCHD crashed...

I managed to get this error only once and never again. I think it has something to do with the available memory or something. Can you find a way to get it each time you do what you do?
"Scrolling" thru titles is done always the same way, no matter if you're at the first title, browsing to the last with <<< or you're at the last browsing to the first one with >>>. Just to be sure, use multiUPDATE.exe to get the last build.
May be it happens if the program loses focus... I really don't know.

Right now I'm creating a huge compilation over the night, so I come back tomorrow.
Do you can give me any hint for using DVB-HD files? I'm getting massive probs, probably because changing of audio (the files aren't perfect cut, so some minutes of the movie before and after are within the file) and / or that *#$%!-teletext-streams...
I've got lots of errors like
[22:44:11] Important files missing (clpi/mpls/m2ts)...
[22:44:11] Possible tsMuxeR failure to process your input file (Z:\Dreambox HD\Akte X - Jenseits der Wahrheit (HD).ts).

[22:44:11] CLPI (clipinfo) file count: 0
[22:44:11] MPLS (playlist) file count: 0
It's not urgent, because I will let my PC work through the night...

The only way to troubleshoot such errors is to send me a sample of the file... Or load it in tsmuxerGUI and process it - it will report the error :)

There was this glitch with SLIDE menu: Motion title thumbnail reflection will stuck after 10 seconds and won't actually reflect the main title thumbnail video for the remaining 22 seconds of menu video. It was just fixed.

How can I send such a large file to you? Please tell me how to cut it that it is not crippeled by cutting ;)
Unfortunately tsMuxeRGUI shows error on loading such a file:
- I have used the exact same options as multiAVCHD shows in the log (MUXOPT --no-pcr-on-video-pid --new-audio-pes --blu-ray --vbr etc.)
- on loading a (problematic) DVB-HD-ts-file tsMuxeRGUI shows an error:
Unsupported format
Some tracks not recognized. This track was ignored. File name: Z:\Dreambox HD\Akte X - Jenseits der Wahrheit (HD).ts"
-BUT when clicking the error away then the file IS recognized (sometimes only the video-stream, sometimes video- and audio-stream) and I can process it with tsMuxeRGUI...

The error you get is probably because of unrecognized dvb/teletext subtitle stream. I'll need a log from multiAVCHD which shows the actual meta file parsed to tsMuxeR. The problem can be replicated when you use the exact same meta file.

I'm really wondering why multiAVCHD lets tsMuxeR recognize the audio-stream while the tsMuxeRGUI doesn't...
BTW: I have removed in title properties the second audio stream and the teletext-stream before starting multiAVCHD.
If you want I will do any test you want ;)

multiAVCHD parses to tsMuxeR a meta with everything which is detected and should be processed by tsMuxeR. For some reason tsMuxeR won't accept the audio track (it is not a fault in multiAVCHD).
I guess it is a result of some editing of the file (cutting??) which broke the AC3 stream at the worst possible packet (as a header packet).
The editor software is to take the blame (you used one). Does it happen with raw unprocessed files from your DV recorder?
Puki

The file I've used in this case is exact the file as it was recorded by my dreambox.
I took the .ts-file and got the result.
This file contained (according to title properties) two audio-streams and a teletext-stream.
I just started tsMuxeR right now again (without GUI, what's new for me) and tsMuxeR accepted the file with the meta just copied out of the multiAVCHD-log, BUT:
C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\Puki\Desktop\PS3\TSMuxer>tsmuxer meta.txt Z:\test.ts

Reading buffer overflow. Possible container streams are not syncronized. Please, verify stream fps. File name: Z:\Dreambox HD\Akte X - Jenseits der Wahrheit (HD).ts
So this seems to be the reason. I think these 6,4% are according to the time between "Media split set..." and "Important files missing..." in the log.
Do you have any hint how to avoid this buffer overflow?
Sorry for these questions in the middle of the night - just say good night and I can go to bed :D

