How can I turn this option off or replace it?

Navigation sound = sound when you click < > up/down with your remote to change the selection.

You need to change "Background audio" in MENU/Advanced tab.

Please take a look at the options I gave to you.

Thanks, drelin. I know how navigation works. I do.

It is that with options NOT to have 'chapters' or 'setup' or 'title list' things are different. The way I implemented it it is working in ALL cases.

When you posted 'broken navigation' I thought that it is not working at all in some situations, but it is not the case. There is a hidden menu in multiAVCHD which I'll enable and it would let you decide what button to be activated in each occasion.

There are UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT neighbor settings for each button. I'll post about it this week.

Thank for your answer.

If I understand well, the "horizontal" / "vertical" navigation styles are not completely added. It is linked with a special menu (with options for each button navigation) hidden and not embedded yet.
If it's correct, it's great new. We can customize as we want the navigation for main menu.

Thank a lot :)

Time for build number change...

Build 735:

* Options to define UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT navigation for main menu. Same options available for templates in Templates window.

* User defined thumbnail->chapter links should work properly now. For each defined link you'll see a log message.

Example below is for a title with 24 chapters, 21 of the thumbnail links removed and first 3 set to chapters 2, 4 and 8. The final look of the chapter menu is: 3 icons for 3 chapter links.

[14:49:39] Authoring menu (PAL 24p).

Hi dean, ive got a question,

When iam using a blu ray disk, and use imgburn to burn a compilation, does it have to be 1280x720 or 1920x1080, or can it me e.g. 1920x980? will i produce a big black bar at the bottom when using a disk?

Compliant resolutions are 720x480, 720x576, 1280x720, 1440x1080 and 1920x1080 - nothing else. Different player do different things. One will show black bar, other will stretch it. You shouldn't use such files.

Hi! I've been otherwise occupied for a bit.Btw I added this option to [alter detected properties] if a video. There is a checkbox to force a file as [HD-DVD compliant] if for some reason multiAVCHD can't detect it as such.

I've downloaded (4.0) Build 735.

Where do I find this checkbox and what is the exact wording?

**NEVER MIND - I LOCATED IT!**

@deank

1) Loaded an HDDVD-compatible .M2TS file into multiAVCHD ("Where the Wild Things Are" - Originally used BD-RB to create HDDVD-compatible compressed BluRay). multiAVCHD acknowledged it as being HDDVD-compliant. Closed multiAVCHD

2) Loaded the same file into tsMuxer and cut off the first second of the .M2TS file and resaved

3) Loaded same (cut) file into multiAVCHD - And it no longer "saw" the file as being HDDVD compatible

4) Entered checkmark next to "Alter detected properties", proceeded through remaining standard steps and then selected "HD-DVD compliant" and pressed "Start"

5) Upon scanning file, log indicated that it was "Already HDDVD compliant" - and completely processed in 17minutes

6) End result was a perfectly playing HDDVD ;>}

If I may ask, what prompted you to add this capability?

This looks like a way to do what I want to accomplish in post #4640 (http://forum.doom9.org/showpost.php?p=1379707&postcount=4640)

That is, I could create a chapter point where I want play to begin; create a chapter point on the timeline at the point that I want to use as a thumbnail for that chapter; link the thumbnail to the chapter beginning and only use thumbnails that are linked. Correct? or am I confused?

First, and foremost...Dean fantastic job with this program. Great idea, implementation and more than anything, your continued support!

I usually feel bad when I see folks ask you for "can you add this" or "that"...BUT, I'm wondering if other folks have this desire:

Would anyone else value having an "undo" option for use with the "move transitional files" with the "all" sub-option?

I just put over 1TB of AVCHD subdirectories on a drive and I'm going to use multiAVCHD to create a top level menu. I've had lots of errors from encoding motion menus to weird little x264 hangups that can cause things to go wrong- or maybe I just don't like the menu the way I chose and want to try again...

