I'm just creating my latest complication and I wondered if its possible to move the thumbnails in the default "thumbnail menu" - with 3 titles they look a bit unbalanced with 2 on top then one to the left on the bottom?

I'd suggest to you to use XMB when you have less than 7 titles.

I posted about 10 times about background audio for the menu. If it was possible, I would've added it months ago. When I find a way - I will add such option.
I removed 'pop-up menu' option as I removed "Panasonic SDHC" option some time ago, because there was no space in the GUI (especially for an option not working). Once I implement it - it will appear again.
Dean
It's clear.
I don't see the post about audio background, sorry if you must repeat same thing another time.
For the other option, it's just to know the advancement of you plan.
I make suggestion only, I support your job and take with interrest any new feature added.
Thank for the answer.

Just to put you all up to speed with things I'll be working on the next few days:
* Implementing "Add chapters" in title preview
* Option to add a file for custom Welcome screen
* Changes in THM menu
* Initiate 'carousel menu' tests
If there is anyone reading with some free time (in my time zone GMT+2 / +/- 5hrs) and willing to spend time in testing with (sometimes not working) test builds of multiAVCHD - drop a note (PM or via skype).

Hi Deank, I just compiled an avchd with 33 titles but the time length of one of them were shown 13:15 iso original 1:45 and it hanged at the end of the movie when I play it. Is there any workaround to change the time back to original. Thank you.

Hi Dean,
that's my first post in this forum. I came across this great program a few weeks ago and I must say congratulations to your excellent work!
I do work with Pinnacle Studio 12 Plus to create AVCHD and BDMV output. For playback on a Panasonic BD-60 I intend to use its SDHC slot. To put the Pinnacle AVCHD output structure on a FAT32 SDHC it is sufficient to bring the files into 8.3 filename structure if you have .m2ts files which are below 4GiB.
However if the .m2ts are bigger than 4GiB I want to use multiAVCHD build 603 and set the split-point to 3999MiB in the muxer tab.
When selecting the input files through the "AVCHD/BDMV/DVD" button it seem to work fine with multiAVCHD but it does not split the .m2ts output file at the desired size. There is just one stream generated that has the original size of the input file (in my case 4,7GiB) and I'm not able to copy it to a SDHC card.
The same is true for BDMV folders but it works without any issue for DVD folders.
Any idea what may go wrong here?
Thanks

I do not understand what happened exactly.

1) Enable [x] Prompt to import playlists (in Settings)
2) Drag your folder to multiAVCHD
3) "Would you like to import individual playlists?" message will appear
4) Click yes and select the correct MPL/mpls file
You will see the imported playlist in Media tab, identified by [f]. If it is [p] or [m] - split will not be applied.

A question about understanding setting "Frame to encode" in Visual settings on Menu Tab.
What is the result with differents values lower and high (2-30s) in playback.
I ask you because I remark in playback (on standalone and PDVD) a delay for access to button navigation each change page menu displayed.
Depending the settings I'll be able to optimate the delay access navigation with my players (PS3 and Sony S350).

The option is left for compatibility reasons. The lowest is the value - the better. You need to experiment with its values, starting from 2 frames (lowest value). If it works in your player - leave it to 2 - if not - set it to 10 and try again.
Values of 4-6-8 should work for most people.

A small update in 603+:
* Fixed import of "Welcome screens" (the program fragment was deleted by accident in some of the previous builds) - multiAVCHD will prompt if you want to import the welcome screen from a previous compilation (if 01400.*** are found in it)
* Fixed navigation placeholders for Classic and Thumbnail menu - nav arrow won't show in software players if you're using the mouse.
Dean

dean, about your working with TS: try to extract the subtitles from your TS with CCExtractorGUI (http://freshmeat.net/projects/ccextractor). The OCR is not so good. Also I saw that you posted in the BDSup2Sub thread about this type of subtitles and the author can't do much at this moment. Tell him also about this program maybe he can find how to implement in his program loading of CC (teletext) subtitles from TS stream. I think the CC subtitles are only used on MPEG2 video. Timmings in CC subtitles are not so good as usual subtitles.
If you are working on TS caps also you can test the program MPEG2Repair (http://www.videohelp.com/tools/MPEG2Repair).
enjoy,

I should have posted my problem here instead of there:

Here I have the feeling, that Deank's tools could do what I need: For the start I would need an easy transcoding workflow (with tools and sample avs, etc.) for Xvid streams recorded with Total Recorder Video Add-on 7.1. Next there would be WVC1 recordings and DVB S2 h.264 TS recordings waiting in the queue.
The Xvid AVI recordings have the following stream properties:
Video properties: 844x476 pixels (cropped 16/9), 30fps
(ffdshow Xvid is I-frame only for frame-accurate editing in VirtualDub)
Audio properties: 16 bit 48 kHz; PCM (Xvid recordings)
A short example "TR_Xvid_Test1.avi" (4084 KB) can be found here (http://rapidshare.com/files/234024064/TR_Xvid_Test1.zip) at RapidShare.
There are loads of infos for how to transcode starting with VOBs from DVDs but not much for my Xvid AVI source footage.
I already made a test with uncropMKV but it seems to dislike my Vista environment and stops almost instantly after input of "TR_Xvid_Test1.avi" without producing the expected mkv which I would like to feed into multiAVCHD. It worked well in freshly installed Windows 7 environment, though. But I would need it running in my Vista where I have all the applications which I need for my hobby.
At some stage of the workflow I would like to enter chapters and maybe get multiAVCHD to provide a main menu and a chapter menu.
I posted my dream list some time ago as feature request for tsMuxeR in http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=1209930#post1209930.
I hope uncropMKV and multiAVCHD will become milestones on that roadmap.

