Has anyone had problems with Samsung BD players recognising discs with the latest versions?
I like creating 720p/1080p trailers on DVD/BD-RE from downloaded trailers. I convert the trailers to BD format using ripbot then import them into multiavchd for the menu. I did a disc in January the DVD worked fine with a Samsung BDP 1500. I have done another disc on both DVD and BD and now the same player does nothing. I saids menu on the player but nothing on the screen and then it stops the disc.
The strange thing is I tried the same discs in a Sony S350 and they all work.
Try:
1) Disable [-] Stricter AVCHD folder format option in Settings (or enable if disabled)
2) Use [AVCHD for DVD/BD-R] button for DVD or better [Blu-ray for BD-R] if using BD-R/RE disc.

I don't use the stricter avchd option so I will try that. I have already used both compile options.

If you are using 2.3 firmware BDMV/AUXDATA folder breaks playback.
If you are using 2.3 firmware BDMV/AUXDATA folder breaks playback.
I assume you are talking about the Sammy. The player is still using the original UK firmware it always has.
That's why I posted few times (and there is a WARNING in the log tab) that without STRICTER option your player may refuse to play multiAVCHD's output.
If you're using ImgBurn - make sure it doesn't add CERTIFICATE for you. In 2.4.2.0 uncheck [-] Add AUDIO_TS and in later versions there should be similar option to not include CERTIFICATE.

Ya samsung 1500.
That's why I posted few times (and there is a WARNING in the log tab) that without STRICTER option your player may refuse to play multiAVCHD's output.
However it may be the opposite with Denon and Phillips players that need the AUXDATA directory. Unfortunately there is no one for sure working way yet.
It is not the folders only. Panasonics which refused to play without these folders now play fine, because mpls/clpi/bdmv files are what they're supposed to be and there should be no need to trick/use auxdata/certificate. Still no one with denon/philips reported anything.

Well, I never had to use the stricter option in the past and it worked.
I found about the certificate folder myself last year as I read it from wikipedia that it wasn't in the avchd folder structure.
A lot of options changed in multiAVCHD since january. You can post your log if you wish more help.

I asked the active Denon user on this board if he could test avchd_strict.iso
Hello Dean,
I've been following the thread for a while (and trying to keep up :thanks:), great program.
A really good feature would be to accept an elementary vc1 stream.
At the moment my workflow is to demux via eac3to as from what I've read it handles the multi branching titles better than others.
Then use tsmuxer to create a m2ts from the vc1 or if its an avc go directly to multiavchd.
I understand vc1 is not part of the avchd spec but as it works on a ps3 and a lot of bluray and hd dvd are encoded that way, it would be very useful.
If its not possible perhaps you could remove the warning messages when creating avchd for a ps3
Thanks
Simon
I added *.vc1 elementary streams support and the warning will be shown only when creating [AVCHD for DVD/BD-R] or [AVCHD for Panasonic SDHC/TV].
Update to 565+.