In any case, I'd like to start over again, but I really don't want to have to "copy" all these files again, I'd much rather "move" them again. If the program went into debug mode, then I may very well NOT have a usable AVCHD directory to use...I'd like to get all my M2TS file and PLAYLISTS and other files put back where they were and try again.

Just looking for other folks who might need this?

I added few things in this menu, which user previously had no control over. I thought that it is good to have the option to CORRECT what multiAVCHD detects, because sometimes it may not be exactly correct. + the detection of HD-DVD AVC videos was done using the meta data from x264. Once the file is remuxed this data is gone and although the file is compliant, multiAVCHD won't accept it as such. :)

I think you wanted to use specific chapter images for each thumbnail, not related to the jump-point. If it is not the case, then you can use it the way I implemented it.

First, and foremost...Dean fantastic job with this program.

I'm sorry but it is really impossible to do that.

Few small additions and explanations:

Colors in media tab:

http://multiAVCHD.deanbg.com/multiAVCHD_media_colors.jpg

You probably know what they mean and that you can hover with the mouse and read why a title is colored the way it is.

Build 736 adds the LIME color + [menu] prefix in the name of the title. It means that the title has custom menu settings loaded or it is using a menu-template.

* no background color (title 1) - everything is okay, normal processing
* Lime color (+[menu]) - explained above
* Maroon (dark red color) - title is marked for HD-DVD output
* Bright red - title is not compliant (either resolution, ref. frames, etc)
* Dark green - title is marked for transcoding.

Hi,

With the possibility to have a few chapter thumbnails, but also keep alot of chapter (used during playback) made me think about something:

How about joining/merging several movies into one title, that multiAVCHD would load?

Example: If you have these movies
Die Hard, Die Hard 2, Die Hard 3
The Matrix, Matrix Reloaded, Matrix Revolution
Spiderman, Spiderman 2, Spiderman 3
Shrek, Shrek 2, Shrek 3

That's 12 titles, but if you joined/merged each serie into a title, you would end up with 4 titles (and save 8 title slots in multiAVCHD). Then you make 3 chapter thumbnails, each linked to startpoint of each joined/merged movie inside title.

Is this doable with some tools? I'm worried about issues with subtitles/audio sync...

Any idea how to do it, and what tools recommended? Subtitles can not be text-based, but picture-based (dvd sub/bluray sup)

Thanks, bye

multiAVCHD can do it for you.

1) You need to prepare each movie as a separate compilation (AVCHD or BDMV folder).

2) Load all movies (all three Die Hard for example) in multiAVCHD (they'll show as [m] playlists in media tab).

3) [TRANSCODE] button will change to [merge playlists]

4) (if you want compilations to be MOVED to the joined location make sure to mark [x] Move transitional files [x] all).

5) Click [merge playlists] and select output folder

6) You'll get ONE title, which will contain ALL movies with their chapters, subtitles, thumbnails anything.

If you set [x] all in step 4 you'll get the new joined title in just few seconds.

The process involves no remuxing nor changing the original, but playlist rebuilding. No other tool does that. :) Repeat steps 2 to 6 for The matrix, then for Shrek, etc... At the end you'll have 4 compilations, each with 1 title (with joined 3 movies inside).

Load these 4 and you're done.

At any time you can do the reverse (after you join these movies in one title) - using the VOLUME SPLIT option - something no other tool does, too - get each movie back to a separate AVCHD/BDMV structure/title/compilation.

:) Cool, eh!

Yes :) that's why there is 'multi' in multiAVCHD, although some say it does Blu-ray and other formats, too! :p

The [merge playlsit] option is basically for joining playlists from camcoders (when each playlsit has the same properties as the others), but I just did a test in my Playstation 3, joining 4 titles:

1) 720x480
2) 720x576
3) 1280x720
4) 1920x1080

All show in 1 title, chapters work perfectly and with each joined-title resolution is changed properly. :)

One thing you may notice is that the "SETUP page for each joined title will show the properties of the 1st one (like Die Hard I). It doesn't really matter if all 3 movies have the same resolution or/and audio/subtitle track-count (that is if you're using XMB menu, otherwise it doesn't matter - it is just text in the menu).

