Right-click on the "multiAVCHD.exe" file (or Desktop icon, if you have one) and select "Properties".
Set "Run" to "Nomal window".
Click on "OK"
Thanks for your answer, but unfortunately it didn't help...

@icegue
1) Did you remember to click "OK"?
2) If you NOW rightclick on the file and select "Properties", what does it NOW say next to "Run"?
If it says "Normal Window", reboot your system and see if the program then sets up properly...

Uninstall, reboot, reinstall, reboot - or perform a System Restore back to the last time things were working properly...

How can I back up DVDs with multiAVCHD and put them on a BD? So far I have tried to make MKVs out of them and created a BD, but the 4/3 aspect ratio was gone and it was displayed at 16/9. I carfully did put only 4/3 files together but in vain.
Any good idea how I can create a BD with a correct display of 4/3 aspect ratio?

If you put before your videos in MKV specifying 4/3 ratio, I believe MultiAVCHD will respect this ratio and will output the file in 4/3.
You can also try TS container in place of MKV.

Is there any way to select which frame is used as a thumbnail for each title in the XMB, Slide or Carousel menus in multiAVCHD? Forgive me if the answer is obvious - I've had no luck searching for it. Thanks.

Well I did the MKVs with 4/3 in mkvmerg but that did not help. MultiAVCHD creates a BD with 16/9, so, I don#t think it will work.

I have a Windows 7 64-bit computer. I used MakeMKV to convert a BluRay disk to an MKV file, then split it into 7 files using mkvMergeGUI (so I could rearrange the order), then loaded all 7 files into multiAVCHD to make a new BluRay disk. A few seconds after pressing Start, multiAVCHD hung with an error message "tsMuxer.exe has stopped working. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." I had to close multiAVCHD and tsMuxer with Task Manager. Can anyone provide a solution? Here is the MediaInfo report on the first of the seven MKV files:

i made a mistake and updated ffdshow and haali media splitter. i wish to go back to the "official multiAVCHD" versions of each program. i've been searching this thread for hours and all i keep seeing are links to a page on a now defunct support forum.
i know i should be using avisynth 2.58. but i can't remember the versions of ffdshow and haali. i would appreciate any assistance i can get. thanks.

setarip_old, thanks very much for your helpful advice yesterday.
My apologies, but please could I have some assistance with another problem. How do I select the thumbnail frames that multiAVCHD uses in a static "Slide" top menu? I click on each file in the Media tab to get the file properties, then enter the "Poster frame" number (e.g. 00:00:45:205) then OK. If I reopen each file's properties, the frame I selected shows in the small preview screen. However, when I select Menu > Menu Preview > Main Menu, the preview shows only "multiAVCHD.deanBG.com" in plain blue frames with no thumbnails. On the Menu > Extended tab, "Do not create title thumbnails" is unchecked. In the finished Blu-Ray compilation, I get thumbnails, but they are not the ones I selected. What am I doing wrong?

I'm sorry to be such a noob, but i can't find the bookmark to a web page that went into detail how to configure haali and ffdshow (and the win 7 filter tweaker). And come to think of it, that page may have been on the support forum that is gone.
Thank you for the help and thank you for continuing this thread. This is one the best programs i've ever used and i've barely even scratched the surface of what it can do. For example, I haven't even figured out how to eliminate the bar on the menu page so all that shows is the buttons (and of course "play all", "episode list", etc.)
Thanks again.

Well, I tried to put all DVD contend with tsmuxer into ts files. According to Mediainfo I got files with:
Width : 720 Pixel
Height : 576 Pixel
Display aspect ratio : 4:3
When I load the files into multiAVCHD it is changed to
[16:21:29] *** Original : 720x576

Very strange, I don't have this problem (but I didn't use MultiAVCHD for a long time, the last version has maybe a bug).
Anyway, I wonder if you could solve this problem with BDEdit or simply with TSMuxer correcting the m2ts created by MultiAVCHD and replacing it (keeping the same name of course).