So there were these users crying and dying for avisynth (avs) file import support in multiAVCHD for the last year and since I added it few weeks ago I got zero feedback about it.
Saying this I was wondering if it deserves the time to publish (and troubleshoot) something I prepared last summer (as a standalone parser multiEDIT) which allows *full* customization of the authored menu pages. Since multiAVCHD got the "Custom menu templates" it is easier to integrate it than using it as a separate application.
It is an AviSynth script, which a user can load and override multiAVCHD menu scripts.
It supports macro commands/names to let the user access current title thumbnail/video/chapter images and previous 3 and the next 3 menu pages.
It supports loading external avisynth plug-ins, images, videos, anything one may decide.
Macro tags like:
[PRE] (puts next avs script commands before all multiAVCHD generated ones)
[IGNORE] (ignores all multiAVCHD script lines until it reaches EOF or [POST]
[POST] (adds lines after multiAVCHD's lines of code for menu generation)
[$file_name$] - any file residing in the same folder as the script (usually the template_pack folder)
[CTSB] - Current title static background file
[CTMB] - Current title motion background file
[CTM3] - Thumbnail of title#-3
[CTM2] - Thumbnail of title#-2
[CTM1] - Thumbnail of title#-1
[CTST] - Current title static title thumbnail file
[CTMT] - Current title motion title thumbnail file
[CTP1] - Thumbnail of title#+1
[CTP2] - Thumbnail of title#+2
[CTP3] - Thumbnail of title#+3
[TI-T001-C00] - [TI-T252-C96] - Chapter or title thumbnail image from any title 1-252 and chapter 1-96. (C00 = title thumbnail image) - direct selection
[TI-TPM3-C00] - Chapter or title thumbnail image from relative title (-3) and chapter 1-96.
[TI-TPM2-C00] - Chapter or title thumbnail image from relative title (-2) and chapter 1-96.
[TI-TPM1-C00] - Chapter or title thumbnail image from relative title (-1) and chapter 1-96.
[TI-T000-C00] - [TI-T000-C96] - Chapter or title thumbnail image from current title and chapter 1-96. (C00 = title thumbnail image)
[TI-TPP1-C00] - Chapter or title thumbnail image from relative title (+1) and chapter 1-96.
[TI-TPP2-C00] - Chapter or title thumbnail image from relative title (+2) and chapter 1-96.
[TI-TPP3-C00] - Chapter or title thumbnail image from relative title (+3) and chapter 1-96.
[CTN] - Current title
[LTN] - Last title
[CTC] - Current title chapter thumbnail count
(which means that you can use [$[CTMB]$] in your avisynth script and use multiAVCHD generated motion background for the current title or [$my_video.m2ts$] to use your own....)
There are a lot of other macro tags for title names, duration or any other property of a title, too.
Such 'menu programming' allows full customization. I have no idea how many users may find it useful, but I'll put it on hold before I get feedback.
Using this feature (added as a tab in the [more] -> custom menu templates box as User AviSynth script) allows creation of any number of different menu styles/visions (based on XMB/Slide) - (I have 4 menus in store, being not really creative design-wise).

I'm interrested to view and test your MultiEdit.
If I understand well, it provide more easy possibilities for Custom menu creation (like a previous our discusion about Menu Editor ?) :)

Yes, it allows you to completely override multiAVCHD's menu page and replace it with your own, using the available resources as title names, thumbnails, chapters, duration, audio and subtitle information, etc.
multiEDIT will not be published anyway, but the tab AviSynth in Menu tab or in the template window will be used.
I'll publish the full set of macro commands available plus example scripts soon.

Hi Dean,
after having finished my DVB-HD-compilation there was a last surprise:
all motion backgrounds and motion thumbs have a DivX Video-logo in the right lower corner...
I wonder why? Do you have any idea?
If you have any suggestions (options / what to install and what not etc.), then I promise to build a new VM-Ware XP pro from scratch only for multiAVCHD :)
BTW: the titles, where tsmuxer199.exe failed / hung (?) there were non-motion thumbs on a motion background.
Best regards

DivX logo is a setting somewhere in the DivX codec. I just replaced all my codecs with ffdshow.