Hi there,

Regarding the error I posted about earlier:

"Failed to extract title thumbnail for title #1."
"Cannot detect file size: (C:\multiAVCHD\_TEMP\multiTEMP-20100220\20100220-015724-MM001.264)"

I am pretty sure this was because at some update the option under the 'Author' tab to 'Add pop-up menu' was not selected.

I reset all the settings to their default values and changed those that were specific to my setup and everything works as expected.

Just in case this helps someone else.

I'm confused a bit about mAVCHD updates. I see that when I launch it, and it looks for and requests an update from a Mirror, then the update process is very fast, but apparently it only updates the .exe itself.

How do I determine whether what I need instead is a complete full download and reinstall, because perhaps one or more of the \tools has been updated?

None of the tools were updated since october 2009. Update updates the exe only. I can't handle more that that. The only thing new is avs4x264.exe which I posted about few days ago. OK, well the example you gave already breaks the rule then, cuz I am not alerted that it's not in my install. But I do understand it is special for those who want to use 64-bit x264... ;)

If launching latest mAVCHD exe will either warn me that I have a missing or outdated tool, or otherwise tell me when I need to download the whole installation package, that will be wonderful. :)

Hi,

I managed to merge the three Matrix movies into a Matrix collection. But somehow I could not get only 3 chapter thumbnails created, it created thumbnails for all +90 chapters (chapter times imported using ChapterXtractor that extracted times from DVD's) and created 8 chapter pages after I started a new project and added the finished merged collection.

Here is link to project file and log after completed creation of AVCHD structure, download zip file (http://www.sendspace.com/file/soqx6b).

I noticed one error I made, I defined the first line under "menu thumbnails" > Thumbnail #00 to be startpoint of first movie, and I now see that should not be a startpoint, but a title thumbnail. And that "thumbnail #01" should be set as startpoint for first movie and would be first visible chapter thumbnail, right?

How do I setup to get only 3 chapter thumbnails visible, and keep all the other chapters for inplay use?

Is there any way I can get selfmade chapter thumbnails for those three chapter thumbnails?

If I only wanted 3 chapters, will the program automatic extract a thumbnail for each chapter? Like in this example, it extracted +90 thumbnails, and it took 10 minutes.

Is it always needed to demux a M2TS file into seperat parts, and then mux them together again as long I don't do some properties modifications that needs to demux? As you can see in the log above, it took almost 35 minutes. I'm just curious if I could do something ahead that somehow perhaps did avoiding this part in the process.

I understand my computer is not so fast, but any minutes saved, is a minute saved...

Thanks, bye

There is a button [remove] in "Menu thumbnails". You need to remove ALL links/thumbnails that you don't need.

http://multiavchd.deanbg.com/os-sample.jpg

Splitting to different .m2ts is set by [media split] setting in Author tab. Set it to 26000 for example and title won't be split. Splitting doesn't take more time if you're worried about it, but it is better not to have title split, so you can later un-join them if you want.

You can use your own chapter images if you replace the generated in HDAVCTN folder before you import the joined folder for your next step.

Hi Deanbg,
i was wondering if you could make this very cool application kind of like MultiAVCHD. It would be just like MultiAVCHD but you can input a cropped mkv and it would uncrop it then make it a AVCHD disk, just like uncropmkv but instead in one easy operation. Also with uncropmkv i noticed you can also add avi, files, and vobs and many different file types, so could you add that in too. So what i want is a multiavchd which will convert your files, uncrop them, and come out with a disk that has menus.
Praneeth Gogineni
if it is possible can you add in the option to chose your resolution and alter it.

Hi,

Hmm, I can not get [not used], when I mark a line and press "remove", the list just refresh and it says [default]. How should I do it?

Edit: I figured it out, the [not used] ended up last in the list, I thought the line that was marked was the line that it should say [not used] when I pressed "Remove".

Would it mean I have to manually go through +90 lines in the list and press "remove" for each line?