How to fix menu page created by multiavchd?
I created a blu-ray project a while back (meaning i don't have the source files on my HDD but I could re-create them when i have a day to spare).
The problem is I only checked to see if it would load and then moved on to another (had a lot of projects at the time). It loaded fine but unfortunately the buttons do not appear so nothing can be selected. That is a problem.
I tried loading the project into multiAVCHD (re-author mode) in the hopes that it would correct itself when it processed the BDMV structure. Unfortunately for me, it didn't.
I tried using the tutorial for editing blu-ray menus by ctrl2007 but there is nothing in the JAR folder and when loading the project into BDEdit, nothing appeared in the menu section (of course).
So I was hoping someone could help me either: correct the main menu so that the buttons work, or some way to bypass the main menu to get to the titlelist menu so I can at least see what I named the 50 or so titles.
Thank you.

Hi everyone,
I've been a user of Doom9 for yrs but this is my first post. I'm testing MultiAVCHD as a solution for transferring all my original DVDs to USB hard drive for playback via an Oppo BluRay player (I've run out of physical storage for any more DVD/BR cases!).
I've two current issues that I can't find solutions to despite searching numerous forums and wondered if anybody could help advise:-
Note: I currently use MultiAVCHD 4.1 build 770 with the recommended versions of fdshow, Haali media splitter, avisynth etc, running on XP with SP3.
1/ I can't find where to stop it creating all the chapter thumbnails? I don't want or need the chapter menus and have unchecked the option to create these menus but it still creates all the thumbnails for every chapter?
Deans Tutorial page refers to a "[x] Create chapter thumbnails (XMB)" option but I can't find this anywhere? I realise his tutorial images/info, have changed as new builds have been done.
Any ideas?
2/ I just can't get subtitles to be created. I will normally exclude them, only ripping the main movie and main soundtrack. However, a few films need them due to forced foreign/alien language. I realise this is a lengthy subject on it's own. Are there any suggestions, guides or tutorials you can recommend?
For info, below is the multiAVCHD log from a successful film creation but failed subtitles:

Weird, I did it and it worked. Try TS with TSMuxer, it should work.
These two entries refer to my problem, too.
It's my first time when I put 4:3 movies from DVDs to Blu-ray.
The problem is that I need to keep the subtitles, which will get lost by converting those movies first to .TS. According to the log, it was the tsmuxer that changed the DAR from 4:3 to 16:9.
hello_hello
16th September 2011, 11:15
When you play the original DVD in the same player, does it display with the correct (4:3) aspect ratio?
I can't speak for AVCHD discs, as I've never tried to create/play one, but by default my Bluray player outputs even 4:3 DVDs as 16:9. The menu item to change that (Setup-Screen Format) doesn't indicate it applies only to DVDs. It's kind of counter intuitive as the two options refer to the aspect ratio of the screen, not the disc, so the default setting of "original" has the player outputting 4:3 DVDs as 16:9. Using the default setting I physically have to change the TV's screen format to 4:3 to have 4:3 DVDs display correctly.
The other Bluray player in the house displays 4:3 DVDs correctly by default, adding grey borders to the sides etc.
So I'm just wondering whether the aspect ratio is correct when you create a disc using multiAVCHD, but if the player could be doing it's own thing on playback.

Did you try what I suggested later ? Try to replace the m2ts created by MultiAVCHD after changing its DAR to 4/3 with TSMuxer.
As TSMuxer can create 4/3 videos when used alone, I guess this bug comes from MultiAVCHD which gives a bad order to TSMuxer.

I bought a panasonic viera lcd tv and downloaded 2 trailers (m2ts files) from http://www.demo-world.eu/trailers/high-definition-trailers.php. multiAVCHD successfully generated the AVCHD folder. But only one video can be played on the tv. The other one cannot be recognized by the tv. Inside /AVCHD/BDMV/STREAM/ folder, one of the two files is identical to the original m2ts file (working one) while the unrecognized one is different (transcoded?). Could anyone please help. :thanks:
P.S. under "Settings" there is no check mark for "auto set transcode for non-compliant titles".
Edit: just found in multiAVCHD log that both streams are similar: 1920x1080 hd h264, ac3 video except the profile, the tv playable is using High@4.0 while the unrecognized one is High@4.1
Edit2: tried another 4 m2ts files from the same site, i.e. 6 in total, only 2 work and both are High@4.0. All unrecognized are 4.1. Does it mean my viera tv rejects High@4.1 profile?

