No - I never actually had time to design my own ICON for the application :) not to say about banners.

(also - you can edit your posts instead of posting few one after another :D)

@deank

Does the bluray output for multiAVCHD now match the "new" tsmuxer bluray output? or is it different?

deank
12th April 2009, 17:08
It doesn't affect multiAVCHD, because of the 'authoring' part in multiAVCHD. You should not worry about it. :)

And multiBD is not 'really' a bluray output - it has always been avchd but for optical media.

And multiBD is not 'really' a bluray output - it has always been avchd but for optical media.

That is more precisely what I was wondering about...

Should there be a true bluray output? Is there a reason there isn't such an output? I'm just wondering about future compatibility, etc.

I assumed it wasn't a real bluray output, because of the need to remove AUXDATA and CERTIFICATE directories for playback in certain players.

deank
12th April 2009, 17:18
Well the name "multiAVCHD" was picked because of the AVCHD output type. It was never a problem to add a true blu-ray output button and I may add one. I just fear that it will bring much confusion among users.

I assumed it wasn't a real bluray output, because of the need to remove AUXDATA and CERTIFICATE directories for playback in certain players.

There is a [x] Stricter avchd folder mode option in multiAVCHD and if users use it - there's no need to manually remove these folders.

Hi deank, if you can, please do add a button for the TRUE Bluray output as I will be getting a Bluray ReWriter pretty soon and will like to try that out. Thanks!

You're right - it is not supported in AVCHD, but PS3 handles it. I may add an option for STRICTER audio/video formats and option to convert DTS audio to AC3 (as it is done in mkv2avi).

It would be great! Thanks.

Hi,

I just got two errors in processing mkvs. I'll report them separately, but first, the issue I see is that the resulting menu is erroneous. It contains all items that I wanted to include but the stream folder includes only the files that were processed without errors. Therefore I have to rename entries and delete extra entries...

The solution seam simple: the menu should include only tracks that were processed without errors.

THX, G

Here's my 1st issue:

The log contains the following error "tsMuxer didn't like (). Skipping it...", without additional info.

The full log is attached in my next post.

I'm using build 515

deank
12th April 2009, 20:19
Yes, sometimes it happens. I need more time to work on the error-processing.

gordan
12th April 2009, 20:21
... and the 2nd:

The error is
"Important files missing (clpi/mpls/m2ts)...
Possible tsMuxer failure to process your input file (I:\Video\Movies\movie.mkv)."

The log and info on the movie are attached.

In an ideal world, the message would be very specific. Is there something that can be done to explain what is wrong?

THX! G

Not such a problem if the result is correct:) (Referring to my post on the menu.)

Does this now support the SDHC for SAP like the Panasonic BD30, or is this still limited to PS3?

Oh quick question...when I play the titles in the playlist (from beginning till the end)...when I press the NEXT CHAPTER button on my remote, why can't the title skip to the next playlist item? Is there a workaround instead of pressing the <Menu> or <Title> button on the remote whenever I want to go on to the next chapters towards the end? Likewise for PREVIOUS CHAPTER for cycling backwards...I though this is quite an important function for all authoring tools of DVD and Bluray :P

Hi Dean, thank you for your amazing work with multiAVCHD.

I donīt know if this applies to the AVCHD format, i have a PS3 and i use a streaming app called Ps3 Media Server, i use it mostly to stream SD videos or music, anyway im telling you this because they managed to stream DTS without transcoding or converting to LPCM, they trick the Ps3 player by sending a supported audio file (AC3, i think), and after a second, the server changes it back to the original DTS stream, so your audio equipment notices this change and then it decodes the DTS stream.

Maybe (or maybe not) this could be done with multiavchd to avoid transcoding the DTS MA/HRA to LPCM or AC3, with LPCM as you well know, we conserve quality but increase the file size a lot, and with AC3 we lose quality, so maybe its worthy to try this.

Thanks again...

No, not yet. When I enable the option in AUTHOR tab - then it will work

NEXT and PREV on my PS3 remote advance to the next/previous chapter, not title. You can create your own chapter marks at the very end of each file and then NEXT will almost instantly play the next title.

...they managed to stream DTS without transcoding or converting to LPCM, they trick the Ps3 player by sending a supported audio file (AC3, i think), and after a second, the server changes it back to the original DTS stream, so your audio equipment notices this change and then it decodes the DTS stream.

I'd rather not mangle audio streams in such way. multiAVCHD is not for PS3 only, so no one could tell what impact it will have on other players. Also, you can use HD audio untouched (without encoding to LPCM or AC3) and your pS3 will play it. Simply do not use the checkboxes in Audio tab.

In build 518:

index.bdmv is generated in different way so now players will show proper title count (not always 40). There was an issue with PowerDVD when I did it in build 421, so please if anyone can - test PDVD with the latest build.

1. I think there is a bug when the filename to import has the character ' (apostrophe) - forx example "king arthur director's cut".
It generates a movie that has a time 0:00:00 and which is unplayable.
If i rename the file all seems ok.

2. when i select XMB directshow option, i have a lot of x264.exe error when creating menu

3. the renaming of avchd folder into avchd_date don't work for me and generate errors with line 6642 mentionned

Okay I added *.MPLS support in build 521. Be advised that your files have to have the long file names format, i.e. 00000.mpls / 00000.m2ts (but not 8.3 00000.MPL/MTS).

Please test it and let me know if it works... It will probably need more work, but this is the initial support.

(a late fix: chapters and audio/subtitle language tags)

You seem to be the only one with so many problems and one of the many who didn't read the guide nor this thread carefully.

Check if you really have enough space on your _TEMP and TARGET drives. Also about AVCHD-rename problem - it is always better to use "Custom name" and the newly created AVCHD will be named "AVCHD_custom name"... You can't always use AVCHD if you already have one in your output folder and if another program is using the content.

Try to find which XXXXX.mpls file contains your XXXXX.m2ts file and import it, instead of the .m2ts file.

To make things simple - always CLOSE your multiAVCHD before trying to make another compilation. Also if you already have AVCHD folder in the output folder - make sure that no other programs are using it (close all players, explorer windows which have the AVCHD open, etc.). OR SIMPLY fill something in the "Custom name" box before you start compiling.

@navycrow:

Looking at your log I'd say that:

1) 00000.mpls is definitely not your movie playlist
2) You either didn't rip the original blu-ray disc properly or you don't have it at all.

Take a look few posts up where I pasted my log. There you will see a lot of streams being detected before the line "Creating Blu-ray folders (tsMuxer)...".

@desray: And I believe your player indicates that it's playing Blu-ray disc (content).

I confirm 00000.mpls is the only file i have. it contains 00000.m2ts wich contains my movie with 1 video track, 5 audio tracks and 6 subtitles tracks. There is no menu.