It would be nice that the setting "delete temp files"
a) remove only the files created during the process and not all files of the directory (I've just lost some files :(, not very important, but anyway...)
b) delete also the empty directories created.
a) You need to set a TEMP folder to be used ESPECIALLY by multiAVCHD
b) Delete temp deletes TEMP files... that's it...
If I could have made it delete folders I would have done it.
* late edit * I'm reviewing all the 11000 lines of multiAVCHD code to find what's preventing folder deletion. It was bothered me since the beginning anyway.
Just to let all users who may get "This version is expired" message.
You shouldn't tweak your system date/time. Each mutliAVCHD build will only work within specific time-range (random +/- few weeks), based on the REAL DATE. If you have the latest full download/latest (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=143744) update and you're part of our universe - it will all work. I've seen a lot of messages in various forums that their latest multiAVCHD build won't work - well - it won't if you cheat.
Another reminder: Download (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=143744)multiAVCHD only from the links in the first (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=143744)post, from Softpedia, DigitalDigest or VideoHelp (http://www.videohelp.com/tools/multiAVCHD)(thanks to whoever cares for all the updates@videohelp).
deank Thank you very much for your program. I never thought possible to play HD video from a SDHC card with Panasonic BD-30. I appreciate all your work.
One question please if i may. Is DTS audio supported? I have been successful with AC3 and either 1280X720 or 1920X1080 video but have not had chance to test DTS from dvd+r or dvd+r dl
is DTS and DTS HD audio's supported via AVCHD folder output? or it must be downmixed to 640 kbps ac3?
Yes, a lot of people reported that DTS and DTS-MA work in their Panasonic BD players via SD card.
SeeMoreDigital posted (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=1280784#post1280784): Here's something unexpected....
I created some AVCHD SD card muxes with 6Ch DD+, 6Ch DTS and 8Ch DTS MA. The all play fine on my BD35 and push the correct audio bit-stream via HDMI to my Onkyo amplifier
Very impressive!
I don't know if BD30 is so much different than BD30 - just give it a try.
Build 566:
I decided to share with you an undocumented function of multiAVCHD :)
* If you don't need a menu
* If your video files don't need the fix of the green-bar (i.e. your files are 720x480, 720x576, 1280x720, 1440x1080 or 1920x1080)
* If you enable [x] Panasonic SDHC ouput
you can put up to 255 titles in one compilation.
Output is directly compatible with Panasonic BD players, Viera TV sets, Playstation 3 with USB, SDHC or MemoryStick card.
You can of course apply AVCHDme-undo (convert 8.3 filenames to long format) and burn the output BDMV folder to a DVD or BD-R disc and play it in any other Blu-ray player.
I hope someone finds it useful.
Dean
*** EDIT ***
in build 566+:
If you have [x] No menu checked and creating Panasonic output - filenames will be in 8.3 format - suitable for SDHC/USB/MS (the way it was working before)
If you have [x] Create top menu checked and creating Panasonic output - you'll get a pop-up question if you want to use long-filenames (for burning to DVD/BD-R) or use 8.3 name format. (it is useful if you're creating 40+ titles to play in blu-ray players via optical media - it will save you the time to rename all files with other tools from 8.3 to long filenames).
The second case is the same as having another button saying [AVCHD for DVD/BD-R without menu in case of 41 to 255 titles]
In both cases - menu is skipped and not created, but you already know that.
Few things in store for you :)
* 19 pages for Classic (list) menu (18 pages x 14 titles + 3 = 255 titles max)
* 37 pages (x 7 titles) for Thumbnail menu (36 pages x 7 titles + 3 = 255 titles max)
* 255 scrollable titles in XMB (with "skip 10" button - as suggested by zoner for faster scrolling)
* Carousel styled menu (designed by Atak_Snajpera)
* Thumbnails for chapters/title backgrounds will be saved in output folder and adding titles to existing structure will take seconds instead of 20-30 mins. I got kind of tired waiting for 1 title addition to 20 existing. It was in my plans since I added this 'poster image" (unavailable) option.

How about clips with many chapters?
It would be really nice if a disk with just a movie would use a scene selection like menu as root.
Once I'm finished with Carousel menu, chapter thumbnails will be available for XMB also, scrollable (left/right) and will not be limited to 12, but to as many as movie contains.

Great. thanks man.:)
As tests proved - max title count is 254.
I'm ready to release next build with full support of 254 titles in all modes (not Panasonic only).
I completely rewrote some code. Still classic/list and thumbnail menu type are restricted. XMB styled menu can have 254 scrollable titles (no 10+ skip button yet).
If you want to test the new version you'll need DAT update + build update or full download.
Dean
build 567+: Max title count is 252. Title editor will show 1-252 titles in 9 screens for title-name editing.

Hey Dean, can you check if something went wrong with the "Force subtitle track #1" option in the latest build? I've just done a full download and install of the latest build and just remuxed a new TV episode in AVCHD USB mode with subtitles using the "Force" option (as I do every second day...) - and the subtitles weren't forced, I had to enable them manually on the PS3...
Hmmm.
Best,
Gero
Build 569
* Few bugs fixed
* Log output changed
* Warning if importing/processing more than 252 titles
***
I'll try to adapt the oldest menu (list/classic) to 28+ titles. I'm glad to say that my tests with 'backed-up' title backgrounds+chapters works fine and I'll add it in some of the next builds. It will affect only XMB-styled menu,
I tried another disc in the Samsung 1500 and still the same. I burned just the bdmv and no certificate folder.
I looked at the log only just noticed this bit "Error while creating top menu pages!" . The disc still works ok in the Sony 350.
So I downloaded the whole program and reinstalled avisynth again and this time no menu error. This is the second time something has gone wrong with the menu generation and a complete reinstall fixed it.
I won't know it works until I get access to the Samsung player again.
This is the old log.

I'm glad to say that build 570 is ready.
multiAVCHD.exe got smaller and faster, multiAVCHD.dat is half the size it was before.
* Classic (list) menu can now have 18 pages
* Thumbnail menu can have 36 pages
* Few bugfixes
[LEFT] [RIGHT] will move you through the pages for faster browsing. (only forward move in Classic menu)
Speed (without the time needed to convert titles to AVCHD)
252 titles are processed:
* in about 8 minutes if no menu is generated (only playlist processing)
* in about 10 minutes in Classic-menu mode and 18 menu pages are generated
* in about 14 minutes in Thumbnail-menu mode and 36 menu pages are generated
* in about 38 minutes in XMB-menu mode and 252 menu pages are generated (without chapter-thumbnails)
Space: 252 titles require about 130MB for menu pages.
All limits are now lifted. The only thing left is 12-chapter thumbnail restriction.
Next thing that will be changed are the thumbnails for XMB (saved for later use).