Hi, Dean,
Thanks again for this great tool! Here's a few usability issues I have with v4. Can you please look at them?
there's one thing I miss with introducion of v4: in pre v4, I was typically using the simplest menu (as it was produced in shortest time). In v4, if I deselect "Create top menu" I get a new (still simple) grid menu but with characters far too small to see. Can you please reintroduce the simple menu from v3 and increase character size of the grid menu?
Also, the items in the new pop-up menu are indicated using thin red underline that is not very easy too see. Can you just make it a bit thicker?
I also have a feature request: it would be great to have quick access to information about movies, episodes from IMDB and the like. I'm referring to what is available in XBMC or what is provided in the "Movie Info plugin" for PS3MediaServer (http://ps3mediaserver.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=2126).
Thanks, G

Here is what I can do... There is (will be) this additional option to create a hybrid title list menu (sort of a combination between what previously was CLASSIC (list) and THUMBNAIL menu styles in version 3.0):
http://multiavchd.deanbg.com/multiAVCHD_classic_TLM.jpg
It is almost ready and probably later today I'll publish the updated build.

Does anyone have a recommended workflow from Adobe Premiere to multiAVCHD?
I'm editing Sony camcorder AVCHD files in Premiere CS4 and using its Media Encoder to create H.264 mp4 files that I import into multiAVCHD to create Blu-ray file structures. This process works well except that I have to manually create the chapter points in multiAVCHD--the chapter markers in Premiere don't carry across. I tried tsdemux, but apparently the chapter markers are not included in the mp4 file. I haven't found a way to export just the chapter markers from Premiere in an XML file yet.

Reading the FAQ (http://help.adobe.com/en_US/PremierePro/4.0/WSB90E08AC-8994-4070-A1A1-BA560E5EDA4A.html)shows that the only way you may get a XML is if you export to Adobe Flash. I have no idea what the XML format would be. Otherwise there is no other way to export chapters from Premiere.

Few new things (along with the classic title-list menu):
* multiAVCHD will try to use non-black thumbnails for the TITLE-LIST menu tile-background
* Option to [x] Prompt to import pictures for slide-show... I find it annoying to answer each time with [no] :)
* Three options for x264 custom parameters for 1-pass profiles (One pass) and for 2-pass profiles (Pass One and Pass Two).
http://multiAVCHD.deanbg.com/multiAVCHD_settings_2.jpg
Should you set your custom parameters, they'll be added at the end of the command line and will override multiAVCHD's settings. You'll see a note in the log:
[16:53:36] *** Initiating video encoding:
[16:53:36] *** Original : 720x480
[16:53:36] *** Crop : 0
[16:53:36] *** Resize : 720x480 (No change)
[16:53:36] *** Uncrop to : 720x480
[16:53:36] *** Sharpen : 0
[16:53:36] *** Bitrate : 6477 kbps
[16:53:36] *** Level : 3
[16:53:36] *** Quality : One pass (insane)
[16:53:36] *** SAR : 40:33
[16:53:36] *** DAR : 853x480
[16:53:36] *** Profile : Blu-ray

[16:54:29] *** Speed : 27.17 fps (elapsed: 00:00:52 - Realtime x 1.13)
[16:54:29] *** Transcoding successful!
I remember that a lot of people asked for it.
If you use custom encoding settings and the output doesn't work, don't report it here (or anywhere) as a bug.

Hi Dean,
When i make a compilation with multiavhd, and burn it to a BD-r with imgburn using the option in multiavchd, does this work for all AVCHD or ANY Blu ray player?

It depends on the output mode you select when you click "START". It should work in most players... For some reason v4 doesn't really work in samsung players... although there is only one or two reports and I'm not sure.

Yes, thats what i meant, so to make things short,
it works on players that have and dont have AVCHD, but there are some minor issues with samsung players, but these issues arent really verified,
well thnx for letting me know, keep up the good work.

There was a bug with 'audio' selection in the SETUP menu, because of the background audio. It is removed (no bg audio when SETUP menu shows) and audio-change is applied properly now.
You have to manually update with multiUPDATE.exe.

Just a idea for this bug.
IF you duplicate BG audio (create 2 audio track), I think that audio selection works correctly.
It's use more data space but it's a easy way.
If the bug is linked to that the subtitles selection may have the same bug ?

No, subtitles don't have this problem. And yes I don't want to do it because it takes a lot of space. The problem is that each page (main/setup/chapters) must have the exact number of audio and subtitle tracks as the main movie. It makes static pages occupy 3-6 MBs and that's a lot. I'll think about it again.
edit: ok, i restored the sound in all menus and audio selection works fine... make sure your .exe has a timestamp of :11 mins

A quick fix... When using only title-list menu all thumbnails were black... It is okay now. Thanks to Dolsen for the report.