Hey guys:
The process below is so I can get a re-muxed mkv file to work in multiAVCHD:
I have done this in the past and it usually works. I run mkvExtractGui-2 ver (2.2.2.5).
I load the mkv file. Check the Use Source dir for Output box. Check the Track 1 and Track 2 boxes and Extract.
That works fine.
Then I open tsMuxerGui 1.10.6 and load the newly created .h264 and .ac3files(or .dts file). The output default is TS muxing. I don't change that. And then I click Start muxing.
Here's the issue:
This program creates one .ts file which mkvmerge GUI v4.9.1 doesn't support. I don't know what the proper file format I should be getting here to use in MKVmerge???
I assume I'm doing something wrong but I have no idea what. Any help will be greatly appreciated!!!

Hi!
I, for one, am having a hard time understanding what you have and what you're trying to accomplish.
For starters, what is your source material for creating the INITIAL .MKV file?
What software and procedures did you use to create it?
What's wrong with this INITIAL .MKV file that requires you to fix it?
jwmghf

Hey setarip_old:
I have errored about tsMuxer. That program should not be in play. Dean said that some of the newer mkv files may fail when using multiAVCHD. So if you run into a problem mkv then load the mkv in an older version of mkvExtract(somewhere btwn v2-v3). Then load the .h264 and .ac3files(or .dts file) into a new version of mkvMerge. He says that should fix the problem and it has in the past, but, lately it too has been failing. Does any of this sound familiar?? I hope so. Also, I am not creating the mkv. The source already exists.
Thanks

After the extraction by MKVExtract, you can also put your video in a TS container with TSMuxer, before opening it in multiAVCHD.

HELP!
I use the multiavchd4.1 to make HD movie menu in order to playback them on my PS3 slim, it always works fine, but something goes wrong these days, I found that the TRUE HD sound track of my HD movies can no longer be bitstream nomally to my av receiver (other tracks works no problem, including the DTS, DD, DTS HD, DTS HD MASTER) . I firstly guess it is the problem of the PS3, but when I put a BD in the ps3, it works fine, the TURE HD track in the BD can be bitstream to AV receiver very well. It seems that only the TRUE HD sound tracks in the AVCHD fold can not be bitstream nomally! does anybody find the same problem? Is there any parameter setting error in my MULTIAVCHD operations? Or just a new bug of PS3 firmware?

I have NTSC MPEG 2 files which are 720 x 480. They have AC3 2 channel audio. I can easily create a BluRay without re-encoding. However I cannot make a DVD. I'm using MultiAVCHD Version 4.1. I notice in the log window when it's muxing the DVD that it says "SD-DVD muxing failed!".
In the "Alter detected properties" box I marked the file as being DVD compliant. In the "Transode" settings I marked the file as "Create SD-DVD" title. If I instead select "Do not transcode" and click OK, if I then open the transcode box again it has changed back to "BluRay/AVCHD compliant".
Could somebody please give tell me which options I should select to get it to make a DVD. Do I need to download additional codecs to get the DVD muxing to work?
They are already DVD compliant as I made the MPEG 2 files with VideoRedo.
I also tried to import an already made DVD but that wouldn't work either.
Has anybody successfully made DVDs with this program without re-encoding? Is so, can you please tell me what settings I should use to make it work.

In the "Alter detected properties" box I marked the file as being DVD compliant.
1) Do NOT select anything in "Alter detected Properties". The fact that it fails when you select this indicates that your file is NOT totally DVD-compliant.
2) Since it's not DVD-compliant, your file will have to be re-encoded.

I tried that then it obviously attemps to re-encode the video. The file is already DVD compliant so I don't want to re-encode. I know it's DVD compliant because I could make a DVD without re-encoding in VideoRedo.
I then tried repeating what I did originally by setting the "Alter Detected properties" to DVD compliant and I set the Transcode to SD Title but this time I chose to have no menu. I got the same error message as before.
I then ticked this in the settings "use FFms2 instead of DirectShow."
It still doesn't work.
Has anbody made a DVD in multiAVCHD without re-encoding?

@holygamer
I'd suggest you perform the following experiment:
1) Demux a PROVEN DVD
2) Load the video and audiostreams into multiAVCHD and process as "SD" (Load audiostream as "External audio")
As a second experiment, remux the video and audio streams before loading into multiAVCXHD