It is good to leave it to 001.

OK, thanks.
Here are my tests with the maximum supported title count and the latest (570) build:
Speed (without the time needed to convert titles to AVCHD)
252 titles are processed:
* in about 8 minutes if no menu is generated (only playlist processing)
* in about 10 minutes in Classic-menu mode and 18 menu pages are generated
* in about 14 minutes in Thumbnail-menu mode and 36 menu pages are generated
* in about 38 minutes in XMB-menu mode and 252 menu pages are generated (without chapter-thumbnails)
Space: 252 titles require about 130MB disc space for menu pages.

A tiny-bit change in interface for Author tab:
http://multiavchd.deanbg.com/multiavchd_author.jpg
Playback sequence group now orders events more logically according to playback timeline.

I have noticed the speed increase with menu generation. It was about 3 times faster on my system.
It would be really good if it was possible to save projects and retain things like menu text from the editor.

Few updates (you'll get them with multiUPDATE):
* Added MPL playlist import (for mts join mode)
* Fixed Panasonic compatible output if importing MPL/MPLS (chapters were present sometimes).
Be advised that MPL works only in tsMuxeR 1.10.3 but MPLS import is broken in 1.10.3. MPLS import works in 1.9.9.
I've seen some posts in some forums about problems with multiAVCHD - never change the version of tsMuxeR provided in multiAVCHD's tools folder!

I know this comment relates a bit to the popBD issue i raised - but does the MPL/MPLS panasonic fix mean that the issue i raised with forcing a spanned disk in multiAVCHD by seperating the m2ts generated across 2 disks could now be resolved? Or is this something different.
Great to see so many fine features added to multiAVCHD.

No, it is not related to your problem.
Did you update your *complete* multiAVCHD package with the latest popBD? If not (or not for a long time) I suggest you to download it now and try with your spanned discs.
I did few tests and all seems to be fine with popBD (if you not alter its output in any way).

Build 571:
Output buttons replaced with "Start" and new pop-up window added:
http://multiavchd.deanbg.com/multiAVCHD_output.jpg
Author tab is changed again.
multiAVCHD.exe is getting smaller again.
These changes make things more intuitive with one final decision about output type.
You will have to remove/edit the language file (if you're using one).

Hi dean,
I tried to import playlist mpl file from my camera and I got the following error:

[16:47:14] No compatible input from (C:\TTTT\test\AVCHD\BDMV\PLAYLIST\00000.MPL). Skipping it...

Why tsMuxeR doesnt like playlist from my camera?

Take a look just few posts up: #2589.
You'll need to have multiAVCHD "unpacked" in the root folder of a drive, for example D:\multiAVCHD and not use any special characters in folder names.
"Error obtaining info" means that multiAVCHD cannot launch tsMuxeR.
If all is okay you'll see 3 lines in BLUE in the LOG screen when you launch multiAVCHD:
[18:05:27] This multiAVCHD build uses:
[18:05:27] SmartLabs tsMuxeR. Version 1.10.3 http://www.smlabs.net
[18:05:27] multiAVCHD.dat version: [02060570]

Just don't use non-ASCII symbols for your multiAVCHD folder path and not too many subfolders.
In MPL/mpls mode multiAVCHD calls tsmuxer via "cmd.exe" and it doesn't work with deep paths.
I have 1 instance of multiavchd in
D:\multiAVCHD\multiAVCHD.exe
and one on my desktop and the second one won't work with MPL files.
Just put the FOLDER "multiAVCHD" in the root folder, not the files.

tsMuxeR is updated to 10.4 and now both MPL and mpls playlist import works. Thanks to Roman. I suggest all to download the COMPLETE setup.
I got the same error. I have my multiavchd in program files and I also don't have any programs working from the root.

This problem is now fixed in build 572.
Also Lumix AVCHD lite input is now recognized + few changes in start pop-up window.
MPL and mpls playlist import now work fine (if you have the full download or updated tsMuxeR to 1.10.4).

Thanx:)
Now it works well, there is no need to put multiAVCHD in root.
But there is another problem... The audio of movie goes faster than video ca. 1.5 second and this delay increases with the time of movie... Is there some solution for that?

Such async means audio/video FPS difference (or a problem @ the "glue" points"). I think tsdemux handles audio delays properly, but still - is there a chance to upload a structure and send me an email with a link?
I tried mpls import with over 20 mts files and there was no audio/video sync problems (I used tsmuxer's split mts in 1 mpls, canon camcoder input and HDC panasonic camcoder input).
**
When you process MPL/mpls don't use Panasonic output - just regular AVCHD for PS3 or for DVD. What output mode did you use and what player for testing?