Also the GUI should fit in 1280x768 or 1280x720 laptop displays:

Program window is 1206x694.

One important addition: [Alter detected properties] button in "Title properties" is now available. It allows you to change some of the clip properties and override multiAVCHD detected ones.
http://multiAVCHD.deanbg.com/multiAVCHD_alter.jpg
multiAVCHD should now properly detect Bottom-field first (BFF) interlaced sources. Should it fail, user can manually set "Interlaced BFF" setting.
Now TomsMoComp deinterlace filter is used for BFF interlaced sources. I gave it a try and it seems to work pretty good.

Two requests fulfilled:
@drelin:
For compilations with one title only (One-title menu):
* Vertical menu (XMB): UP and DOWN are no longer reserved. UP will go to CHAPTERS, DOWN will go to SETUP
* Horizontal menu (Slide/Carousel): LEFT will go to CHAPTERS, RIGHT will go to SETUP
and @Sydon777
In "Classic/list" title-list menu: LEFT and RIGHT will show PREVIOUS/NEXT title-list page.

There's something I'm just not understanding about creating chapter thumbnails. Here's what I want to do. Manually create chapter points at points along the time line. However I want to choose a thumbnail from different frame on the timeline to use in the chapter menu. I thought I should be able to select a chapter point from the Chapters list; move the current time marker on the timeline to view the frame I want to use as the thumbnail; and then link the chapter thumbnail to that frame.
How is it done?
deank

Chapter marks define the thumbnails used in the menu. They are linked, not fully independent.

Hi Dean! Thanks for the updates
Question: It's possible to make the option "Subtitles OFF" don't disappear when I chose full transparency for Setup Menu? I'm using some of Drelin's custom menu templates and want to make Setup menu with full transparency, but when I turn the transparency to 100%, the option "Subtitles OFF" disappears...
The movie has 2 audio tracks and just 1 sub.
Thanks!

It disappears, because the LABEL is deleted.

i just converted 12 files from my sony hd cam corder the they were in avchd format and i want to play them on my toshiba hd a2 player so i loaded the files and saved as hd-dvd....i now have a folder that says hd dvd,,,but how do i burn them to dvd? thanks
deank

Read the log carefully!
You need to burn these folders:
ADV_OBJ
HDDVD_TS
VIDEO_TS
You'll find them under your AVCHD_something\[HD-DVD]\movie_name\.
You can have ONE video per disc. You can't have 12 in one compilation.

Hum... so that's the reason!
I'll fill the words in label to some empty spaces and try to trick the software...
Thanks!

I don't see what is to be tricked here...
You have an option in MENU/Buttons... to change each LABEL like "Subtitles OFF". This is when you import a new file for a new compilation.
If you import an older compilation then all pages have all set (like with templates) and then you go to TITLE PROPERTIES and click the [MORE] button to change the template -> again "Buttons.." sub-tab.
The program does what user sets.

It doesn't work for me! I've tried all possible combinations, and even with all labels and words in "Menu buttons" guide, the result is the same: when in full setup transparency, the labels insist in disappearing. Where I'm going wrong? I made some images to ilustrate my doubt:
This is what happen when I leave Setup menu with some transparency:
http://img18.imageshack.us/img18/327/01withouttransparency.jpg (http://img18.imageshack.us/i/01withouttransparency.jpg/)
And this is what happens in Setup menu with full transparency:
http://img31.imageshack.us/img31/9974/02withfulltransparency.jpg (http://img31.imageshack.us/i/02withfulltransparency.jpg/)
I wanna know if it's possible:
- Leave full transparency (without grey square)
- None text (blank) in "Setup Header"
- Audio tracks, Subs tracks, and "Subtitle OFF" label appearing in Setup menu.
Sorry for the inconvenience! I know that must be hard and a "pain in the ass" to respond every single post in here. This is not a big problem to me, and I can live with it ;)
EDIT: Found it! For some reason, the labels in "Custom Menu page" (properties) was with some conflict with labels in "Default menu page". I just config the Setup Menu Page in custom AND default with 100% transparency and voilá! And to make the Setup header "Audio and subtitle setup" disappear, I changed the words for and empty space (just in "Custom Menu page").
EDIT2: Dean has updated multiAVCHD. Thanks, Dean!