Cela
Edit - Now it works! :)
Simple Xvid to multiAVCHD workflow - uncropMKV and multiAVCHD do the job:
1. Feed Xvid.avi into uncropMKV, set Resize to 720 x 480 or 1280 x 720. You will get an ...uncropped.mkv
2. Feed this into multiAVCHD, add the chapters, and there you are! !
If you have problems running these programs in Vista get your codecs straight!
Because I really wanted to make it work, I followed exactly Dean's checklist:
1) Reboot your computer
2) Completely uninstall K-LITE codecs
3) Reboot your computer
4) Completely uninstall AviSynth and Matroska splitter
5) Reboot your computer
6) Try to play any AVI or MKV file
7) If they STILL PLAY - there is a BIG problem because there must be another Directshow filter/codec installed (may play in Nero and PowerDVD which bring their own internal codecs)
8) If nothing plays - go to 9)
9) Download FFDSHOW from the link I posted in uncropMKV thread
10) Install Avisynth and matroska splitter (Haali)
11) Restart
12) Install ffdshow with Avisynth support (and do not enable ANY pre-post processing options)
13) Go to Start/Programs/Avisynth 2.5/Example scripts and try to play Version.avs with Media player Classic or Windows Media Player
14) Try uncropMKV again
(In addition to Dean's checklist I uninstalled MKVToolnix which I had on my computer from earlier tests.)
Now the first milestone of my roadmap is reached.
Next goals will be title menus and chapter menus. ;)
And do not forget do DONATE to keep Dean motivated to carry on with his excellent jobs!

Using different versions makes it harder to detect/correct bugs.

You wrote :

The error appears if a DVD-ROM drive use a Windows letter location created before a HDD partition letter.
In my case : D letter is selected to DVD-RW drive and the first data HDD partition (other that C Windows) is E.
Just after change in Windows Manager Disk the letter selection to all HDD partitions before the 1st DVD-ROM drive, the error massage not appears and multiavchd works fine.
If other user have the same error, This solution is a good issue.

For tips on multiavchd with multi titles (no chapter) for cosmetic rendering I use value = 0 for opacity of navigation button.
In this case each thumbnail for title correponding on "the button".

Few very important things to note:
1) Playstation3 plays 25fps 1280x544 in 576p (PAL PS3 firmware 2.76) - much better than in 480p
2) tsMuxeR 1.10.x cannot produce subtitles (SRT-SUP) for 1280x xxx @ 25fps - they are not showing at all (in any player).
3) I lost an hour wondering what is wrong
4) Using tsMuxeR 1.9.9 fixed all
I'll revert tsMuxeR in multiAVCHD package to an earlier version until Roman fixes this issue.
The difference between tsmuxer versions 1.9.9 and 1.10.4+ affecting multiAVCHD, is tsmuxer's inability to process .MPL playlists in m2ts join mode (i.e. input from camcodes or in other rare and uncommon cases).

Has anyone had problems with Samsung BD players recognising discs with the latest versions?
I like creating 720p/1080p trailers on DVD/BD-RE from downloaded trailers. I convert the trailers to BD format using ripbot then import them into multiavchd for the menu. I did a disc in January the DVD worked fine with a Samsung BDP 1500. I have done another disc on both DVD and BD and now the same player does nothing. I saids menu on the player but nothing on the screen and then it stops the disc.
The strange thing is I tried the same discs in a Sony S350 and they all work.
I have a BD-P2500 and as long as the strict avchd box is checked everything plays with no problems.

The message refers to a wrong path. I suggest you delete multiAVCHD.ini in the program folder and start again. You only will loose your settings, but it should work.
The best way for me in case of errors always was to do a full download of the last build and start clean.

A quick note for 604+:
* Fixed some minor bugs which may cause the error nwg reported
* Added "COLOR" for xmb thumbnail border in XMB section of Author tab.
* Extended support for DVR TRP files - most should work now
* Fixed a problem with multiple AAC/MPEG audio tracks in the same mts/trp/etc.. file - sometimes get overwritten or didn't show.

Try to update your multiAVCHD with multiUPDATE.
You can remove your .ini file just to be sure it's not it.
And I hope you're not opening DVD from an optical (read only) disc.

Any way to have no chapters created at all? For example one has a set of titles in a compilation that all run 3-11 min each but you would not want to have a chapter at 5 min in any of the ones that run more than 5 min.