Edit: Seems so, but I did a short-cut and loaded project file in a text-editor and replaced all -1 with -2 :)

I need to have splitting, to be able to store on a FAT32 hardrive, since PS3 don't support NTFS. But the titles was already splitted into parts where none was bigger then 4GB, that's why I wondered why it had to do the demux/mux job... I hope you understood what I mean, english is not my best :)

So, the get custom thumbnails I have to first create a AVCHD, then recreate it once more to get custom thumbnails?

This is how I did the work from start to finish:

1. Created an AVCHD folder with txmuxer, with movie, audio and bluray sup (converted dvd sub -> bluray sup with
BDSup2Sub) for each of Matrix movies.

2. Loaded first AVCHD folder into multiAVCHD, fixed language audio/subtitle text tags, added chapters times from DVD. Disabled top menu, chapter list, title list, welcome screen, and created AVCHD structure. Repeated same for other 2 movies.

3. Removed all titles in multiAVCHD, added the three finished AVCHD folders created with multiAVCHD, and merged them into a new AVCHD folder.

4. Removed all titles in multiAVCHD. Added the new merged AVCHD folder. Then I setup the project as in the zip file (http://www.sendspace.com/file/soqx6b) I gave above. And pressed "Start" to get the final AVCHD.

Where in this list would you recommend I would do the adding of my three wanted custom chapter thumbnails, to avoid an extra creation of AVCHD folder?

Thanks, bye

I just noticed that with the new version 4 that it turns the 1st subtitile on by default. The old version didnt do that and it presents and problem if you didnt want subs turns on by default.

Oh btw, I love the new motions menus. Its really nice.

Untick "Force display of first subtitle track" from Subtitles and Audio TAB.

Hi Deanbg,
i was wondering if you could make this very cool application kind of like MultiAVCHD. So what i want is a multiavchd which will convert your files, uncrop them, and come out with a disk that has menus.

if it is possible can you add in the option to chose your resolution and alter it.
When you transcode in MultiAVCHD, you can uncrop. Click on transcode and you'll see.

Where in this list would you recommend I would do the adding of my three wanted custom chapter thumbnails, to avoid an extra creation of AVCHD folder?

You could've clicked [remove] and then hold the [enter] key to delete more links, but editing the project works, too (I hope you edited/replaced -1 only in TLINKS tags).

If you have used multiAVCHD for preparing the titles (and not tsmuxer) you could've avoid remuxing of the input few times.

Add these three chapters should be the last thing for the last/final compilation.

edit: I'll also suggest to close and start multiAVCHD after each step and not using the [clear] button. Just to be sure that all is clean at each start.

Hi Deanbg,
i was wondering if you could make this very cool application kind of like MultiAVCHD.

There is no need for another cool application kind of like multiAVCHD.

1) Load your files in multiAVCHD
2) Click [FIT ALL]
3) Select Destination media: [*HDD* MiB [KEEP SAME BITRATE]]
4) Set what menu you want and click START.

Your files will be uncropped and you'll get a menu.

I'll add tools-check... It just didn't seem so important. Downloading 20-30MBs is not a big deal anyway (it doesn't apply to you, as you said something about your ISP speed). Thanks, and you're right, I am limited to how much download I can do every day, but I don't mind--I just don't want to have to monitor (and retain) every post in this thread to know when I need to make the full DL again. :)

Untick "Force display of first subtitle track" from Subtitles and Audio TAB.

Ok, thanks. I didn't spot that.

The option is there for almost 1 year already :) and is not specific to version 4.0

If you already created a compilation and don't want to re-run just because of this option, open index.bdmv with BDedit and edit the first command of object #256.

It says SetStream 2147598337,0 (51C00001 8001C001 00000000) -> replace it with NOP (00000000 00000000 00000000) to match the one I boxed in green. (edit the 2nd box first - the one with 8001C001 and then the 1st one)

Hi Dean,

because I don't know whether this is a bug or just my misunderstanding, I am man enough to post it here.

I've tried to have a compilation this afternoon (mix of BD and HD-DVB).

All HD-DVB was easily processed, but all of the BD-content got an error like this:
